You realize that with multitaps PS1 and Saturn had 4-12 player games, right? Compatible games included stuff like Bomberman, Quake II, Crash Team Racing, Street Racer, Guardian Heroes, and most sports titles

Too bad all the games on PS1 that utilize more than 2 players are treated as either after thoughts or are shit not very interesting beyond maybe Bomberman. No one ever brings up "great 4 player PS1 games".

People talk about that multi-dock or whatever the frick it was but I never got over to somebody else's house and saw one with the PS1. Nobody ever had that thing. The beauty of the N64 at the time was that you could have 4 people all playing at once, multiple different genres.
With the PS1 most people had like Tekken and nothing when it came to multiplayer.
i only saw it once with people playing crash racing and that game runs terrible on 4p, even compared to mk64's 4 player modes.
I bring up blast chamber once in a while.
Hogs of War, Worms, Bomberman x2, Devil Dice, Shipwreckers, Bishi Bashi Special. Im assuming Blast Chamber as well, but I didnt see it on there so either I missed it or im misremembering it having 4 players.
Those are literally the only games from those list worth playing. I mean I guess unless you like playing old sports games.
I'd say Crash Team Racing, Quake 2, NBA Jam, NFL Blitz, Twisted Metal 3 and 4, etc. are pretty significant 4 player games on PS1 and worth playing.
The point is PS1 and Saturn can both do 4 player and even more than that with multitaps.

Just because N64 fans like to bury their heads in the sand and pretend multitaps didn't exist doesn't make it true. I knew plenty of people with PS1 multitaps and I even had the Saturn multitap. They were cheaper than the cost of a controller and easily available.

Fighters Destiny is good though. Definitely more fun than Virtua Fighter. It has a lot of mechanics nobody ever copied like the score based round system.
