They just announced a new combat skill and I saw no threads about it. Does Ganker no longer give a shit about RuneScape

aint no one play any other RS than OSRS
>implying i will give jagex any more money after they falsely banned me with no way to appeal
>no customer support
>shit anti-cheat system
>jmods that only care about getting positive attention from reddit
dc
So whats the difference between that and summoning?
It's a standalone combat skill like Magic. Summoning is a support combat skill like Prayer.
They finally have a new skill that actually sounds cool in concept but I'm sure they're still going to find a way to completely frick it up.
>inb4 necromancy charms
I played a lot more OSRS during Covid when I was sitting around with nothing else to do but yeah I honestly don't give a shit anymore.
OSRS is literally RS3 but with retro graphics now, its no longer oldschool.
lol if that were the case there would be more people playing rs3
hes right. "os"rs is made with the same design philosophy as rs3. its the same at this point. they need an os osrs
but it's not though, even if osrs isn't actually 07scape anymore it's still way better than rs3
As someone who plays both I have been watching them slowly implement all the shit from RS3 into OSRS, its so bad that they even got bullied into making that cheat plugin Runelite into being 'legal' now because of all the players threatening to quit, what's funny is how the OSRS players try to act like tough shit when they all religiously use and depend on Runelite and all the other 'QoL' improvements that were originally from RS3.
Frick off back to albion Hispanic moron, it's shitheads like you that are the reason we didn't get warding
Warding was half baked, and so was artisan. Sailing has always been the best ckncept for a new skill.
sailing's pitch reminds me of those kickstarter "do anything" MMOs
it's going to be the biggest disappointment in RS history
There's no reason for sailing to be a fricking skill, it should've just been a minigame or something. For fricks sake it was never meant to be anything other than a April Fools joke.
huh? im playing OSRS, people actually play RS3? lol
just started playing osrs a week ago.
played free until i killed elvarg. bought membership. No idea where to start.
why are the skill guides all in the context of having unlimited resources and having completed basicly every other skill and quest in the game this shit doesnt help me.
Do things like Waterfall quest for ez combat exp, then work towards completing Recipe for Disaster and get Barrows gloves
What would you like to know, I can give you some tips.
Personally I really enjoy quests and my main goal was always the quest cape, now that I have it I have been focusing on just learning bosses and getting gear on the ironman. If you have a normal account I would still advice to use the grand exchange as little as possible, it really sucks the fun out of the game by turning every drop and activity to just gp/h metric.
What's the best way to make money as a noob
Post you stats. If you have absolutely nothing, go buy 3gp shovels from the farm shop in catherby, note them using the tool leprechaun and sell them in GE for a minimum 150gp profit / shovel.
I was thinking about getting a cape in def but it seems like you kind of need to get all the combat levels up together or it will take much much longer. prayer looks cool too but you need to be strong to get the good bones and kill whatever enemies grant the prayer xp. lots of gear is behind quests. many of which have level reqs.
its alot to take in. trying to figure out a reasonable path to those goals. ill probably just level my att str and def to 60 and then reevaluating. I spent most of my leveling recently just killing hill giants and running the big bones over to the chaos alter one inventory at a time. got pk'd a few times. I wonder how disappointed my killers were when they saw 7 big bones drop.
What you are doing sounds good to me, I recommend aiming for these three early game goals:
>Unlock ardougne cape 1 by completing ardougne easy diary
>Unlock fairy rings by completing the quest fairy tale 1 and starting fairy tale 2
>unlock karambwans by completing tai bwo wannai trio quest to get access to a super cheap, decent heals and easy to get food source
Ardy cape and diary rings are best early game unlocks, good luck bwana.
First thing's first: FRICK efficiency. Just play the game, do what you want, and have some goddamn fun with it first. Just pick something to do and do it. Don't worry about getting to the high levels as quickly as possible. Experience the game first. Then grind out all the shit you need once you've experienced everything you can.
