Getting real tired of this shit. Why does Sony, Microsoft, Capcom, SE (Lol) and PC never fricking dethrone these homosexuals at vidya conferences for once?
>because they don't really know what makes Directs so good to begin with.
Please enlighten us, Mr. Redditor, what is it exactly that makes Nintendo Directs so heckin' good?
>and don't waste time talking about the developers and they lives or random bullshit.
This is a big thing. I hate when I'm watching game trailers and some racially ambiguity bright haired mutt pops up to tell me how much she loves diversity. Nothing kills my enjoyment harder.
This. I fricking hate this meta bullshit. Imagine watching a trailer for movie you anticipate but instead of showing actual trailer, it's a cameraman telling you how his mom's boyfriend supported his hobby.
This. How many trailers has Sony shown for final fantasy xvi at this point? And each succesive one has made me want to buy the game less and less. Same thing happened with death loop and last of us 2.
Because Nintendo has a million games they are working on at a time. There's always a project or two they can provide info on whereas all these other companies stretch themselves stuff thin just for the sake of having a conference and not being left behind in the news cycle.
Sony and MS spent the better half of the last two decades completely ignoring their first party IPs while chasing tech dominance that's ultimately only relevant in the short term.
Now it's too late and they're forced to release everything as multiplats while Nintendo can just give a middle finger to people crying about ports, because they know they're big enough to survive without them.
>Mostly Japanese games are shown >Nobody is trying to show off graphical prowess on the Switch, so the games focus more on the gameplay >No mid show ads like Geoff does, everything is at a rapid pace >Has the power of multiple popular active IPs that will make people happy >Has the power of multiple dormant IPs that make people happy when revived >Indie games (mostly) don't show up because Nintendo has a separate show for them >Nintendo has a frickton of employees and studios so there's a good amount of content to show >Something gets shadowdropped >Nintendo Directs have more notoriety than every other event (now that E3 is kill) so you end up with a lot of high profile devs wanting to put their big game reveals on the show, even if Switch is the worst place to play it >Autism magnet that attracts the most dedicated people who will shill how good the event was for free >May god help us when Smash season rolls around >They usually end up having he best games
Xbox actually has the formula down pretty well, they just get hung up on showing off generic AAA shit sometimes. Everyone else either fricks up the formatting or just doesn't have enough shit to show to make their event worthwhile.
Cope. Nintendo had a good lineup in 2017 when they had to sell their hardware to not go bankrupt. Even since then it's just been 90% remasters and shovelware.
You know it's a shit year when Ubisoft put on the best showcase. I don't even plan on buying any of the games Ubisoft showed but at least they had release dates and gameplay.
nah, Iwata's death.
Reggie leaving was the final nail in the coffin.
They were corny, but I enjoyed the dumb skits and storylines they did. It had something human to it, especially with Iwata presenting the things for you.
Now they have handsome_japanese#32 present stuff in a professional but sterile way.
Nintendo directs market the games, sure, but the directs themselves arent as entertaining as they used to be.
The Direct begging dropped considerably after Smash at least.
What you are seeing is just the ass-end of the console's life cycle and post-COVID development slacking
>Wholesome Direct >Devolver Direct >Grasshopper Direct
Like I kind of get Suda using it, he's a massive tendie and Devolver is being ironic or whatever, but what other showcases are branded as Directs?
Only winning move is not to play.
Because you just know if they do a direct it will be full of shit other people have already announced like those purse owner games on the xbox show
>Senua's saga >Fable >Clockwork Revolution >Avowed >South of Midnight >MSFS24 >Kunitsu-gami >SW Outlaws >Payday 3 >Atlus
I get the gripe that most of those showed no release date or gameplay, but the show was stacked. Even if half of those turn out to be flops, it's still a super strong showcase
nah Nintendo is the only one that does these shows right. If it's not coming out in six months it's not relevant and shouldn't be shown. Only good game Xbox had was Starfield which I'm very excited to play
I agree, but at the same time, the marketing period for new and smaller franchises like the ones in this showcase is much more important compared to Nintendo's established IPs. If people don't know that the studios which you newly acquired are working on something, it can also hurt your brand, this is more of a problem for investors than it is for consumers and Nintendo does not have to worry about this, at least right now.
Literally 2 games out of those look interesting. How the frick is 20% "okay" looking games a super strong showcase ??
hopefully they follow capcom's example and start churning out new IPs again, they've completely stopped after 2019 (no that one shitty japan only visual novel doesn't count)
Capcom literally had the worst showcase, worse than both Sony and Ubisoft. Even worse than fricking Devolver.

