Forcing myself to make daily progress, post yours anon.
Despite the memes, there is no jam discord where we all meet up and plan these them. The only way a jam could get cancelled is if the person who made the jam deletes the page. The whole "jam cancelled" thing was a meme too. Heck, I'm probably falling for a meme right now too.
If I don't get everything done, at least there will be a fishing minigame again.
>freshly butchered Sentrets
Aw, that's one of my favorite johtomons.... Hopefully Terry can rescue them
I put together the hub map and realized it's cramped despite my plan keeping things pretty big for MV, it has all the locations but really I'm going to need to rework it I think. I made a traffic light model but putting it in would make things even more cramped.
I like the aesthetic you're going for here.
Cramped is better than big and spacious imo. Your average city is pretty cramped. Also it makes the maps look more complete.
The display for the turn ordering is a little fricked up but I got all the skills working. Debating whether or not I should put in animations for the skills.
Funnily enough, I was tempted to put a fishing minigame into my game as well... Fishing minigames just improve a game's quality.

This one's looking really cool, though I hope it'll be able to run on my computer. MV3D games just don't run well on any of my machines.
I am regretting making a rule to have a second dialogue with every NPC, like in the Tales of games. It's a lot of writing.
Cozy swamp.
When I saw Terry, I almost thought you put Terry A. Davis into the game for a second there!
I think it's time to pivot this project to some really small scale prototype and then move it to some other engine. I'm just about done fighting against RPG Maker at every step. Coming up with MacGyverian solutions for stuff was fun for a while but now I'm pretty deep inside the land of "It's all so tiresome."
YIIKpunk probably wouldn't be about depression. YIIK was more focused on how people define themselves (and wish to be defined) through their work and passions, even when those passions become unguided or delusional.
It's clumsy as shit, but I respect YIIK.
I love this meme because, not only is YiiK not about depression, when you ask someone using it to name an indie rpg in that vein, that isn't omori, you barely get that many.
When all the idea guys that never upload anything flooded in and the community became 10% creators 90% people who will never make anything just sit there and share their boring uninspired thoughs that theyre convinced are quirky and unique.
Game idea: a inspiring story with all black characters about the struggle of getting hormones as a paralyzed below waist trans autistic black woman in a 100% black "hood" filled with gang violance and lacking in wheelchair accessible ramps making moving araund difficult for a wheelchair bound person like the main character.
Thoughs?
The built-in tutorial and tooltips are really good. You should do the tutorial and explore all the different pages and options while reading the tooltips.
3rd worlders seething when they see someone can afford pay for their software instead of rolling the dice for if they get a virus or not with every game/program they get.

I was planning to do a large hub like city area, and since most building tiles are in A~ tiles it's not possible, at least the way I'd like to do it. Guess I'll just have to parallax map it.

I'm getting LSD Dream Emulator vibes, my favorite 3D aesthetic. Such a fun game to explore.

I've got bad news for you. I love Sentret too, all Johtomon (Slugma is my favorite). But I wanted a game where they were standard JRPG enemies for a long time.

Based taste. I wish it was possible to catch one before the league.
Huuuuh. Why is it that when it's time to post "next jam when?!?!?!" the threads fill up in less than a day but when jams are ongoing nobody says anything?
No. You will upload the incomplete game, you will get ridiculed, and you will learn for the next time.
Reminder that a good jam theme is something really general, and possibly abstract. This way it's easy to make almost any idea compatible with it. Having highly specific ones, or god forbid, multiple themes directly works against this. It funnels you toward certain kinds of games, limiting your creative space. For many, it may force them into an area they're not comfortable with. Which then directly leads to them not participating.
With that in mind, if the idea guys using jam themes to make specific game requests from the local pseudo-ecelebs could just stop doing it, that would be great.
I just don't understand it. The themes are optional. Just make whatever you want, with your own theme, and submit it. As long you're from Ganker and not some random b***h mass submitting games to jams on itch, then who cares? At least 25% of the games made, total, barely fit the themes.

Was thinking about making an RPG based on my 4yr running D&D game. 4 Players and a tag-along every now and then. If not for release, just for fun. My DM notes are extensive and I have done write-ups for each adventure and side quest they've gone on.
Im starting to work on frame 2 now.
Also before anyone gets the wrong idea and gets disapointed there isnt going to be any pussy or dick visable on the screen its always going to be covered up(for the player) by a beam of light or someone walking in front of the camera and it blocking the view etc.
That's great, keep it up, this rando anon believes in you! I am also making everything from scratch so I feel you on that level, though my stuff's not for the jam, I'm just hanging out here cause the other RPGM thread exploded into schizophrenia meltdowns.
The zipper looks closed to me. Also, I would never guess it's supposed to be a sun ray. I don't know if you can even make a sun ray effect work with this simplistic MS Paint artsyle.
Making puzzles to get unlockables hasn't been too complicated, luckily I have a bunch from a big project that I can just yoink if it comes to that.
Also probably won't be posting progress anymore until the jam is over because I want to motivate myself to finish.
At this point I think there's about a 10% chance that I'll make something remotely worth playing before the deadline. I ran into so many different problems during this process that it just took the wind out of my sails. But I also learned a lot of new stuff, so it wasn't wasted by any means.
i decided to do this at my own pace, i probably can make it if i rush but i don't wanna rushed quality, I'll submit it not finished and probably finish it post-deadline
In the process of writing down everything that still needs to be done I've decided to just drop Character portraits for the non playable cast. Shits going to take too long.
Also game needs to be done by Wednesday night so ugh. Going to have to stay awake prolly all of tuesday night and wendesday to get it done.
Cool. I really don't want to release an incomplete game. At most I may label it as a demo for something else, so I don't have the issue to finish the storyline. Or just leave it with an open ending.
I regret not doing the art earlier. Caught up on characters. Going to have to do the story tomorrow and the enemies but thank god the events are placed, just needs to have a fricking script added in and god will it suck. I really will just be speedrunning the art tomorrow for the most part. My game wound up being more Horror/Religion than Horror/Summer but that's okay.
I'm not posting any more progress to motivate myself to finish, cutting it sorta close this time.

God I hope my computer can run this. It shits itself with mz3d games
It runs a lot better than my last one, not sure why, might just be plugin updates. Also frick me upon play testing I realized the intro is fricked and after name entry the characters skills aren't working, time to redo the entire intro.

