Navigator House usually have agreements with rogue traders, hence why they have a navigator. Its a business relationship after all, the new space route you chart and other discoveries allow them to make investments and such before any other, and the chance of death is no more then any other combat assigned navigator, she still has her duty to her house. When her time comes.(but its okay, most noble's still have lovers, but she will still need to match with her families alliance and produce a child, noting stopping you from still loving her, though if you two produce a child together might cause some political drama)

its been stated that its an adaption of the rules rather than a 100% conversion so i imagine its going to have some homebrew, even if its just homebrew to have Deathwatch,Dark Heresy and Rogue trader rules mixed together
given that they have stated its an "adapation" of the RT rules + the game the devs played was a hybrid of RT and Dark Heresy, plus i expect some Deathwatch rules for the space marine companion
Dark Heresy characters are generally weaker than Rogue Trader characters but can become stronger by the end.
Dark Heresy classes have class trees while Rogue Trader classes do not.
Dark Heresy characters end up having a lot of role overlap while Rogue Trader characters do not.
Space Marine (from Deathwatch) has a specialization basically designed to be used in other modules. It lets them use deathwatch squad abilities while solo. Space marines basically exist as giant statblocks that btfo normal humans but they tend to lack the same face and subtle powers of human classes.

Those are minor differences. The rule books all pride themselves on being modular in that a dark heresy character could walk into a black crusade campaign and a death watch character could walk into a rogue trader campaign etc. Yes of course power levels are different but the rules are the same.

Rogue Trader is simply more detailed and specialized. WanG is a much more simplified game with "one key fits all" approach that allegedly allows you to play as anything you wish - from Space Marines to Eldar and Orks, but it's very shallow in the process.
So it's quality over quantity.

Well, they were nigs with space cancer who sold their souls to star eating gods for inmortality, who then transfered their conciousness and memories to skeleton like machines. Pretty close to a lich in my opinion. They are also the most powerful faction in 40k but aren't dominating the setting because most of them are on hivernation or they start doing autistic shit as the dynasties have become independent from their overlord (the silent king) after they all went to sleep. Now some are retaking their own planets (get out of my lawn style), others thing that they should conquer everyone, others go full genocidal, my favourite necron is a kleptomaniac c**t who goes to steal the best artefacts from the biggest nigs in the setting just to put them in his museum. He even has the clone of a demigod, atleast one Adeptus Custodes (a soldier so fricking powerful and expensive that just one is worth several inhabited planets), the head of one of the most important saints and heroes of the Imperium (Saint Peter levels of importance), whole battlefields he put in stasis, sub sector destroying weapons, godkiller weapons and a fricking god as his own battery

Well, for any other story standards they are Satan incarnate, but that's for most 40k. Even the "good guys" like the Imperium, Eldar and Tau would be the big bads of another less dark setting. The Imperium kills anyone who speaks against the religion, exterminates anyone who isn't human, exterminate any genetical variation like psykers and mutants (except if they can use them), lobotomize people and leave them as servitors, torture and murder as breakfast, eliminate whole planets if they feel they are heretic, have absolute terrible conditions, etc. Necrons on the other hand are more pragmatic but also they really can't be summed up easily, as the multiple dynasties want to achieve different things. Some are more of the I want to conquer and kill everyone who doesn't bow to me, others offer more of an interesting take (there is a Don Quixote kind of guy, who leads his dynasties armies while thinking he is still on the past, fighting as he was in flesh against other dynasties and aliens). There is a great book called "The infinite and the divine" which shows the rivalry between 2 necron lords. They aren't evil per se, but they get planets worth of innocent people killed in their pettiness and squabbles (one of them send an alien just to frick with the other one, that alien served as a beacon to the whole hivefleet of galaxy level threat aliens, so they escaped the planet, leaving all the people there to die while they squabbled autistically

Well, if you use the D&D alignment stuff, then every faction in Warhammer 40k is situated somewhere between Lawful Evil and Chaotic Evil. There are no good guys. You could make an argument for the Necrons to be Neutral, maybe. But even that's kinda pushing it.
I guess this is why I like Warhammer Fantasy more. Because in that setting there are at leasts some factions that are more or less good. Like the Empire or the Elves,who, while flawed as hell are still trying to make the right thing.
Considering how it would have to be high ranking Necron to have any functional thoughts and goals, leaving their tomb world would be highly irresponsible.

