It's extra moronic cause the whole theme of her romance is Victorian era old timey courtship, the thematic end would be marriage since anything else would be too spicy.
I tried their other game because the class stuff seemed nice, but it just was not fun to play RTWP compared to tower of time or poe2. I want to get into one of their games and more 40k, so this one seemed like a good choice. I had assumed it was going to be about 14 months until it was mostly fixed, but I bought it on launch knowing it would be patched by the time I got around to the really buggy parts. The opening was fun, and it is one of the few RPGs I am reading more of because I don't know the lore. I assume a lot of the sales are from drones like me.
Warhammer gays are cash cows. They are conditioned into buying everything at astronomical prices. A few quid for RPG is so cheap for them, that they're convinced they're stealing from Games Workshop by buying it.
Everything sells, even dated and bare-bones 4x by budget studio. Wait for Paradox to get a licence for something, and they'll be selling individual dlc's for $100.
>>You can pay $100 to play as ALL THE ULTRAMARINES? That's the price of a single car in the tabletop!
This is why Games Workshop wouldn't license 40k and WFB to Blizzard, and so instead they just changed the names a little bit and released Starcraft and Warcraft.
40gay slop for the Warhammer paypigs. I don't no a single franchise that is this mediocre but at the same time has acquired such dedication from its fanbase.
EA games have statues and cloth map shit now? WTF? Who is sad enough to buy this? When does the unfinished product market actually saturate because that needs to happen already.
I didn't understand the disgust displayed towards Owlcat consooomers (having thought Kingmaker was a reasonable, if broken title from a new studio) but I think I get it now. You people will literally eat shit and call it a four course meal, then get mad when people ask why you are eating shit.
As someone who enjoyed Kingmaker and WotR, I can understand getting tricked by them into playing a buggy and unfinished game the first time, when you don't know what to expect, but if you've played one of their buggy and unfinished games at launch already, I cannot fathom how one would do so again. I played Kingmaker after it was all patched up and fine, and played WotR at launch which was literally unplayable for 6+ months. As a result, I want to play RT, but I'm not touching it until the "it's finally done edition" in a year or whatever.

It's the deranged people downplaying the bugs/how broke Rogue Trader is for me.
There's a line between tolerating a flawed product and actively saying that nothing is wrong, and these morons repeatedly cross it.
Bugs and inbalance were always such an utterly irrelevant "issues" with games. Tons of the best games ever made are full of bugs and inbalance and that's a complete fricking nonissue. Only actual game design matters. I could not care less for jank. Bugs and balance will be fixed in patches or in mods by community, they won't matter in the long run anyway and they are not worth even acknowledging nor are they are problem to begin with. Rough diamond is better than polished turd. Can't stop but laugh at morons seething at such trivial things.
As funny as they were, it were never the bugs that were problem with Rome 2, but it's design choices. Bugs were fixed, but I still loathe the game. Rogue Trader has the best companions in crpgs in years and one of the best casts ever. Story, atmosphere and setting are amazing. Music good, whatever voice acting there is, is top tier. Gameplay, while turn based, is far better than in previous owlcat games, classes are radically different, locations varied and cool looking. There are many memorable combat encounters. It's easily one of the best rpgs in years, it's success warranted. I could not care for irrelevant shit like bugs lmao.
It's their best game despite the bugs, rewrites and the unfinished state it was released in. Imagine how great the game would be if it had another two years of development
>their best game
it's worse in almost every way compared to the prior two ones, what are you smoking? the combat and gameplay mechanics alone are such an unimaginable step down, there is zero class variety, you end up with the same exact build as half of your companions.
to say nothing of how 90% of the game is literal actual trash mobs by design
The combat is better
The builds are better
It's not RT where everyone plays the same, it's Pathfinder
WotR has the same trash mob problems, but a million times worse, this game is a step in the right direction
Pathfindergays are delusional
>worth has the same trash mob problems, but a million times worse
Are you delusional? The combat in RT is literally, fundementally, actually designed around massive trash mobs that take forever to kill as a design feature. It being turn based just makes things 50x worse than Wrath, because now instead of buffing and beating a fight in 10 seconds it takes 10 minutes as each of the 50 enemies slowly waddles across the screen.
NTA but it is slow. I'm also not that cool with TB mode in Pathfinder games. Precise control over action economy is good but there is no way to interrupt spellcasting outside of attacks of opportunity.

