Nothing of value will be lost.
Sony and Xbox will be losing games if this goes through
And that's a good thing.
what games, where
As a PC gamer this would never effect me so.. go for it
Based. I will always support people fighting for better conditions
Then why do you actively fight against economic freedom and support government intervention and central banking.
have a nice day bootlicker
NTA but I agree with him and I don't support those things you listed. Now what?
>Activision
one game
>Blindlight LLC,
who?
>Disney Character Voices Inc.,
who?
>Electronic Arts Productions Inc.,
good
>Epic Games, Inc.,
good
>Formosa Interactive LLC,
who
>Insomniac Games Inc.,
good
>Take 2 Productions Inc.,
good
>VoiceWorks Productions Inc.,
who?
>WB Games Inc.
who
Dunno what the point would be. Most games don't really have very much voice acting and development times are so long they can do the recordings at any time.
>All this westoid crap
And we care because.....?
The only thing that will happen is that games will go back to using talent off the street like last time they tried this shit and the street talent was actually better than the supposed professionals because VA work is nothing but a nepotistic club
A lot worse could happen than losing access to overused voices, honestly
Tales games have caught fire before for using retired TV actors, children, 'soundalikes' who are just the voice actor under an alias, and newgrounds VAs, but they've always been fine dubs
>and newgrounds VAs
Now I wish that Stamper wasn't a strung out druggie so he could be an butthole mage in a JRPG.
Unions are cancerous labor cartels that benefit a tiny elite of union members at the expense of the working class and I'm tired of pretending they aren't.
>No Japanese developers
>No Ubisoft
>No console makers
Wow it's even more irrelevant than I thought
>no more Debra Wilson
things are looking up, boys
Meanwhile in the Indie side of vidiya
>No Sony
worthless. I want them to suffer after what they did to Japan Studio.
They're potentially gonna strike at Insomniac Games which is a Sony owned studio, let's hope this causes a ripple effect and people strike Naughty Dog and Guerrilla Games
Guerrilla Games
They're located in Europe. SAG has no power there.
The recent One Piece live action is based in South Africa and they're also SAG-AFTRA. I was told they have branches around the globe.
One Piece uses SAG because it was entirely funded by Netflix.
support video game voice actors union or else, Yongyea will voice all of the MCs in upcoming video games
>Companies outsource their work to Japan and Korea.
Nice strike bro.
Finally, a good strike
Nothing's gonna happen because video games don't rely on stars for either development or to sell units. Often times voice acting is the last thing added to these games so there won't be any disruptions in workflow.
>Nothing's gonna happen because video games don't rely on stars for either development or to sell units
Call of Duty
Cyberpunk
GTA
Death Stranding
Until Dawn
Beyond Two Souls
Arkham Asylum
Why are you listing games that already exist?
are you pretending to be moronic or do you genuinely not understand the point
>video games don't rely on stars for either development or to sell units
2k wouldn't sell if the players were John Bryant and Joe O'Neal.
Sport stars are not actors.
They're famous figures that draw in a particular niche crowd to buy their games even if they're not gamers in the nerdiest sense of the word
I don't think they give a shit about the actors strike.
Yeah, just disagreeing that video games don't rely on famous people to sell, because they do.
>Nothing's gonna happen because video games don't rely on stars for either development or to sell units
We have Hollywood actors in video games and they are a big selling point to normalgays.
>Activision
They already talk at 1 word per minute in wow cinematics what more do they want?
good
stay on strike forever
take all the other western media people with you
Considering most of these have studios in Canada/UK they can probably bypass strikes if things start to slow down too much
I hope it kills the ~~*woke*~~ video games industry as a whole
>people who make all there money doing voices
>Stop working and hope AI does not take over
This is comedy of the highest order
All one of these voce actors needs to do is license there voice to AI and just roll in the money from it.
Such an easy solution to do nothing and make money while still can.
Before AI is just doing it on its own.
>voice acting is now an procedurally generated gibberish
that's a win for me
Well it's a good thing I have a massive backlog thanks to all the games this year I still haven't gotten through. If no games at all come out next year I can manage.
Is this about the voice actors? I hope they don't bend down to these homosexuals, show them the middle finger like they deserve it.
Good, more companies need to use AI.
Not my problem, no good games there and striking is a good trend for society at large
They can shit on AI all they want, but what they really should blame is the Me Too movement, gamegate, and all that other leftist cancelling bullshit. AI cannot be canceled, which is the real reason why companies are using it.
I've had a very big argument with an artist friend about AI. He thinks that AI should never enter the entertainment industry, to which I said that humans just gotta be better. Then he says that the low level artists will lose their jobs, to which I said they lose their jobs to other humans even before AI was there. If anything, the advent of AI means that artists must up their game, and he got so mad that he said I didn't understand the plight of the movie industry. I said I did, it's why most movies nowadays have trash writing not just video games.
