why would i want a used gpu knowing what people do with those things?
In the vast majority of cases, it will be fine. I myself did buy a RTX 4070 because I got a really good deal; otherwise, I would likely try to get a used 3080 that is selling for like 350 dollars where I live.

My PC is ancient at this point. I'm still on DDR3 for example. I can't just shove a new GPU in it and expect it to perform optimally.

You still need a CPU, a PSU, a motherboard, a Case, a Keyboard, a mouse, a 1440p monitor, and ram. A good PC these days is $1,000 minimum
The PS5 has games though. It can play any multiplatform game (unlike 95% of potato PCs) and Sony has a host of exclusives: Bloodborne, Ghost of Tsushima, Horizon 2, God of War Ragnarok, Spiderman 2, Uncharted, Demon Souls Remastered, Final Fantasy 16 etc.

If you don't understand why this is inherently moronic you are lost. There is ZERO discernable difference between any graphics card at a 3080 tier and above card when gaming at 1080p because of CPU bottlenecking and downsampling to 1440p instead of just playing it natively makes you a double moron.

Until the 4070 super comes out it's still the one that makes the most sense to buy if you want an nvidia card and don't want to break the bank for 4090.

I have a 3090 and play at 1080p. It already looks good at that res, so what's the point of losing frames and having higher temps running at the meme res?
Because 1440p and 4k will look better but as long as you don't think about it it doesn't really matter. Also if you like smaller screens 1080p is the way to go. Just throw in some DSR + DLSS when playing those smudgy TAA games and you're good to go.
Sometimes I'll run games at 4k on my 1080p monitor for screenshots and occasional novelty. It's great I can do this without spending a cent on another monitor.
It's not that I don't trust used cards because of crypto mining. It's that I'd rather kill myself than give my money directly to a Black person that farmed crypto.
What do you think the crypto Black person is going to buy with that money from the card he sold, diapers for his kids or food for the table? How much of a moron are you?
Ah it's obvious now, you are both a moron and a crypto Black person. Die from cancer alone in a room while no one will miss you. No more attention from me.

Still no reason to upgrade my 1080ti
My brother in Christ, I still have no reason to upgrade my 970.
This. Anything above 1360x765 and 30fps is a meme. I don't need to buy anything more modern than my PC I built back in 2010 to play good games. And no good games have been made after 2010. I'm not falling for israeli tricks.
>Do not give a FRICK about shitty AAA games that marketers shill here
Exactly my mindset.
I've got a pc and all the old consoles and games I want to collect.
Any new games I want are either switch games or smaller scale shit that runs like butter on my pc.
I bought a new one for cheap before the price hike and before all the miners started. I’m set for a long time and I don’t have to worry about having some worn out chink miner card that’s gonna last me 5 months.
I love it that half of the thread is one single man trying to persuade people to buy used cards and when they say they don't need them, calls them poorgays. Who could be hiding behind these posts? Makes one wonder, who would benefit from people buying used cards specifically?
Why would silicon and copper break due to use? Unless it's undergoing extreme repeated heat stress from being turned on and off I don't see how it could break. You could probably count on one hand the number of times that a mining card dips below 80% in its lifetime. They get thrown out because they can no longer keep up with the needed computing power versus electricity costs. I will happily buy a used miner card when I next upgrade.
>no excuse
Not caring is a good one. I have a 3080ti and i mostly use it to replay stuff that worked on well on gtx1060. I think the last demanding game I tried was dad of war, and honestly it kinda sucked. I'm not regretting buying 3080ti, but it was not an useful purchase.
Sure dawg, but many homosexuals still have old ass 60Hz 1080p and those look like shit.
I have 1440p 144Hz IPS side by side with my old 1080p 60Hz. Night and day.
I don’t care I emulate and play pc games from the 90s-2000s, some Amiga stuff too. For me a new game release is some new shit on cdromance or Gog. Unplugging from the new game rat race was the best thing I did.
