who should i take to the crowning ceremony?
Follow ur heart
i took abelard and cassia. abelard becasue he deserves it, cassia for political reasons. pasqal and argenta are also good choices. in the end it all depends on what kind of image you want to project on the people and your political counterparts
I took Abelard for being a loyal homie and made sure that his dynasty was responsible for the ceremony.
2nd pick is Argenta to show off my piety and loyalty to the Imperium and Ecclesiarchy.
Abelard provides an efficiency bonus to colonies while Argenta the complacency.
I wanted to take Ylriet, but thought it would send a wrong message, also Pascal for politics with Ad Mech and Cassia for the same reason. I don't ever see a scenario where I would bring Idira to the ceremony.
Yrliet gets you the highest bonuses and Abelard is the most bro, so take those two.
Xenophiles we win again
>no i will not roleplay in a roleplaying game
>yes, i will base all my choices on the numerical bonuses I recieve
why even play rpgs then
Well the actual reason why I took Yrliet and Abelard is that I love them both but I was also pleasantly surprised that the eldussy gets you the best numbers, because she is quite literally the best girl.
>she is quite literally the best girl.
I want to shake the stupid b***h and call her a moron. If she just stops doing anything, everything will be fine. She had so much potential but holy frick letting her have any form of autonomy leads to disaster for her, me, my crew, and her craftworld. Honestly becoming the RT's pet would be a best case scenario if we could figure out some kind of webway cage that prevents her from being dangled like a delicacy in the warp whenever we do a jump.
I genuinely like her, and feel for her tragic past, but holy throne she needs to just STOP. EVERYTHING.
You're unironically a cuck. here is nothing characteristically that yrliet can offer that cassia does not, and cassia is actually loyal.
I have never in my life seen Yrliet act in a disloyal manner thoughever.
Huh? She betrays you and your entire party to the Drukhari to die a horrible and painful death in Commorragh.
No she does not, she kills the actual traitor and then the drukhari ambush you.
Anon
You really should improve your reading and comprehension skills, this amount of pure cope can't be healthy
No? She literally doesn't betray you, or sell you out to the Drukhari. She agrees to meet them and then they betray her and imprison your player character and the retinue.
Bruh
I feel like we got different scenes then, because she very openly and admittedly betrays you to the Drukhari. Yes, she killed the spymaster because he was a traitor (everything surrounding the spymaster was also bugged for me) but that was separate from the deal she struck with Marazhai. He wanted you, she delivered. She even said something along the times of "okay I brought him to you, now give me the information I asked for".
Yes, I know. That probably happens if the player is dogmacuck/heredick, with us iconochads she doesn't betray anyone, just acts a bit foolishly.
I did an Iconoclast run, I had her in my party the entire time and befriended her. She still betrayed me to the Drukhari.
This is the full conversation she has with you if you've done it correctly. Her mistake was expecting anything good out of associating with the darkies, but she did not intentionally sell you out or wish harm upon you.
literally all she had to do was tell you the full details. then you'd be prepared for that shit.
Yeah, I agree. It was a pretty stupid mistake, and would have been easily rectified. It's not completely unreasonable, she was at the end of her rope with regards to her lost kin, the darkies offered a small glimmer of hope, she had just discovered that you might have had something to do with the destruction of her craftworld and to top it all off she had just offed the inquisitor's associate and was afraid you wouldn't take it well. Pretty annoying that she couldn't trust the player but it is what it is. And what it is isn't quite a betrayal at least in my books, just a stupid lapse in judgement.
I got the same path and dialogue and agree with that.
Hope is a double-edged sword, and she got cut with both sides, not just one.
She was foolish and not forthcoming with what was happening, but didn't try to trap the trader.
If she was smart, nothing would have come of it, but I also wouldn't have had the opportunity to condemn a large part of Commoragh and murder the motherfricker that was stealing suns.
For all my character would care, she can betray me a second time if he gets to kill that bastard again.
>all she had to do was tell you the full details
So, one thing, which eldar notorius for never doing?
Then why did she talk so much shit about me in the court room scene? Frick off, she believed you were responsible for destroying her world and were hiding it, thats why she betrayed you.
In my court room scene she literally just looked around in fear like a trapped animal.
yeah and she points you out and says you destroyed her homeworld.
In the dream sequence, she did. But it's hard to blame her too much for her words there, she was literally cornered and at the mercy of the darkies. One would likely say whatever in that situation to earn clemency. If it was indeed her that said it, since you were hallucinating at the time.
We were talking about the trial in Comorragh, you're thinking of the scene where she discovers the shard in your room and gets overwhelmed with emotion. Even human women don't act rationally when they're overcome with emotion, and eldar have much more intense feelings than humans. She had to go all cold or she would have exploded in an emotional outburst.
Also you get the best result if you pass the fellowship test rather than choosing the knowledge option.
now you are just putting words and thoughts in her head and mouth. She points right at you, and says you are the mother fricker that destroyed her planet. Like it wasn't even relevant to the tribunal, she just says it to get it out there.
She says it to get herself out of there. Remember that she had already been tortured at that point.
I had the same as the first anon. She looked around, was really aggressive the entire time, and then when she locked eyes on the shard of the craftworld she asked me why that was there, I passed a check and asked if it was Aeldari. And then she insulted me and walked off upset.
What courtroom scene. Did I miss this? I told everyone on the ship she betrayed us and they wanted to hang her
You forgot the best part
Pasqal-sama I kneel
then why personally come down to slay her?
It could be he knew he enough to know that his own personal touch was needed to take her out.
Or he could be lying to himself. His metal heart didn't feel anything, but his human tissue felt something he would rather not share with the rest of his Explorator cadre.
Suffer not the thot to live
Yeah, cringe.
Because he knows her fighting style and is a killing machine himself.
She would snipe him like nothing. A c**t move Pascal. Had the same ending. But he is not Pascal anymore after he merged whit his parts so .....
>I will never betray your trust ever again
Let me guess — she goes and betrays you again after that?
Oh yes. If the intent was to write her like a typical self absorbed woman, mission accomplished.
Despite her bad track record, after the deldar frickery she actually does keep her word thoroughly throughout the rest of the game.
She betrays you every time regardless of your choices
Maybe we did get different branches, or I didn't talk to her at the same points.
For me, she said she knew it might be a trap, but did not know if it would be. She was willing to risk it for the chance to know the fate of her craftworld. The fact that it was made for the Rogue Trader was not revealed until the trap was sprung, at the trial.
She chastises herself for being so foolish, and knew it was too good to be true, but still took me ass on a merry fool's errand.
So, yes, she's a dumb elf bawd, but she wasn't specifically selling me out. Just not truthful as to what would most likely be a trap.
He's not wrong, but he explained it poorly.
Your spymaster in the capital got broken by the drukari and is working for them, she kills him, and takes a risk trying to follow the breadcrumbs laid by the drukari to find her craftworld.
Of course it's a trap, but she tried doing the right thing, before she went full moron.
>believing a xenos
NGMI
She cannot lie to you literally inside her soul. There was regret over not telling her beloved Rogue Trader the full details, but no sign of betrayal.
She didn't warn you. She conspired with your enemy behind your back. She deliberately set you up and feels guilty about it, there's no way around it. The traitor is a traitor.
Yes, yes she does. She literally admits it to you and apologizes. The reason you end up in Commorragh is because she made a deal with Marazhai. He would give her information on her fellow peoples if she brings you to him.
Not related but after having recruited all of the companions and doing all of their quests, Pasqal was my favorite companion in the end.
