They create random iwin buff in otherwise relatively skill based game and worst of all they are more likely given to the players that are already doing well.
Meaning that if the match is imbalanced, (which they are 90% of the time), it will become even more one sided.

Because crits balance the game in the macro sense. If you have an FPS where you can reliably calculate every single interaction you'll ever have then it immediately becomes less interesting. Crits keep things tense because you can't be certain that Medic you've cornered with his ubersaw drawn won't simply stuff your head up your ass. In an ideal game you want the player on their toes and enthused, which random crits can do for encounters, while crits also allow for sudden events that can sway the tide of a game (such as a crit rocket blowing up a few members of defense, creating a sudden opportunity to push.)
You can't reliably calculate every single interaction in TF2 because you always have imperfect information. You are assaulting a point, but you never know exactly how many defenders there are, where they are located, and so on. There could be a scout or soldier coming around a corner, there might be a sniper looking down that sightline, there might be nothing there.

Correct, but crits add onto this uncertainty. In another game you know the enemy team will have DPS, a tank or healer; you will know who's due to contribute to a fight, who is already there and everything they can do to you. In TF2 this is less obvious and you can't be certain they won't gain a sudden burst of skill and erase you.

When you die regularly, you feel sad about your skills.
When you die to a random crit, you just blame the gane for RNG even though you were likely going to be killed anyways. You being at 40 HP, you being at 92 HP where the Soldier is lined up to kill you, you were ambushed anyways, the player who got the crit likely would beat you in a DM and with the damage you took putting you at a disadvantage, etc. Even if you were gonna die anyways, you can now just blame RNG instead of yourself.
It’s actually a smart mechanic and has helped TF2 remain relevant. Figures an Engineer main wouldn’t be able to see why Random Crits are smart.
If you really think that shit players are ever going to get better and have fun playing around fishing for crits you're a deluded moron. Literally the most unrealistic thing in this thread is assuming every single person in TF2 who even slightly improved over the years plays exclusive Compgay servers.
Besides 100% crit servers, where crits are not random, I have been playing with random crits on with almost 2800 hours on my belt, and I can certainly say I gave improved a lot ever since I was a fresh install. I know plenty of people with lots of hours who have done the same as well. It’s absolutely absurd to say that a tiny ~7% chance to get a free kill (its actually way lower because you need to factor in when crits matter, if I’m using a shotgun at longer ranges for chip, when I miss, how its nearly impossible to get max crit chance, etc.) is gonna stunt people’s improvement progression. And you know, it’s only a ~7% chance when firing your weapon. Do you not learn to take flank routes? Do you not learn who you should prioritize when fighting? Do you not learn how to spy check? Do you not learn how to blast jump around the map? Do you not learn how valuable the highground becomes in a fight? Do you not learn where typical Sentry spots are?
Also keep in mind that it’s fricking ~93% of the time a player doesn’t get a random crit with guns, even if said gun can get random crits.

When I join a TF2 community server, the first thing I do is say "Black person Black person Black person" in chat to see if I get banned, if I don't then it's a good server
They should add like 1 extra heavy exclusive shotgun and then give him the option of equipping his secondary weapons in his primary slot so you can "officially" play shotgun only heavy.
This honestly sounds like the eaisest way of giving heavy a new official playstyle.

He's not even that hard. All he has is a high skill floor. Soldier with the direct hit or demo with the quickie bomb launcher is WAY harder than Sniper.

A good scout can counter a demo. Le epic shoot at feet man? It's hard to dodge rockets and land perfect meatshots when all he has to do is shoot the ground anywhere near you to score like 80 splash on a character with low HP. And with solly's 200 hp, near-unlimited mobility, a shotgun, and the best weapon upgrades in the game, it's almost pointless to engage without support. I just do chip damage and wait for the soldier to reload, hoping I can bait him into firing and missing.
It shouldn't have to be a game of 5D chess to win against the average soldier but soldier mains are VERY GOOD and don't forget how good they are by playing the most broken class in the game
Scout can easily destroy a Soldier outside of any range the soldier can splash him in. The only challenge comes from Scout needing to be close-ish to a Medic to kill him, which leads to shooting the feet as you describe. Also shotgun can kill Scout if he tries to frick around.

The reason there's no point in running shotgun is because it competes with two sustain items. Being able to hand your medic 75 HP in a pinch is game changing
And even if you were playing solo, being able to heal 200 HP every 10 seconds makes you an excellent roamer paired with the Tomislav. There's just such strong alternatives to the shotgun that it gets overshadowed.

It plays too differently from normal TF2, I wouldn't recomend it to anyone.
Specifically that last one, I struggle to find the rationale for removing an entire core item from the game. Even if you were to use the excuse that on-demand crits are too impactful it doesn't really hold up when stuff like the frontier justice are still allowed to exist with even less risk.
Vaccinator is the only item in the game that makes me look down upon someone for using it. Its the ultimate anti-fun item.
Scorch Shot is fine because you cant successfully combo with it vs the other flareguns and its only reason to exist to to harass snipers and snipers are homosexuals.
Diamondback is a moronic design and awarding someone with crits for just doing their job makes no sense but Spy fricking sucks anyways so who cares.
Both are good items with clear downsides and options to counterplay so no real issue. Scorch shot is good st long range spam but it doesn't have good DPS like all flare guns so if you're right next to someone they can't just blast you with a shotgun, they're forced to swap to flamethrower.
Diamondback is real bad without crits so you can take advantage of spies who don't have crits. Also most people have shit aim, so if you're at a distance a diamondback spy will be less likely to waste crits unless they think they can hit you, giving you an edge