I'm so sick of testing, making changes, testing, making changes, testing, making changes, etc... the closer I get to the end, the more overwhelming it feels somehow.
I bet it lowers calories quite a bit. Combined with leaving some or all of the crust and it would be a great tactic. The taste isn't affected at all from what I could sense. I made a fan song about Ulillillia but am too scared to send it to him.
https://files.catbox.moe/8gbsmt.7z
Also, here is my final progress as I add finishing touches. I made a small sound test with some cool songs. Still haven't tested stat shit in battles.
Adding onto my previous post I just realized I forgot to add an explanation of the controls in the game. Sorry anon, I'll fix that later. My heads been full of hot air lately.
My submission has been entered. Content wise it's quite short and it uses the >RTP but hey, I can't draw for shit and I have a full time job.
Half of the time I've spent on the combat system, so at least I hope people will enjoy it.
This is pretty much my first game ever """"""""""""""""""""""finished"""""""""""""""""""""" too.
Nearly everyone here uses the rtp or assets from a resource base anon, those who don't are outliers. RTP doesn't make a game bad at all. Shoukan Gaki, especially 2, fricking rocks.
Im just going to start making my game now and just upload something completely off topic as soon as next jam starts.
Whenever a new jam starts i just permanently procrastinate until its too late and feel sad that i didnt finish it in time because i started seriously working on it 1 day away from ending and theres no way i can finish it in time in 1 day.
I think i have some sort of mentall illness.
So excited to come home from work later and play anons games, its like I have a loving wife except she's soulful amateur games made by my fellow anons.
I had to wind up reusing something from an old game of mine. Frick it. It had to be done. I just gotta get it out there because my upload means this will take forever and no more time to spare. Going out for icecream while I wait for this to finish.
Reminds me of the A student who is already done with the assignment, but the slackers and the giving their all despairers who use every minute they can get always take whatever extension they can get ever if they don’t use it.
Anon everyone is working on their games and I'm waiting until everyone is done to play. I tend to play all the jam games in one go.
Also it tends to take a few days for feedback anyways.
RIP. I only really think of "my upload got fricked up" late submissions as being legit. Still want to see what gets posted if anything else does, though.
1 day long*
And its 10.
Give them one day to make something and you get 10 games give them 1 month to do something and you get 4.
Isnt that strange?
Shouldnt there be more submissions the more time there was to submit?
I believe some anons are refusing to upload their games because theyre ashamed that their game is too shitty for a month long jam.
Give them encouragement and tell them its ok you wont mock them even if their game is bad!
No, i dont think i will.
>b-but muh real submissions!
this opinion is both shitty and irrelevant, someone elses effort doesnt get invalidated for not meeting your requirements
His opinion is amazing and relevant, frick your hugbox.
All submissions are legit imo, because it isn't a contest.
I am a little salty at how much time I spent working on my game yesterday though. Had I known this would happen I wouldn't've crunched so hard and I wouldn't have had to cut so much. Oh well.

None of the jam games I've played were bad. They all had some spark of life that made it worthwhile. Also, the whole point of jams is to just make something, anything at all, in order to fight the tendency to NOT make something. And anything is better than nothing; life is better than death. Anons, even in despair, should try to channel their energies into a game. They might find they had more power inside them than they ever realized. (You) are all gonna make it! And if you release an unfinished game, well, finish it afterwards! Nothing is stopping you from making updates to it to fix or add stuff.
why we fight
There are agents posting in this thread and all over Ganker. They like to mess around with small communities just to prevent any sense of cohesion, independent culture, and general fun. There was an influx of fast shitpost discussion last time I mentioned this and there are more newbies than ever. I wonder how many are anons and how many are Agent Smiths. I hope they're having fun anyways, I don't wish them any harm. I hope they make games for the jams too.
Finished this. It was an enjoyable experience and you made it pretty tense just using default assets. I didn't really use Yukimura at all and just had Koizumi unga bunga everything though. You should enter more jams!
t-thanks, i try
I would join next time, I was gonna join one before but i had the bad luck of my pc exploding in the middle of the jam

You should get a usb/external hard drive for backing up your games. usb if you can't afford a ehd. Helps a lot in cases where that stuff happens so you don't lose all your work.
Uhhhhhh so where are the rest of the games?
I hope more anons pull through tonight, I want to play some jam kino and I'm going to be done with all the ones posted in like two days anyways. I can just replay all of Jet if this is all we get though.
Comfy game so far, I skipped over the sidequests because I was looking for all the funny player names (narutaru4eva...) but I'm gonna go back tomorrow and do everything. There is one bug where going back through the cave, you can't actually go back without editing the game in 2k3 like I did. The collision was set to below characters rather than same as characters, wish rpgm wouldn't use that as the default setting for collisions.
He's going to give her 5 billion kisses.
I'm in a rush right now so I can't right down all my thoughts in depth but I enjoyed Tarnished Fairy Princess, the last scene especially is very good (and cute). Ian and Penny have a nice dynamic where it's both pervy and warm (not that those things are mutually exclusive). Aesthetics are great as always. I'm always a sucker for things where you can actually go through a person's diary and consequently their thoughts. Ian/Penny CHADS are winning...
I'm going to play through the rest soon as well.
I'm unable to leave this house. Also, you can open the menu even when dialogue is ongoing.
finished lotus eater princess, i really like it, especially the portraits of the chars, good job dev.
Thank you all for playing and posting about the bugs, I just released a new version with some fixes!
You cant script your own code in wolf rpg editor, menus are bad.
You can make your sprites and tilesets any resolution you want.
Its free unlike rpg maker.
Unfortunately I was pretty busy so I couldn't make it. I got the story and progression system figured out too.
I'll save it for the next jam and fudge it a bit to match the theme
I'm glad people find it useful. I'm very lazy but I promise, some day, I will upload the recent games since I think Jam 8.5 to catbox as a backup.
Also, if anyone has any cool links to resources, forums, etc related to the games they've made, post and I will add it to the links section.
>extension only got us 2 new games
LMAO
>22 participents >6 games
Is this the worst drop off in vrpg jam history?
Pretty standard entrant/submission ratio for /vrpg/ jams. If this was your first time seeing/participating in a jam, could you (you) this post please? For science.
BlauerDev should reveal the names of those who joined the jam but didn't release a game so we can throw them into the Hall of Shame. Seriously, where did all these people come from?
It's possible that summer time = go outside, even for lazy NEET anons. Family might drag you on vacations or visits, etc. I almost dropped out because of that.