It's slow in the sense that you can't just skip all animations and have to cheat engine the game on x5 speed like Expeditions Rome. The turns themselves take little time especially since you are incentivized to build all your characters to a specific strength.

There is definitely no intrigue or subverted expectations though lel. We know exactly how Owlcat does things by now. I'm pretty sure Primalists are currently don't work correctly, courtesy of the latest patch. That was in mid January. I suppose they could have fixed it in an undocumented update so I didn't notice.

april -may sounds realistic, the previous dlc was in november so that would give them half a year to work on it, and it would also be 1-2 months before the first dlc for rt

If the game hand holds you this hard and you still frick it up then you are somehow too low IQ for RPGs

Exactly this. Boggles the mind how anyone can complain about "le trash mobs" in a game that hands out grenades like free samples at Costco, and starts you off with a bolter using companion from the very beginning. Almost every melee weapon has area attacks as well, so even if you build your companions wrong it's quite difficult to not have Abelard demolish everything unless you're playing on the highest tier of difficulty, but if you're playing on max difficulty you should expect the game to kick your ass if you don't build your characters properly so that's moot.
>rtwp gay >unironically thinks the enemy placement is worse in RT than in Kingmaker
Holy shit you're unironically garbage at crpg's. The fact you think the combat is the worst part of the game and not its unfinished state, visual and quest ques being buggy just shows you haven't even completed the game and are malding due to lack of skill lol.
Wrath did slightly better than RT. Of course, we don't know what Owlcat paid to license Pathfinder vs. WH40K, but as someone who loves Wrath and couldn't be bothered to finish RT, I view this positively.
Wrath has insane build autism but an infinitely worse story and terrible quest design that involves exceedingly contrived puzzles that really shouldn't be in the game at all. Also worse pacing. There are more "options" with Wrath but a less enjoyable experience overall. I honestly think RT is the better game by a long shot.
>an infinitely worse story
Only if you really dislike the demon mommy/witch angle, which I can understand. RT has, you know, the deldar city. And Pasqal's storyline and his connection to the main plot is probably cut content.
>Wrath did slightly better than RT. Of course, we don't know what Owlcat paid to license Pathfinder vs. WH40K, but as someone who loves Wrath and couldn't be bothered to finish RT, I view this positively.
Also the game released in the same day as xbox and playstation, unlike Wrath.
Which class for a pistol/sword guy? I went with Operative but now it seems like that's more of a sniper thing and the respec option only seems to let me redo my operatives talents.
>Pick up game on sale since I finished up other games I wanted to before buying this one, start up and get through a few hours >Eating dinner, wonder if there's still a thread in /vrpg/ >It's just a pile of people with nothing better to do than sit around and call everyone cucks
>You love 40k fan fiction with all the degeneracy that comes with it - It's your 10/10 game for self inserting into the 40k universe, fricking fish mutants, getting pegged by Dark Eldar after basically destroying a huge section of their empire. As well as being the dude who leads the mechanicum, or even a large section of the imperium, to a new enlightenment that embraces understanding and innovation.
>You like 40k but not to the extreme, and are normal enough to give the glaring flaws of the game a free pass - 6/10 - you'll find something you enjoy about it and have fun, but will come away a bit disappointed at the end because of how half baked everything is. Some serious updates or reworks may raise it higher but you won't hold your breath and are happy to enjoy what you got.
>You don't really care about 40k but like CRPGs - 3/10. Theres not enough story or interesting development to keep you here other than to complete it for completions sake. The combat is at first passable and quickly becomes dull, the npc and wider storylines fizzle out quickly, your choices have only minor impact during the game and are largely relegated to what slide goes into the end game powerpoint Presentation. Outside as a gateway to wider 40k media (of which there are far better ways) the overall game isn't anything more than another on the mediocre pile.
>You don't like 40k and/or CRPGs - no don't bother.
If it's like $20,£15,€17 etc then yeah worth a punt for the possible amount of hours you'll get out of it. Anything else - no.
I kind of like CRPGs and 40K (only played 40K games, never played the tabletop or read any books) and I loved WotR but hated Kingmaker, should I get this? I've been considering it because I just played WotR last year and liked it.
Marathoned the game since I was sick.
My review? Just wait for the Enhanced edition. >lack of highlighted choice consequences in mid and late game >alignment system gives so little points it's worthless >economy completely pointless >combat balance in the gutter, turn 1 clown fiesta for both you and enemies
I did like the visuals and roleplay options were, usually, sufficient.
The game is still broken, but no patch is going to solve the moronic plot twist and the horribly boring story from the dark elf city to the end.
Almost as bad as bg3's 3rd act.
>The game is still broken, but no patch is going to solve the moronic plot twist and the horribly boring story from the dark elf city to the end.