Vacc is really dumb but fortunately it's only soul crushing when against a competent medic. If someone isn't good at hotswapping resistances, you can get two people on your team to work together and destroy him. Plus it loses to regular uber, or kritz if you just ignore the vacc guy and go murder the rest of the team. But I guess the biggest and easiest thing to say would be that the vacc is weak to wrangler sentries for the most part since there's no true invuln like uber, hell stacking multiple engineers makes it even worse for the vacc

Because crits balance the game in the macro sense. If you have an FPS where you can reliably calculate every single interaction you'll ever have then it immediately becomes less interesting. Crits keep things tense because you can't be certain that Medic you've cornered with his ubersaw drawn won't simply stuff your head up your ass. In an ideal game you want the player on their toes and enthused, which random crits can do for encounters, while crits also allow for sudden events that can sway the tide of a game (such as a crit rocket blowing up a few members of defense, creating a sudden opportunity to push.)
You can't reliably calculate every single interaction in TF2 because you always have imperfect information. You are assaulting a point, but you never know exactly how many defenders there are, where they are located, and so on. There could be a scout or soldier coming around a corner, there might be a sniper looking down that sightline, there might be nothing there.
Correct, but crits add onto this uncertainty. In another game you know the enemy team will have DPS, a tank or healer; you will know who's due to contribute to a fight, who is already there and everything they can do to you. In TF2 this is less obvious and you can't be certain they won't gain a sudden burst of skill and erase you.

When you die regularly, you feel sad about your skills.
When you die to a random crit, you just blame the gane for RNG even though you were likely going to be killed anyways. You being at 40 HP, you being at 92 HP where the Soldier is lined up to kill you, you were ambushed anyways, the player who got the crit likely would beat you in a DM and with the damage you took putting you at a disadvantage, etc. Even if you were gonna die anyways, you can now just blame RNG instead of yourself.
It’s actually a smart mechanic and has helped TF2 remain relevant. Figures an Engineer main wouldn’t be able to see why Random Crits are smart.

Besides 100% crit servers, where crits are not random, I have been playing with random crits on with almost 2800 hours on my belt, and I can certainly say I gave improved a lot ever since I was a fresh install. I know plenty of people with lots of hours who have done the same as well. It’s absolutely absurd to say that a tiny ~7% chance to get a free kill (its actually way lower because you need to factor in when crits matter, if I’m using a shotgun at longer ranges for chip, when I miss, how its nearly impossible to get max crit chance, etc.) is gonna stunt people’s improvement progression. And you know, it’s only a ~7% chance when firing your weapon. Do you not learn to take flank routes? Do you not learn who you should prioritize when fighting? Do you not learn how to spy check? Do you not learn how to blast jump around the map? Do you not learn how valuable the highground becomes in a fight? Do you not learn where typical Sentry spots are?
Also keep in mind that it’s fricking ~93% of the time a player doesn’t get a random crit with guns, even if said gun can get random crits.

A good scout can counter a demo. Le epic shoot at feet man? It's hard to dodge rockets and land perfect meatshots when all he has to do is shoot the ground anywhere near you to score like 80 splash on a character with low HP. And with solly's 200 hp, near-unlimited mobility, a shotgun, and the best weapon upgrades in the game, it's almost pointless to engage without support. I just do chip damage and wait for the soldier to reload, hoping I can bait him into firing and missing.
It shouldn't have to be a game of 5D chess to win against the average soldier but soldier mains are VERY GOOD and don't forget how good they are by playing the most broken class in the game
Scout can easily destroy a Soldier outside of any range the soldier can splash him in. The only challenge comes from Scout needing to be close-ish to a Medic to kill him, which leads to shooting the feet as you describe. Also shotgun can kill Scout if he tries to frick around.

The reason there's no point in running shotgun is because it competes with two sustain items. Being able to hand your medic 75 HP in a pinch is game changing
And even if you were playing solo, being able to heal 200 HP every 10 seconds makes you an excellent roamer paired with the Tomislav. There's just such strong alternatives to the shotgun that it gets overshadowed.

uncletopia servers are unplayable since they're filled with 50,000 hour sniper mains and you cant just unnest them with random crockets.

It plays too differently from normal TF2, I wouldn't recomend it to anyone.
Specifically that last one, I struggle to find the rationale for removing an entire core item from the game. Even if you were to use the excuse that on-demand crits are too impactful it doesn't really hold up when stuff like the frontier justice are still allowed to exist with even less risk.

Vaccinator is the only item in the game that makes me look down upon someone for using it. Its the ultimate anti-fun item.
Scorch Shot is fine because you cant successfully combo with it vs the other flareguns and its only reason to exist to to harass snipers and snipers are homosexuals.
Diamondback is a moronic design and awarding someone with crits for just doing their job makes no sense but Spy fricking sucks anyways so who cares.

Both are good items with clear downsides and options to counterplay so no real issue. Scorch shot is good st long range spam but it doesn't have good DPS like all flare guns so if you're right next to someone they can't just blast you with a shotgun, they're forced to swap to flamethrower.
Diamondback is real bad without crits so you can take advantage of spies who don't have crits. Also most people have shit aim, so if you're at a distance a diamondback spy will be less likely to waste crits unless they think they can hit you, giving you an edge
Vacc is really dumb but fortunately it's only soul crushing when against a competent medic. If someone isn't good at hotswapping resistances, you can get two people on your team to work together and destroy him. Plus it loses to regular uber, or kritz if you just ignore the vacc guy and go murder the rest of the team. But I guess the biggest and easiest thing to say would be that the vacc is weak to wrangler sentries for the most part since there's no true invuln like uber, hell stacking multiple engineers makes it even worse for the vacc