I'm surprised I even managed to make 3 games in a row. 2 of which while uni was in for the semester.
The 10th jams theme is very important because its the 10th one.
Maybe make the theme "Trans rights" to send a good message about positivity and acceptantence?
Or make the theme "porn" to get more people to play the games?
Uploadoids get their own separate discord server only for people who uploaded a game to a jam so we should make our own thread too for people who have never uploaded or played a jam game.
I'm genuinely considering learning Unity, I want to try a more serious 3d RPG and get better at 3d, I'll probably be back in like a year or something. As nice as MV3D is I want more freedom with the type of game I want to make.
Hope you do well, anon. Have fun with Unity. I feel limitations every now and then with RPGM, but I'm my own limitation. I have yet to maximize the full potential of RPGM. Maybe in a few more years.
>Gankerirgins shitting up the thread
damn i thought they'd frick off after we waited like 2 months for this jam to start but they've been hanging around lol
they already attract too many Gankerermin. i don't give a damn about a wider audience, but it's like... this thread has 60 ips and no more than a couple of people actually playing the games. devs would be more motivated to make games if they knew people would bother playing em.
I don't really care if anyone plays my games honestly, I know the content can be a little odd at times and they aren't for everything. I appreciate any players I get but I don't expect a billion people to play them.
>for everything
*everyone
Anyways I beat up the succubus and now I'm looking for the Justin guy in Summer and Virtue. I really like this so far and I wish my computer had a better graphics card so it could run the cityscape better. At least crypto is crashing so graphics card prices are going down. Merci, Bogdanoff...
If you want to know.
There's a red spot in one of the alleys after you get the quest that shows and it floats or something? I think it's supposed to be flat on the floor or something like the manholes into the sewer.
The Rapist (mental)
Also for a second I thought this was the male character and the knight was female. Goddamn crossdressing fetish...
Two people besides me have posted progress so at least THREE have played the jam games. You've been fricking owned.
Gunner is busted, critical eye boost + mag dump just destroys everything. How is mental?
Fixed it, there's an issue where the event had an extra page so it doesn't trigger what it's supposed to. I fixed it in another build but it was in another folder. It'll take a bit but I'll upload a new version. Pretty sure saves can be copy and pasted, it's just one quest related to that exit.. If you find any other issues please let me know.
Ah, well in the meantime I think I beat all the other quests available. Really comfy game, I like the atmosphere you've created with everything being dark and drab. I like that the angels are all freaky looking too. Got a sensible chuckle from a lot of the NPC dialogue, especially the guy talking about gorillas.
This jam in general has had really comfy entries. Between A Cat in a House, Lotus Eater 1 1/2th and this I'm saying this jam's theme was comfy kino all along. Still have the others to play though.
Another quality ojosama release. The occasional bug such as the 3rd party member's HP bar appearing prior to them officially joining the party appeared, and things not refreshing at times (on level up, for instance) but nothing major or game breaking. Someone already mentioned the other bug that also affects little/nothing (the menu dialogue bug) which I triggered on purpose just for fun. No biggie.
The CBS was a nice design which I'm happy to see was slightly sped up from some of the early progress webms which were posted here. One thing I'd have liked to see was cursor memory on an individual party member basis, or an option to have it default to position one between turns.
One minor design thing which is really just a string picture issue more than anything else is that the font scaling makes some of the digits and text really hard to read clearly. 2k3 Maniacs has a poorly documented feature which allows you to call fonts from a Font folder in the game directory however if you find something that scales a bit better while staying readable at those smaller sizes. Common free/openly distributable fonts like the k8x12 series fonts work really well for these sorts of smaller form interfaces, or just cramming tons of text into limited spaces. This was also a thing in your previous maniacs patch works, but was more noticeable here due to the layout not being kind to some of the letters/digits.
I'm surprised you never stole or solved the advanced autoscrolling key input thing which would make your menus feel less RPG Maker-ey and closer to what you'd expect of a console game. That comes with its own set of issues which are easy to solve on your own, however.
You probably ran out of time to make more elegant shop/levelup/bottle filling events since it was all done through text choices, but that's just jam time limits for you.
Good game, and good hustle.
Thank you for playing!
The CBS took a bit to finish because of how many different pictures and variables had to be shown on screen and moved around, but I'm happy with the end result. If I ever reuse it in another game down the line, I'll add in QOL features like the ones you listed.
I was using a custom font for some of the string picture commands, but I don't think I actually put it in the fonts folder. I'll have to include the font with the game the next time I upload a patch. >advanced autoscrolling key input
Hmm, could you give an example of this? I wanna test this out now that I'm not crunching on my jam game.
The gist of the autoscrolling event is you create a common event with this, and instead of manually adding in >Key Input Processing
you use >Call Common Event: (Whatever your auto scrolling event is)
as a drop-in replacement.
You should feel the difference almost immediately.
You can tweak the timing and feel by adding more wait frames, increasing/decreasing the response time by adjusting the variable threshold for Variable C in this image, and so forth.
Should I spike the level's exp curve or keep it in a straight line? Or even keep the curve low? What are the benefits of each take? The level cap for my RPG is 70.
If you curve it, you can add more content as the game goes on because it takes longer to level. Otherwise, it's better to just keep it straight if you don't have that padding since that's the most straightforward progression.
Has anyone else ran into an issue in the forest where these bosses keep re-spawning the second you beat them?
Been having a great time with Terry's Journey regardless, though.
Oh no. Sorry anon, I am uploading an updated version right now that fixes the battle. I forgot a switch that ends the event after combat, so it goes on forever. Sorry. Is there a way for your save file to be used in the new version? I have no idea if they can be transferred somehow. I hope you didn't have to grind too much... if you can't continue in the new version I just uploaded, you can try "cheating" by opening the one you have in RPGMaker2000 and editing the event in the forest. I hope that works.
It's cool. I ended up editing the file slightly to get past that point.
The sense of discovery your game gives through risk management (with eventual rewards) is refreshing ways I didn't expect. There are few games with random encounters I have the patience for, yet I found myself coming back to Terry, even after getting fricked out of entire runs (due to poor planning on my part, or not expecting a certain enemy array to show up).
That enemy variety helps keep me on my toes and further sink into the dangers of pokemon ambushes.
Excellent stuff.
Okay. Thank you anons for playing, I'm glad you liked it. I had so much fun making this game.

Correct. That is EasyRPG player through RetroArch using a CRT shader.
It feels most appropriate for playing IowaCorn titles since his cling to a retro style and feel which deserves a >CRT shader >controller
setup to enjoy to the fullest.

Nice. Could have been happening this entire time and we never knew about it until today.

I feel like there's too many commands I'm barely using for events and learning to use image commands would probably have the biggest impact on my games
The better question is, what are you trying to accomplish that you think image commands would enable you to do? This is a better angle to approach it from than "i need to use x or y command because... I just have to, ok!"
A problem that requires solving will be a better learning experience for you.
the "inner circle" is just a meme. there is a discord, but the one time i checked in on it it was completely dead. like "not even one post per month" dead.
I post my reviews here because I like to attach a drawing I do of one of the characters to it, but I havent done any for this jam yet. My reviews are still in this thread but goddamn I've had lowish motivation for art lately.