>used market
The used market is nothing but a scam in my country, many people ask the same money they paid for something on release. Also I don't want someone else second hand clapped out slave mining parts.
Bought a PS5 and slotted in a 5600 to replace my 1600 for dirt cheap. Going to wait it out longer. Refuse to pay for these prices of these GPUs. Most modern AAA games are just trash that I can gamefly on PS5 for the 10 dollar a month plan and not have to think about them again.
>PS5 for the 10 dollar a month plan and not have to think about them again.
You will nothing and you will be happy
Good goy. Help us build a world of renting slaves.
I got a 1660ti on sale for 250ish bux back in 2019 and I still play everything on high/ultra, nvidia can suck my dick asking me for 700$ for 5-10% extra power
I'm not poor. But the only reason I'm not poor, is because I don't buy every dumb thing some gay shill shows me. Cook your own meals, pirate games, never tip and save your money.
but I have a 3080 and still play on 1080p @ 60fps. I'm comfortable with that and it means I don't have to go through the hassle of opening up my PC to upgrade as often.
Ehh if I spend more money I kinda want to buy a smaller handheld PC like the AyaNeo Air/new Loki or finally get a VR headset.
A new GPU would be nice, but most intensive games I play end up including DLSS to help me get by anyway.
>spend $400 to play games that look like this
No thanks I think I'll stick with games made before 2014 with the benefit of games not taking up 200gb per game.
The 10series will probably not get you to a full 120hz in some newer games at 1080p, but you can probably get one for under a hundred bucks so it still might be worth it.
maxed out isn't smart or always even good looking
3080 benches at like 119fps ultra and 4070 is 123fps at 1080
medium settings even an arc a770 or 2070 super can get framerates that high
My 2070 super is enough for everything at 1080p. Probably won't buy anything with current prices and only will upgrade if it dies. Definitely won't buy miner second hand trash.
it's a tiny bit cheaper yes, unfortunate that the sek is so unstable right now so i pay like 20% more than this

ah yeah, that wildly unreputable market that got filled with homosexuals who ran their parts into the ground, where you are gambling with no recourse if it just dies yeah sounds great
or, how about this genius idea gay, i just don't buy a new card at all, period. and i make do with what i have, playing at 1080 or lowering settings because its simply not worth throwing money in the trash for an overpriced card or a card that dies in a year. real easy
moron. Crypto GPUs are underclocked and ran at a constant temp. Exactly what you want in silicone. Its the constant shrinking and expanding from temperature changes that causes microfissures in the silicon thats the problem.
You can't be sure.
LHR are newer models, made to suck at mining but safeguard was cracked this reduces the risk, not all cards had LHR versions. If the seller can show you date of purchase and it's dated after crypto-crash you are safe.
So its a $400-$500 gamble then. Why even risk it when you can get a new 4070 for just above that price range? Even if you discount the reduced lifespan of mining cards as just a meme I'd rather not take the chance of giving that money to a miner for sloppy seconds
Consider this. >You have $1000 for a PC >4070 is $600, which leaves you with $400 for the rest of your system >Used 3080 is $400 so you can put decent box for the rest of the budget
50% extra for the same performance isn't that great. >For the same $400 you can buy 4060Ti which sucks balls
Granted 4070 is less power hungry, it has fake frame gen and 12GB of VRAM.
t. I mined on my 3060Ti when I didn't use my PC then sold it for more than I paid for it.
Many of these high end GPU owners are actually playing at sub 1080p via DLSS. DLSS Quality at 1440p is internally 960p, somehow Jensen Huang cucked gamers into believing that playing at lower resolutions was better just by labeling it "quality."
In five years, or so, all of that shit will be CPU-side and done completely in software. Which means we'll have a new bullshit meme to deal with. Probably full path-tracing. Or another physics meme. Real time clothes physics calculation. Needs a PTX 7090 64GB or you will get less than 60FPS and you don't want that, now do you?
my 1080 still runs everything on ultra.
though i am considering upgrading purely so i can pump out ai porn faster. i just have no idea how much of a performance leap it will be and if it is worth it.
