rpg's for this feel? specifically the style of kf2(jp) and kf4. first person dungeon crawling metroidvanias with lots of routing options. i have played all the old from softies and a lot of newer imitation games on steam, but i am having those vidya pregnancy cravings for something in that vein. i dont mind if it is new or old as long as it is emulatable if on a console.
Anon, kings field is just a dungeon crawler for morons with surreal aesthetics. If you want to huff your own farts while playing a game for complete morons just pick any ps1 jrpg at random. They are all the same.
Ok games with surreal aesthetics then..?
>first person dungeon crawling metroidvanias
have a nice day NOW
You dont like Dungeon crawlers? Do you even like RPGs?
But seriously now OP
, games like Ultima Underworld might be up your alley. Try out some party based Dungeon crawlers as well, such as Wizardry (Llylgamyn saga, 6, 7 and the GBC Gaiden) and Elminage. There is one First person game I personally enjoy a lot, that isnt exactly a Dungeon crawler though, that is Legends of Amberland. I found It very fun really, and fast paced.
>You dont like Dungeon crawlers
He just played through both Grimrock games.
What
>You dont like Dungeon crawlers?
No because I'm not trans
What rpgs do you play? Cant think of an answer that wont be the absolute xwitter troonycore
call of duty modern warfare 2
He is not wrong
Seethe more
I would like some more games like King's Field as well. Have you played 1, 3, or Pilot Style yet? There's Shadow Tower and Shadow Tower Abyss as well, also Fromsoft titles. Some people might recommend Eternal Ring but outside of running at 60 FPS, I found it to be kinda weak, especially its level design.
yeah like i said i already played all the classic fromsoft games. even pilot style. kf3(jp) didnt grip me like 2 and 4 did. it just felt more linear and less interesting to me personally. just go into each dungeon get the mcguffin. almost legend of zelda ish. cool for its time i suppose, and a huge step up in quality of life, but a step down in between 2 and 4 in terms of level interconnectivity.
i would be interested to hear of these other games on ps1 that do what from was doing in the kings fields and shadow towers. most ps1 jrpgs are like like ff7 or suikoden in style. and not really relevant to this thread.
what else would you call them? interconnected level design, progress blocked off by keys or equipment such as the pickaxe in 4 or the limited use keys in 2. if you know a better genre descriptor im all ears, but the king's field and shadow tower games have more in common with sotn or metroid than they do with some slop like daggerfall or skyrim.
first person ARPG you moronic poser
sorry anon i dont really care about impressing you. yes its an action rpg but it is a metroidvania as well. many metroidvanias are action rpgs. its like squares and rectangles.
>metroidvania
no such thing eixist to redditroon homosexual, Castlevania games like Sodomy Of The Night are just ARPG's
yeah sure thing anon, go take your meds also
yeah i enjoy a blobber from time to time, the wizardries are all cool in their own ways, not exactly what i was looking for this time though. elminage has been on my to play list for a while now as i love that games style. i suppose the action element is something i am moreso looking for, but i dont want something as fast paced as your usual first person action rpg's like dark messiah or arx fatalis where you may as well be playing ab fps. i want methodical slow route preparation, level clearing and puzzle solving.
>anything that isn't a completely linear series of hallways broken up by exposition is a "metroidvania"
Holy hell, jrpg Black folk are moronic.
ever consider dungeon master nexus? kinda similar but also kinda a blobber.
yeah this is the type of shit, thanks anon
yeah i played lunacid already, cool game and i dont care if the devs a gay as i am also a gay, i am op after all.
yeah i also liked the remake. i enjoyed the original and 2 as well.
honestly i haven't seen any proof the dev is a gay come through in the game itself, seems like a bunch of hearsay or a kneejerk reaction to some kind of iro ic shitpost they may have made that some autistic moronic Gankerigger didn't get
Might wanna check out Lunacid.
dev might be a gay, but you can't really be picky with a nearly dead genre
Not OP but I heard it is a really easy game. Is this true?
Ive avoided this game for a while because of it
Pretty easy, especially if you level speed. You can just out walk everything.
Maybe System Shock? The remake was really good. That one had you backtracking around the space station a lot more than I was expecting.