By my count we've got 95 video games. Meaning that the next jam will push us over 100. After that happens I can finally die, so I'm kind of counting on you guys to make some more games asap okay?
Sounds doable. I have no experience with video editing. Unless any anons want to work on it instead. It won't be done until well after the next jam anyways because we gotta hit 100 first, so no use worrying about it quite yet.
some kind of RPG with all of previous jam's main character as party member.
Crossover fighting game
Sounds difficult but interesting. 100 character party sounds insane. Fighting games require tons of animation, even MUGEN would be a real challenge.
I can't finish Terry's Adventure bros the attack sounds make me too horny all I see in my head is a huge breasted woman getting mating pressed by the enemies. Maybe my town's water supply has viagra in it.
Thanks for keeping an eye on it. I actually was still working on Hollow of Zerina. Now, I'm working on Beach of Arias. There's still a thing I want to put into Beach of Arias that completes the Summer theme. Then after Beach of Arias, I'm going to be doing the two week mon jam game, but I don't know what the jam theme after that one will be. Depending on what it is, I might get back to Hollow of Zerina. I'm not sure yet. Kind of excited for the mon jam to be honest. I got an idea I want to try out.
Played through 'Summer and Virtue'.
I'm a fan of dungeon crawlers, if not just for the atmosphere they exude. A great job was done on the color balancing and that dark sky. I liked the investigative/open world approach, the choice of music, and the use of stacking buffs and debuffs for combat.
Many of the battles seemed too easy, however. It might've been the order in which I went at certain quests. I'm no expert on these matters, but perhaps adding HP costs to certain physical attacks might challenge a player's sense of risk-reward factor.
Thanks a lot for submitting. It's really fun to walk around the map. The glib humor fits the game world pretty well, especially the zealous gorilla NPC.
Does anyone know which rpgm version has the built-in first person dungeon crawling and map building options in it. Is it MZ?
I keep getting fricked while trying to manage several plugins in VX.
Has anyone on here ever made anything that wasn't just insincere, sarcastic, dark, depressive and mentally ill shit?
It feels like the entire RPG Maker community was taken over by a really homosexual clique of hipsters somewhere around the time To The Moon released, which is a real shame considering the old one was fun-loving straightforward JRPGs and spoofs of the same.
No, that's why i'm asking.
Is it still the kind of insincere shit?
I wouldn't say we have much in terms of spoofs or direct parody but the jam games are usually pretty lighthearted and fun. They're also usually short enough you can complete em in a single sitting too. Why not give some of them a try?
Vrpgarchive.neocities.org
>Beach of Arias
Version I played was too short to give a real opinion, will have to download the new version later. >Lotus Eater Princess 1 1/2
Comfy as hell, super lighthearted with a fun battle system. Liked that the fishing minigame is just a simpler version of the previous Lotus Eater installment. Charming characters. >Terry's Journey
Still working on this one, I'm a bit of a shitter when it comes to rpgs that require a lot of grinding. I cheese my way through Digimon Dawn/Dusk every time I play because I know how to break it. >Summer and Virtue
Masterful aesthetics. Great atmosphere. Makes me wish I could run MV3D games better on my machine. Still technically not done with this one either, but I loved it. >A Cat in a House
Great potential. Characters and dialogue were funny and charming. I hope to see this dev return for future jams.

Thanks to everyone for playing Summer and Virtue. I'm going to take a break from here. I had some recent health issues and need to take care of my health. I'll be back in the future.
I'm nervous about this one. I have no idea how to do things like monster taming and party management and breeding/fusion. How would I implement a meat system in battle? How would I make a breeding shrine that combines stats and skills? If any anons have found guides or videos or tips for doing this in RPGMaker, I'd be really grateful.
I'll prolly just make the theme "monster" so anons can interpret it the way they want if a mon game is too hard. Monster can mean mon game, tamagotchi style raising sim for a single character that fights in battles, "monster" meaning something entirely different.
I'm going to have to start earlier myself because my life's getting busier irl. I use 2k3 so I'll try my hand at making a little event system for monster raising/breeding and share it here so other anons can use it.
For now: >I have no idea how to do things like monster taming
You can store their experience in a variable for each individual monster. Will write up a more detailed explanation if needed. >breeding/fusion
Fusion might be a little too ambitious for a 2/3 week jam, but I respect that. >How would I make a breeding shrine that combines stats and skills?
Adding variables together with a randomized allotment. Say you have a male mon with 9 attk and a female mon with 4 attk. What you do is you make the baby's variable random between 4-9. Same with all the other stats. Skills... I'll have to think on this one. A little more complicated than variables, would probably require a lot of switches.
I was thinking of making monsters have a chance to drop an item which would recruit it to your party, simple enough. Combining stats makes sense now, thank you for that. As for skills, could I make a conditional event where if X monster is level Y, it learns skill Z, then make a shitload of variations of this for every possible monster/skill combo? Then after breeding a monster, it triggers a switch that essentially "inherits" the right conditional skillset. >anons can interpret it the way they want if a mon game is too hard
I feel like it would take way too long for me to figure this stuff out so I'll just make a game based on monsters. But it might be useful to include one or two ideas maybe and other anons could be more ambitious. >I use 2k3 so I'll try my hand at making a little event system for monster raising/breeding
Thanks anon, very cool.
Just gonna leave some brainstorming here since the theory of making some sort of dynamic learnset for mons produced via fusion/breeding isn't difficult on its own.
The jam games have hints in their endings when you complete all 6 jam game and collect all the endings and solve the puzzle the theme of the next jam will be revealed to you.
Anon I'm not the only Narutaru fan on the planet but I too am probably going to start early just because irl responsibilities keep me busy.
I encourage those who wanna start now to start now, those who want a hard start and deadline can start whenever they want. The jams are just here to get anons making.
The first couple jams were hosted by the username Sordis.
But they didn't participate themselves. Or in any other Jam.
This bothers the schizos that live on this board like you wouldn't believe. These Jams have taken over their lives, but rather than admit they lack impulse control, they attest the distractingly radiant virility of St. Sordis who founded the brotherhood of (YOU) before departing through heaven's gate as the chosen one.
As it is written in the Apocrypha of Anon, Sordis will come again to lead a holy war against the false god worshiped by Nodev. In those days to come, there will be no more jams. Only blood and Sneed.

nobody's mad about sordis not submitting games, i still believe he will one day return to the jam threads and deliver
Oh, iowacorn-sama, I completely forgot to tell you but you forgot to make the transfer event in the secret room of the first town lead outside.
Kino game like usual btw, loved it. And thanks for the namecall, I am honoured.
Thanks for telling me, I'll get it changed in a bit. I was hasty towards the end and missed a lot of details. I'm glad anons have liked it and keep finding problems, this way the games aren't perpetually bugged.
>no jam thread for 10 hours
what the frick, I deleted my project thinking you guys cancelled it
Forcing myself to make daily progress, post yours anon.
Despite the memes, there is no jam discord where we all meet up and plan these them. The only way a jam could get cancelled is if the person who made the jam deletes the page. The whole "jam cancelled" thing was a meme too.
Heck, I'm probably falling for a meme right now too.
You are, I never had a project to begin with! Busy month, doing some projects for another fanbase.
I am regretting making a rule to have a second dialogue with every NPC, like in the Tales of games. It's a lot of writing.
Cozy swamp.
If I don't get everything done, at least there will be a fishing minigame again.
>freshly butchered Sentrets
Aw, that's one of my favorite johtomons.... Hopefully Terry can rescue them
I like the aesthetic you're going for here.
When I saw Terry, I almost thought you put Terry A. Davis into the game for a second there!
Terry has shit taste, blood sausage is goddamn delicious.
I think it's time to pivot this project to some really small scale prototype and then move it to some other engine. I'm just about done fighting against RPG Maker at every step. Coming up with MacGyverian solutions for stuff was fun for a while but now I'm pretty deep inside the land of "It's all so tiresome."
Boy oh boy I sure can't wait for more quirky YIIK-"inspired" RPGs that are actually about depression.
What if I make a game about jamais wu?
Sounds like somebody hasn't played the jam games.