I bought an RTX 2060 three years ago and don't see myself buying a new GPU for at least another five or six years. It plays new stuff at 1440p and 120fps (where available) very competently.
My 3080 10 GB runs every game just fine though? And yes, I HAVE played Raytraced 1440p Cyberpunk, Hogwarts Legacy, Elden Ring, and Wo Long on it. All games that low and mid end pcs struggle to run on Ultra settings at 1440p.
I can also make AI art on my 3080 just fine.
So I literally don't see why I'd need more VRAM.
Don't need an excuse to not waste money bro.
$400 is nothing unless you are some white trash Walmart dwelling hilly billy.
It's cheaper than a PS5 and you get double the performance

>Would rather get more framerate than more resolution, would probably never go beyond 1080p, and instead just pursue higher refresh rate in the future
Feels good to not consume AAA slop a majority of the time, things just work and I don't have to whine in reviews or steam forums about a game being unoptimized because I simply do not buy or play games if they are.
You are a gigantic homosexual moron for playing at 1080p and not 1440p with a 3090.
>Any issues of clarity can be fixed by downsampling to 1440p or above using nvidia DSR
If you don't understand why this is inherently moronic you are lost. There is ZERO discernable difference between any graphics card at a 3080 tier and above card when gaming at 1080p because of CPU bottlenecking and downsampling to 1440p instead of just playing it natively makes you a double moron.
Take your (You) for making me respond to your bait and frick off

What the frick is going on...
You need a good GPU when Todd's next god game comes out in september.
but I don't want my password leaked again 🙁
My GTX 1080 still running well so no thanks
Toaster gang.
Based.
1080 isn't a toaster card
You don't need to be ashamed. We're all friends here.
No seriously it's not. I have a 1060 and a 570, those are actual toaster cards. A 1080 can play games at 4k with reduced settings.
Arc A770 16gb. Does everything i need
awful linux drivers. somehow even worse than n****a
How's it for 1440p? Might just get a 4070 instead.
4070 is just 3080 without risk of pumping your electricity bill and burning down your house.
Found the br*t, my electric and gas bill only cost $75 last month.
That is some mighty fine copium you're huffing there old fruit.
Only reason I am considering a 4070 but the performance is so gimped for what it should have been it unironically has me thinking I should wait for the 5000 or go with AMD.
Until the 4070 super comes out it's still the one that makes the most sense to buy if you want an nvidia card and don't want to break the bank for 4090.
>10GB in 2023
Is it really? I bought one at launch doe $750 from evga. I guess 3 years is the shelf life for technology. I'm more impressed the nvme drive tanked. 4tb wd 850x were $150 each. 2TB Samsung 990 pro was $120.
I spend all my money on guns and ammo
I play vidya so rarely I still haven't gone through with an update
I like to build a new computer every 5-6 years but I genuinely agree with this. Rather spend money on the good stuff.
>Paying $400 for gpu which only worth of u wanna play modern aaa slop
Sorry chud my gtx1650 still able to run all "good" game perfectly
What good games?
Name one good game
Any emulated games
>Good game
STALKER
hitman
Dark souls3
Vtmb
List goes on.........
The only game i want on pc is bloodborne except for that i can play every "good" games
>ds3 tard
Figures
$400 for a 3080 means you're probably getting a shitty 10GB version
Works for me.
I rather spend money on something that will actually last
I'll upgrade when my GPU literally dies, it hasn't died so no upgrade
I already did in 2020, anon
why would i want a used gpu knowing what people do with those things?
>3080 for 1080p60fps
What game?
I have a 3090 and play at 1080p. It already looks good at that res, so what's the point of losing frames and having higher temps running at the meme res?
Because 1440p and 4k will look better but as long as you don't think about it it doesn't really matter. Also if you like smaller screens 1080p is the way to go. Just throw in some DSR + DLSS when playing those smudgy TAA games and you're good to go.
