The fact that you don't control stuff on the gamepad anymore and using the touchscreen for stances is arguably a bit more difficult in handheld mode than when you had the gamepad and could look at your TV.
botw was a dual release, not a later port of an earlier wii u title. if botw were being released on the next nintendo console it would be a remaster, not just a port, which causes some confusion with the leaked naming convention.
an apt comparison would be if a new zelda game dual released at end of the switch lifecycle on both the switch and the new console at the same time.

Dolphin has nothing to do with the gamecube either. Codenames are just random words usually, no real meaning because any meaning might give away things you'd rather be secret. It's actually BotW and TotK stuck together into a single game. When you beat BotW, you will get the choice of continuing in the world as it is, or moving to "part two". This is the reason that they decided not to do DLC for TotK, as they knew any ideas they had for it would be needed to justify a repurchase of the games on the new console.
The TotK DLC wasn't truly scrapped - it was being held off to help justify a full-price rerelease on Switch 2 instead of just making an enhancement patch for the original version on Switch 2. Screencap my post.
They likely also ran into problems with trying to "expand" the game, as loading more assets probably caused the game to crash and rather than admit to the Switch having hit it's limit, they decided to keep quiet and rerelease the games for the next system.

I know you're too young and stuck-up to know about games that came out before the Switch, but there was a compilation released in the mid-90s (aka about 15 years before you were born) for a console called the Super Nintendo, which included the original 4 NES Super Mario Bros games. It was called Super Mario All-Stars (yep, that's where 3DAS' name came from!), and it remade all four games to the graphical and audio standards of the SNES rather than leaving them as their original NES versions. They didn't skip on any of the games, and in fact, they released a variant a year later that also included Super Mario World, which was the SNES' own flagship Super Mario game. It was a great deal with a charming presentation, and a catalog of games all remastered wonderfully.

I'm assuming the Switch 2 has taken so long psrtially due to Nintendo wanting to have a good first year library of games for it. I don't really care if there's a few ports or remakes sprinkled in, especially if it's backwards compatible with the original Switch library.
If said BC won't make the game run any better it does. Hell Sony even made PS5 versions of games like Ghost of Tsushima that ran at 60 PS4 version on PS5.

There is no fricking way they will make enhanced 4K 60 fps versions of TOTK and BOTW and bundle them both together for the price of 1 game. Zero fricking chance. That will never ever EVER happen.
That would just end up being the same game with less frame drops. A first party re-release will be fine tuned to make use of the increased performance of the system ideally.
I'd assume the only reason they do these ports is to let the internal Nintendo developers get a good handle on the increased specs of the new system and the port itself is just a product of the system's development. Nintendo is the exact type of company to do that kind of thing, but they're also the type of company to make weird business decisions and charge us for the re-release and not just provide a free upgrade to those who own BotW
Probably use it as some measure to show increased detail and higher distance rendering. TotK had slightly better distance renders but I know the actual world textures might have been adjusted for that.
Switch will be the best selling console of all time, and will outsell the PS2/DS. Switch 2 won't have the same success as the Switch, because no Covid. Switch 2 is not going to "flop" though, it'll probably outsell the PS4.

If you played BotW where the whole point of the game was a post apocalyptic world where nature has taken it back and you are traversing slowly over the world.
Well TotK just flips that on its head, you are zipping around the world going back and forth between areas, flying and driving all over the place, there are NPCs everywhere in the world, some fighting monsters, random NPCs out in the world. Its not heavily populated like a usual open world game but BotW there was pretty much nobody around apart from in towns, in TotK people are taking the world back.
Game showers you with weapons, arrows and there is shit to explore and find everywhere. The entire world is full up with stuff to find.
If you liked BotW you will love TotK

Personally I think TP is a bad game. Its not bad like SS is bad but it tries to copy the OoT formula but is padded down with annoying shit, like forcing you to be a wolf and do bug hunts.
WW is one of my favourite zelda games but specifically for the comfy sailing adventure, plus cell shaded art style is great, though it also has some annoying padding, forced stealth area at the beginning and a treasure hunt barrier for the story (I never minded it but most people hate it)
BotW is a great game, its slow though, its a slow paced game, well go at your own speed, is a huge world to get lost in. Its not like a normal zelda game its a physics and chemistry based sandbox instead.
Personally I would say play them all but if you could only choose one, play BotW I guess but remember it is a long game.

TP is an OoT retreading. Brown and bloom era visuals but fits with the game theming somewhat. Dungeons are great, world is pretty nice, story is great, gameplay is fun, best girl, but the game has fairly debilitating pacing issues that make progression a slog including the fact that the starting segments of the game take several hours before you get real freedom
BotW is hard to compare to others since it's basically a sandbox exploration game and not really story driven. Very fun but the world and things to do are a bit sparse and there's a bad combination of weapon durability+damage sponge enemies. A lot of people's opinions is that the starting area is the best part of the game so just go ahead and play to the end of the plateau and continue if you're liking it. Do not play on master mode.
tl;dr, WW coasts on style but coasts on it really well, TP has extremely good elements that make up the game but suffers from almost debilitating pacing issues, BotW is just a jump in and play arcade exploration game If you're interested in TP, it has a manga that's way better than it should be and is currently being storytimed on Ganker