>the quest is pure kino, closely tied to the main story and feels important
>the writing is superb
>all three outcomes are great
I fricking love Pasqal so much
im at the end of chapter 2. when do I get pasqal's quest
Pasqal's quest is everywhere
You better bring him with you
I can't fathom going anywhere without him
Pasqal would play for the numerical bonuses
Thank Larian for introducing normalgays to the genre. Now we have unironic metagays and build guide followers in these single player CRPGs.
It's always been there. Were you not around for the kenshi meta with BG2? That's the most notorious but there was also debates with druid or which cleric domains to take. Hell, Imoen is a mage in 2 because her stats were best for thief -> wizard multiclass and it became the meta for players in 1.
The internet barely existed when BG2 released bro
I roleplay as an ex Adeptus Administratum clerk.
I'm keeping her around so I can hunt her down like a dog with my bro Calligos.
She should be thankful enough I didn't send her personally to Slaanesh after chapter 3, what a fricking c**t.
I can't believe people romance this backstabbing xeno b***h.
Oh that, she doesn't actually betray you. An apparently common misconception, she kills the traitor and merely uses the connection to arrange a meeting with the darkies, and it's the darkies that decide to abduct you without her knowledge.
>she doesn't betray you
>except all those times she does betray you
Pascal has the right idea.
She doesn't betray you even once during the thousand-odd years you're together. Why would she hurt the love of her life and the father of her children?
>he gets off being called a monkey
Take your medicine.
She stops calling you mon-keigh about a week into your relationship.
>relationship
You really are braindamaged. Alright, it goes against my inclination to kill off any partymembers no matter how shit useless, annoying or moronic because muh XP and loot from sidequests but I'm killing this moron off right now. Just for you.
Ok? Anyway, Eldar relationships are really slow burning so you'll have to thaw her ice slowly over the decades, but it is still a relationship. One that ends with you populating the voidship with little half-eldars. Well worth the time investment imo.
Seek help you mental frick.
You will never have sex with her, if she feels too good then she will turn into a dark eldar.
>you can frick Yrliet into a superior lifeform
holy based
God Emperor help us.
Wanna bet he'll start collecting toenail clippings and pretend they're soulstones?
What causes such disorders?
My bet is autism plus a potential brain tumor or two
no sex for 40 years mostly
Godspeed you magnificent deluded frick
Look man, I like Yrliet too but this just ain't it. Even if she would put out we're just not biologically compatible. It's basically bestiality. The fact she gets close to you in the spirit realm is frickhuge for an Aeldari/Human relationship and she actually does grow to care for you in a way that's as close to love as you can get.
But this is delusion.
The relationship part is true, she does actually love the RT romantically in a Eldar way, despite some people here shilling the "not real romance" bullshit.
But the second part is pure delusion.
Eldar and humans can't reproduce and it wouldn't make any sense to have sex, since she would just be having sex for pleasure would RT which would put her in great danger from Slaanesh. Unless she is willing to become a Drukhari, which makes even less sense given her character.
With the RT*
She doesnt love the RT romantically, not in a human or eldar way. Get it through your fricking skull that eldar have sex like anyone else (and yrliet in particular literally starts a normal relationship with marz in several of her endings to boot). Her relation to the RT is 100% platonic.
>sex
It's not just about sex, but the emotional aspect. Sex would have no point since Eldar can't breed with humans.
The game considers it a romance and you have to choose later if you romance another person, where she says something along the lines of "If the merging of two souls is not what you seek, then we'd best part ways as we don't want the same thing"
I'm not a waifuBlack person and she's not my favorite romance (I still like Cas from first dogmatic playthrogh better), but it's clear if you played it that she does love the RT. Why are you coping so hard about this, are you Noldorgay?
Also idk about the Marzipan part, from what I've seen here they just become either clowns or it says they form a friendship over shared trauma and become corsairs - nothing about romance.
Not sure if I missed something, though would be cool if that's an option so the two space elves can find some love that can actually produce lil Eldar.
>Sex would have no point since Eldar can't breed with humans
>Also idk about the Marzipan part, from what I've seen here they just become either clowns or it says they form a friendship over shared trauma and become corsairs - nothing about romance.
You're browsing the threads of people with farming cuck fantasies, just remember that
>over shared trauma
calling marazhai's self-inflicted downfall "trauma" is peak silliness
>Eldar can't crossbreed with humans
Until they change the lore again
I didn't romance her in my run, but I have seen a frick ton of screencaps of her romance dialogue.
It goes beyond friendship for certain from her end, but the biological incompatabilty remains a barrier.
At the end of the day it depends how you define it. Is it romance if it is just the emotional connection or does it need sex to truly be eros? I think there are good arguments for both cases, but from her perspective it 100% goes beyond friendship.
As for Marazhai, nothing in the ending slides explicitly mentions enter a relationship with her, correct.
>Sex would have no point since Eldar can't breed with humans
Ah yes, because humans have sex primarily for procreation, of course.
Craftworlders do, since indulging in hedonistic pleasure would put their souls in danger of being munched on by the troony god.
are you really a troony if you get born with both tools?
Don't bother, the owlkek schizos don't give a frick about the lore and just want to force their autism.
This has been pointed out many many times by actual loregays here, yet they just ignore it and continue to spam bullshit.
Craftworld Aeldari certainly do. To indulge invites bad things. The entire point of their "Path" system is to structure a very rigid discipline of thought processes to prevent straying.
Craftworld Eldar literally have a pseudo-religion about being autistic, disciplined, and never doing anything for pleasure.
So no, they don't have sex, ever, unless it's for procreation. They're at constant threat of tempting and being eaten by the god of hedonism, of course they don't have recreational sex, are you stupid?
It's a certain few Owltrannies spamming their cuckshit, just ignore.
Not even real life thots have simps THIS fricking devoted and deluded. Imagine creating a whole new reality in your head just to simp for some traitor in a video game.
It's the ears, anon. Elves were a mistake for the human race.
Yrliet and Jimmy were my two.
Turned out Yrliet gives mad stacks of colony bonuses, but I didn't even need those anymore anyway.
Hienrich didn't give anything cool but it felt like I needed to balance out the xeno filth.
Literally the first anon I've seen who brought Jimi. I was wondering if it was just boring or bad bonuses or what.
I picked Jimmi and Pasqal in my first run, then Abelard and Argenta in my second. 0 fricks given about profit, I did it for rp
Who is Jimmi?
Heinrix
Heinrix is close to Hendrix so people call him Jimmi
i was thinking about bringing him since he and abelard are my favorites, but it didn't feel right rp-wise. i don't want people to think that i am an inquisition's b***h, even if i might be
?si=jgsgq363NcXTgASW
Making Yrliet dress up like one of Santa's elves
Holy frick the Commorragh is so fricking long. I HATE IT. I HATE IT!
I just wanna go back cruising on my ship, managing colonies, doing side quests, exploring the systems. FRICK COOMARAGH. All my retinue hates Commorragh.
obligatory owlcat shitcity chapter. please understand
Except Alushinyrra was actually great
lol. lmao even.

Does anyone actually play on unfair difficulty? I've hit a brick wall where I lose most encounters, I try not to abuse OP shit, but playing normally is very hard or impossible.
I assume I need high agi/per on everyone and just try to go crazy first turn.
>unfair is unfair
Who could've thought. Remember kid, in owlcat games, either you beat the game like a filthy prostitute she is, or the game beats you like a spineless pussy you are. There's no way around it. Abuse the frick outta it.
>Does anyone actually play on unfair difficulty
Yes, but I stopped playing the game around 35 hours in because it got so broken that it was trivial and getting around broken quest triggers became exponentially harder than combat. Unfortunately I cannot get a refund and am quite angry.
I knew I was wise to dodge this shit for release. Fricking russian Black folk can't make a game correctly if their life depended on it. They've been making the same game 3 times now and still can't get it right.
