here's some news about the Ruina: Fairy Tale of the Forgotten Ruins remake
the soulless chinese did it again
>no more "Ruina" in the title (frick you Library Of Ruina
>no more pixel art, everything's an illustration now
>you can see the enemies's hp bars
>the bosses have been buffed
>no more moving through the map with the grid system, now you have to slooowly move a cursor
>apparently there's a slow transition when you move through the menus
>and, most importantly, there was no TTEXP mechanic (but maybe because it was a demo)
moral of the story: go play the free version
>>no more pixel art, everything's an illustration now
people don't like pixel art in a commercial product
apart from that yeah looks like a botchjob
More like there's lack of pixel-art AI models.
You can downsample any art using AI to make it pixelated. It would look as good as modern mixels. The reality is its not worth the effort because pixel art doesn't sell.
If it were that simple, why doesn't AI just downsample it's own art then?
Why would it downsample it on its own if you don't tell it to downsample?
Because if you ask for pixel art and that's how you make pixel art apparently.
Wizardry > tranime bootlegs.
are people posting screenshots somewhere?
yeah, twitter

>article full of screenshots of the girls
>anon pays attention to paris instead
i kneel homobro
Cute!
They look 12
Raban is not impressed with your ill-informed commentary.
Looks based. Not everyone's a jaded boomer like you.
Nice, that's my cue to finally play the original.
I wonder if 枯草さん re-drew all the backgrounds himself, pulled out the originals he downsized to work in RM2k, or if the art was done by someone else. It's hard to tell because it doesn't seem consistent between backgrounds and other assets.

from what i've been seeing, it seems karekusa's participation was mostly approving things and writing some new stuff, and even then not all of them. some people have mentioned the awkward chinese -> japanese translation for some of the additional lines karekusa didn't write
>that face
Littlefinger? That you? A lotta loyalty for a hired jarpiggy. Plot twist: he was doing it for free.
>the bosses have been buffed
That one's a good thing though.
Why does a Chinese remake of Ruina even exist
The game is pretty popular with Chinese players anon.
So popular that the Chinese translation of Ruina has an entire extra route in it that supposedly ties up loose ends in the story.
The Chinese *fan translation* that is
>an entire extra route in it that supposedly ties up loose ends in the story
tell me more
what happens in it? did the original creator have anything to do with it or is it all just translator fanfic?
All I know about it is that it exists and the little else I said - my Chinese isn't good enough to attempt playing through it to see what it's all about.
the original had lame default rpgmaker 2000 combat, hopefully something was done about that. The new art looks pretty good
It would be nice if the companions were stronger and the player was weaker. Mid to late game the imbalanced mana economy is ridiculous.
I have moxed feeling about china. they're soulless bugs but somehow do impressive things so I don't know...
>frick you Library Of Ruina
Chinkazoids fear the Korean Bvll
>>and, most importantly, there was no TTEXP mechanic (but maybe because it was a demo)
soulless if true
the rest looks decent thoughever
according to someone on twitter who went to TGS, the demo is planned for a january/february 2024 release on steam.
no idea if they're planning on an english version of the demo, or the full game even. does the translator still lurk here?
>does the translator still lurk here?

I’m not involved in the remake either in a functional or advisory role (I don’t mean that in a bitter way). When it was first announced, articles were saying the game would be released in Japanese, Chinese, and English (no Korean seemed peculiar), but I don’t know what the sources might have been. As far as this latest coverage, I haven’t been scouring Twitter or whatever it’s called now for info, so your guess is as good (or better) than mine.