Sometimes I'll run games at 4k on my 1080p monitor for screenshots and occasional novelty. It's great I can do this without spending a cent on another monitor.
Plus I need my 240hz for fast paced games.
3090 seems like a waste at 1080p
I also work with Blender and VR
Why would I buy that when already have a 3070 and the only games I've been playing all year are fromsoft games?
My 780 still does everything I need it to do.
but i DELIBERATELY want to play at 1080p 60fps.
all the extra spare cash is funneled into hoarding retro games
I have a 5700XT for 1440p and I don't really play AAA shit. The only new game I need it to run is DD2.
Is the 6700XT gud for 60fps 1080p
It's overkill for 60/1080p
Might as well get a hiogh refresh 1440p monitor in that case.
the 6600 was created specifically for 1080p60... card you're looking at is for 1440p
It's good for 144fps 1080p
Lmao
I can play 1080p 60fps on my 2016 RX580 8GB
If anything, I will buy a 4060 Ti 16GB to use for Blender.
It's not that I don't trust used cards because of crypto mining. It's that I'd rather kill myself than give my money directly to a Black person that farmed crypto.
Enjoy giving your money to Nvidia.
What do you think the crypto Black person is going to buy with that money from the card he sold, diapers for his kids or food for the table? How much of a moron are you?
Enjoy giving your money to Nvidia.
Ah it's obvious now, you are both a moron and a crypto Black person. Die from cancer alone in a room while no one will miss you. No more attention from me.

Based pepe poster.
Thank you anons. Didn't expect my post to cause this much seething
Remember to have backups so you don't lose data.
>backups
I have 2 SSDs and 1 HDD, my most important files (memes that are over 10 years old) are backed up in both of the 1TB drives and one external. The probability of all of them dying on me is close to 0.
My brother in Christ, I still have no reason to upgrade my 970.
im poorgay trans btw
Now this is fricking embarrassing. Are you a third worlder? Can you not even pay for a used RTX 3060?
based
>Pepe poster is a 3rd worlder
Yes we already know, civilized people are talking here, frick off poorgay.
Ignore them, apubro. Being humble with what you have is a virtue.
This. Anything above 1360x765 and 30fps is a meme. I don't need to buy anything more modern than my PC I built back in 2010 to play good games. And no good games have been made after 2010. I'm not falling for israeli tricks.
frick that. you don't need more than 256×192 and a ZX Spectrum 48k
Ignore the homosexuals, this is the only frogpost I've seen in the past few months that isn't dumb.
This is the most pathetic post I've read on Ganker all week.
This is me, but instead of a laptop I have a 9 year old rig. The only way I'm gonna upgrade this pc is if this shitbox dies on me.
>Do not give a FRICK about shitty AAA games that marketers shill here
Exactly my mindset.
I've got a pc and all the old consoles and games I want to collect.
Any new games I want are either switch games or smaller scale shit that runs like butter on my pc.
>>Do not give a FRICK about shitty AAA games that marketers shill here
>I am impervious to israeli tricks.
too based for a frog poster
>used market
Works on my machine.
I bought a new one for cheap before the price hike and before all the miners started. I’m set for a long time and I don’t have to worry about having some worn out chink miner card that’s gonna last me 5 months.
Back in 2020 I had to buy some worn out chink miner card right before the 3080 first came out and mine still works. It's an rx580 btw.
$300 dollars too expensive
I love it that half of the thread is one single man trying to persuade people to buy used cards and when they say they don't need them, calls them poorgays. Who could be hiding behind these posts? Makes one wonder, who would benefit from people buying used cards specifically?
Nvidia shills
probably jensen himself who's shilling it. go back to wirk, jensen! do something about those crazy-ass fricking gpu prices!
I have a GTX 1650 Super 4GB, should I upgrade to an RTX 3060 12GB? How long would it last me?
At least upgrade to a 3060 ti.
