Yoshi's Story still had amazing atmosphere and a great visual style. Its biggest downfall was making the game piss easy if you played it normally and way too tedious if you actually tried to do a melon run, with no point of playing it anywhere in between.
I knew nothing about this game and I (9) was trying to convince my 7 year old little brother to ask for Smash Bros for his birthday and in trying to make it sound as unappealing as possible I tried to make up the lamest thing I could think of and told him all you do is go around and eat fruit. I was blown away when he actually got the game and I wasn’t wrong.
I remember renting it when it came and being dumbfounded on how short and easy it was. I was expecting something on par with Island but Story was just terrible in comparison on almost all counts (and whoever decided to control a sidescroller with an analog stick needed shot).
got this when I was 9 years old for my birthday. Beat it in a little over an hour. Got scolded for wasting my mom's money when I rushed to tell her
I wanted yoshi's island on SNES, but it was so expensive (some snes games here were like 100 bucks, this was one of them)
Apologize.
what his eggs smell like
>yoshi's story ruined his desigb
WRONG
mario kart 64 ruined his design.
Yoshi's Story is actually pretty fun.

Yeah, the biggest weakness of Yoshi's Story is how short and easy it is. The graphics, music and gameplay are all incredible though.
do lucky fruits
>its biggest downfall was not licking my ass
?
none of the games since have been anything like story though
Wooly World and Crafted continue the "arts and crafts graphics with simple gameplay" format of Story.
i get a hard on from the thought of having yoshis trapped in a tiny dungeon getting tortured
No it didn't.
Yoshi was never good.
If you like yoshi you're either gay or a Black person
all yoshi games are gay and babyish, yes even the one boomers like
Black person is a video game
proof?

I like this one better though. I tried playing the SNES version and it lacks the charm of fruit collecting this one has.

It's not short if you go through the main story over and over again unlocking all the stages like you're supposed to.
ha ha

yoshi feets
>*will never be topped by any 2D or 3D platformer*
I actually think Wooly World is the better game. It plays a lot better.
>waaah why didn't they just release the same thing
nah it was fun and full of soul, keep crying over it for the next 20 years
did not happen
What is happening to that blue Yoshi
yoshi is KING
I want to smell them
Not as good as YI but still enjoyable, and the series got much worse than YS.