The vast majority of people who played botw likely never played a zelda game before. Most modern zelda fans have only played botw and tok and maybe links awakening remake and skyward sword remaster.
The reason why people criticize Sony for remastering PS4 games is because there's not enough of a gap between the PS4 and PS5 to provide a meaningful benefit to the experience. The switch 2 is vastly stronger than the switch. Using DLSS they should be able to get 4k60. Add in some raytraced reflections and tweek some textures and that becomes a massive improvement that I think justifies itself. Now they should definitely have an upgrade fee instead of charging 70 dollars but they're just gonna charge 70 dollars.
Who says it's the launch title? Remember that Nintendo is the same company that made Twilight Princess HD when Wii U has backwards compatability and can play the Wii version. Also Mario and Luigi Bowser's Inside story had a 3ds remake despite being a ds game, that you can again, play via backwards compatability.
It can be a patch, like you use your switch cartridge or download from the eshop and you download the patch. Probably with high resolution textures and stuff like that.
If you want consistent releases in 2k/4k quality then you need games like this that take less effort to make as in between/filler titles. This is just the reality of an industry that chases the graphics high.

Dolphin has nothing to do with the gamecube either. Codenames are just random words usually, no real meaning because any meaning might give away things you'd rather be secret. The one exception to this was Revolution, but that's because it was used highly in marketing prior to the offical name announcement of Wii so it had to be punchy. Most codenames never leave the HQ by offical means.

The TotK DLC wasn't truly scrapped - it was being held off to help justify a full-price rerelease on Switch 2 instead of just making an enhancement patch for the original version on Switch 2. Screencap my post.
They likely also ran into problems with trying to "expand" the game, as loading more assets probably caused the game to crash and rather than admit to the Switch having hit it's limit, they decided to keep quiet and rerelease the games for the next system.

It was called Super Mario All-Stars (yep, that's where 3DAS' name came from!), and it remade all four games to the graphical and audio standards of the SNES rather than leaving them as their original NES versions. They didn't skip on any of the games, and in fact, they released a variant a year later that also included Super Mario World, which was the SNES' own flagship Super Mario game. It was a great deal with a charming presentation, and a catalog of games all remastered wonderfully.

Its not heavily populated like a usual open world game but BotW there was pretty much nobody around apart from in towns, in TotK people are taking the world back.
Game showers you with weapons, arrows and there is shit to explore and find everywhere. The entire world is full up with stuff to find.
If you liked BotW you will love TotK

Personally I think TP is a bad game. Its not bad like SS is bad but it tries to copy the OoT formula but is padded down with annoying shit, like forcing you to be a wolf and do bug hunts.
WW is one of my favourite zelda games but specifically for the comfy sailing adventure, plus cell shaded art style is great, though it also has some annoying padding, forced stealth area at the beginning and a treasure hunt barrier for the story (I never minded it but most people hate it)
BotW is a great game, its slow though, its a slow paced game, well go at your own speed, is a huge world to get lost in. Its not like a normal zelda game its a physics and chemistry based sandbox instead.
Personally I would say play them all but if you could only choose one, play BotW I guess but remember it is a long game.

WW is fun to replay but I guess only if like me you like the comfy sailing adventure. that being said the beginning is very tedious and takes a while to get into especially because of the forced stealth.

WW has a very unique style but if you're not enamored with the style the actual world and dungeons kinda suck. One of my least favorite zeldas
TP is an OoT retreading. Brown and bloom era visuals but fits with the game theming somewhat. Dungeons are great, world is pretty nice, story is great, gameplay is fun, best girl, but the game has fairly debilitating pacing issues that make progression a slog including the fact that the starting segments of the game take several hours before you get real freedom
BotW is hard to compare to others since it's basically a sandbox exploration game and not really story driven. Very fun but the world and things to do are a bit sparse and there's a bad combination of weapon durability+damage sponge enemies. A lot of people's opinions is that the starting area is the best part of the game so just go ahead and play to the end of the plateau and continue if you're liking it. Do not play on master mode.
tl;dr, WW coasts on style but coasts on it really well, TP has extremely good elements that make up the game but suffers from almost debilitating pacing issues, BotW is just a jump in and play arcade exploration game
If you're interested in TP, it has a manga that's way better than it should be and is currently being storytimed on Ganker

The vast majority of people who played botw likely never played a zelda game before. Most modern zelda fans have only played botw and tok and maybe links awakening remake and skyward sword remaster.

The reason why people criticize Sony for remastering PS4 games is because there's not enough of a gap between the PS4 and PS5 to provide a meaningful benefit to the experience. The switch 2 is vastly stronger than the switch. Using DLSS they should be able to get 4k60. Add in some raytraced reflections and tweek some textures and that becomes a massive improvement that I think justifies itself. Now they should definitely have an upgrade fee instead of charging 70 dollars but they're just gonna charge 70 dollars.

Who says it's the launch title? Remember that Nintendo is the same company that made Twilight Princess HD when Wii U has backwards compatability and can play the Wii version. Also Mario and Luigi Bowser's Inside story had a 3ds remake despite being a ds game, that you can again, play via backwards compatability.
To be fair Twilight Princess HD and BIS 3DS were released around the time the original versions were no longer sold in stores.

It can be a patch, like you use your switch cartridge or download from the eshop and you download the patch. Probably with high resolution textures and stuff like that.
