[Sad News] Silent Hill 2 Remake delayed to 2025

>Silent Hill 2 is likely one of the most anticipated remakes in history, with millions of players around the world waiting for any scrap of info or screenshot of the upcoming survival horror masterpiece. However, as remote workers struggle with an unwanted return-to-office mandate from Konami and Bloober Team, Kotaku has learned from sources with knowledge of the game’s development process that Silent Hill 2 could miss its 2024 release window and slip into 2025.

>As for why some believed this was the case, it seems this information was out-of-date and a symptom of Konami’s tightening security and communication within the company. I’m told not everyone is always on the same page or kept up to date across the various departments and teams. Personally, I can confirm it’s become harder to nail down details since the leaks.

>However, the majority of sources were certain that late 2024 is no longer possible. Instead, the target is firmly “Fall 2025” and while most seem confident of hitting that date, I’m still told there is a possibility of a delay, as previously reported.

        >ike wear some gloves
Gloves usually are less sanitary than using clean hands as the gloves you would use to handle food can end up touching raw meat and cross contaminating all your shit unless you're changing out your gloves every time you touch meat.

I don't like Indian food at all, but firstly
        >wear some gloves
Nobody wears gloves in food prep. They have sinks. They wash their hands, because gloves would be constantly switched out to prevent cross contamination and can't be washed/wiped off the same way your hands can.
Secondly, if you're living in North America and eat anything other than your local Michelin Star restaurant, your food was likely made in close proximity to various bugs, rats, or fecal matter, in addition to likely being cooked from frozen in some capacity.
Thirdly, if you're living pretty much anywhere that isn't parts of Western Europe or Italy, your food was made in even worse conditions, close to on par if not worse than the video.

I worked as a linecook at several nice-ish US restaurants and everyone virtually never wore gloves. Usually popped one on to throw a chx breast on the grill, but hey sometime dinner rush gets nuts and you try to just use the tips of your fingers and wipe em on whatever towel is nearby before plating another diner's steak

Indians do not eat food for the purpose of digestion, it is simply fuel for the lubrication of streets. With feces.

also in case you don't know, they managed to botch both SH2 and SH3. SH2 has visual glitches and so does 3, but 3 also runs like 1/3 slower than it does on the PS2

I'm well aware, though as far as I've heard that came mostly out of Konami having not had the full source code and set of assets for both games on hand and the team having to piece it back together themselves.

        I mean, he's not wrong.
Silent Hill 1's key staff never worked on any other SH games in a major capacity and you can see that when you compare the games.
2, 3, and 4 are far more about psychological themes relating to the player character as well as the antagonist, with more textually overt stories and far more blunt imagery than 1 ever had. 2 and 3 had also drifted away from a lot of the "Japanese"ness of 1 (though 4 returned to it, moreso to prod at an audience that might be interested in that specifically).
SH after that point was also far closer to 2 than it was to 1. I'd argue there isn't a single other SH game in the series like 1.

moron take. SH3 was a direct sequel to SH1. The reason the game is so focused on Heather is because she was a reincarnation of the girl from the first game and she was literally carrying a demon god in her belly. Of course it had to center a lot around her besides the fact she is the fricking protagonist. For Harry he wasn't even her biological father and he had no idea the girl he adopted was some reincarnation of a sacrificed girl. So it makes sense it wasn't centered exclusively around him. This doesn't mean that the team from 1 wouldn't have made games similar to the later games we saw. Team Silent did have at least a few important core people all the way into the fourth game before it was disbanded. The music guy though stayed for I think all of the games including that shitty handheld one.

The reason this series is in the trash heap it is in is thanks to western developers make absolutely no mistakes about that. Had it at least stayed in Japanese hands it wouldn't have gone to such shit like we have seen past 4.

            >moron take. SH3 was a direct sequel to SH1.
The real moron take is not getting what I meant.
It's about TONE and PRESENTATION. SH1 is a game that very much obscures a lot of its ideas so the player, on replays, will constantly find new understanding, it's about reconstructing a crime scene in regards to its presentation, a lot of characters say literal nonsense at you.
This changes come 2, as a number of key staff left or were less involved. 2 is a very blunt game, characters don't mince words unless it's to obscure harsh topics to remain tasteful (and even then, Angela is really damn blunt). 3 follows 2 in that respect, its presentation and tone are far more comparable to 2 (even ignoring both are games focused on the player character's "personal demons", unlike 1).
            > Team Silent did have at least a few important core people all the way into the fourth game before it was disbanded.
The only core guy that worked on all four games was Yamaoka. Every game essentially had a different core staff with some exceptions (namely Owaku and Ito being on both 2 and 3).
            >Had it at least stayed in Japanese hands it wouldn't have gone to such shit like we have seen past 4.
Short Message was developed entirely by a Japanese team, including several Konami legacy staff who worked on the original SH games. Shut up.

              >3 follows 2 in that respect, its presentation and tone are far more comparable to 2 (even ignoring both are games focused on the player character's "personal demons", unlike 1).
I think you are just confusing the fact that SH1 was the introduction to the series of SH and SH3 being closer to SH2 is simply because of a few things:
              1. It was rushed
              2. It was a PS2 game just like SH2

It really is as simple as that. Even then it still feels like a very obvious direct sequel to SH3 and feels much more in line with that game imo than SH2. Also not getting what you are saying about characters speaking nonsense to the player. That is only Dahlia and Kaufman since they are the villains of the game and don't want to let Harry in on any important shit. Lisa is a monster but she doesn't know she is until she finally does. Cybil has always been straight with Harry. I've played SH1 at least 5 different times. The western devs copied SH2 simply because they saw it had the most appreciation of the games online. Even today you got people making these analysis and retrospectives on the game that are more fairly recent uploads and not many years old.

Not that guy but there was never a definitive Team Silent. A lot of members kept leaving and joining between games. All of them were coming from Konami's KECET division throughout the years until higher-ups shut it down in the late 2000s and started chasing Western devs because of trends just like Capcom tbh

I’d argue the series identity was the mix of psychological horror plus the occult