Pandering to 40kids always pays off, since they'll buy literally anything with a 40k logo on the over. They're the perfect mindless consoomers. That's why they keep making more 40k games every year, even if the majority of them are godawful.
>Soldier >Arch militant >Tempestus Carapace Elite Backpack >Compensator Gloves >Unhallowed bellow special Heavy Bolter >Shoot 46 bullets with rapid fire
I don't imagine you have any timeframe for that? I played a few hours in the early access beta, but stopped until it'd be released and sufficiently bug-free. Supposedly version 1.2 should unfrick a lot of stuff.
>heard rumors around launch of people claiming that if you romance henrix as a heretic you can actually turn him to chaos >it's a meme, basically none of the companions can even be made evil

Then motherfricking Uralon. How the frick do you do this? You get beat on initiative every single fricking time, and you're lucky if anyone besides Cassia is still alive with her ridiculous 240% dodge.
Aren't Cassia and Pasqal grand strategists? that takes care of initiative. When I played the game I just buffed the shit out of my AM with Cassia and destroyed everything, but now that's not possible because of the nerf

marrying her ends the romance, it's ap political marriage, no feelings involved
That is beyond moronic
It is. The idea is that you agree with her that your feelings will only get in the way so you only go through with a political marriage. But the way the dialogue option is worded makes it look like you'll continue in a relationship as normal
It's extra moronic cause the whole theme of her romance is Victorian era old timey courtship, the thematic end would be marriage since anything else would be too spicy.
GW drones.
It's attached to a huge IP and Owlcat is a lot more popular than when they released WotR
I assume a lot of the sales are from drones like me.
biden's economy

