Fairy didn't buff Poison. Poison is still a dogshit attacking type no one uses. Most of the time a Fairy type faints it's because it eats too many neutral hits or someone is packing a strong Steel type.
Dragon didn't need the nerf either. Nerfing Draco Meteor/Overheat/Leaf Storm to 130 was enough of a nerf.

There isn't a single good Pokemon game with Fairy type in it. Maybe Fairy isn't the reason for it being bad, but it's literally a 1 for 1 ratio of bad Pokemon games and Fairy type inclusion since the Fairy type was released. If you include all the bad Pokemon games from before Fairy type, like Hey You! Pikachu or Pokemon Dash, it's still like a 90% correlation between the bad games and the games that have Fairy type in them.

Nerfing Dragon and buffing Poison was neccessary. Nerfing Bug and buffing Steel was unforgivable, though.
They took away some of steels' resists in the same game.

Some of the best designs but also some of the absolute worst.