>How long would it last me
5+ years unless you play at 1440p
>8gb
You're better off beta testing for intel
Still no reason to upgrade my 1080ti
video games are trash nowadays so who cares
The human eye cannot distinguish framerates above 24fps. Its scientifically proven.
>the used market
Laffin
>have to be a millionaire to play the latest games
grim
>no excuse
Not caring is a good one. I have a 3080ti and i mostly use it to replay stuff that worked on well on gtx1060. I think the last demanding game I tried was dad of war, and honestly it kinda sucked. I'm not regretting buying 3080ti, but it was not an useful purchase.
The only time 1080p looks bad is on youtube which heavily compresses video
Sure dawg, but many homosexuals still have old ass 60Hz 1080p and those look like shit.
I have 1440p 144Hz IPS side by side with my old 1080p 60Hz. Night and day.
I have dual 240hz 1080p
RTX 3080

lol no, there's no way I'm paying that much for last gen let alone one used.
Better than here. Cheapest one is $700
I have an i7-12700K and a 3060ti with a 1440p/144hz monitor. Would a 4080 be a decent upgrade that'll last me?
4080 isn't worth the price, if ya spending that much just get the 4090
only upgrade every 2 gens, not worth for u rn just wait
>buying buttcoiner's sloppy seconds
nah
You can keep your burned out mining cards.
I do 1080p with 144fps on far less and I'm cool with it.
Why does this board sound like one giant viral marketing campaign?
Because it fricking is
Some people paid $3,000 for a 3080 during ~~*covid-19*~~.
The good thing about the 3080 and the 3090 non ti is that they dont require those new housefire cables
>Used
No, I'm not buying the card you burnt out mining memecoins.
I'm fine with my 2060. The games I play aren't too intensive.
I still don't see the need to upgrade my 1080ti
I don’t care I emulate and play pc games from the 90s-2000s, some Amiga stuff too. For me a new game release is some new shit on cdromance or Gog. Unplugging from the new game rat race was the best thing I did.
I play 4K 60 on my 6600XT
>used market
The used market is nothing but a scam in my country, many people ask the same money they paid for something on release. Also I don't want someone else second hand clapped out slave mining parts.
3090 1080p chad reporting in
Bought a PS5 and slotted in a 5600 to replace my 1600 for dirt cheap.
Cook your own meals, pirate games, never tip and save your money.
>i5 3570k
>1050ti
Let me guess, you need more?
>have a 2080ti
Is there really any reason to upgrade if i can play everything on max already?
No thanks I bought a new 4090
I have a GTX 1650 Super 4GB and I want to upgrade, what GPU for under €400 should I get?
RX 6700xt, no contest.
No real gamer plays higher than 1080p. Stop trying to justify your 900w, burned cable, dlss, ray tracing meme 4090.
LoL Worlds - 1080p
Dota 2 TI - 1080p
CS:GO Major - 1080p
Overwatch - 1080p
Rocket League - 1080p
Valorant - 1080p
Fortnite - 1080p
No ESPORT, will ever run at anything above 1080p.
>real gamer
>ESPORT
Lol, chud you must be kidding me.
Still not buying a GPU
>in the used market
That's all the excuse I need. I'm not buying a fricking used GPU, frick off
WHAT TO PLAY homie
But I am poor, and I would have to replace all of my other parts too
but I have a 3080 and still play on 1080p @ 60fps.
I love how mentioning that you play at 1080p240hz gets the screetching autistic morons crawling out of the woodworks.
>NO WAY!!! YOU NOW GET TO PLAY GAMES FROM OVER A FRICKING DECADE AGO???!!!
Wow I'm so impressed anon.
It's not my fault you don't like video games.
I liked those games a decade ago.
Good for you. Now you hate video games. So sad.
most gpus can't do 1080p ultra at 60 fps the frick you think you'll suddenly be playing at 4k 120 hz
Ganker is an American website. In America we can buy GPUs newer than 8 years old, unlike your backwards shithole.