The game is basically built on the turn based mod for kingmaker. Like you can tell from how things are implemented mechanically and the bugs that the framework wasn't specifically designed for the functions of this game, so it's like a mod of a mod and it's entirely possible the devs don't even fully understand how it works. The way some basic features are broken is completely inexcusable, I genuinely do not believe this game will ever be fixed. The general response on the steam forums from the devs was "we'd rather have more content than less bugs" which is to say they'd rather advertise a huge mountain of complete garbage than a functional game because of course that's what the pleb wants.
>I genuinely do not believe this game will ever be fixed
Considering Kingmaker is still a hot mess with game breaking bugs and runs like absolute shit in the final chapter and POTR also still has game breaking bugs depending on the path you choose along with numerous minor bugs.
You're probably right.
>Considering Kingmaker is still a hot mess with game breaking bugs
what do you get out of telling blatant lies like this?
You're fricking joking right?
>he doesn't know
works on my machine 🙂
Wait a minute, unless I'm mistaken they couldn't fix Kingmaker even if they wanted to. They lost the rights to it.
For me, it's Jae. The only romanceable female with a good ending.
>The only romanceable female with a good ending.
What? As iconolast my Jae's ending was horrible. She got rich and bought some planets, but then a new rogue trader showed up and obliterated her planets and enslaved her people. My Cassia ending was great. She took the helm of her family, made everyone come together, and brought it to new heights.
I'm pretty sure romance ending is supposed to override the normal ending
You could also make her a shadow baron you know
I like ship combat.
>the harlequin is described as moving with grace and precision
>the model moves like a drunken ape
what did they mean by this?
>2 hours to plan a characters build start to finish
>have to do each character three times if you want to try different builds for each alignment playthrough
>18 hours staring at abilities just for one playthrough, 54 if you're doing all alignments
Post alignment bonus stats.
I have 0 Heretical alignment.
1 Dogmatic
2 Heretical
4 Iconoclast
Roleplaying as a seedy crime lord still makes doing the ethical choice more viable than going full moron in either way, but at least Heretical occasionally involves doing the wrong thing for monetary value.
I "romanced" Marazhai, it amounted to what I thought it would. Lots of torture, fear, and anger, which then turned into adrenaline filled sex. Most of the time though he was just busy trying to convert you to his fricking religion like the god damn Jehovah's Witness.
Does his branding scene trigger properly at least?
Branding scene? Clearly not because I never saw it. I got 2 different murder events, and then an event where I had to choose a gift from him and he brought a snake to come choke me out. That was it.
Figures. He has the same bug as Jimmi till recent patches that requires "jealousy cutscene played" flag to be set to complete. Which isn't doable unless you either fix it with toybox or cheat him with someone else
torturing is not a religion, it's just a fetish. and fetishists are like that, they can't help but talk about it
No I'm talking about him quite literally bringing up Slannesh a number of times and saying how proud of me he was. Something along the lines of showing me the true path, for a stupid monkey of course.
Argenta's best weapon isn't even a heavy bolter lmao. They Shall Weep mogs it HARD.
>tfw nothing happens when i pick a fricking the dialogue option for blood ties
>have to either never finish it or pick a different end
i hate this piece of SHIT FRICKING GAME FRICK
I see marazhai's quest is still delivering unforgettable emotions. God I fricking hate it
Where the frick are jimmi and idira in cumrag? I asked solitaire where jimmi was and he spewed some clownspeak at me, couldn't ask about idira for some reason, or rather the option disappeared after i asked about jimmi
If I'm not mistaken it's after a fight in the arena and homunculus man is about to run off, you have to ask him to leave your other companions behind because he won't need them anymore. You then can go up a platform and they should be locked in cages.
I just found a bunch of spirit stones randomly lying around, so why was Yrlie's stone breaking such a big deal again?
they are probably not empty. Also, surprised she didnt want to keep the stones we found on the janus eldar she didnt even say anything about them
Sometimes I just have no idea what the frick is going on in this game. I used my officer's extra turn on Pasqal, rocked a bunch of shitheads at the funeral, and then the turn Pasqal gets after that he still has a bunch of extra attacks? I mean I'll take it, but half the time I don't even understand all the extra buffs and actions and shit that my party are benefiting from.
You and me both. It also doesn't help there are a number of combat bugs too. I ran into one a lot where I couldn't move or use any actions, almost like it locked a specific character out of combat. I also had a number of other ones too, but they fixed them with the earlier patches.
In that same fight, I used the baton pass off the heroic action extra turn and gave the leftover mp/ap to Abelard, but he just locked up and couldn't do anything, and that was a couple hours ago so it's definitely current patch.
Speaking of, in case you're curious
How does endorsing illegal aliens and gypsies improve security?
They step out in the open thinking they're safe. Then you release the dogs. Then everyone else is safer.
Ask rogue trader in ch3 l m a o
>Jae and Ylriet
HOLY STONKS
I thought inquisitors were buttholes but Henrix seems pretty nice so far.
He pretty much stays that way the entire time too, he's a bro for the most part.
Well, he's not a full inquisitor. He hasn't had time to get a stick stuck REALLY far up his ass.
Nah, they're all chill bros
Listen to his advices, he's a bro
>get to chapter 4
>want to respec Idira and Heinrix because it's boring having Abelard and Argenta carrying everyone
>don't want to go through 30+ fricking levels for both to do so
>his heinrix doesn't carry everyone along with argenta
skill issue. he's better than abelard for me. better damage, better speed, better utility.
Heinrich has more potential for me, but Abelard is just consistent and effective. There's never a point where I can find Abelard's turn pop up and I get disappointed.
If I get him into melee with his thunder hammer, he deletes entire zip-codes worth of small fry, or ruins one large threat's day.
If he can't get into melee, I use him to buff everyone else's movement and armor, while he eats enemy fire like it's banana bread.
unfortunately, abelard fell of hard for me in the second half of chapter 2 because of his speed. he almost always went last so by that time there wasn't really anyone left
Yeah I dealt with the same issue. Even though I gave him the +3 movement boots he still almost always went last and was just so fricking slow. At least his charge helped a little.
Almost the entire game I ran with Pasqal, Jimmi, Yrliet, Abelard, and Cassia. Fantastic crew. Later on I'd swap out Abe for Marazhai now and again.
>Everyone is whining about waifus
>My RT is a e-girl so I don't give a frick about any of that
feels good
>My RT is a e-girl
How
Anon, everything is possible with mental illnesses
Theodora did it as a joke.
Momentum is a dumb system. It should be per unit. Current system just incentivizes you to dump all buffs into one unit and Juggernaut the entire fight.
That's what I did every single battle. Half my buffs went on to Cassia, the other half went on to Yrliet. If Yrliet didn't finish off every enemy with her absurd damage and tons of turns, Cassia would just nuke the entire map.
Incredibly un-warhammer like. Live by the morale, die by the morale
Yeah. It's extremely snowball-y since the instant you pop off one heroic act, you'll be popping off heroic acts for the rest of the round.
>20 to 30 enemies v 6 maximum PCs
Nah, you're just a b***h.
>I am the Rogue Trader, I am such a powerful figure in the sector. Look at all the decisions I make over billions of lives
>OH NO ITS CHAPTER THREE HELP ME TERVANTIAS PLEASE IM CRYING WITH SNOT IN MY NOSE PLEASE IM SO FRICKING PATHETIC I BOW DOWN BEFORE THE XENOS FRICK HUMANITY WE'RE SO FRICKING WEAK A BLOO BLOO BLOO
....why?
Around elves, watch yourselves.
