They changed quite a lot of stuff for a bunch of monsters, for beholders for example, they removed their inherent superiority complex and constant paranoya:

The people making these decisions basically read 1984 as a manual and think that if you manage to erase the word 'race' then you can control how people think and manipulate the masses.

'll give you an answer. So far, Rogue Trader is the least pozzed game I've seen in good few years. It got to the point where Reddit got pissy, because there is no option to create a black PC.

the beta is about as milquetoast as it gets for 40k but their taste is still awful. the "pozz" is pretty much relegated to the romance options so far though.

maybe even too fast, wouldn't be a problem if you had to level up only one character but as it is now leveling up 6 characters in a row can be a chore, especially considering how many perks there are
combat is weird because tanky enemies are so tanky that attacking them without massively debuffing them is pointless
however you can stack so many debuffs on an enemy that you can end up doing like 60+ damage a hit to the even the tankiest enemies
it's weird to have pasqal barely do any attacking himself because he's simply better off buffing everyone else
There always needed to be some classic crpgs for 40k and WHF, the settings were screaming out for it.
Rogue Trader was the most obvious venue. though they could also have made an Inquisitor one where the intro of the game was you earning your Rosette and thus explaining why you aren't superpowered from the start (you haven't the same level of experience and resources accumulated as more veteran Inquisitors).
For Warhammer they could go more towards the Warhammer Quest route, that way players could get more variety in their party and the ability to explore across the face of the warhammer world instead of a party of rat catchers and dung shovelers struggling to fight a pair of gobbos.
That space marine is a joke. Honestly, the hidden sniper pocketed away in the corner of the map for that encounter is much worse. Luckily my character had a longrifle.
Tried the demo, went as far as the Navigator recruitment mission. It was pretty great.
What I'm looking forward to though is the character creation being fully completed. Want to see what all of the options do and see all the origins and classes fully fleshed out.

How is the ship combat? Does it hit this time or miss like every other mini game mechanic that owlcat has added in their games (like the kingdom management, crusade battles, etc) ?
To be fair ship combat or business management isn't something Owlcat just added in this case, they were both things that came from the original Rogue Trader tabletop rpg.
Is this going to be like their pathfinder games (especially the second one) where combat is either going with some lame cheese build that one shots enemies or building to stack increasingly massive numbers of buffs so that left number > right number regardless of dice roll?
There's alot of opportunities to kill your potential party members in this game, has there been any word on if you'll be able to make generic squaddies to fill the gaps in your retinue?
Apparently the reason the SoB isn't romanceable in this game is because the writer for her doesn't like romantic content (its the same person that wrote the gnome hellknight in WotR)
so far he's literally the only one that's clean but you can have his family executed so not sure if he stays that way. you kinda ask for it at that point though.

The different paths doesn't seem like much and it feels weird compared to WOTR with real, albeit paths with variation in quality. Imperialis, hereticus and benevolent is nothing more than simple dialog choices, which the game should show and employ for roleplay measures in addition to something else like WOTR paths. I do not feel quite optimistic for the game yet.
You have to understand 40k isn't a nice place and most nobility don't even consider anyone else to count as people. Just go and ask your High Factotum what he thinks about your Vox Master. the beta is about as milquetoast as it gets for 40k but their taste is still awful. the "pozz" is pretty much relegated to the romance options so far though.

You already have shit that buffs you for 1 turn but to give them credit where it's due theres loads of buffs that last till the end of the combat. I wish that games that have that kind of ammount of buffs (and more) would just at some point get them all toegether and "since you are so powerful and so high lvl all those different buffs are now one skill you don't have to 435345 cast things just to get into the meat of things".

I started playing this kind of RPG very recently and have been moving from the modern games to the older ones and I find myself enjoying the older ones more.
So far NWN1 is my favorite and when I lose an encounter it feels like I sucked and not like it was bullshit.

There always needed to be some classic crpgs for 40k and WHF, the settings were screaming out for it.
Rogue Trader was the most obvious venue. though they could also have made an Inquisitor one where the intro of the game was you earning your Rosette and thus explaining why you aren't superpowered from the start (you haven't the same level of experience and resources accumulated as more veteran Inquisitors).
For Warhammer they could go more towards the Warhammer Quest route, that way players could get more variety in their party and the ability to explore across the face of the warhammer world instead of a party of rat catchers and dung shovelers struggling to fight a pair of gobbos.

The different paths doesn't seem like much and it feels weird compared to WOTR with real, albeit paths with variation in quality. Imperialis, hereticus and benevolent is nothing more than simple dialog choices, which the game should show and employ for roleplay measures in addition to something else like WOTR paths. I do not feel quite optimistic for the game yet.