Here's a couple of things you can do that are fun and worthwhile
>Training slayer
>play minigames, specifically ones with useful rewards like Pest Control or Wintertodt. Just play a bunch and find ones you enjoy
>Training agility (not exactly fun, but very very useful to do in the early game)
I hope this gives you some ideas
getting 99 def would take like 200 hours lol. probably should start your goals a lot lower. iirc the xp required from 1 to 73 is the same as 98 to 99
prayer is one of the most expensive skills in the game. the vast majority of the playerbase never bothers leveling it above 77 for the highest prayer, or 85 for an achievement diary. getting the 3 protection prayers is a massive unlock for your account, so go for 43 prayer
you should go for 65 attack and strength so you can get a dragon defender, very powerful offhand item
theres a bunch of quests you can do with 0 requirements that award a ton of exp. like doing tourist trap can boost you straight to 28 agility. check out https://oldschool.runescape.wiki/w/Optimal_quest_guide you dont need to follow it religiously, but itll show you what some good early quests are
work on finishing all the quest that gets you barrow gloves, start bone voyage quest as fast as you can so you can do your birdhouse runs, at least thats what you do as an ironman
Dont care. Still going to use range at every boss
cool, but it's pozzed
Runescape peaked in 2012
Runescape autist who beat all the quests on both versions ask me anything
what's the best quest?
not that anon but the answer is Sheep Herder
The plague in that one city was fun but thats like 6 quests
Gertrude's Cat.
Monkey Madness 2 (i just beat it and am really proud of myself)
Shit thats a tricky one. For RS3 it's probably While Guthix sleeps, a great way of tying all the previously disconnected quests into a huge fricking epic of a story with Ritual of the mahjarret being a great conclusion.
Chosen commander is also a fantastic finale to the QT Zanik quests
For OSRS it's dragon slayer 2 post reboot or Monkey madness pre. DS2 feels like the finale for runescape in a way, it's so climatic but Monkey madness is also just a fricking hilarious concept that the monkeys are an militarised fricking death squad with poison weapons and ninjas
>While Guthix sleeps
>Ritual of the mahjarret
those are also my favourite rs3 quests I still remember them fondly when I did them back it the day along with the chaos dwarf and the void stares back
>Does Ganker no longer give a shit about RuneScape
Correct
>it's a combat skill and an afk production skill and a grandmaster questline and an endgame boss and a skilling hub and EOC2
they're trying to please everyone and it's going to backfire hard
Honestly Archaeology was probably the most fun I've had in RuneScape 3 ever (counting RuneScape 3 as post EOC), even more fun than invention.
The way they made the quest so full and with so many goals and so many objectives and so many rewards, it just ticked every box for me. And they say they are applying a ton of stuff from there into Necromancy. So honestly im really hyped here. I probably would have prefered an elite skill like invention, but eh whatever a new combat style is also huge
a long time ago, on the runescape forums, i made a thread called "The official necromancy thread". It got locked for having the word "official" in it, but it was another magic spellbook focused on curses, disables, special damage types and of course summoning things (This was waaaay before RS3, so maybe like, 2005?)
I had stuff like gloom spell (gloom strike/bolt/etc) and a bunch of thought put into it. I probably spent days working on it and then it just got locked and I got a forum warning.
Hurt a little bit.
Aww lil timmy
frick timmy gon do
I am sad that rant section never got properly archived, it probably was the funniest part of runescape forums I've had many laughs reading people's fictional stories and complains from and about pkers or other players
I remember reading "Diary of a Noob" and a bunch of other shitty little stories people would make. Complaining about the "page 51 monster" that ate every unbumped thread.
Good times then
I think they later removed the rant section because people would post ASCII of dicks and certain swear words
Damn. I guess that's easier than actually moderating it. Lazy bastards.
>ASCII art
I used to love spamming those back in the day. Mods were working overtime one day to keep all of it off the first three pages.
jagex should've made a back up of the game every year from 2007 until EoC because I want to play 2011-2012 version of the game really bad and private servers just suck
They retroactively pozzed osrs. Jagex can burn.