Yeah even ignoring it, it reeks of awful writer's pet notes. It's all just...lame.
so wtf happens at the end of chapter 2 if you just merc yrliet the second you meet her like a true dogmachad? the aliens just show up out of nowhere for no reason and are like "lol, surprise!"
achilleas betrays you
Did you even read the dialogue the first time around?
Achilleas gets druccbroken, sells you out, gets turned into a Wrack for the trouble, and Heinrix is in denial about the whole thing.
Can't you talk with Achilleas in this route? With Jimmi in your party that is
In my run I couldn't free Jimmy before talking to him, and he didn't show up afterwards.
I might have missed something or it might have been a bug.
ok, so if marazhai needed me for whetever keikaku he had planned (i still don't fricking know what it was all about) why did he try to kill me constantly? none of his provocations have anything to do with it, it seems
Option to let yrliet become wych when
Yrliet is flat and autistic, they don't admit either into the Cults.
How are you supposed to beat the Drukhari patrols in act 2? Those macro batteries fricking destroy my ship, no way I can kill 2 destroyers every turn for 10 turns.
set difficulty to story mode
Legit set the game to the lowest difficulty. Pretty sure that event is supposed to occur much later in the game.
Killing one a turn should be good enough. The key there is to move as far away as possible whenever new ships spawn in so they can't immediate join in while you're cleaning up the previous spawns. The torpedos you can get from Janus development are helpful since they'll one-shot the ships and can be dropped every turn, but those might be locked behind some RP decisions you won't want to make. Really, all you need is the warp jump level-up upgrade to make extra space.
If you get the upgrade to get a 2nd ship from the forge world, it becomes much more doable.
But it's still hard. Torpedoes are your best friend for the fight, since any of them instakill one of those small ships.
>Kill them before the next enemy group shows up
>Get a victory screen, immediately continue with the fight while losing a turn instead
Thanks, Owlcat
>last playthrough I spammed spells all the way up to and including at max veil
>Idira exploded like once
>this playthrough I've already summoned a screamer and a plaguebearer casting at near 0 and I only just got to the main chapter 1 planet
Oh yeah, this game has shotguns.
Did anyone actually use them?
You're kidding, right?
I usually use them instead of a melee weapon for my ballistics characters.
shotguns are legit
good alternative to my flamer as a secondary to a machine gun for my AM characters
how important is it to get the chirurgeons medikits?
The seeker of the weak item does seem useful for my pyromancer
>waiting in lines at the administratum
This fricking game
>waiting patiently gives you a cheevo
>and an overdue paper, forcing you to redo everything
That's pretty neat. I am impressed by how well Owlcat have captured the silliness of warhammer while still playing it perfectly straight.
Wait that can happen?
I did wait and luckily everything was in order, honestly I would have loved an option to send all my party back, watch Jae try to weasel her way out as well and just hold her back telling her to keep me company.
Yeah. NPCs involved even have new lines regarding your comeback kek
The achievement actually made me laugh. I just waited and waited simply because I was curious if they'd let you and what would happen. Hey at least you get something for that fricking bullshit.
how does yrliet feel about me selling soul stones to the kassabalica
Do you think the DLC's will add any alternative endings for the established companions? I haven't played the other Owlcat games to know their modus operandi.
no
Lame.
>Captain, a Tech Priest saboteur has been captured.
>I will speak with him.
>Very well. The prisoner will be brought to you.
>nothing happens
Owlcaaaaaaaat
It's omnissiah time, unzip your toybox
This picture is the perfect encapsulation of Commoragh, and I hate that.
so why do some enemies interrupt your turns and just do whatever the frick?
>reduce enemie's ws to 1
>he still hits you 100% of the time
i don't undertsnad how this game works
Melee attacks always hit
Then it's his WS vs your WS to try to perry (assuming you have a melee weapon in your hand, otherwise you don't get to perry) if you have 30 WS vs his 1 that's a 30 base +29 difference in skill to perry. 59%
Then you get a chance to dodge. 30 base + your agi - enemy perspective - 1/ 2 enemies agi.
If you have a range weapon out and have like no agility you are probably going to get hit every time even if he has like 1 WS. Because it's not factored in at all. If your character isn't using both weapon slots you can end your turn with any basic sword and you will get a chance to perry.
i don't know what to tell you, man. a c**t with 1 ws attacking abelard who has 70k and didn't miss once. and it didn't just happen once. the mechanics make no sense, or the game just ignores them whenever it fricking wants to
Open the combat dialogue window and post a screen cap of the report it gives you.
Every enemy next to Abelard gives a combat disadvantage. Thats a 10 WS penalty for every enemy past the first in melee range.
>Every enemy next to Abelard gives a combat disadvantage
they don't. he has a talent. and it was just one enemy that time. doesn't fricking matter - i'm gonna try to figure out why the game is pants on heads moronic sometimes. if it cheats then so shall i
Look up selective bias. In other words you're a b***h who thinks a program is out to "cheat" you.
Post the combat log or don't reply to me anymore. No drama just can't help you if you don't actually want help. I can only guess at the problem for so long.
I always wonder when I make posts like this if they are helpful to anyone or am I just wasting my breath.
so unless you use toybox, stop at the end of chapter 2 until more patches?
pretty much
guess I can go back to my sword saint wotr playthrough then
You can play a bit into Chapter 3 if you want, but yeah the game really starts breaking down there.
Even chapter 2 is bugged badly near the end. If you get a dialogue mentioning "techsorsism" you probably have a bricked save and you'll realize why only in chapter 4, unable to do anything about it but reload and have to redo the entire frickawful chapter 3.
in my save I think I might have missed out on nomos
I told him he has to obey and now nothing happened with him after that initial conversation. Pascal wasn't even talking to him at the event on dargonus
Nomos quest bugged?
I think I'm about to finish act 3 properly
but if you ally with marzipan in the second arena fight then have him killed in the pit afterwards the game bugs the frick out
Do act 1 decisions revisit you later in the story? What's the consequence of taking the generator and running away
It's contaminated. Leave it all behind and exterminatus away
All those people get sent to California.
Every time
cumrag is such a mess. it's not even the bugs, or not just them, but because everyone seems to have vastly different experience with it. people somehow miss ulfar, whereas in my game I recruited him immediately when he became available. Events triggering at different times, some are not triggering at all, character being in different places, and no one can tell when it's intentional and when it's a bug
Still think you're the hero, Iconocucks?
Always
of course they do. as long as they get to feel good about themselves here and now they don't care about what happens later
>the girl gets a good ending in ending slides
We win yet again
>ending slides
I'm not going to see the promised return on this am I
Realistically speaking, would a crime lord RT actually be an iconoclast, or just a mix of heretic and a bit of dogmatic since he's still loyal to the emperor?
he could be anything really. or maybe he'd be an enlightened centrist doing what needs to be done for profit
I'd say a mix of iconoclast and heretic, like Jae
>ignores that the dad was literally about to murder his own daughter
>dad tries to kill her for the inheritence otherwise
Yes.
What's the best build for Pasqal and Idira? I don't want to bother setting up grand strategist zones? Also when should I upgrade Argenta from longlas? She's carrying the party really hard.
i just made them both bounty hunters but i don't actually use bounty hunter abilities. idira is a psyker, so she's gonna psyke. and pasqal is an operative with plasma turret, so he's gonna be doing that
The trap is nice though.
get argenta on a heavy bolter or stubber STAT
for pascal just use him as a plasma turret, make sure to get the talent that refunds one AP with every plasma shot, with finest hour he can make 11 shots per turn. 2nd archetype doesn't really matter too much, but grand strat is quite useful, even if you just slap down the rear zone where your sniper is and forget it
>Pasqal
Probably using Tactical Knowledge while maxing out Plasma weapons and then hitting him with Finest Hour! so he can shoot infinitely... well, until he spends all his AP on reloads, at any rate.
