OP forgot to mention that no matter what you're a homosexual and I'm gonna use save states just out spite even when I don't need them, don't care I'm having fun. gay idiot
>get hit >rewind to latest savestate >repeat until i dont get hit >have fun
Yeah nah, you can suck my fricking dick. I'm not even gonna stop at using save states, I'm gonna use the rewind feature because I'm not playing those absolute fricking garbage special stages in Sonic 2 and 3 and act like I'm having fun if I mess up and have to replay the stage to try again.
I will use them whenever I feel like and there's not a thing you can do to stop me.
Awesome! I'm glad you had fun! You didn't beat the game though.
I'll give a (you) just because I'm a hardcore casual that just enjoys playing games on normal mode. If it gets too monotonous, I cheat. If I knew any of you homosexuals that spout this shit in real life I would laugh at you and then frick your wife
Don't be an butthole. It's the closest they will ever get to being able to mog someone so if anyone said that to you in person, just let him have it so that he can stay happy. It's a sensation they're not used to feeling often so it would be fricked up to take that away.
And yet I will still be here talking about it and you have no means of knowing which game I played with savestates and which I didn't so good luck chasing ghosts forever homosexual :^)
When I'm president I will retroactively sentence all you losers that used savestates ever once in your life to life in prison, mark my words
I will save gaming and gamers will be the new american aristocracy, but only if you didn't cheat
I experienced all the content from the opening of the game, to the final boss, to the credits. That's enough for me. I don't care about your obtuse standards.
I can't fathom being elitist about save states and then excusing their use in the bottom case which is literally just "I don't want to do this bit again and the developers are mean for making me". By all means do it if you want to but you're in the same tier as those who use states every few steps.
>after a long bit of dialogue/unskippable cutscene that leads into a boss battle, solely to prevent having to mash A for 10 minutes to make another attempt
fixed that for you
>play Megaman X >stages are piss easy but really long >bosses are shit hard and wreck me in seconds >beating the bosses is just a matter of trial and error until you learn the attack patterns >losing to them makes you do the entire stage again, which contains absolutely 0 challenge or fun
Or I could savestate before the boss and play the game at my own pace, and lose absolutely nothing for it
I won't even apologize, seethe more
I really like savestates in RPGs though >Go into boss battle >Save at start >Fight is going well >Boss pulls out RNG moves that's one hit kill on party out of nowhere >Last save before the fight is an hour back >Got my trusty save state to keep me going from the start of the fight
Don't care if I didn't beat the game to your standards, shit like that would've made me stop playing.
1 you can easily pause to see what's coming next. 3 is acceptable but it feels good to do it fully. Especially use it when you die to the very last note after the screen goes black and Mikhail is talking.
I hate this Kirby picture. Whenever I look at it I think of Reddit and get irrationally angry.
And whenever I get angry I beat my girlfriend.
Frick you OP.
I mostly do it for stuff like grinding for e-tanks before the final boss of a Megaman X game, so I don't have to do it again. I mean if I'm just repeating the scenario wholesale sans the 10 minutes of extra grinding, what's being but wasted time.
What do you mean you just wanna repeat the boss? That's stupid. Games should just put you at the start of the game when you die instead. Now that's fair and challenging.
Look at these weak pussy boy zoomers defending cheating. Entitled c**ts have 100 excuses for being a weak homosexual. No honor no respect all coward pussies in fear. A real projection of the society that crafted them.
i find that if a game really feels like it needs save states, it is probably a bad game. not wanting to replay part of a game implies that part of the game is not fun. i got filtered by the first level of mega man zero 2 because the mini-bosses it throws at you aren't fun enough to warrant waiting for the intro sequence to play again and to kill the trash enemies leading up to the bosses. the mini-bosses have only one attack pattern and are bullet sponges. i don't want to save-state my way through a shitty, tedious video game. mega man zero 1 is broken in a totally different way that requires save states. mega man x is a great video game but zero is trash.
I only really use them when I'm playing something that's not only too difficult for me, but that takes you back to the title screen once you lose all lives/continues, especially if those are sparse to acquire. When I have unlimited lives/continues, I do my best to not save in any way, since while it can be difficult, at least I'm being treated fairly by not getting sent back all of the time, so I try to play fair too. However, when I'm playing something that's not only punishing, but forces me to restart all of the time, I save, because I know it was done for the sake of increasing play time, since most people back then didn't own many cartridges and/or relied on renting. I do try to make rules for myself when saving, one of the things I do is to not save in the middle of a level, I only save at their start, to effectively give myself unlimited lives/continues, but I still have to beat the level as intended, on a single run. I know that those playthroughs of mine aren't legitimate and I didn't actually beat those video games, but if saving can improve the experience, I do it.
OP here, posted the wrong list
Here’s the correct list of proper times to use savestates:
I will use them whenever I feel like and there's not a thing you can do to stop me.
this
and I don't give a shit
Based Fun Chads.
If you use a save state for any reason, you didn't beat the game.
Okay. I'll even let you seethe about how I did not beat the game lmao.
Ok. Problem?
