They've done some Panel de Pon in a couple live specials so far. None have been solely for that game. Absolute insanity each time. Probably will stay their go-to game when they want to fill live air.
Shame. it's a good game so it'd be cool if they just did the game as a proper challenge. however, since they keep coming back to it in live challenges it'll always be some live game. it's got a cool story and everything.
>Dragon's Egg - PCE CD >Wonder Boy 3: The Dragon's Trap (M3) >Castle of Dragon (FC) >Dragon Spirit (PCE) >Dragon Ball series (GBA or SFC) >Dungeons and Dragons series >Dragon Valor (PS)
That's all that I can think of and I'd be more or less happy with any of them. There's a few more DB fighters for the SFC, and Dragon Ball Advanced, and a few D&D games for FC, and two arcade belt scrolling games for saturn. Dragon Valor is the least likely, but it's a 3D action game for the PS, and a sequel to a previous FC they challenged.

Dragon's Egg is a 22-33 minute game - more of a demo than a full title. Arino will clear it in less than 6 hours making it barely a challenge. Though knowing him, he might luck out and beat it in less than an hour.
It'd be cool if they made a collection of the SNES games, since they seem to be the best. Online netplay, maybe a turbo mode. Maybe a third version of the fighting game that's balanced.
look. in the end theyre all good people. but the only guardian id actually be friends with is mercury. she was the one with the most common sense. and to me common sense is super attractive
Okay so I haven't played the game, but it looks decent but not great. It just looks slow from what I can tell. But it has interesting mechanics. Giving a charged range attack seems to help out a LOT in these kinds of games.
Watching this right now and so far Mercury > Jupiter > Moon >>>>>>> M*rs. Haven't gotten to the Sailor Venus reveal yet
Guess I may as well get into the Sailor Moon /vr/ any time, especially since they came out on consoles I already have emulators for as opposed to some lame niche console that takes 7 virtually mounted boot disks to get running
The SFC games made by Angel (Arc System Works) are the best. That's an arcade and 2 SFC belt scrollers (the arcade is separate and the SFC games aren't ports), two fighting games, and a puzzle game. The PCE-CD advneture game is pretty neat too. A few other untranslated PCE-CD games, and some other riff raff.
Mechanically for this game, I don't see a point in the area effect move that consumes your HP. It seems to be a panic move if you're cornered.
For two player, Venus seems to be the ideal support character. She has a whip meaning she can constantly bonk enemies to keep them from ganging up while the other player dishes out the main damage.
Apparently there was some early concept idea for Mercury that she wasn't actually human, but a cyborg like a terminator. Not gonna lie, I would watch a Sailor Moon anime where Mercury was a cyborg and kept it a secret from everyone she knew, but would terrorize the frick out of the bad guys when alone with inhuman strength. It would be like The Sarah Conner Chronicles, but with magical girls.
Originally Sailor Mercury in the manga was going to be revealed to be some robot sent to watch over Usagi. A lot of those ideas and concepts carried over, like her being the only one with a visor that reads out stuff (like the Terminator aka a robot) or having a little computer to do calculations on stuff
> Usagi / Moon = Likes playing video games and eating with you > Ami / Mercury = Smart / Doctor Money > Rei / Mars = Long hair and legs > Makoto / Jupiter = Big breasts and loves being a housewife and cook/clean (Also can fight) > Minako / Venus = Mars for people who like blonds and does not want a b***h
I've always been a Mercury guy but Jupiter kinda wins
Shocked Arino san has this lack of familliarity with Sailor Moon, given he's a big manga hound and it was around when he was much younger. Maybe he was out of manga by his 20's?
I figured most Japanese would at least be able to tell who Sailor Moon is even if it's just from the merchandise even if they can't tell you anything else about the series.
You don't even have to read Sailor Moon to know who Sailor Moon is. The point is Sailor Moon is so big it's hard not to come into contact with it if you're into any sort of comic or video game media at all.
A collection could be fantastic especially if it added netplay, and maybe a 3rd more balanced version of the fighting game. Why isn't this being released, especially given that Arc System Works made most of them?
>Arcade belt scroller >2 snes belt scrollers >snes puzzle game >Another story RPG >First snes fighting game >Second snes fighting game >PC Engine Adventure game >PC Engine mini-game game
Fun story about this game. Around 1996 I saw this game in the store but I didn't have a SFC so I didn't buy it. I also for some reason thought it was a PlayStation game, because of the era and how I didn't recognize the box shape. I had seen Sailor Moon season 1 on tv and loved the show.
My local game store was doing some imports at the time. In fact, I saw it when I bought my N64 and Mario 64. It was actually the Japanese version of Mario 64 but the game has so little dialogue it wasn't that impactful.
For the N64 there's only two bits of plastic blocking J-region games from working on NA region N64 consoles.
to think this exact game was the one who introduced me to emulation. way before even getting access to the internet, i was around 6th grade elementary back then...
oh yeah let's have a 4 mins section talking about what's unrelated to the game in the source material, which has no purpose whatsoever. People who don't care about the series won't care, people who care about the series already know this, people who are just getting into the series are getting spoilered.
Geez what a great way to spend 4 mins of screen time on a video game show. Even Arino is having a hard time making it look like he cares about all this despite him being an actor.
Shut the frick up b***h and let us watch the gameplay
Arino is unaware of the source material, and the audience at home might need a refresher course on the source material story as well. The game itself includes very little story sequences or explanations. Also it's cute to see Ogawa go all obsessive nerd with a white board.
>How the frick is this relevant to the game?! >Shut the frick up b***h and let us watch the gameplay
The show is about loving nostalgia for retro games. Ogawa makes no claims to being an elite gamer, but she played and really enjoyed this game a lot and this is her revelling in her nostalgia for Sailor Moon. As such, it's very much on par for the show. If they play a game for a manga series that Arino likes he might similarily do story explanations.
Ogawa likes Sailor Moon. Abe likes Resident Evil. Someone on the cast likes something.
This moron has literally never watched an episode of GCCX in his life. Holy shit, the autism. >I THOUGHT THIS WAS A HARDCORE GAMING CHANNEL LIKE MY YOUTUBE SPEEDRUNNER ECELEBS!?!?
They also beat the game in 6.5 hours, so it was not some super hard challenge. And that's WITH Ogawa playing 1 hour of catchup time for Arino-sama. So a short break on Sailor Moon Lore is perfectly acceptable.
Stop huffing your own farts, anon. No one cares you had a bad time.

