BW is Masudas Magnum Opus moron, it was the first time Game Freak tried to fix the objective flaws with the series and carve an identity of its own instead of being KANTOOO's Backyard like Johto was in HGSS. But Genwunners were so spiteful and salty about not being constantly pandered to that they threw a tantrum and gaslit moronic Pokegays into hating Unova for stupid reasons.

they fix the speed and pokemon variety with the grand underground , but then gut most of the side activities and ignore almost all of platinum's fluff

because most people who actually played a Johto game aged out. and due to the lack of pandering, and not having a game for a decade and a half, the average Pokefan doesn't even know what a "johto" is, let alone anything about the games. Most Pokefans are ultra casuals so really easy who don't know anything about the games except the most recent ones and Kanto, not helping is that pokefans are weirdly stuck up thier own asses compared to most other fanbases so they're really easy to gaslight.