>used
i dont buy fried hardware
>spend $400 to play games that look like this
No thanks I think I'll stick with games made before 2014 with the benefit of games not taking up 200gb per game.
Yeah I’m poor, it checks out
Since I bought my 4070ti the games I've played are
>Melee(project slippi)
>Wild hearts
>PSOBB(level 167 humar)
>Xanadu Next
>Current playing MHfrontier for the first time
I'd say that was money well spent boys.
>Upgrade GPU
>Still play RPGM h-games.
Why there are no good AAA games.
If I want ultra maxed out 1080 120hz gaming what gpu should I get?
I want to get into pc gaming
Basically anything.
>1080
>2070/80
>3070/80
>4060/70ti
or the amd equivilents of those tiers.
Yeah fricking right. This shit is still like $600 minimum
New 4070 is cheaper than that, so I doubt used 3080 is $600.
nta but used 3080 is about 600-800€ here, a 4070 is 700-800€
Buy hardware from Nazis they have the lowest prices in EU.
sounds like a nightmare for support/rma and just general shopping experience
You can just buy through scamazon.de.
it's a tiny bit cheaper yes, unfortunate that the sek is so unstable right now so i pay like 20% more than this
one i think? but for that amount of money i still want to be able to have an easy experience
I'm cheap frick, saving around 30% is worth little wait.
it's not the waiting, it's the entire shipping back and forth for 1-2 weeks if you're unlucky. and in my case it's not even 30% if you include exchange rate, more like 30€ tops
How many GPUs you had to return in your life?
>rtx 3080 is 400 in the us
>but more than 1100€k for some reason in europe
t-thanks...
used, anon. got my 3090 in great condition for 500 euros 4 months ago.
OP said USED market
>the endless welfare state just pays for itself
I bought a brand new RX 6700 for 400 bucks.
Can run literally anything I want in 1080p 60fps and will probably can do that for the next 5-6 years.
GPU market is a fricking scam.
Unless you're 3D modelling, streaming, etc, there's no need to spend more than that for a GPU
Got a 6800XT for $500 open box last year so I'm good
might as well get a 3090 for 700
>buying a used GPU
really hope you morons aren't actually buying these.
Tell me what happened anon. Did it explode?
this. always buy new, goy.
LOL professionals miners shilling to sell their used garbage, I bet you guys have fricking thousands of GPUs to sell. get fricking rekt
You must give Jensen money
>buying crypto miners sloppy seconds
I got a legion slim 7i Gen7 with a rtx3070 🙂
>You have no excuse to be playing on 1080p
why do you care
im satisfied with what i have
>You have no excuse to be playing on 1080p 60fps
I like it that way
>Buying crypto burned gfx
Kys
Fricking have a nice day cryptoshitter. No one is buying your old shitty miner cards. Specially not a 3080 with its power spike issues
I'm playing 120+ fps on 2070S right now, but everything I'm interested in this year is fps locked to 60 - that is Street Fighter 6. Works fine, no reason to upgrade yet for me.
>morons sperging about playing the latest bugged to shit Bethesda title on day 1 with their $3000+ rigs
>tfw using my 1060 to play Dragon's Dogma at locked 60 fps at 1440p
I'm not buying your burnt to shit card to help recoup your losses, cryptotard
And the 6950xt and 69xt are 350aud and absolutely shit all over it and a 4080 and a 3090
Sold mine because it was too powerful and waiting for next gen 4k vr stuff was an excellent card but not much vidya worth running at
Might get a used 7900xtx cheap next year for sd vr ai shit
Got a 3090 Ti for 650 eurobucks from a 60 year old gamer. His room was full of all kinds of vidya related things.
Feels good not having to worry about vram.
What's the best bang for my buck while I'm still on a 1080p monitor? I currently have a 970.
used 3060 ti
Cheapest 4080s I can see are like $750 used, where are you finding these for $400m
>4080
You are looking at the wrong GPUs.