Abe dressed up like Wesker, and gave behind the scenes information. He worked at the same production company that shot the live action segments at one point, and also attempted to steal the original firearm props. This kind of passion and nostalgia is encouraged on the show, not discouraged.

It's always interesting to see which groups are protective of their IPs because they don't let the staff shop Arino's face onto their characters when it became a recurring thing.

Those don't have the weird off stuff, like the 2008 and 2009 Holiday Specials, or all the new years eve Retrospectives (which later became 3 old dudes) that didn't get subbed, The Producer Kan Serial Murder Case episodes.
Or some of the live shows like the Live Special Compilation before 300th Episode, the 300th Episode 300 Minutes GCCX LIVE Special and Game Center CX mini Special. And the Quest of Ki torrent isn't being seeded.
I also lost my copy of the Nintendo Switch Experience 2017, with the parts where Arino appeared and the 2nd episode of Captain Tsubasa (Episode 142) has fallen off the face of the earth. (It's not in the raw torrent)
If I could get help recovering any of these, I'd appreciate it.

Anon I'm sorry you lost your files. But at the same time, your situation highlights a major problem that exists within the English GCCX fan base: our archival skills suck.
I hope you can get the files somehow. Try posting around the different communities and see if anyone has them. I'll check my external drive later and see if I have any. I know I have some of the live shows but I'm not sure if I have the ones you're looking for.

Jupiter seems easy enough to befriend too. I knew a few tall girls in HS and they're usually pretty friendly because people get intimidated by them
Only a girl or a gay would call a girl "cool" in the admiration sense.

Jupiter only being 5'6 despite the series pretending she's an Amazon kind of ruined her for me.

If you are somehow shorter than 5'6 than it's no wonder you are scared of most women let alone Jupiter

new ep tomorrow. Looks like they're hitting 2 PS2 or GC games a season. They're doing early games up to like 2002 mostly it seems. Pretty neat.

Apparently FTP might be working on FileZilla with these settings if anyone wants to test.