When did jam threads lose its soul?
When all the idea guys that never upload anything flooded in and the community became 10% creators 90% people who will never make anything just sit there and share their boring uninspired thoughs that theyre convinced are quirky and unique.
when Gankerermin starting posting in the threads.
Thoughs?
OY VEY! Good idea, instant "Goyim of The Year Edition" on release day. I will tell my media to shill it hard because ~~*#coexist*~~, my cattle friend.
>gang violance
Racist. Everyone knows that BIPOCQIA are mass murdered by toxic white male Hitler worshipping cops.
Anons, how do I start? I bought RPG Maker MV. Any good videos or something I can watch to start out?
The built-in tutorial and tooltips are really good. You should do the tutorial and explore all the different pages and options while reading the tooltips.
Thanks, I’ll try that.
Never failed me before.
Nothing needs to fail you, you've failed yourself, just your consequences haven't caught up to you yet.
Nah. I learn by trying, specially hobbies.
This is the mindset that actually creates something.

https://docs.google.com/document/d/14ignTofv_bDRVHPUk9_sEpLUjuFyxpuy2Cr9mXDwkb0/
The thread was from 2016, so don't b***h at me if there's no resources for your version.
Are there any plugins or ways to increase the amount of pages for each tileset setting?
Nope. Just make different tilesets for different rooms with only the items you want in them.
I was planning to do a large hub like city area, and since most building tiles are in A~ tiles it's not possible, at least the way I'd like to do it. Guess I'll just have to parallax map it.
I put together the hub map and realized it's cramped despite my plan keeping things pretty big for MV, it has all the locations but really I'm going to need to rework it I think. I made a traffic light model but putting it in would make things even more cramped.
yeah, sidewalks should be at least two tiles wide, I figured that out pretty quick when messing with mz3d
I'm getting LSD Dream Emulator vibes, my favorite 3D aesthetic. Such a fun game to explore.
>multiple carolines
I can't wait to find out why.
>Hopefully Terry can rescue them
I've got bad news for you. I love Sentret too, all Johtomon (Slugma is my favorite). But I wanted a game where they were standard JRPG enemies for a long time.
>turn based ffx
>side view
Very cool system.
>I almost thought you put Terry A. Davis into the game for a second there

You absolute madman... Something is really funny about Terry Davis's portrait just being a picture of him.

Is that a dungeon crawler?
YEAH!
I decided to remake the entire game. shit 2 themes are really hard for me.
Ah, 8 days. Time to start working on my game.
>less than 8 days left
Oh god... oh frick... I might take a day off at work just to work on my jam game at this point
>get a whole month
>spend a week to work on game yet again
Just jam things
Hopefully I'll finish but external factors are making it hard.
Post progress bros, inspire me.
>people are already reviewing games before they come out
wtf
>he doesn't have the power of foreknowledge
ngmi
The frick are you talking about
Huuuuh. Why is it that when it's time to post "next jam when?!?!?!" the threads fill up in less than a day but when jams are ongoing nobody says anything?
Because most people are here to suggest next jams theme not to actually participate.
>suggest jam theme
>don't make jam game
>don't play jam games
>don't talk about jam after it starts
...????
...
?
If it was MY jam theme I WOULD participate, duh.
Honestly I wish they would propose more interesting themes or something.
I blame them for my unfinished games
I'm going to make the next jam and the theme will be oviposition and tit milking and feet and pussy eatin
We'll finally get the porn theme jam.
I just don't understand it. The themes are optional. Just make whatever you want, with your own theme, and submit it. As long you're from Ganker and not some random b***h mass submitting games to jams on itch, then who cares? At least 25% of the games made, total, barely fit the themes.
I feel less of a human if I don't follow the theme. most of the time it just makes the work harder and I ended up not submitting anything.
Im legit not going to make it, ill have to finish my game outside the jam and post it as an independent work 🙁
C-can we get an deadline extension
No. You will upload the incomplete game, you will get ridiculed, and you will learn for the next time.
C-can we get an deadline cutback?

Newest RPG Maker will have malware in it. Maybe. Probably not, but it's a small possibility!
Ok i think the first frame is finished now.
cute
You missed the spot between her legs. Looking forward to what you’ve got next.
Was thinking about making an RPG based on my 4yr running D&D game. 4 Players and a tag-along every now and then. If not for release, just for fun. My DM notes are extensive and I have done write-ups for each adventure and side quest they've gone on.
Im starting to work on frame 2 now.
Also before anyone gets the wrong idea and gets disapointed there isnt going to be any pussy or dick visable on the screen its always going to be covered up(for the player) by a beam of light or someone walking in front of the camera and it blocking the view etc.
why is this thread so dead.
I'm hauling ass on my game right now and don't want to post too much progress so I can stay motivated.
i'm making my game
I felt like giving up, but suddenly I really want to finish the game.
Are those custom trees? They look great.
NEVER give up!
ty. And yeah, everything should be custom in the final product. I just started drawing.
That's great, keep it up, this rando anon believes in you! I am also making everything from scratch so I feel you on that level, though my stuff's not for the jam, I'm just hanging out here cause the other RPGM thread exploded into schizophrenia meltdowns.
Writing this was more embarrassing than writing and drawing the porn somehow.
Nice trees. Very cedar.
I like the colors of the potions a lot.
what jam games ARENT sappy as frick? i guess the emsey ones are pretty cynical
>i guess the emsey ones are pretty cynical
Really? What makes you feel that way 'cuz that wasn't my intention with any of them?
I underestimated how much bookkeeping I needed for something like this
This is for the current jam right?
Yes. It's going to be painful finishing the entire game in the time left but you WILL see a finished product.
Holy cow. Good luck. I'm feeling beaming motivated now.
Keep them books, boy.
Keep them books.
I give up.
6 days until the jam's over?
time to rework 2/3's of my game's plot!

Does this look like a opened zipper getting covered up by the sun?
Yeah, pretty erotic actually
The zipper looks closed to me. Also, I would never guess it's supposed to be a sun ray. I don't know if you can even make a sun ray effect work with this simplistic MS Paint artsyle.
Dead thread.
I'm working on my game!
>game starts having random glitch I've never seen before where it freezes on the screen transition
Guess I won't be finishing after all.
Never mind, it was just 2k3 briefly being a cruel mistress. I'm still gmi.
Why is this engine so mean bros
BOO
is there any game that has so much content packed into it
or is diverse in routes like omori/the pulsating mass?
maybe if you pick up japanese rpgm games like tobiden
Making puzzles to get unlockables hasn't been too complicated, luckily I have a bunch from a big project that I can just yoink if it comes to that.
Also probably won't be posting progress anymore until the jam is over because I want to motivate myself to finish.
>only 4 more days
IT'S OVER
4 more days? Time to get started.
At this point I think there's about a 10% chance that I'll make something remotely worth playing before the deadline. I ran into so many different problems during this process that it just took the wind out of my sails. But I also learned a lot of new stuff, so it wasn't wasted by any means.
Don't worry, anon, nobody here cares about the game being good. We only care about it being fun/funny.
i decided to do this at my own pace, i probably can make it if i rush but i don't wanna rushed quality, I'll submit it not finished and probably finish it post-deadline
Taking time off work to finish my jam game!
There better be at least 20 games when this is over
There will be ~8.
I remember there were at least 25 six days ago, when I was about to leave the jam, it's already 24.
Reminds me of the one day jam and how many people actually delivered. Totally unexpected.
We are making it.
Been staying up until 5 AM every night to work on my game
RELEASE THE GAMES
I didn't realize until now that Mewtwo's head looks like a Thanksgiving turkey dinner.
Uh, it sure has been awhile. I guess everyone is extremely busy. Any progress, anons?
I regret not doing the art earlier. Caught up on characters. Going to have to do the story tomorrow and the enemies but thank god the events are placed, just needs to have a fricking script added in and god will it suck. I really will just be speedrunning the art tomorrow for the most part. My game wound up being more Horror/Religion than Horror/Summer but that's okay.
looks sick as frick
Thanks.
It runs a lot better than my last one, not sure why, might just be plugin updates. Also frick me upon play testing I realized the intro is fricked and after name entry the characters skills aren't working, time to redo the entire intro.
I hear ya, I won't be sleeping tonight it seems.
I'm not posting any more progress to motivate myself to finish, cutting it sorta close this time.
God I hope my computer can run this. It shits itself with mz3d games
It's over
>entrants dropped to 22