>Idira
Unquestionably self-buffing with Tactical Knowledge and then nuking the battlefield with Pain Channeling via Psychic Scream or Psychic Barrage.
where is ulfar's armour in commoragh? He's running around butt naked, it's distracting the local female populace
Right next to where you got him
Just got a Halo Device. Equip on Abelard? Yes or no?
Oh, wait. Only the RT can equip it. Never mind. Guess I'll go insane in a different playthrough.
equip it on your dick, dumbass
Equip it on yourself. It will be fun, I promise
Do not halo device
>"A Halo device." Heinrix reaches out sharply and pries the mysterious object from your hand. "A cursed xenos creation that twists the mind, and soon the body, of its master. An item subject to the Inquisition's general decree of total annihilation. In this matter, my authority exceeds your privilege, Lord Captain."
>"That is enough, elantach!" Yrliet swiftly knocks the device out of your hand. It tumbles away into the darkness until a distant thud announces that it has fallen into the wreckage. "I will not allow you to destroy yourself!"
>The Drukhari's movement is almost too swift to be registered by the eye. Marazhai slaps the device out of your hand with a perfunctory swing. The mysterious artefact flies off into the darkness and, judging by the clatter, falls through some crevice. The xenos turns his gaze to you. "No, {name}. No trinket will ever compete with me for your attention."
are these real?
Yes
my cute yandere bf is so thoughtful
>investigate chorda's frozen planet
>"that's it marazhai we're gonna kill some xenoses sharpen your knives"
>OH FRICK YES.mp3
>gets locked into a party on the landing screen
>and gets literally zero lines while in there, just slaughter
Why is he like this
let the slaughter spell his love letter for you
The blade he uses for branding pretty much does the same job
You forgot the clownnose
It's a penis pump. You spend 200-300 years pumping, getting more and more pumped and finally you're too swole to control and rip a hole thru the time and space continuum.
>even Marazhai is put off by it
how bad are these fricking things?
They're the comfiest shit ever, for awhile.
They turn you into an eldritch vampire who's personality is slowly merged with a being from the darkest abyss, making you see dreams of ancient black cities and knowledge that would turn your mind into mush. You are slowly going insane and your desires are replaced with ravenous hunger and drive for something from beyond the stars. And you also cannot die. Like people will have to throw you into the star to kill you.
The guy you looted the halo device from? He probably got up after you left.
>You are slowly going insane
No...
No...!
Is that... is that...TENTACLES? AHHH EMPEROR PROTECT ME I'M GOING INSAAAAAAAAAAANE
It's less tentacles and more your mind being merged/replaced with an eldritch being.
>it's just an excuse to put a fricking dracula into warhammer 40k
this shit is not as cool or scary as you guys think it is
except dracula ha dreams of creepy, impossibly old alien civilizations
and dracula is still cool
She DOES care!
Do you only get these dialogues if you romance Marzipan and Yrliet or do they happen anyway?
Yrliet 100% happens without romance
Where do you find it anyway?
At an abandoned palace in the Mundus Nullius system in Chapter 4.
I vaguely remember that palace. Must not have picked the right choice.
Huh. Actually surprised Marzipan would do that. Despite being an butthole he's still a good lad.
He has his moments
>"Whatever comes, I am glad to have fought shoulder to shoulder with you."
>Marazhai smiles thinly. "Careful — or else I might think you have gone soft and weak." After a moment's hesitation, he adds, in a quieter and more agitated tone: "I will say this only once, {name}: you are the reason for all my misfortunes, but you are also the reason why I survived — despite the fury of all Commorragh and the wrath of the Black Heart. Consider this confession an expression of my gratitude."
Heretical path gives you the chance to offer him to the daemonette, shit like this makes me almost regret doing it. ANyway that particular encounter is bugged to frick so I feel like either killing him or ignoring it.
are the halo devices linked to some sort of insectile xenos civilization or something
has the inquisition even tested how it works if you give it to an ork or a tyranid (before quickly shoving it out the gellar field quickly)
Qrd on what a halo device is?
it turns you into vampire
Turns the host into a neigh-unkillable gigga homie that can eat tanks and shrug off sustained bolter fire.
Effectively, they become a vampire, including a distaste for solar radiation, eating flesh, and drinking blood to heal any other injuries, up to the point of immortality.
The problem is that they are consumed by the hunger for life and can depopulate an entire hive of a few billion people in short order.
Oh, and if they are killed, they can reform elsewhere. Unless they are burnt to ashes, in which case they can be revived if blood touches the ashes.
Grimmer, darker, vamprie-er vampires.
How exactly is Argenta's quest in act 4 supposed to work? I am pretty sure it is broken for me
>Go down to planet
>Kill the cultists
>Game start freezing very bad
>She leaves, return to ship, she comes back
>Apparently this is supposed to be concluded, but there's still entry for that quest in journal
what would happen if the imperium stuffed a halo device into the emperor
are you seriously saying that the reason why dark eldar raided my palace was so that they could recuit achilleas?
That's how shit writers usually operate, yes
>literally in the middle of a hellhole after getting tortured and fighting for our lives
>btw i killed theodora 🙂
dumb bolter b***h
It's fine, you get a better Arch-Militant to replace her.
Why would I replace her? She made me rich as frick.
i didn't really give a shit about theodora and maybe she shouldn't have been a heretic if she didn't want to get merc'd, but the timing of that confession was fricking moronic, especially with idira and abelard in the hearing distance
No it's actually very logical from her perspective, it's not like you're going to execute or banish her when you're 30 seconds from a fight for your life.
Btw the fact that she drops this line in the exact moment where you can least afford to BLAM her on the spot pretty much sealed my view of her as a psychopath that puts up a kind and charitable act with her idiotic moralgay virtue signalling.
Sure felt out of nowhere and kind of makes the mystery feel inconsequential.
It really sucks to lose a companion and their quests but how the hell do you justify keeping Idira alive after what she did
Did what
she predicts the future
She is more useful than the desk-hands that she got killed.
Or maybe because your feelings got in the way and she swears she won't do it again, but for really reals this time!
Or the fact she helped you not die during the opening section, and personally was the reason I beat the prologue boss after some bad luck. He warp-instabilitied a blue horror out when I shouldn't have seen those things for another chapter.
Other than that, Emperor's peace the girl.
She summoned a warp creature that tried to destroy the whole ship, that's more than just getting a few crew members killed.
>She gave you free XP and didn't even ask for anything but a peck on the cheek
Truly the best girl, shame there's no romance
My bedroom got invaded by daemons on a normal warp trip, twice. Shapeshifters infested the docking bays, people turned into instruments, and warp fungus made peoples' heads explode.
Daemons on the ship is pretty much just another Tuesday.
Killed a few expendables on the lower decks because of a psyker moment? A slap on the wrist and a cut on her salary (does 40k even has a concept for salaries?) should be enough. Even when you don't account to how much of a machine she is at killing, her predictions are always 100% right and they're not too cryptic, I figured out at least half the plot just by listening to her.
>does 40k even has a concept for salaries
Usually not. You have local currencies that are useless elsewhere and the closest thing to a universal currency is the imperial gelt. About 99% of the populace never even saw one.
Then what the frick the is [give alms] option you get sometimes? Do you throw israeliteelry or something similar?
Perhaps. Maybe it was a local coin, maybe it was a gem and maybe you had a half eaten kit-kat on you.
I reloaded to not let Argenta blam her on the spot only for her to get one of the first turns in the subsequent combat, use a psyker power despite being at maximum veil degredation and then explode and be replaced by a blue horror.