Probably an exception since it's made in house and not by a second or third party studio

Shouldn't that make it even worse, having a 4 year window between announcement and release date for a title which you have full developmental and marketing control over?

I think one or two big name flagship games are okay but when 90% of your lineup is possible vaporware I don't think you should be showing it off. I was excited for scalebound and it got cancelled. I was excited for metroid prime 4 and it got scrapped and remade. What happened to the rare game in 2020 with the dancing tribal people controlling animals? Is it still even a thing?

>the rare game in 2020 with the dancing tribal people controlling animals? Is it still even a thing?
You mean Michel Ancel's Wild? That's been vaporware since like 2015.
So it's ok when Nintendo do it with their biggest franchise but not ok when Microsoft do it with their numerous studios, because...? It's the same story, it's either ok to announce games 1-2 years prior to release to build up hype or not. Microsoft learned from their mistake with Scalebound and that's why we now see a lot more first party stuff in showcases and less exclusivity deals from the company.
>Is it still even a thing?
Rare hasn't been a thing since the 90s.
Avowed because I'll take a new 1st person fantasy game, and Kunitsu-gami looks nice.
I'm a big jrpg gay and even the atlus stuff was disappointing. Fricking project re : persona.
They usually announce them a day or two in advance, and they usually fall on a Wednesday or Thursday, so if there's nothing tomorrow (which I'm expecting), they'll probably just drop a bunch of shit on Twitter, and maybe do a Partner Mini at the end of this month and a Pikmin 4 Direct in early July
Why?
It's a niche and unique series with great gameplay and an interesting setting, it doesn't compete with other franchises in a meaningful way and keeps the timer system despite it being controversial.
It seems like the furthest thing from slop to me.
Prime 4 is probably going to be the switch's swan song or it will be another botw scenario. That said, we still have p3 reloaded and tactics coming if atlus doesn't go full moron and fe4 remake, but other than that pretty much
hopefully they follow capcom's example and start churning out new IPs again, they've completely stopped after 2019 (no that one shitty japan only visual novel doesn't count)
What new IPs has Capcom made besides Exoprimal? Path of the Goddess is literally just the Onimusha game from the leaks rebranded. If anything Capcom is one of worst cranking out yearly RE games
DMC is drastically mechanically different from RE. Path of the Goddess looks like an Onimusha game. Even if we accept it as a new IP, that's only one more. Capcom still largely runs off of legacy IPs and collections. They aren't cranking out tons of new IPs