Navigator House usually have agreements with rogue traders, hence why they have a navigator. Its a business relationship after all, the new space route you chart and other discoveries allow them to make investments and such before any other, and the chance of death is no more then any other combat assigned navigator, she still has her duty to her house. When her time comes.(but its okay, most noble's still have lovers, but she will still need to match with her families alliance and produce a child, noting stopping you from still loving her, though if you two produce a child together might cause some political drama)

Dark Heresy characters are generally weaker than Rogue Trader characters but can become stronger by the end.
Dark Heresy classes have class trees while Rogue Trader classes do not.
Dark Heresy characters end up having a lot of role overlap while Rogue Trader characters do not.
Space Marine (from Deathwatch) has a specialization basically designed to be used in other modules. It lets them use deathwatch squad abilities while solo. Space marines basically exist as giant statblocks that btfo normal humans but they tend to lack the same face and subtle powers of human classes.

Those are minor differences. The rule books all pride themselves on being modular in that a dark heresy character could walk into a black crusade campaign and a death watch character could walk into a rogue trader campaign etc. Yes of course power levels are different but the rules are the same.

Fantasy Flight's Rogue Trader/Dark Heresy/Deathwatch/Black Crusade systems were pretty good. Any ideas why they went with FFG over Wrath & Glory? I've never played the newer system.
Rogue Trader is simply more detailed and specialized. WanG is a much more simplified game with "one key fits all" approach that allegedly allows you to play as anything you wish - from Space Marines to Eldar and Orks, but it's very shallow in the process.
So it's quality over quantity.

They are also the most powerful faction in 40k but aren't dominating the setting because most of them are on hivernation or they start doing autistic shit as the dynasties have become independent from their overlord (the silent king) after they all went to sleep. Now some are retaking their own planets (get out of my lawn style), others thing that they should conquer everyone, others go full genocidal, my favourite necron is a kleptomaniac c**t who goes to steal the best artefacts from the biggest nigs in the setting just to put them in his museum. He even has the clone of a demigod, atleast one Adeptus Custodes (a soldier so fricking powerful and expensive that just one is worth several inhabited planets), the head of one of the most important saints and heroes of the Imperium (Saint Peter levels of importance), whole battlefields he put in stasis, sub sector destroying weapons, godkiller weapons and a fricking god as his own battery

Well, for any other story standards they are Satan incarnate, but that's for most 40k. Even the "good guys" like the Imperium, Eldar and Tau would be the big bads of another less dark setting. The Imperium kills anyone who speaks against the religion, exterminates anyone who isn't human, exterminate any genetical variation like psykers and mutants (except if they can use them), lobotomize people and leave them as servitors, torture and murder as breakfast, eliminate whole planets if they feel they are heretic, have absolute terrible conditions, etc. Necrons on the other hand are more pragmatic but also they really can't be summed up easily, as the multiple dynasties want to achieve different things. Some are more of the I want to conquer and kill everyone who doesn't bow to me, others offer more of an interesting take (there is a Don Quixote kind of guy, who leads his dynasties armies while thinking he is still on the past, fighting as he was in flesh against other dynasties and aliens). There is a great book called "The infinite and the divine" which shows the rivalry between 2 necron lords. They aren't evil per se, but they get planets worth of innocent people killed in their pettiness and squabbles (one of them send an alien just to frick with the other one, that alien served as a beacon to the whole hivefleet of galaxy level threat aliens, so they escaped the planet, leaving all the people there to die while they squabbled autistically

Well, if you use the D&D alignment stuff, then every faction in Warhammer 40k is situated somewhere between Lawful Evil and Chaotic Evil. There are no good guys. You could make an argument for the Necrons to be Neutral, maybe. But even that's kinda pushing it.
I guess this is why I like Warhammer Fantasy more. Because in that setting there are at leasts some factions that are more or less good. Like the Empire or the Elves,who, while flawed as hell are still trying to make the right thing.

how were their pathfinder games restrictive? you could be any alignment. it's not a sandbox so obviously you have to follow the storyline, but that's the only restrictive thing I think of.

Like a Kroot Merc wouldn't be too implausible, there's rules for them in the pnp rpg.
More out there would be say an Ork Freeboota or maybe a random Squat since GW is currently pushing the "brotherhood of Votann" as a thing.
If they want to get the weeb vote then somehow have a lost Tau end up in your Trader's service, maybe a Water Caste to give a retinue member that is diplomatic, or an Earth Caste that is focused on summoning Drones in battle