If she wants to die that badly she can stay dead.
I don't. She signed her death warrant by losing control of herself, but my plan is to sacrifice her in a way that's most beenficial to me, by turning her into a daemonhost. She can be my Cherubael.
kek
Dumb elves.
Riddle me this, nerds. I understand that there are dialogue options for all three convictions (provided that your rank is high enough) to persuade Hieronymus Doloroso in Act 4, but was he actually a fenceshitter one step away from ditching the Emperor for (as suggested by me) Nurgle or my Heretic bullshit was simply magically strong enough to completely corrupt his mind? I don't really know how the Chaos things work in the setting.
He pretty much instigated the epidemic on footfall so, yes. He was already half way there.
Did you give him the book?
Yes. Does the book specifically unlock the Nurgle route for him? I recall there being two distinct Heretic dialogue options for some reason.
>Does the book specifically unlock the Nurgle route for him?
The book itself - no. The heretic option when you hand it over to him - yes. Dogmatic option is fine.
Considering that a level 2 heretic can convince a literal daemon engine to side with you, a level 4 can probably mind-frick an old man.
Chaos pulls from the warp, which is mental thoughts made manifest, so there's a bit of mindfrickery with it as standard. You didn't think many person decided to tear out their own eyes in good faith and using common sense, did you?
How are you even supposed to "properly" do heretic route in footfall act4? Step by step. My game broke hard, but I may be able to salvage it still
My day 1 saves were completely fricked so I had to restart after some non-hotfix patches. There's still no proper way to do it. You're expected to be at Fanatic rank when you start Act 4 but there's no way to have it by then. I did all I could and in the end I was still 20 something points short. So I Toyboxed in some points. After that I noticed new Colony projects that give Heretic points. And that was still not enough to max Heretic tree. I believe pre-Act 4 dialogue options that have specific rank required were simply not giving you any points which I noticed happening from time to time.
Not sure how I got fanatic and half way to zealot by act 3 then
What about footfall itself? You land in there, and then what? Go to Hieronymus? Side with Chorda? Side with a Baldman via heretic route?
The Imperium is fundamentally a crypto-Chaos cult in the first place, they probably sustain Khorne and Nurgle as a cohesive entities on their own.
Owlcat should've given Theodora a voice. Even Jamandi got some lines.
>Theodora has no voice lines
>Edelthrad doesn't have a portrait
>but the bartender in footfall and even the fellowship vendor at the bar get one
owlkek are all over the place with this, if even minor NPCs you talk to once in the shadowrun games can all get a portrait owlkek have no excuse
The bartender can become Kasballica's rep if you side against Baldman
>my Assassin has 200% dodge unbuffed
KEK. Nothing personnel enemies.
>word bearer appears in the starport
>everyone loses their will to live
>metal starts playing
holy fricking kino this absolutely mogs kingmaker and wotr, but the fight shoud've had multiple steps with the chaos marine losing more of his armor to really hammer in how hard it is to kill one.
Who would win
>a 10000 years old super-human killing machine fueled by the unholy powers of the warp
or
>1 cute nun
Frick you that's sad.
>ArgentaOrigins.gif
Frick that, he could barely hit the broad side of a barn. The real boss was the sniper all the way on the corner of the arena.
>everyone starts talking like they're going to die
>he single shots abelard for 6 damage then never gets another turn before i rape him to death
mmm.
He spends most of the fight trying to destroy the shuttles and you just fight adds. Owlcat have no idea how to make an interesting boss encounter so every single one just summons a bunch of trash.
>world beaner appears
>dies to Abelard soloing him by turn 2 only because Argenta was unavailable due to getting 1shot by the sniper
yeah, nah
eh his death fits he got attacked by a:
Sister of battle,Techpriest with a plasma rifle,a navigator,a inquisitor,a Imperial gurad general or psyker and finally unsactioned psyker or worst of them all a old dude with a stick(abelard)
An old man with a stick has historically been one of the most terrifying foes in Warhammer media, Fantasy or 40k.
Best voice acting in the game too.
fully upgraded Ulfar looks pretty dope
He is a fricking Space Wolf
Of course he will look lame
'dope' means 'cool', esl friend
Wiggerspeak isn't English.
Calm down, Lion
literally who?
The shade of blue here with the lighting looks a bit off. If it weren't for the bits of wolfy wolf attached to the armor I could mistake him for a smurf.
I still wish we got a Blood Raven. Shit imagine if we got Aramus or Thaddeus. IIRC Those two were on a penance crusade following Chaos Rising.
Aramus would be awesome. Especially if he had a habit of always finding extra loot in any battle he was involved in.
>"Old habits die hard."
Does someone have to go to Terra specifically to become sanctioned? Could a RT have enough pull to get someone from Terra to come to them and sanction Idira?
Not even close
Is the quest in Act 4 with Winterscale supposed to just end after he kills the demon and gets injured? The quest marked as completed, and his ship is gone from the map, so I assume all's finished? Weirdly anticlimactic if so.
Also, when is Argenta's personal quest to find the lost world or whatever? Act 4 and it still hasn't happened
Whenever you find it big boy
How are you supposed to handle heretic Winterscale resolution anyway
I dunno, I just told him his offsider was a heretic and the dude turned into a demon, Winterscale killed it but got injured badly and that was the end of it
>Foulstone is a whole ass colony world
man can't believe i just killed everybody and pillaged it on heretic run lol
I restarted in early act 4 for that. It was worth it.
What caste of T'au would you want in the game?
>Hardmode: No waifubait
As long as I get to slaughter them any is fine
The only way tau appearing would make sense is if they were slaves in commoragh
There is (was?) actually a warpgate leading from the Eastern Fringe to Koronus.
Hey now, it could be another diplomatic exchange 😉
Earth Caste shortstack tomboy.
are Idira and the vox b***h having sweaty scissoring sex
Thoughts on Jae?
None at all
best girl and best romance
too bad I already have two officers
Like a tumor she really grows on you
She is growing on me, and I find myself considering going for the romance. But then fish has a scene where the screen goes all sparkly and she's talking about nice colours and my doubt subsides for another couple of hours.
You can screw both.
I only recruited her once in the alpha and never did that again. The whimsical dialogue makes me cringe and she's not interesting at all.
Does steady superiority stack?
>a fricking drukhari is making a visible effort to not be disresepctful to you
>never betrays you
>makes an effort to include you in his cultural practices
>is fun to have around
>meanwhile yrliet: monke, monke, monke, monke. It;s an eldar thing, you woudln't get it
yrliet is such a fricking wet rag jesus christ
She needs dick correction from an aspect warrior
Unfortunately we don't have that on our ship, would a normal rape correction perhaps suffice?
Jimmi or Marazhai could break her but it wouldn't fix her
Is Yrliet's romance basically the RT being her emotional tampon?
Is there a way to change my officer MC archetype? Fish is an officer, I don't want two of them in the party, but I do enjoy my lady fish
Restart.
two officers will break the game, and you want to be using all of fish's talents and abilities for her navigator stuff anyway
Two officers is good. You will be spending all of Fish's talents on navigator powers anyway. Plus you can diverge at the second archetype.
a bit late but Merry Christmas 🙂
I am a navigatorrrrr
NOT a servitor
>Getting the urge to play Arch-Militant in a melee+ranged way
That 2xBS to WS and 2xWS to BS sounds juicy
>melee+ranged way
why though?
AM has a skill that allows you to fire in melee range and has extra skills for heavy weapons
hell going melee is actually bad for AM
Full melee AM is entirely viable. It's just not as good as ranged spec because you can't kill 10 enemies before combat starts with melee.