more beaners working means more time for me to test out my blossoming female identity in the warhammer universe
Blossoms and fungal rot aren't the same thing anon
/vrpg/ - Video Games/RPG?
Warhammer gays are cash cows. They are conditioned into buying everything at astronomical prices. A few quid for RPG is so cheap for them, that they're convinced they're stealing from Games Workshop by buying it.
Everything sells, even dated and bare-bones 4x by budget studio. Wait for Paradox to get a licence for something, and they'll be selling individual dlc's for $100.
>Wait for Paradox to get a licence for something, and they'll be selling individual dlc's for $100.
>You can pay $100 to play as ALL THE ULTRAMARINES? That's the price of a single car in the tabletop!
>You can pay $100 to play as ALL THE ULTRAMARINES? That's the price of 1.42 dudes in the tabletop!
40gay slop for the Warhammer paypigs. I don't no a single franchise that is this mediocre but at the same time has acquired such dedication from its fanbase.
EA games have statues and cloth map shit now? WTF? Who is sad enough to buy this? When does the unfinished product market actually saturate because that needs to happen already.
>statues and cloth map shit now
Where have you been for the last ten years?
Not grubbing up every EA title it appears.
Rtwp mod when
I didn't understand the disgust displayed towards Owlcat consooomers (having thought Kingmaker was a reasonable, if broken title from a new studio) but I think I get it now. You people will literally eat shit and call it a four course meal, then get mad when people ask why you are eating shit.
Get a grip
Fair. They should be honest, and from everything I’ve heard it shipped in an extremely rough state.
>Imagine how great the game would be if it had another two years of development
It would just have more broken shit in it
that they'd fix eventually!
>their best game
it's worse in almost every way compared to the prior two ones, what are you smoking? the combat and gameplay mechanics alone are such an unimaginable step down, there is zero class variety, you end up with the same exact build as half of your companions.
to say nothing of how 90% of the game is literal actual trash mobs by design
The combat is better
The builds are better
It's not RT where everyone plays the same, it's Pathfinder
WotR has the same trash mob problems, but a million times worse, this game is a step in the right direction
Pathfindergays are delusional
>worth has the same trash mob problems, but a million times worse
Are you delusional? The combat in RT is literally, fundementally, actually designed around massive trash mobs that take forever to kill as a design feature. It being turn based just makes things 50x worse than Wrath, because now instead of buffing and beating a fight in 10 seconds it takes 10 minutes as each of the 50 enemies slowly waddles across the screen.
>that take forever to kill
good job ousting yourself as a shitter. we're done here
NTA but it is slow.
>It's slow in the sense that you can't just skip all animations and have to cheat engine the game
I suppose. Where The Citadel DLC for Wrath btw? April-may maybe? Later? I really don't want to play the fricking thing again before that. Also, playing RT on release was also dumb. Heck, playing BG3 on release was arguably even dumber because they keep adding endings and shit. I think I made myself angri...
playing rt on release was a certain type of fun where you could make bets at what point your game would become bricked due to a choice you'd made 15 hours earlier
>Where The Citadel DLC for Wrath btw? April-may maybe?
april -may sounds realistic, the previous dlc was in november so that would give them half a year to work on it, and it would also be 1-2 months before the first dlc for rt
Late spring to mid summer, most likely june
>no counter
>pretend there is no issue
>deflect and cope
Stop being the stereotype of an Owlslop consumer.
You genuinely are bad at games.
>Overpenetration damage will hurt enemies in a line
>Multiple weapons have burst or area of effect attacks that can strike multiple enemies per turn
>Some character archetypes have AoE abilities that can outright kill most trash mobs in a single attack
>Most archetypes can get free attacks
>The officer archetype can get free turns for other PCs
How fricking shit are you at the game?
>take forever to kill
skill issue
>slowly waddles across the screen
hold space
>rtwp gay
>unironically thinks the enemy placement is worse in RT than in Kingmaker
Holy shit you're unironically garbage at crpg's. The fact you think the combat is the worst part of the game and not its unfinished state, visual and quest ques being buggy just shows you haven't even completed the game and are malding due to lack of skill lol.
>rtwptroon seething
you lost
That figure is really cool
I want it even though I don't know anything about warhammer