Who's still in?
Still in, working out the kinks right now. Going to stay awake all night to finish then buy MH Sunbreak as a reward to myself.
I'm so sick of testing, making changes, testing, making changes, testing, making changes, etc... the closer I get to the end, the more overwhelming it feels somehow.
I'm in, just got to finish maps and enemies. Then I've got a few images to draw.
I'm gonna make it.... I'M GONNA MAKE IT! I'M GOING TO FINISH MY JAM GAME!
Damn right. We're all gonna make it! Keep up the good work, anons!!
people make fun of him for doing that but i tried it and honestly it's a good choice

Okay, I think I fixed it
>drawing everything several hours before the jam's over
this is unironically fun
Im just going to start making my game now and just upload something completely off topic as soon as next jam starts.
Whenever a new jam starts i just permanently procrastinate until its too late and feel sad that i didnt finish it in time because i started seriously working on it 1 day away from ending and theres no way i can finish it in time in 1 day.
I think i have some sort of mentall illness.

Here's my game. I really hope I didn't forget anything important.
Oh frick, found a mistake. Please re-download in a minute if you already did. I had to delete a little "cheat" I used for testing...

I had to wind up reusing something from an old game of mine. Frick it. It had to be done. I just gotta get it out there because my upload means this will take forever and no more time to spare. Going out for icecream while I wait for this to finish.
Extended the jam until tomorrow midnight so everyone has time to submit their games
>tfw rushed my game out for nothing
Reminds me of the A student who is already done with the assignment, but the slackers and the giving their all despairers who use every minute they can get always take whatever extension they can get ever if they don’t use it.
Thanks, it's looking like my game won't be uploaded until around midnight so this helps.
Thanks, was going to ask about that.
No, I gave up.
How many extensions can you do? It'd be funny if we had an eternal game jam...
Me too, anon.
10 year extension
How about we don't even have jams and we just release the games whenever
No extension needed. Just release it now then update later.
tfw no feedback
Anon everyone is working on their games and I'm waiting until everyone is done to play. I tend to play all the jam games in one go.
Also it tends to take a few days for feedback anyways.

