What are some of the must play games of the 6th gen? Like the top ones you'd recommend anyone for each console to at least try or play once in their life.
I didn't really get into that gen at all, pretty much skipping from PS1 to PS3.

Ah frick, thanks for the post. I fricked up, I've played half of those on PC, was pretty big PC gamer at the time, should have added that console exclusives only. I'll still look into the exclusives though.

      WHICH Star Wars

He's probably referring the star wars Rogue leader on game cube. It was a launch title and good graphics showpiece for the console.

Most of the 6th gen star wars games are bretty gud:
        >Battlefront I & II
        >Republic Commando
        >KotOR I & II
        >Bounty Hunter
        >Lego Star Wars I & II (though I would play Complete Saga instead; it combines both games together, has more levels and actually has the RotS soundtrack)
        >Jedi Outcast
        >Jedi Academy
        >Rogue Squadron II & III

I have never played another console together with friends more than the GameCube. It was a great multiplayer console.

If you like PS1 I recommend starting with Dreamcast and GBA, they are probably the closest to the 32-bit era consoles (GBA itself actually being 32-bit, albeit mostly 2D games). In the case of Dreamcast it has arguably better versions of a lot of late cycle PS1 games, part of why I prefer it over a certain other console

PS2/Xbox/GCN is going to be up to you and what interests you. But as someone who really enjoys PS1 games and never really got into PS2 either I think you will like Dreamcast and GBA the most

Can't speak for the consoles I didn't own but for PS2 I think everyone should try these games at least once, while some had PC ports the PC version was nearly always inferior and in many cases missing levels and other parts altogether:

GTA 3, VC and SA obviously
Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3, can't decide which is better both are landmark pieces of gaming
Jak and Daxter (the first one)
Burnout 3 for some relentless arcade fun
    Resident evil 4 obvs
WWE Smackdown: Here comes the pain (if you ever liked wrestling as a kid or maybe even if you didn't).
    Okami
    Shadow of the Colossus.
    Silent Hill 2 + 3
    Gran Turismo 4
    Colin McRae rally 04
Prince of Persia Sands of Time
    Kingdom Hearts 1+2
    Sly Racoon 1+2
    Devil May Cry trilogy.
    ICO

I don't like RPG's so can't really comment on those though I know there are many that are very very highly rated such as Final Fantasy 10

Also I'm sure I'm forgetting many but this is a good place to start.

MGS2 over MGS3 any day, however you have to have played MGS1 in advance.

I find myself alternating between the two in regards to which I think is best:

MGS2 is more nostalgic for me, I love the modern, almost prophetic story and the refined perfected gameplay which expands on MGS1.

MGS3 has the awesome cold war theme to it, the structure is better and the story is more streamlined.

I do find myself leaning towards 2 being the superior game more than not though

Too many to count but I'll just put my favorite. Ninja gaiden black. It'll also never be rereleased on newer hardware unlike other games.

Oh those are all xbox. That's what i had back then. A few of those are unique recommendations.

Bloodwake, deaththrow, quantum redshift, Brute force and armed and dangerous fit into the unique category.

I'm currently playing Riddick escape from butchers bay. This isn't particularly unique but pretty fun. Oh yea.. gotta see doom 3. You probably want to go for PC for that.
