would I like rogue trader if I enjoyed mechanicus?
Op here cant tell but i liked Mechanicus too

wow. i was counting for this game. Can you state what is so bad about it?
>Can you state what is so bad about it?
Lots of basic things like line of sight and verticality don't work right. The encounters are very lazily designed, like zero thought went into them. For example, there's a boss fight where you can get tech priests to assist you, but the tech priests deal lightning damage which heals the boss and you can't even control them. Lots of really dumb shit like that which shows they clearly didn't give a frick. The writing is cringe tumblr shit that doesn't belong in the 40k universe at all and zoomers do backflips over because they poorly reference wiki lore. The combat is really broken and shallow, builds are usually like going down a check list of mandatory abilities and occasionally picking between 2 fairly useless ones, with absolutely no hard decisions. It just sucks ass in every conceivable way, you'd have to be literally insane to enjoy it at all.
All of this shit.
The game is fricking tedious in encounter design, mechanics, and especially in writing. The writing is a hot turd; the main plot is boring and the story twists are predictable; and most of the the dialogue is composed of exposition dumps. Frick me, it's like none of the writers have ever read a novel. Unfortunately, it's too late for me to get my money back.
I was shocked that the writing in Rogue Trader is worse than Kingmaker, and far worse than WoTR.
But then, almost everything about the game is worse than the Pathfinder ones, from graphics to gameplay depth and builds to companions.
The world design kind of reminds me of a Korean MMO, like there's 2 npcs to talk to in a whole town and like 20 chests to open. It's really shitty and weird. Combat isn't particularly interesting either, and is mostly stacking buffs then mowing down like 30 peons.
well this makes me sad i was counting for 40k RPG but i gues nowadays we cant have nice things - only shitty zoomer goyslop
>i was counting for 40k RPG
Why? It's a beer and pretzel wargame. The original tabletop version of rogue trader wasn't even liked.
because i like the setting and RPGs you spastic
How about you play the actual games you dumb b***h
make me you bawd
Bend over and I'll show you the power of a true grognard
im an alpha male b***h YOU bend over
>im an alpha male
well its still wel done paint job, even if gay as frick
>even if gay as frick
What sort of people do you think gravitate towards painting miniatures
alpha males?
Men aged 16-45
what does this things even mean lmao i tought yellow one was ANCAP flag
>what does this things even mean lmao
Subversion and mockery of God's order. How many colors are on a rainbow, 7 right? ROY G BIV. How many colors are on a pride flag? 6. Not a coincidence. Why did God flood the world? homosexuals in Sodom and Gomorrah being degenerate rapists. What was the symbol of God's covenant with Noah? A rainbow.
The Ancaps are double dipping on the spectrum.

>Is it any good?
Highly subjective..Act 1 is pretty enjoyable and should really have a tutorial skip mode that lets you do a bit more. Act 2 is alright but space combat is utter dog-shite, though arguably better than crusader battles from Wrath. Act 3 - I.E. Commoragh was fricking moronic at launch. Bugs out the ass, incoherent plotlines, soft locks and skill rolls set stupidly high. It's better now but something is off about it - like it has the drapes of 40k but lacks the internal sense the source material has. Also the switch from "getting my trade empire going and seeing weird shit in the 40kverse" to "welcome to evil space elf city, it's cool for you to run around with a heavy stubber fricking shit up" is jarring.
Act 4 is...empty. If this was a TTRPG session it's like the GM forgot to prepare the sessions and is just throwing laborious crap at you to play for time. Also pray you bothered to create a fast route network between your colonies otherwise prepare for the sector travel to slow the game to a literal crawl. Then it picks up again when you return to footfall and you start to see your actions start to have repercussions.
Then Act 5 immediately drops what little intrigue the end of act 4 has - it's still Raw AF. The Necrons are basically a bit part and shit wraps up pretty quickly because by this point combats and random events just serve as inconveniences.
>Will I like it because mechanicus
Only on the grounds If you liked the bit of mechanicus where your squad becomes a broken mess of combat gods that end engagements within a turn.
Pre-rebalance patch you could get some stupid builds by act 2 - my arch militant crime lord for example could puke out over 5k damage a turn and that basically voided any value of combat. Even after the patch, unless you actively create a moron or artificially inflate enemy stats it's clear they had no idea how to make encounters interesting outside of forced interruptions to your turn

This is my experience with Kingmaker. Still haven't tried Wrath though (waiting for to play complete game a.k.a. when all the DLC's and whatever else not are done), but I've heard it's same, point being, I'm seeing a pattern here.
>Is it any good?
>"Highly subjective" followed by a wall of text
that's sugarcoating that it's not good, is it not?
Rogue Trader doesn't have best girls so probably not.
Wait for waifus that aren't complete shit. You might be waiting forever.
You will never romance Argenta
Fish is better
Anon, it's fricking terrible and it's not going to get better. Look at the steam ratings for owlcat games, it's abysmal.
You would honestly have a more enjoyable time eating a bucket of razor blades than playing owlshit
It's in a better state than launch.
There are still bugs, dlc comes out in a few months.
There are so many other games to play. Why play trash?
1 billions fights the game
frick this stupid dogshit
YOU LITERALLY SHOULD FIGHT WITH HORDES OF MINIONS EVERY 5 FRICKING MINUTE
The first boltgun you find is in a dumpster.
The loot is not randomized. It's hand placed.
That should tell you everything about this game.
>The loot is not randomized. It's hand placed.
Based
The graphics are kinda shit and it feels bad having to leave out fish waifu because of how she trivializes everything otherwise.
Otherwise it's pretty average I guess.
Well they fixed the bugs I was having problems with mainly. Turns out changes in my ship weren't loading because I loaded up the save I gave up on other day and my ship looks proper heretical now. Also a bunch of quests completed that were bugged as soon as I loaded in and the chaos space marine you can recruit actually had a model rather than being invisible.
So if it's not fixed, it's getting there.
Not an RPG.
Your mother is a prostitute
It's the best RPG in years by far and Owlcats best game yet. Perfectly captured atmosphere of 40k too. One of the best companion rosters in crpgs so far.
>first kneejerk posters hate it
>later more reasonable posters say it's good
OP, I think this means the game is good
Don't reply to yourself, moron
>Owlcats best game yet
thats not a good sign anon
What do you mean?
>check recent negative steam review
>people saying they are running into hardlocks and broken quests past act 3
Amazing, nearly 4 months and the game is still basically not playable without Toybox.
Yeah and owltard buttholes lie about it all the time.