Wrath did slightly better than RT. Of course, we don't know what Owlcat paid to license Pathfinder vs. WH40K, but as someone who loves Wrath and couldn't be bothered to finish RT, I view this positively.
I thought RT was a little better but Wrath is just more replayable
Trouble with RT is that they abandoned the extra chonky scale of PF games. It's regular RPG sized.
Personal preference, I found Wrath a chore to play but have had fun finishing RT multiple times.
I thought it was a better romance than anything in the Pathfinder games.
she's worth the risk
>Almosts kills you in cumrag
It was worth it
Voidborne or Fortress world for a pysker
>sold half a million in a month
>this is what 500k sold copies look like according to owlcuck
Palworld sold like 15 million on steam and yet it peaked at 2 million
You player count obsessed gays are so moronic
>What went so right?
Setting.
It fits Owlcat gamedesign
It's british fiction so aesthetically more pleasing
Which class for a pistol/sword guy? I went with Operative but now it seems like that's more of a sniper thing and the respec option only seems to let me redo my operatives talents.
Arch militant, works with both warrior and soldier but soldier is ideal
>Pick up game on sale since I finished up other games I wanted to before buying this one, start up and get through a few hours
>Eating dinner, wonder if there's still a thread in /vrpg/
>It's just a pile of people with nothing better to do than sit around and call everyone cucks
Never change Ganker
Came here to see if the game was worth buying and playing while on sale, and learned nothing
If you enjoy Owlcat's flavor of CRPG power fantasy and have even a passing interest in WH40k, yes.
>is it worth buying?
Depends on which of these you fall under most:
Anything else - no.
>end game powerpoint Presentation
People b***hed endlessly when BG3 didn't have it
I kind of like CRPGs and 40K (only played 40K games, never played the tabletop or read any books) and I loved WotR but hated Kingmaker, should I get this? I've been considering it because I just played WotR last year and liked it.
Marathoned the game since I was sick.
My review? Just wait for the Enhanced edition.
>lack of highlighted choice consequences in mid and late game
>alignment system gives so little points it's worthless
>economy completely pointless
>combat balance in the gutter, turn 1 clown fiesta for both you and enemies
I did like the visuals and roleplay options were, usually, sufficient.
>Abelard, announce my gracious bump.
Almost as bad as bg3's 3rd act.
Ah, I see you're a man of culture as well.
Lady Cassia, my beloved
Remove the granny panties
>granny panties
looks more like bloomers
what should a prim and proper old-fashioned princess like her wear instead?
Sexy lingerie just in case for that one random day where she loses her virginity
>What went so right?
Pandering to 40kids always pays off, since they'll buy literally anything with a 40k logo on the over. They're the perfect mindless consoomers. That's why they keep making more 40k games every year, even if the majority of them are godawful.
Is Rogue Trader worth getting for 40$? It has a season pass, which is 30$, and I find that weird because does that mean I miss out on the story?
I would give it another year in the oven for the “definitive edition” or whatever.
>Soldier
>Arch militant
>Tempestus Carapace Elite Backpack
>Compensator Gloves
>Unhallowed bellow special Heavy Bolter
>Shoot 46 bullets with rapid fire
NOW WERE GAMING
be honest
is this worth playing now? I got it on release and it was basically unplayable.
i just started playing it, i'm having fun
No.
Wait for the enhanced edition to release.
>Wait for the enhanced edition to release.
This is solid advice for any Owlcat or Larian game
I don't imagine you have any timeframe for that? I played a few hours in the early access beta, but stopped until it'd be released and sufficiently bug-free. Supposedly version 1.2 should unfrick a lot of stuff.
>heard rumors around launch of people claiming that if you romance henrix as a heretic you can actually turn him to chaos
>it's a meme, basically none of the companions can even be made evil
literally unfinished game
marazhai is evil incarnate
>no meltacharge anywhere
>can't even find them in the save editor
WTF
Total Idira hugs
This is Owlcat's best game because it doesn't adhere to DnD or Pathfinder's moronic combat and magic system.
you're a tasteless fricking moron, unless we're talking about DnD 5th edition
>What went so right?
piggybacking off a popular IP
>Act 4
>on the second hardest difficulty
>got my commander/Psyker RT on backline support
>Cassia my beloved walking warcrime
>spes wolf because he wanted to come, he's alright but damn he can't take cover for shit
>Yrliet for high-AP bounty hunter and reaching out to touch support enemies
>Pasqal my best boy wildcard that debuffs everything and blows them away with plasma
>Argenta the double-threat with a storm bolter and a heavy flamer that when set up right in a fight can unload three magazines with her storm bolter in one round and then empty the heavy flamer for free as a dessert
>feeling powerful, had to retry the Despoiler fight a few times but nbd
Then motherfricking Uralon. How the frick do you do this? You get beat on initiative every single fricking time, and you're lucky if anyone besides Cassia is still alive with her ridiculous 240% dodge.
Aren't Cassia and Pasqal grand strategists? that takes care of initiative. When I played the game I just buffed the shit out of my AM with Cassia and destroyed everything, but now that's not possible because of the nerf