>imagine holding pride in beating a videogame
My man it's not even real. Major soi behaviour.
the only acceptable use of a savestate is to simulate leaving on the console
-When you suck my dick (to savor the flavor)
>get hit
>rewind to latest savestate
>repeat until i dont get hit
>have fun
>Use ammo to kill enemies
>Rewind to last savestate
>Repeat using only melee so resources aren't wasted
>Have fun
I never use save states because I always finish a gaming session in an area I can save.
OP forgot to mention that no matter what you're a homosexual and I'm gonna use save states just out spite even when I don't need them, don't care I'm having fun. gay idiot
Awesome! I'm glad you had fun! You didn't beat the game though.
didn't ask
Eh, fine by me.
Okay and what are you gonna do about it?
I'll give a (you) just because I'm a hardcore casual that just enjoys playing games on normal mode. If it gets too monotonous, I cheat. If I knew any of you homosexuals that spout this shit in real life I would laugh at you and then frick your wife
Umm... A hardcore casual doesn't play on normal. They play on easy. Normal people play on normal.
Don't be an butthole. It's the closest they will ever get to being able to mog someone so if anyone said that to you in person, just let him have it so that he can stay happy. It's a sensation they're not used to feeling often so it would be fricked up to take that away.
that's funny. it sure looks like i beat it. are you sure you aren't being a schizo again?
:3
And yet I will still be here talking about it and you have no means of knowing which game I played with savestates and which I didn't so good luck chasing ghosts forever homosexual :^)
>all the SEETHING replies
Yeah nah, you can suck my fricking dick. I'm not even gonna stop at using save states, I'm gonna use the rewind feature because I'm not playing those absolute fricking garbage special stages in Sonic 2 and 3 and act like I'm having fun if I mess up and have to replay the stage to try again.
I don't care
Why does /VR/ tell me that playing games on emulation is not really playing the game?
>throws in the last point to justify cheating
nah frick you cheater
When I'm president I will retroactively sentence all you losers that used savestates ever once in your life to life in prison, mark my words
I will save gaming and gamers will be the new american aristocracy, but only if you didn't cheat
Ok. And when I invade this planet with my army of starseed kthonians I will insert a swordfish in your ass.
Is the game police gonna come to my house and arrest me for not beating the game the "real way"?
No, you just didn't beat the game. Which is totally fine! You can enjoy a game without beating it.
I experienced all the content from the opening of the game, to the final boss, to the credits. That's enough for me. I don't care about your obtuse standards.
God this post is just begging for a soijak
Not worth saving a soijak picture. But I agree.
Funny, the end credits say otherwise

dont care about your rules, dont care about imposing my own on others
I primarily use them in place of the game's save feature so I don't have to waste time going through the save and load menus.
>whenever i want
>acceptable use of savestates
Drakengard ending E final boss
1 you can easily pause to see what's coming next. 3 is acceptable but it feels good to do it fully. Especially use it when you die to the very last note after the screen goes black and Mikhail is talking.
-Whenever I damn well feel like it.
I hate this Kirby picture. Whenever I look at it I think of Reddit and get irrationally angry.
And whenever I get angry I beat my girlfriend.
Frick you OP.
OP look what you did. You made this guy beat his girlfriend. You should be in jail for this.
Frick you authoritarian scum i use save states however i want. I also don't speed run games like trannies on v frick off gay
Using anything including saving means you didn't beat the game.
I use infinite lives cheats and there's nothing you can do about it.
If you don't beat the game in one sitting without ever turning the system off, you didn't really beat the game.
If you get hit during that one sitting, you didn't really beat the game.
We use save state all the time at work bro
You're not even really working.
If you use an input device you didn't beat the game.
I mostly do it for stuff like grinding for e-tanks before the final boss of a Megaman X game, so I don't have to do it again. I mean if I'm just repeating the scenario wholesale sans the 10 minutes of extra grinding, what's being but wasted time.
I dunno maybe i'm coping.
What do you mean you just wanna repeat the boss? That's stupid. Games should just put you at the start of the game when you die instead. Now that's fair and challenging.
Yeah man, real men waste their time with trivial bullshit instead of starting right where they’re having trouble
Now you're talking. Only pussies value their time. Actual gamers don't.
-Whenever you want if it's an old JRPG
It's my house
My video games
My rules
Now put the Bridget cosplay on and bend over
>rules
Frick you Black person, how about I do what I want and you try and stop me?
The only acceptable use of a save state is at the beginning of a stage/level. Anything else is cheating.
I use savestates so I don't have to start from the beginning again when I turn it off.
Look at these weak pussy boy zoomers defending cheating. Entitled c**ts have 100 excuses for being a weak homosexual. No honor no respect all coward pussies in fear. A real projection of the society that crafted them.
I just got really pissed at RPD nemesis so I savestated before his 2nd form.
didn't need it, 12th time is the charm/skvhh
>giving a shit about any behavior in a single player game whatsoever
you know this puts you in the same boat as people who hate mods right?
I use it to beat the worst mechanics in ANY game, RNG
Frick that shit