What I really want is a 4090 but the price jump is insane so I'm thinking of going with a 4080 for 144fps 1440p. Talk me into/out of it
Only good nV GPUs from 4xxx series are 4090 and 4070.
I would buy 4080 myself if it was 1000€ instead of 1300€ at launch.
t. AyyMD gay
yeah the price is definitely bad, but I've looked around and it seems like a good card. maybe it will drop in price soon.
Soon™ is relative.
nV can't keep up with demand for their ML enterprise solutions so I doubt they will care to lower the price, they will just make less consumer cards.
What price would be "good enough" for you?
bruh no the guy but every single gpu is like $200 over priced.
>$200 GPUs are overpriced by $200
Yea, makes sense.
>What price would be "good enough" for you?
honestly I don't know. I already feel like a battered woman going back to her abusive husband
3080 was a good card but effectively had a paper release
it wasn't (still isn't) worth supporting Black person scalpers and crypto dipshits
no games to play = not upgrading
Frick, that's where I'm at too.
my old gtx 1070 8 gb is fine tbh and all my homies struggle to get good fps in 4k with there 40 series card I think I got 1 more gpu generation b4 upgrade. I was gonna upgrade for elden ring but then my pc could run it lol
4k is a trap.
>literally went from 3060 single fan to
>3070 FE to
>3080 zotac trinity meme
>all run at 70 degrees celsius
I understand higher tdp and all but what a fricking meme
I like much better performance but frick me what a scam
Learn to UV, 30-40% lower power draw for 10% less performance is a good deal IMHO.
that's the thing I always undervolt/overclock
What is your maximum power draw?
It should be below 200W.
I never upgrade GPU if it's not at least twice as fast as the previous one.
well it's like 230 in pure rasterization games but in any ray traced scenarios it's pretty much 300
It's strange you have such high power draw in RT games. Does VRAM OC cause it or what?
memory oc barely has any impact on wattage
tbh now it seems like maybe something changed because it doesn't seem that bad in rtx
nvm just had to actually play it a bit
Still not the greatest result.
Does your card have higher stock TBP?
Can you just play with power limit in afterburner?
What happens if you set it to 80%?
80%
It's dropping the clocks hard so you just lost the silicon lottery.
But at the same time RT cores need the juice as well.
Does this happen only in control?
well control hits the hardest with that HDR+Ultrawide+DLSS+RT patch and it launches quickly that why I always test it with it
Cyberpunk with path tracing would be second but it doesn't seem that bad, at least while it run with my uv at 0.775
honestly it's just a bad card, it doesn't even run that quiet my 3070 fe was quieter
Zotac has reputation of being loud as frick.
But at the same time I would rather have my GPU hit higher temps but not turn into jet engine.
Even my old 3060Ti from GB was obnoxious with default fan curve. But after tuning it turned out ok.
I have opportunity to buy 3080ti strix but I have SF600 gold with only two 8pin power and I do have a splitter but idk if it's a good idea
For another 10-15% more performance?
I would skip that.
damn miners are now shilling their used condom gpus on Ganker. Still not buying
>used market
ah yeah, that wildly unreputable market that got filled with homosexuals who ran their parts into the ground, where you are gambling with no recourse if it just dies yeah sounds great
enjoy your overpriced toys i guess
>he fell for the burned to shit mining cards
my sides
or, how about this genius idea gay, i just don't buy a new card at all, period. and i make do with what i have, playing at 1080 or lowering settings because its simply not worth throwing money in the trash for an overpriced card or a card that dies in a year. real easy
I'm playing on a 24' screen so I don't give a shit about your shitty thread and will keep playing in 1080
How you just gonna round down all the way from $450?
I have a 400 wat PSU
I also watched that Linus video.
>used
I don't fancy having my GPU blow up on me.