RIP. I only really think of "my upload got fricked up" late submissions as being legit. Still want to see what gets posted if anything else does, though.
A DLC can be better than the real game.
I told you the theme was no good.
Actually it was horror/summer
>b-but muh real submissions!
this opinion is both shitty and irrelevant, someone elses effort doesnt get invalidated for not meeting your requirements
Based.
No, i dont think i will.
Oh well.
>22 entrees
>only 4 games
The absolute state
No more infighting!
If you think the jam is done, play the games. If you're working on your game, finish it.
Is it possible to submit 2 games to one jam? Thinking about making one in one day because I'm bored.
It is.
where the pizza jam on the list of jams i want to check how many submissions the 1 hour long jam got
1 day long*
I hope they make games for the jams too.
why we fight
Depending on the state he goes to, that's the true horror.
Noooo
sorry for the buggy game.....
Worked. Don't worry about having a few bugs here and there, we've all had them.
Characters are funny so far.
I hope more anons pull through tonight, I want to play some jam kino and I'm going to be done with all the ones posted in like two days anyways. I can just replay all of Jet if this is all we get though.
Oh, I think i know, you need to equip weapons manually (i kinda forgot to add a check, i'll patch it when i get home)
https://ojosama.itch.io/lotuseater1half
It is done... I am going to go drink to celebrate now.
Already kino
>only 5 games
yeah, I'm glad I didn't participate, being the center of attention would be horrible
>more chances to have your game played the fewer games there are
Frick, should've made one.
Based old man is a bleached chad
All the jam games get played eventually
Thank you all for playing and posting about the bugs, I just released a new version with some fixes!
Thank you for the kind words, I wanted to make 5 billion diary entries to go even more in depth but writing that much dialogue would take me out.
I'm unable to leave this house. Also, you can open the menu even when dialogue is ongoing.
finished lotus eater princess, i really like it, especially the portraits of the chars, good job dev.
Uhhhhhh so where are the rest of the games?
has anyone here ever used wolf rpg editor? how is it compared to rpg maker?
You cant script your own code in wolf rpg editor, menus are bad.
You can make your sprites and tilesets any resolution you want.
Its free unlike rpg maker.
How do i combine 2 tilesets together so i can use them both on the same map.
Remove the stuff on Tileset 1 you aren’t going to use and replace it with Tileset 2 stuff you are going to use.
Event tile the parts of a different tileset you want to use by making them part of your character spritesheets.
>no more submissions
Wow
>jam ends in a minute
>no hype
What happened bros...
>extension only got us 2 new games
LMAO
2 more games is something good
Its better than nothing.
Stay positive.
We need to make sure its not 3 games next jam.
>22 participents
>6 games
Is this the worst drop off in vrpg jam history?
I was playing dragon's dogma.
dogma balls
Unfortunately I was pretty busy so I couldn't make it. I got the story and progression system figured out too.
I'll save it for the next jam and fudge it a bit to match the theme
I am saving my dev juice for the Xjam (it stands for roman 10, but also EXTREME)
Updated the archive. Good effort anons.
Thanks for maintaining it. I get a lot of views and downloads from the archive.
I'm glad people find it useful. I'm very lazy but I promise, some day, I will upload the recent games since I think Jam 8.5 to catbox as a backup.
Also, if anyone has any cool links to resources, forums, etc related to the games they've made, post and I will add it to the links section.
It's possible that summer time = go outside, even for lazy NEET anons. Family might drag you on vacations or visits, etc. I almost dropped out because of that.
I love the positioning of the top left two. Looks like they're judging you.
This happens pretty much every jam. Some more than others though.
>I need to make something different from my last games
>And it needs to be meticulously planned out and not a bunch of half baked ideas cobbled together
>Man I have no ideas for anything but I'm sure it'll come to me eventually
>I thought of something!
>It was shit never mind.
>wait how is it july 21 it was june a few days ago
I'm surprised I even managed to make 3 games in a row. 2 of which while uni was in for the semester.
The 10th jams theme is very important because its the 10th one.
Maybe make the theme "Trans rights" to send a good message about positivity and acceptantence?
Or make the theme "porn" to get more people to play the games?
Make the 10th jam themeless so as many people as possible participate.
All the people who completed their games left hints for the next jam theme at the end credits. Be sure to play them all
No, i dont think i will.
Same, #NoMakeNoPlayGang.
Im just here for the thread.
Uploadoids get their own separate discord server only for people who uploaded a game to a jam so we should make our own thread too for people who have never uploaded or played a jam game.
our own discord server*
Hello?
so what would be next jam's theme?
Summoners
I feel like that's too visual.
I would just as soon say Gods, Werewolves, Slimes. But then I remember it's RPG Maker.
Funny that you mention that, as my idea for the game I didn't finish this jam was basically just Devil Summoner without the summoning.
Bromance
Anything but voting
The health kits in A cat in A House doesn't work. I can't heal.
use it in the action menu when you press q
>Give them a day
10 games finished
>give them 30 days
6 games finished
Why?
>Give them a day
Oh, shit, I have to do it right now.
>Give them 30 days
Eh, I'll do it tomorrow.
All jams from now on will be 1 hour long.
>Unity
You'll be literally installing malware on your computer, anon.
This, it's time to move on to Godot.
Jewnity had a good run.
>Gankerirgins shitting up the thread
damn i thought they'd frick off after we waited like 2 months for this jam to start but they've been hanging around lol
Brainlet here. What's the answer for the chess password?
positions of the chess pieces in the grid
oh damn it's already over?!
Horror was a nice theme to play with, would not mind doing again.
Really though, why is the thread so dead?
wait you actually thought more than 1 or 2 people play the jam games?
The Rapist (mental)
Also for a second I thought this was the male character and the knight was female. Goddamn crossdressing fetish...
Two people besides me have posted progress so at least THREE have played the jam games. You've been fricking owned.
Accidentally gave her a fitting name I see
Alright, how do we make jam threads more popular?
they already attract too many Gankerermin. i don't give a damn about a wider audience, but it's like... this thread has 60 ips and no more than a couple of people actually playing the games. devs would be more motivated to make games if they knew people would bother playing em.
I'll only play the games if they are actually RPGs.
Gunner is busted, critical eye boost + mag dump just destroys everything. How is mental?
Player kinda takes a backseat to her party members, Power and Principality carry the team
I want them to return to normal before the rats came in for whatever reason.
What is the best RPG Maker battle system?
The artist guy is in here right? How do I get in?
Yeah there's only 7 total, then it's back to Isaac for back to title screen. Thank you so much for playing, happy you liked it.
is it possible to have more freedom in editing itch io page?
I'd have an easier time playing all your games if rpgmakers other than vx ace were not a piece of shit to get running on linux.
The gist of the autoscrolling event is you create a common event with this, and instead of manually adding in
>Key Input Processing
you use
>Call Common Event: (Whatever your auto scrolling event is)
as a drop-in replacement.
You should feel the difference almost immediately.
You can tweak the timing and feel by adding more wait frames, increasing/decreasing the response time by adjusting the variable threshold for Variable C in this image, and so forth.
Feeling like the Squidward of /vrpg/ I wanna go home from my minimum wage job to play some jam kino
Do you not go home everyday?
Trying to play Beach of Arias but I keep jobbing to Sandman no matter what I do. He kills me in one hit.
Try buying armour.
Very short game, can't really give a lengthy response on it.
Yeah, it's supposed to be like 15 minutes, but I don't think it reaches that unless you lose a few times. Thanks for playing what there is!
I only have Terry's Journey left to play now but I'm scared because Kanticle for Kumquat made me freak the frick out for I am a "pussy boy"
Make the jams 3 day long so more people upload.
We have seen from this jam that more time=/=more games.
1 day=10 games 30 days=6 games
Finally got to playing the jam games.
Started with Beach of Arias, it was ok I guess.
You WILL play my game
Which game
No.
All the games have been played besides Terry's Adventure
>nooo only 6 jam games hahahah nooo
sounds like some of you don't know about the secret discord-exclusives...
Pack it up boys the discord shitposting has started again see you all when I make the next jam in two weeks
>only two weeks before the next jam
Thought it would be in September for sure.
I wanna make a week long mon game jam. Itll be 9.5
That sounds fun. Count me in.
go for it
Mon game probably kind of hard to make in just a week... give us 2
Alright, 2 weeks. Thats as high as Im going.
... 15 days.
No.
i thought it would be a funny joke to make. sorry. there's not actually a discord with secret games on it.
I'm starting to work on my mon jam game's design doc right now!
That's it?
>Sorry. Is there a way for your save file to be used in the new version?
Not him but you just move the save.lsd. Don't worry about it mr. corn.
Okay. Thank you anons for playing, I'm glad you liked it. I had so much fun making this game.
Having the same issue with this boss.
Motherfricker did you just take a photograph of your goddamn screen
The angle is too straight, anon is playing with a crt filter somehow
Correct. That is EasyRPG player through RetroArch using a CRT shader.
It feels most appropriate for playing IowaCorn titles since his cling to a retro style and feel which deserves a
>CRT shader
>controller
setup to enjoy to the fullest.
>an anon actually goes through the effort of using Kinovision to play one of our games
Nice. Could have been happening this entire time and we never knew about it until today.
I recognize that scratch on the screen. See you in 20 minutes
>it happened again
Well frick me anons. I'll give her the old fix. Would you also post a screenshot of my game from a map? I'm curious to see how my own tileset looks with a CRT filter. I'm not very good at pixel art and I bet there isn't any of that shading hardly.
>Ojo
Mr. Iowa, are the npcs named after other participants?
Retinacyst is the merchant in Pallet.
Goburinbro is the merchant in Viridian.
Ojosama is the merchant in Pewter.
Emseydev, Maldon, and Minkulus are merchants in Cerulean.
>it's real
Anon... I'm so flattered... You're gonna make me cry
Sorry for putting off your game so long I've been addicted to a certain manga lately.
>tfw didn't get namedropped
Hopefully I can finish this tonight, if not it'll be a fun way to pass time tomorrow. I want to frick Candy...
Not him but what's your name I'll namedrop you in my next game
I'm sorry anon, I didn't have enough shops to make merchants. I could squeeze in a secret merchant if you want. What's your itch name? I will put it in.
You're welcome, anon. Not to sound gay but... I love all the anons. Devs, ideaguys, schizos, feds, I don't care. I love you all. If you're anon, I love you. Hell, even the bots!
We're destined to be invisible, brother.
make a more interesting game next time
Joke's on you, I didn't make one.
I can't make anything.
And so the Council of Top Jammers reveal themselves...
Everybody is a top jammer, anon.
Oh shit.. looks like I've got to finally start playing the games now.
we're reaching levels of soul that weren't thought possible
Also, I fixed the final boss's stats, which were all 1 for testing purposes. If you want to edit the game yourself, give the final boss Mewtwo 666 HP and 66 in every other stat.
Oh cool better than I thought. Thank you.
What now
Play the jam games!
Play the fricking games.
>but i did
Play the OLD fricking games!
>but i did
Then start making a new game!
I need to learn to use image commands better
What do you mean
I feel like there's too many commands I'm barely using for events and learning to use image commands would probably have the biggest impact on my games
The better question is, what are you trying to accomplish that you think image commands would enable you to do? This is a better angle to approach it from than "i need to use x or y command because... I just have to, ok!"
A problem that requires solving will be a better learning experience for you.
Boomers are so cringey
*cough*
How do 2k and 2k3 differ outside of the default combat system?
So how do I get invited into the inner circle? No one ever namedrops me.
Theres no "inner circle" all the people in Terrys Adventure are just anons whove submitted 4+ games to the jams and therefore are known
the "inner circle" is just a meme.
there is a discord, but the one time i checked in on it it was completely dead. like "not even one post per month" dead.
Don't even meme about there being a discord for these threads. If discord gets involved a lot of anons will stop participating. I know I will.
>want to be namedropped but also want to stay anonymous
Such is life on Ganker...
Have you played my game yet?
Yes
>not a single review on the submissions page
Jams really have died huh?
Ojousama has one, but it’s on the actual game page
I post my reviews here because I like to attach a drawing I do of one of the characters to it, but I havent done any for this jam yet. My reviews are still in this thread but goddamn I've had lowish motivation for art lately.
>accidentally unplugs headphones playing rpgmaker 2000 game
Why does the program do this
My PC does that too, but I always just assumed it's because I don't have speakers.
RM2k/3 HATES when something happens/changes with audio drivers.
I use headphones exclusively and it flat out won't run and throws that error in a big wall if I try starting a game without my headphones plugged in at all.
>going through vrpg game jam archive
By my count we've got 95 video games. Meaning that the next jam will push us over 100. After that happens I can finally die, so I'm kind of counting on you guys to make some more games asap okay?
next jam will only have 4 games.
So this is how the jams will die, not with a bang but with a whimper.
Next jam being a mon game jam is a banger though.
Not at all.
I want to do something really cool for passing the 100th game mark on the archive. Any suggestions anons?
The best thing I can think of is a montage video composing of one or two screenshots from every game in chronological order to celebrate 100 games.
Sounds doable. I have no experience with video editing. Unless any anons want to work on it instead. It won't be done until well after the next jam anyways because we gotta hit 100 first, so no use worrying about it quite yet.
Sounds difficult but interesting. 100 character party sounds insane. Fighting games require tons of animation, even MUGEN would be a real challenge.
Crossover fighting game
some kind of RPG with all of previous jam's main character as party member.
>Of Fate and Unknown 2: Electric Boogaloo
I can't finish Terry's Adventure bros the attack sounds make me too horny all I see in my head is a huge breasted woman getting mating pressed by the enemies. Maybe my town's water supply has viagra in it.
Hey Hollow of Zerina is not even finished yet and the dev already making two new games.
I have about 8 unfinished projects on my itch.io page and I still keep making new ones.
Built-in? Doesn't exist. There's a plugin for MV and MZ.
Thank you. Much appreciated.
I will start my own personal jam. The game will be uploaded next friday at midnight. The theme will be determined after the game is completed.
>The game will be uploaded next friday at midnight
I'm gonna hold you to that!
It will exist but I can't promise quality!
Anon... have you played any of the jam games?
No, that's why i'm asking.
Is it still the kind of insincere shit?
I wouldn't say we have much in terms of spoofs or direct parody but the jam games are usually pretty lighthearted and fun. They're also usually short enough you can complete em in a single sitting too. Why not give some of them a try?
Vrpgarchive.neocities.org
There's plenty of rpgm games not like that and they're easy to find if you didn't buy into that moronic meme.
>sarcastic, dark, depressive and mentally ill shit?
Just avoid my games tbh
Games like that are super easy to find, are you even trying anon?
Go back to the other thread. This is the jam one, do not derail it.
I mean i would be happy if he stuck around and read the responses and maybe tried some of the games.
Hello?
POST GAMES
PLAY THE GAMES
I can't. The winds stopped me from even booting up my pc for the last 3 days.
If I make a mobile version, would you play it
Sure
REVIEW THE GAMES
Thanks to everyone for playing Summer and Virtue. I'm going to take a break from here. I had some recent health issues and need to take care of my health. I'll be back in the future.
rest well anon. thanks for making it, it was a good one.
Rest well and take your time. Really enjoyed your past entries and am looking forward to whenever you’re ready for another.
Bless you, Sylvester Palzone.
i will after i'm done making my game
Main menu design is hard...
I'm to the point where I almost just want to leave stuff as my (仮) designs and colors as an aesthetic all on its own.
next jam doko?
I'll make the mon jam page tomorrow for those who want a head start, but it technically starts in a week.
For now:
>I have no idea how to do things like monster taming

