>tethered >not AR capable >doesn't look like it's just a regular pair of sunglasses to the casual observer >costs more than $300
VR won't be "saved" until this is fixed
>doesn't look like it's just a regular pair of sunglasses to the casual observer
Where the frick are you gaming that you have to worry about "observers"?
the market is already saturated for $1k plus headsets that are only useful for porn and some gimmicky shit games
the next step beyond marginal improvements (which this is) is a smartphone replacement
You Black folk wouldn't buy it even if it cost 100$, played every single current gen console game at 8k 120 fps and looked exactly like sunglasses, so I don't know why you post about it.
what's your basis for that statement? I own a Quest 2 and have not seen a single compelling reason to upgrade, other than getting facebook shit out of my house
We already had Hololens,
But it was too heavy, had too small fov, and did not have enough computing power and battery life for not making it tethered to a smartphone-ish battery/computing portable hardware.
But that laser holo projection "AR-glass" mechanics is what you'll actually need for these things to replace a Smartphone, due to safety regulations all around the world.
You can't sell shit to wear outside, if it has a pair of smartphone screens strapped to your face that can go off anytime.
The one thing MS was doing right was using a transparent display that has no safety issues when it accidentally shuts down.

I do it for free
>1000 money minimum
Probably too expensive to make a difference. Glad the technology is progressing thoughever
unless your face scan is even a millimeter off then it looks and feels worse than a Quest 2

not him but an AR/VR headset that looks like sunglasses would be really good for riding the bus/train
next thing you'll be begging for is a portable automated jerking off machine in your pants that looks like as if you were just doing nothing
sounds like a good idea. someone get on it
That sounds fricking awesome.

Yes
>implying modern games are good
what's your basis for that statement? I own a Quest 2 and have not seen a single compelling reason to upgrade, other than getting facebook shit out of my house
I wasn't addressing people who own VR or have actual interest in videogames, don't worry about it.
but you quoted my post
after having tried wireless vr it really is a make or break for me at this point, i can't go back
>we can make a single bomb good enough to blow an entire country off the map
>we can't make VR look like regular glasses
what a sick joke
I don't understand why anyone wants to go around with their VR glasses on advertising the degenerate shit they're watching for all to see
If it can turn everyone around me into an anime character without them knowing I might actually be able to enjoy life
>anime character suddenly runs up to you
>suddenly starts screaming and crying about the patriarchy and mansplaining
I don't live in California
>turn everyone around me into an anime character
Jesus Christ how horrifying
Jesus Christ how amazing
how long until Dennou Coil becomes reality
After you die

There's already stuff like the xreal air coming out
Only problem is it's still pretty shit
what are the chances the next valve headset is this small?