we've barely seen anything about PotG but they already stated it had a strategic element which is completely absent from onimusha, stop being a homosexual
Here's your next Nintendo Direct >port >dlc expansion >port >remake >farming sim >port >look what old games we're adding to NSO that should have been there when the service started >remake >port >dlc expansion >generic jrpg >dlc expansion >indie sizzle real >"long awaited" remake that they want to hype up with a big reveal
Followed by >YASSSSSS NINTENDO WON THEY WON THEY WON NO I DON'T PARTICULARLY CARE ABOUT ANY OF THE NON-NINTENDO GAMES SHOWED BUT THEY WON BECAUSE I SAID THEY DID WOOOOO
Getting real tired of this shit. Why does Sony, Microsoft, Capcom, SE (Lol) and PC never fricking dethrone these homosexuals at vidya conferences for once?
because they don't really know what makes Directs so good to begin with.
they just monkey see-> monkey do
>because they don't really know what makes Directs so good to begin with.
Please enlighten us, Mr. Redditor, what is it exactly that makes Nintendo Directs so heckin' good?
they dont randomly add Black folk to games, speed past shit indie games instead of the fricking WORLD PREMIERE
>what is it exactly that makes Nintendo Directs so heckin' good?
Smash reveals, but Nintendo doesn't have that anymore.
What he
said. Now that Smash isn't a distraction anymore, people now see there's nothing in these showcases but shovelware and old ports.
the occasional shadowdrop like the $40 Metroid Prime remaster. The occasional actually good game like Metroid Dread.
>old ports/remasters is what Nintehomies consider "good"
Damn...
Which one was Dread?
Also, Yes. A good remake of a good game is better than a bad new game.
They show games and don't waste time talking about the developers and they lives or random bullshit.
at this point, i think nintendo is using AI to make their games, i don't even know if humans are behind them
Working for Nintendo is probably a soul destroying experience, but fricking hell does it get results.
>and don't waste time talking about the developers and they lives or random bullshit.
Most of them arent actually very good tho
Nothing anymore. They're soulless as frick now and switchlets are morons.
This. How many trailers has Sony shown for final fantasy xvi at this point? And each succesive one has made me want to buy the game less and less. Same thing happened with death loop and last of us 2.

Japan > EN
Not even a viable excuse since many Japanese companies are becoming EN status in terms of lolcowdom
Sony and MS spent the better half of the last two decades completely ignoring their first party IPs while chasing tech dominance that's ultimately only relevant in the short term.

>Indie games (mostly) don't show up because Nintendo has a separate show for them
>Nintendo has a frickton of employees and studios so there's a good amount of content to show
>Something gets shadowdropped
>Nintendo Directs have more notoriety than every other event (now that E3 is kill) so you end up with a lot of high profile devs wanting to put their big game reveals on the show, even if Switch is the worst place to play it

They won and they haven't showed anything, that how bad these events were.
Nintendo already won.
If you aren't on Nintendo's side by this point, you're a troony. Plain and simple.
have faith
They have to give information about Pikmin 4
they tend to do that in Overview Youtube videos.
No-one but manchildren and women care about Nintendo. They aren't anywhere near on the level of Fromsoft and Capcom, which most care about nowadays.
>Capcom
I agree with From Software, but Capcom is completely pozzed and woke now lol
>I agree with From Software
Kys fromtroony
dumb snoy
I expect yet another sub 48 hour announcement of a Partner's Showcase by the end of the month.
All they have to do to instantly win this week is release Side Order
I sure hope there is a june direct.
>Frick you.
>How are we doing so far?
Do they even have people come out and talk in Mini / Partner Showcases?
There is no June direct. Just random shadow drops on twitter for the next few months
Atlus already saved it. Cope.
They really did, starfield might be good but the aesthetic that game has is ugly as frick
>P3 demake
>more P5 garbage nobody wants
>Re:Fantasy is just isekai Persona
They lost hard. Todd the Godd won.
ftfy
nintendo is the only company still making games which sucks because I fricking hate this company
Cope. Nintendo had a good lineup in 2017 when they had to sell their hardware to not go bankrupt. Even since then it's just been 90% remasters and shovelware.
so everyone agrees there's no E3 direct this year, it's been too long. See you guys in September
>AI generates a Direct anytime they get caught up with a controversy or public attention calls for them to be distracted
Not surprising from a big collaborator of BakWrok.
Honestly they can show a Monkey Jesus tier doodle of Metroid Prime 4 as a teaser and it would still win (Not) E3
If we're going to get silksong news this is where it will be
Where's Treehouse, so we can send another card.
Nintendo wins by doing absolutely nothing
Nintendo isn't doing a single thing again until the switch 2 after pikmin
You know it's a shit year when Ubisoft put on the best showcase. I don't even plan on buying any of the games Ubisoft showed but at least they had release dates and gameplay.
I want Earthbound 64
Switch Directs haven't been the same since Smash ended
they lost a lot after iwata died
nah, Iwata's death.
The skits were shit but endearing, however I'd rather just have vidya announcements at the end of the day instead of wasting runtime fricking about.
you are basically watching a commercial. You can spend 5-6 minutes of your life in total of your life per direct without going crazy
>A JAPANESE MAN HOLDING BANANAS?!
>SAVE ME MARIO! I'M GOING CRAZY!
i agree, they have been infinitely better
>i agree, they have been infinitely better
>assblasted smashhomosexual calling anyone other than himself troony
go molest children at a local tournament groomer
nothing was better than the start of nintendos direct revealing hero then at the end they revealed banjo. holy frick they know how to put on a show
It's crazy to me that none of the smash clones even try making trailers for their characters
Yeah, they have been better
Dilate.
t. smash troony
The Direct begging dropped considerably after Smash at least.