Okay it's up, cover image is a placeholder for now
Cool, I'll try participating
>yourpgm-game-jam-95-monster
Damn.. 95 jams already? Where did the time go?
I have been working on a game about killing monsters does that count?
>page is updated
Cute!
Thank you anon
>mon jam
Time to bust out the mysterious syringe for one last ride
What's the next theme going to be?
The jam games have hints in their endings when you complete all 6 jam game and collect all the endings and solve the puzzle the theme of the next jam will be revealed to you.
Did anyone find all the jam emeralds?
One day we'll have a musical theme jam
homie you want me to learn music theory and how to make music in time for a jam?
just make a AMV out of your favorite song or something
I would do it, even if it meant there only being one song.
Tournament jam when
Is that like a game where we all pitch in minigames that are played at a carnival? Neat idea.
Post progress
jam doesn't start for another 6 days
I've got the capturing part of a mon clone to work wohoo!
Tomorrow I'm gonna add monster fusion.
>emseymon
KINO
Anon I'm not the only Narutaru fan on the planet but I too am probably going to start early just because irl responsibilities keep me busy.
I encourage those who wanna start now to start now, those who want a hard start and deadline can start whenever they want. The jams are just here to get anons making.
So change the date, and if people want to start later they can.
No
>instantly joins your party midbattle, with restored health and somehow even gaining more health from Emsey attacking
kino mechanic
I hope you won't be too disappointed if the gaining more health part won't end up in the final game
Excited to see what awaits in three weeks.
0 games.
>jam #99
>Sordis still hasn't made a game
who?
>who?
exactly
Since we're on a jam thread, I'm gonna shill a game I made with a friend for IGMC 2022: https://missingseven.itch.io/ouroboros
Since it's a jam game you can play ot for free
It's actually finished, even though it's really short, but heh, jam rules
looks cool
nobody's mad about sordis not submitting games, i still believe he will one day return to the jam threads and deliver
Deliver Us!
Thanks anon
>only 6 days are left to the end
Its over...
it's 6 days until the start actually
Might start early because I've got a burst of inspiration.
>narutaru
>inspiration
looking forward to your test tube rape game, anon
So you're going to change the start date?
Share some of that inspiration. I'm already in the rejecting ideas that will last until the final two days of the jam phase.
maybe i'll make a game this time idk. how are you guys feeling
You WILL make Jet Mon
what would a mon game in that setting even look like? not jet dev btw.
Gregory deploys his fish
now that i've wasted the last few jams coming up with ideas i can sift through them and frankenstein the best ones together for the next one
>I'm free from work next week
Perfect timing for a jam!
>tfw still working on my unfinished jam game so can't join any new jams
Does anyone know how to event for shooting projectiles on the map, like at overworld enemies, in RPG2003?
Oh, iowacorn-sama, I completely forgot to tell you but you forgot to make the transfer event in the secret room of the first town lead outside.
Kino game like usual btw, loved it. And thanks for the namecall, I am honoured.
Thanks for telling me, I'll get it changed in a bit. I was hasty towards the end and missed a lot of details. I'm glad anons have liked it and keep finding problems, this way the games aren't perpetually bugged.
New thread where
I'd make one but I can't on mobile
Gimme a sec so I can make a nice new image for it.
