What are some good mods that don't destroy the essence of Rome 2, essentially turning it into some fake arm-chair historians autism project?

What? What the hell even is the essence of Rome 2, then? It's not the arcadey bedlam of Rome 1, which you could get by simply getting Rome 1 or its remaster
Rome 2 has far more features that completely changes the dynamics of play. To suggest someone should "go play Rome 1" is disingenuous.
What features aside from being a boring piece of shit?
Given your sarcastic, hyperbolic response, I'm not sure if you care if I actually answer or not.
For starters; port battles, ship battles, ambush battles, defensive battles where you set traps, foliage cover protecting from ranged weapons, dismounting cavalry, non-moronic siege AI, hero units to harass armies, and vision-based battlefield awareness.
well play Warhammer then
all of these are terrible or false
>false
How is anything I've said false, you lying homosexual?
foliage doesn't protect from ranged weapons in rome 2.
the trees do but to suggest that these features
> completely changes the dynamics of play.
is moronic. you know what changes the dynamics of play? mods and rome 1 has a plethora of mods that rome 2 just cant match.
even the "better" AI is still a joke its not like youre getting a smart opponent in rome 2. its still moronic and a walk over and unless OP has a friend to play against, id suggest he buy rome 1 and play that.
>Muh mods
Frick off LotR homosexual
>hero units to harass armies
actual cancer
I just want to play a mod that doesn't make a single unit of soldiers cost literally half my gold pool to buy, thus requiring moronicly stupid exploit strats in order to have semi-decent armies.
Just mod the mod.
Is Rome 1 on stores at all even? I thought CA did the israelite move of remastering a game and removing the original version.
Rome 1 comes with Rome Remastered if you didn't already own it.

Just revert to the last patch before they changed the politics system and added female general.

>What are some good mods that don't destroy the essence of Rome 2,
The frick is that supposed to mean?
You have the basic graphical mods which aren't really worth talking about, everyone just picks some.
Until addons tend to be shit becaus they kill the faction differences and all overhauls or total conversions by definition change up the basics of he game.
>hey, this faction has next to no unit variety and has a very limited, restricted playstyle
>What? NOOOOO, DON'T ADD A HECKIN UNIT MOD, THAT DESTROYS THE GAME BALANCE!
Every fricking time.
Factions like Odrysia are complete ass and could certainly use a few extra units, but their limited roster did give them a unique charm that they lose with mods like radious.
all overhauls are as you described, so I don't think there's anything that would suit your tastes aside from hand picking small mods that tweak a specific mechanic or add new units.