May I know which those 2 are anon?
>If it's not coming out in six months it's not relevant and shouldn't be shown
just like metroid prime 4 and bayo 3 back in the day, right anon?
You forgot Advance Wars
Metroid prime 4 being a development disaster is one of the main reasons why they don't announce games that aren't ready anymore
What about ToTK?
Capcom literally had the worst showcase, worse than both Sony and Ubisoft. Even worse than fricking Devolver.
>What about ToTK?

Listen here, you wiener. If Kid Icarus is not in the direct, I don't give TWO FRICKS about YOUR DICK
Is there no direct tomorrow?
Nothing announced yet. Nintendo usually has a presentation in June, but last time it was just Xenoblade 3 and a mini.
Expect Pikmin 2 direct and the OP getting banned by bringing vidya flame war at best
If it’s happening, when will they announce it?
They usually announce them a day or two in advance, and they usually fall on a Wednesday or Thursday, so if there's nothing tomorrow (which I'm expecting), they'll probably just drop a bunch of shit on Twitter, and maybe do a Partner Mini at the end of this month and a Pikmin 4 Direct in early July
I sure love a dozen indie farming games that no one will ever play.
Marvelous already announced like 4 on their own. I don't think we have to worry too much
>I sure love a dozen indie farming games that no one will ever play.
Still better than Pikmin slop.
I hate those shitty games.
Why?
It's a niche and unique series with great gameplay and an interesting setting, it doesn't compete with other franchises in a meaningful way and keeps the timer system despite it being controversial.
It seems like the furthest thing from slop to me.
I genuinely think we're getting nothing tomorrow. Ninty is banking on TOTK for the rest of the summer.
at this point they need a new console, there's nothing left to release on the switch
even if they release a new console soon (they won't) they'd still release games on the basic switch, it's too risky otherwise
Prime 4 is probably going to be the switch's swan song or it will be another botw scenario. That said, we still have p3 reloaded and tactics coming if atlus doesn't go full moron and fe4 remake, but other than that pretty much
But xbox (todd) already saved it

exoprimal, path of the goddess and pragmata

>name change
>game that was just delayed indefinitely
Ok
>>name change
completely moronic excuse for an argument, devil may cry was originally a resident evil game, still a new IP
DMC is drastically mechanically different from RE. Path of the Goddess looks like an Onimusha game. Even if we accept it as a new IP, that's only one more. Capcom still largely runs off of legacy IPs and collections. They aren't cranking out tons of new IPs
we've barely seen anything about PotG but they already stated it had a strategic element which is completely absent from onimusha, stop being a homosexual
>pragmata
I'm so sorry anon
yes pls
It's not even about console war shit anymore
I just want to have something to like about video games.
Here's your next Nintendo Direct
>port
>dlc expansion
>port
>remake
>farming sim
>port
>look what old games we're adding to NSO that should have been there when the service started
>remake
>port
>dlc expansion
>generic jrpg
>dlc expansion
>indie sizzle real
>"long awaited" remake that they want to hype up with a big reveal
Followed by
>YASSSSSS NINTENDO WON THEY WON THEY WON NO I DON'T PARTICULARLY CARE ABOUT ANY OF THE NON-NINTENDO GAMES SHOWED BUT THEY WON BECAUSE I SAID THEY DID WOOOOO
this still makes Nintendo win by showing GAMES
frickers need to stop talking about their feelings and gay bullshit instead of showing GAMES
Nintendo could show just DLC and it would win E3