>Used
AKA run to the ground with crypto farming then had a "Gently used" tag slapped on it
moron. Crypto GPUs are underclocked and ran at a constant temp. Exactly what you want in silicone. Its the constant shrinking and expanding from temperature changes that causes microfissures in the silicon thats the problem.
NTA. You still want to swap fans and thermal pads on those mining cards.
>BUY MY CARD PLS BUY IT PLS AAAAAHHHH CRYPTO STOCK FELL AGAIN NOOOO
I don't know how to buy used pc components without getting scammed
In my c**try buyer's protections is so stupidly strong it's more likely for buyer to scam the seller.
This. How do you avoid buying sloppy seconds from crypto cucks? Like
said, its not like they'll tell you it was used for mining
You can't be sure.
LHR are newer models, made to suck at mining but safeguard was cracked this reduces the risk, not all cards had LHR versions. If the seller can show you date of purchase and it's dated after crypto-crash you are safe.
So its a $400-$500 gamble then. Why even risk it when you can get a new 4070 for just above that price range? Even if you discount the reduced lifespan of mining cards as just a meme I'd rather not take the chance of giving that money to a miner for sloppy seconds
Consider this.
>You have $1000 for a PC
>4070 is $600, which leaves you with $400 for the rest of your system
>Used 3080 is $400 so you can put decent box for the rest of the budget
50% extra for the same performance isn't that great.
>For the same $400 you can buy 4060Ti which sucks balls
Granted 4070 is less power hungry, it has fake frame gen and 12GB of VRAM.
t. I mined on my 3060Ti when I didn't use my PC then sold it for more than I paid for it.
Many of these high end GPU owners are actually playing at sub 1080p via DLSS. DLSS Quality at 1440p is internally 960p, somehow Jensen Huang cucked gamers into believing that playing at lower resolutions was better just by labeling it "quality."
I have this PC and I will NEVER go above 1080p.
You'd have to be mentally ill to go above 1080p.
>Buy or i'll judge you
Judge me then
Anyone buying used crypto cards or cards at israeliteelry prices deserves to be scammed
I'm waiting until 2025 to upgrade my 2019 PC because 3nm cards + RT and A.I upscaling should be less of a meme by then.
Then I'll deal with that when those in term stop being a meme.
my 1080 still runs everything on ultra.
though i am considering upgrading purely so i can pump out ai porn faster. i just have no idea how much of a performance leap it will be and if it is worth it.
I am poor.
Please stop being poor, I beg you.
I bought an RTX 2060 three years ago and don't see myself buying a new GPU for at least another five or six years. It plays new stuff at 1440p and 120fps (where available) very competently.
(me)
btw I paid around $230 for this card back then and can't believe how much people are paying for graphics cards now
I got a 3070ti for £530 in 2021 (sold my vega 56 for 500)
I'm good for 1440p/60fps for a couple more years
>10gb vram
it's an obsolete card
My 3080 10 GB runs every game just fine though? And yes, I HAVE played Raytraced 1440p Cyberpunk, Hogwarts Legacy, Elden Ring, and Wo Long on it. All games that low and mid end pcs struggle to run on Ultra settings at 1440p.
I can also make AI art on my 3080 just fine.
So I literally don't see why I'd need more VRAM.
Starfield will run on my 1060 6gb with HDD
Have a 3070 and it meets my needs.
I would say though, I am tempted to get a 4090 since I do work in Blender.
im poor, thanks
>3080
You do realize the 4070Ti is out right? You're not poor right?!
Ill wait for the 5080 in late 2024
>buying odd number entries
NGMI
>buying any nvidia GPU that starts with a 4
Yeah I play 1200p 60fps
I'm playing Battlebit at 1440p 200+fps on my 1660ti why the hell would I need to buy another video card?
How old is that game, anon? You do know you're supposed to stop playing games after a certain amount of time, right?
>Battlebit
Isn't it literally a few weeks old
It went early access on Friday so that makes it 5 days old.
That means you have 9 years, 359 days, 23 hours, 59 minutes, and 59 seconds to enjoy it.