Not that guy but force sword + melta is hellova fun. You are spread too thin on traits and less effective than pure anything but it's really comfy when you have 5+ separate ways to make a Black person take a dive.
What are the conditions of different conclusions for Argenta's act 4 quest? Namely her being not allowed into ship, which apparently means something is wrong?
I already had other companion's quest completely fricked and needing toybox to fix already, I suspect this one is as well.
I uninstalled the game to avoid raping the SSD for years while I'm not playing it. I'm so hecking excited for an "enhanced edition" that doesn't change all that much. Maybe boost those conviction gains as a stopgap...
Now that the dust has settled, can we at least all agree that RT is a step back from WotR?
no, it's a step foreward
Prologue to chapter 2 was more enjoyable (for me) than most of Wrath (fricking prebuffing), but otherwise it's a bigger blunder.
100%. But to each their own.
>now that I'm a gay Black person let's all agree I'm a gay Black person
Agreed.
Get back to work Owlcat employee.
Query. They're both owlcat games. Conclusion.Your post within the expected moronic parameters for (You) Resolution.have a nice day low effort shitposter.
You're never going to get people to agree because the 40k community is full of people with advanced autism.
>implying mathfinder is any different
Everything before chapter 3 is great. Chapter 3 is the blunder of the century and I can't be bothered with ch4 and on because my save's bugged now
Nah, RT is better.
t. stopped playing right at the end of chapter 2, going to wait for DLC+bug fixes
Is the game worth picking up, or should I wait until they start pumping in DLC?
You'd best wait, it's too busted. Up until and not really including chapter 3 it's enjoyable though.
you should wait until they fix the most egregorous bugs. so a couple of months at least. Unless you really like the setting or the genre, then play, but be prepared for the bugs
You spared Yrliet because you wished she'd put out.
I spared Yrliet because I want her to live her long life with the emotional burden that she failed and betrayed the one person in the galaxy that was willing to have her back, even over her own kin.
I spared her because I'm an eldargay and I'd rather be playing as her
that makes you a double troony
I haven't decided what I'll do with her yet but I love Yrliet and will bend a few dogmatic principles to see more of her. I probably won't be able to justify keeping her on the ship but it would be nice if she showed some signs of growth in the next two chapters, though I doubt it's there.
i was bent on giving her to the inquisition but playing through chapter 3 and talking to marazhai made me feel sorry for her, she's so pathetic and sad. i now want her to join the clowns, that oughta cheer her up
Chapter 3 just makes it more and more clear just how weak and immature she is despite her arrogance. Considering their lifespan it's actually a bit incredible how childish the Eldar are.
Just finished the game, this has probably the worst second half of any Owlcat game yet.
Jesus.
what's the second half?
Chapter 4 and onwards?
I'd say Act 3 onwards. Act 4 is maybe half to 2/3rds as long as act 2, act 5 has at best the same length as act one.
I never made it to the second half of KM on release because it became unplayable with scripting errors way before that.
When purely comparing the two probably not but I expected them to have learned from Kingmaker and Wrath and this is clearly a step back from Wrath's second half except you're going to shitty demon town again but it never improves again.
grim
I just started act 3 with two of my characters and I've been loving the game so far, disappointing to here the game drops off that hard
To be fair we didn't have toybox back then. Now RT is beatable with some omnissiah worshiping
Worse than Kingmaker? Doubt.
Yeah. It's KM-on-release tier of shitshow
Even if all the bugs were fixed, Chapter 3 would just be unbearably shit. the absolute epitome of "that part" in a vidya game that makes you never replay it ever again
Is there any way to prevent Jimmy from killing Emelina in Act 4?
If I pass the test will this be as broken as I think it will?
It says the item is destroyed, so it only works one time ever. not that big of a deal
It says they gain Paradox Solved that lets them heroic act whenever they want
you can only heroic act once a battle (twice with Arch Militant)
I havent tried it yet but it doesnt say the paradox solves features is a one time use, it sounds like you can spam heroic acts with it.
What this adds up to is an additional extra turn from one of your officers, so instead of killing all the enemies before initiative starts with 12 attacks from Argenta, you'll be able to do it with 15 or more attacks from Argenta.
>both male love interests are warrior assassins
hmm... owlcat writer has a type?
What did I think of it?
Hated ship battles
In hindsight, the ship battles were the best balanced and most strategic part of the game.
>CRPG combat: 900 numbers and formulas over 50 levels and innumerable features and items all add up to "argenta instawins round 1"
>Ship combat: have to actually think about positioning, using abilities at the right time can swing a battle, get punished hard for failing but if you play well you can trounce the enemy too
People shit on space battles, but it is legit best minigame in all of Owlcat games. It mogs WotR HoMM-shit for sure.
>but it is legit best minigame in all of Owlcat games
it is, and it has potential to be great if only they didn't throw obviously end game battle at you 3 fricking hours in
>Vomit shit and piss
>Piss is the best
Okay, but still hard pass
Tabletop BFG is pretty janky but can be fun if you play it with people who aren't just trying to make the most broken fleets possible. I wish the battles would actually allow you to set up your own fleet more than what we got.
Its not BFG it's FFG own space combats system which was never fixed despite the efforts.
But anyway, unlike HoMM clone it's actually interesting and require strategy and understanding of what are you doing
nah i liked ship battles, the regular battles got old by the end as there is basically zero challenge except for a few space marine fights
My only issue is that you only get 1 ship against potentially 3 that all have torpedoes and fighters
The fact that you can't outwit the Dark Eldar ambush and escape while exclaiming that this is the day they will always remember as the day they almost captured Lord Captain von Valancius will haunt me forever.
Need to make a mod that lets you do this and skip chapter 3, would be god tier QoL for replaying the game
>Fighting in Von Valancius Palace against xeno scum
>My main damage dealer RT goes down
>Pasqal, Jimmi and Cassia go down
>Only Abelard and Yrliet are left
>LET'S DO THIS
>Abelard thanks everything like a champ
>Yrliet slowly plinks down and uses that Assassin talent that makes enemies ignore her
>Takes eighteen(18) turns
>Finally do it
>The moment I start to save power goes out
ngh...SINDRIIIIIIIIII
what difficulty?
Hard. Granted the fight isn't hard unless your RT/Argenta goes down, but it was a fun experience.
Thank fricking god this game isn't popular among normies and schizos. these threads are top comfy, and on Ganker too of all place
>spare an unsanctioned psyker after she shits the bed hard
>the sister of battle makes a weak protest
>the fricking inquisitor says nothing
so this... is the power of being a rouge trader...
>hand the unsanctioned psyker over to the inquisition the millisecond I get the chance
>everyone acts like she's still around
>including the Lord Inquisitor himself
>even get lines from her when scanning planets
>quest bugs out because it expects me to talk to her
>whenever Idira isn't on screen, characters keep asking "Where's Idira?"
She had to return to her home planet.
>marazhai pronounces cegorach [kekorak]
k-kek?
H-huh?
Yes that's the proper pronounciation, it's also the clown god's question.
Kek or Ack?
Holy shit
No? it should be pronounced [segorak]?
You're thinking about Elder Scrolls, anon.
when the frick do you pronounce ce as ke in english?
Eldar language isn't exactly english, is it?
sure sounds like it
That's because the ginger moron who was trained wrong as a joke keeps pronouncing Mon Kai as manki
was marazhai trained wrong as a joke as well. wait is that why they both become clowns?
Yes, the Eldar are a big joke on galactic scale. That's why all their gods except the clown are either dead or getting chaos dick 24/7
Random drukhari enemies pronounce it like that as well.
>he can't into elf
Never read Appendix F to Lord of the Rings?
