I'm still convinced the people that cry about "rollslop" are actually just really shit at the game, and they're just pretending that it's "too easy" to try to circumvent claims they just need to "git gud".
>saved action rpgs from dieing and all becoming dmc hp sponge hell
and i will forever be grateful for that
The guy in pic needed 40 hours and being level 90 just to beat margit and like level 312 for malenia. These people with 0 reflexes sadly are common and most arent as dedicated or aware of it like him.
So is there just no good way to play the game in your eyes? For a first timer you're supposed to just know everything in a game that explains nothing?
I'm playing bloodborne for the first time and I'm like level 80 around the part you get to the castle with the massive spiders and the crow-dog hybrids. Granted I did get lost a few times and beat optional bosses.
NTA but 300 hours is an absurd amount of time for one playthrough of Elden Ring. My first playthrough was 110 and after knowing everything I can get through the game all side dungeons included in 70ish hours.
>skill issue git gud lmao
Dodging attacks with invincibility frames is lazy game design and the mechanic has spread to the entire genre like fricking cancer. People are saying you should actually be spacing and moving out of the way of attacks to dodge them and you're accusing them of being shitters. Do you think pressing the invincibility button is hard?
You really should try playing monster hunter, most rolls are for moving out of the way not iframing
The FAT roll in dark souls 3 has double the amount of iframes in monster hunter. Rise even lowers it, the fat roll on dark souls 3 has three times as many i frames
>Ruins action RPGs forever
Except no AAA is making souls-like who were making regular action RPGS. Bethesda just got lazy and since releases of the same game just continues to make them profit, they kept doing that for a decade+.
Bioware died due to huge mismanagement.
FF still makes games.
Ubisoft actually is the reason why action RPG is ruined. They made all the Ubisoft slop all over and everyone started copying those things in every single game. All action RPG is basically all AAA Openworld RPG games. You'll have every single open world RPG with Ubisoft slop all over it and copy that formula. non openworld will have Ubisoft slop UI design and level up system.
>Ubisoft actually is the reason why action RPG is ruined
Literally no one tries to copy Ubisoft style ARPGs. If anything Ubisoft blatantly copies other franchises. Their ARPGs are Witcher 3 clones but shittier. Their UI is basically Destiny UI. Also no one tries to copy Ubisoft style open worlds either. They try to copy BotW style empty wasteland design.
demon souls, dark souls 1 and 2 didn't, try harder and maybe we didn't start playing these games because we wanted them to be turned into this slop shit, if I wanted to play action games I would have played that but instead I liked this style because it was somewhere in the middle, but nah brah bosses go brrr for normie morons
Fans did. We could have devs focusing on exploration and applying great level design but morons kept memeing about "muh hard game" and "muh epic boss fights" so the worst parts of Dark Souls were the ones to define the genre.
>always play shield and 1 hander in DaS >do the same in DaS2 >enjoy it because none of the changes effect the playstyle
You may not get hit when you roll but I get one more souls game to enjoy than you do.
ehh it set a standard to measure other action rpgs against. gameplay trumps everything and no one has broken the formula to make a different gameplay structure feel as good as smashing the snakeman with my zweihander or crushing dudes with the big ass hammer from elden ring.
maybe game designers should just git gud and make a better game

I’m convinced that you have brain damage

People are never happy. Give them the opposite of rollslop and it's essentially turn based equipment preparation slop.
maybe you should uhhh git gud op
Wouldn't that be Monster Hunter, which started the rollslop genre?
rolls in monster hunter have much less I-frames than dark souls.
>superman dive
You need a running start for it, it's not on-demand.
>diving away with your weapon sheathed is rolling

Nothing good about ARPGs in the first place. If anything it salvaged it. Real collateral damage is action games themselves.
>by being THAT good
ds2 and sekiro were the only good ones

I know you're only saying this because DS is LE POPULAR but go frick yourself anyway. have a nice day contrarian moron.
Nah, that's dks3 the roll slop simulator. Then Elden Shit. Enjoy 23 million braindead morons defending input reading roflmao.
Monster hunter, ninja gaiden, nioh, and dmc all input read. Basically every action game imaginable does

Kwab, one of the first enemies in the entire series the blue eye knight input reads. His code is then reused in every single game in the series’s
No WebM or link? Seems like bs to me.
Bro it’s literally the classic “stands there with shield up, attacks right after you attack” it’s in every souls game.

What were ARPGs were popular before dark souls?