YJK
the Emperor penetrates
bruh
I like how Drukhari didn't even touch the Servitor in your palace. It's the little things.
Is this Cassia's future?
Ah yes, "mutations" they call it.
Boobs not veiny enough
Is there a way of making Burst good in Act 1?
I keep hearing about how amazing it all is but Argenta always does vastly better in Act 1 with Longlas and sniping enemies.
Also, what's the best burst shit to rush for in Act 2 assuming it gets better there?
>Is there a way of making Burst good in Act 1?
Flamer
it really comes online once you can get arch militants (2nd tier archetype)
just keep stacking versatility, ignore stuff like confidant approach and keep blasting
the Take Aim! officer buff is great too
>ignore stuff like confidant approach
But isn't the instant critical from Confident good?
Well, I'll give it a try in Act 1 still, but isn't her starter Bolter utter, complete shit?
I do know it's pathetically easy to increase BS through Officer Voice of Command boosted by Focus talent even early anyways.
>But isn't the instant critical from Confident good?
no, arch militants have 100% crit effortlessly without it
once you stack enough versatility you get crits regardless
I think confidant approach also removes the buff to BS and WS you get from versatility (you can keep half with a specific trait but it's not worth it imo)
Confident Approach gives 5% dodge reduction and parry reduction per stack.
Attacks always crit, but deal -(50-(Crit Chance/2))% less damage.
If you have 4 stacks of Versatility, you always deal max damage of you weapon.
It's worth it I think. Stacking crit chance to a 100% removes damage malus and you can do so easily, crits are always more damaging even when you have a bit of a malus, dodge reduction is good, and if you take the talent that let's you keep half the versatility normal bonus, you are looking at every shot landing.
I am sure someone ran the numbers, maybe it's not worth the investment, but you are dealing so much damage regardless that you are not gimping yourself if you go that route.
>Confident Approach gives 5% dodge reduction and parry reduction per stack.
per stack of versatility?
Yes. Both it and Cautious Approach work off Versatility stacks.
The most important thing about confident approach is cover reduction. Cover doesn't give a frick about your 800% chance to hit, it applies a notable reduction to effective hit chance regardless. You just switch it off. All enemies are now in the open effectively. Crit redistribution is just a bonus, it's a net gain in damage as long as you have any existing crit multi bonuses btw, which soldier and AM stacks a lot.
Honestly it might be the most important thing. Just never had a problem with enemies in cover once I fire 16 shots with burst, each dealing 40+ damage.
you get a tonne of dmg bonuses from BS from talents and the best bolter for argenta does BS scaling extra dmg
and you can get a talent that gives you armor pen based on BS when firing heavy weapons point blank unless I'm misremembering
get an autogun until you can get a heavy bolter/stubber
Higher firerate=bigger damage
Confident approach is the default mode after getting a talent that leaves half of normal bonuses on it lmao
You don't need to have 500 BS to hit shit, especially after enemy dodge and cover stops existing with confident approach up. Meanwhile guaranteed crits are very useful for certain mechanics, and forcing to always roll max damage is a fat damage boost to most weapons. The only detriment is some flat damage loss at high stacks, however you should have obscene amount of flat damage from master tactician anyway. You have one, right?
It becomes good after reaching certain BS threshold. It's not that high, if you get some sources of recoil reduction.
The second you replace her starting bolter with literally any gun, but high RoF is preferred
don't bother, act 1 is all about sniping and flamers
When do you even get a good Flamer in Act 1?
Is it in the last planet only?
>When do you even get a good Flamer in Act 1?
Just get the basic one from the pirate ship. I don't thing you get a better one in Act 1.
>Also, what's the best burst shit to rush for in Act 2 assuming it gets better there?
The best is probably precise bolter, but you'd need to get some PF and reputation first. Hotshot las is pretty great and you get for free early in act 2 right after landing on Janus.
In these threads we talk about everything BUT the gameplay. gg
are you moronic?
The posts literally above yours are talking about the gameplay
half of the posts in these threads all always about how to make the characters as busted as possible in gameplay
does the math cause you to stop reading?
Lurk more, buddy
This is a CRPG, moron. Why are we pretending reading isn't the gameplay?
On the Cautious/Confident approach question, I believe you can take Cautious Approach, stack it to high easily, and be able to dodge everything in the game. That seems like an interesting idea for a Melee/Ranged AM.
The counter point is you don't need to dodge anything if everyone else is dead.
You dodge everything anyway, because dead enemies who got wiped out before combat started due to damage focus can't hit you.
so do you wait until you have a decent amount of stack before taking either confidant/cautious or do you activate one at the start of every encounter?
I wait for 4 stacks, no idea if that is optimal, just seems right to get the most out of it.
Latter, to trigger pair holster. Pair holster is broken currently, however if it would work correctly the course of actions would be the same.
The romances where all shit. A israelite b***h
a mutan a xeno and a gay? Jeesus.
>a mutan
The cutest mutant there is
I for one will still love Cassia even when she's a fish.
Based fish lover
I will gift her the best fish food on the market
Is my understnading that shes basically going to turn into a deep one accurate?
Navigators inevitably suffer pretty extreme inhuman mutations. It's a roll of the dice but she's already quite fishy at a younger age than is normal for their genetics. She's probably gonna go pretty cthulhu mythos.
Their psychology doesn't change much however unless the patrovarwotsit dies and the Novators fight amongst themselves like Highlanders for leadership.
You'll still love her right?
>She'll cry if you don't
Give it to me straight boys. Should I pick it up now or wait for more patches?
wait
i finished it and act 4 is very buggy
act 5 is better but there's still one pretty shit bug (Ulfar quest not starting)
>Find a group of Eldar to save for Yrliet's quest
>It's nearly impossible to get the persuasion check to try to help them because it's a -30 difficulty class and Yrliet makes it, which means she'd have to take the persuasion skill perk
>Cheat to make the roll
>the eldar die anyway no matter what
What was the POINT
Suffering
>Kasballica sells an inquisition badge at high rep
>Item that forces all coercion checks to succeed automatically, so it's likely a real badge
Where did the baldo get that? Was it lost by one of Calcazar's people who had bit too much at Adeptus Amasecus because he was unable to get over his ex?
>That Only War Logistics roll that has a chance for your squad to get an Inquisitorial Rosette on accident
Hooooo boy that was fun pulling a Dark Heresy session on the bois
it was lost by one of the inquisition's finest agents
Pasqal, what are you doing in my mind?
Living rent free
I want to breed theodora and incendia
Abelard, do not announce these thoughts in my thread
this b***h...
I love her
She would shoot at warp storms if she could
>tell Doloroso I'm not interested in his chapter 2 Footfall quest
>Argenta gets pissed and goes off on her own to deal with it
>go find the cultists with a full party and Argenta is there as a bonus NPC ally
Nice
>her first turn, she runs up behind Heinrix and unloads a full burst into his back in an attempt to hit a cultist on the other side of the room
>spends her remaining turns retreating further and further into the hallway, no where near the fight
What did she mean by this?
I wish the game gave me the option to bring up slaanesh whenever yrliet spergs out over monkeigh
Stop pretending your race is a a faultless, virtuous species, it's your fault we're sitting with 4 major chaos gods instead of 3, shut up knife ear
>Stop pretending your race is a a faultless, virtuous species
Speedreader spotted. Yrliet brings up the failures of her people all the damn time.
>bring up slaanesh
The Eldar sharted out ONE chaos god, guess who awakened the other three.
not humanity, that's for sure
war in heaven is the new canon for the birth of the 3 chaos gods, isn't it?
I've come to the conclusion that Idira is the second sanest person in the party, after Abelard.
