I don't know much about them, I just got the xbox controller to play on PC and I have to say I have zero complaints, but I don't play platformers or fighting games and I've heard the dpad is kind of bad for those

the plastic on my left stick is breaking off, have never had this happen on a controller before, other than my 3DS Circle Pad.
Lack of rechargeable battery included is stupid (though situation is better than Sony's fricking 4hr battery), and the separate one they sell for the controller has no charge indicator on the Series controllers anymore and died on me in a year.
No. It has the best mapping but it definitely isn't the perfect controller. The triggers actually get sticky because the cushion breaks if you use it too much. I hate Playstation but the Dualsense feels way better

These are what I hate most about the xbox controllers. The face button contacts have been revised on later revisions but the shoulders from the One core controller onward have this deliberately fragile plastic piece that's prone to breakage (because planned obsolescence).
No it is NOT perfect because of the shoulder buttons sitting too flush with the casing. This leads to accidental presses. It was an issue with Xbone controller and it is a problem with Series S/X controllers

I guess it depends how you hold the controller. It feels most confortable to me to hold it with kind of an "L" hand position where my pointer finger rests on the triggers. But holding it this way has my pointers naturally placed between the trigger and button. Other controllers I hold in this way does not have this issue because the shoulder buttons are on top the controller as opposed to Xbox where the buttons go into the corner

I had a PS2 and Xbox in 6th gen and if a game had a Xbox version I'd play there. I know in many cases the Xbox version is "better" technically, but I wasn't seeing any difference on my jank ass 19 inch Admiral television that was an antique even then (not THIS old but still old as shit).
It was 100% because I like the controller better. The S controller that is.

As much as I love the DualSense as a marked improvement over the DualShock there’s certainly things that I can find fault in. The trackpad I actually like but the lights need to go at least on the top, if you must keep the ones each side of the pad. I actually kinda like the tension triggers.
Xbox hit it outta the park with the removable battery pack letting you use regular batteries, even with the charge stand keeping my backup ready to go it would’ve been nice not needing the extra controller since they run the price of a game now.
I like the PS4 controllers rounded handles better but overall I like the dual sense better

This shit is AWFUL. The Elite dpad meanwhile is god tier. I feel like a shill with how much I talk about that controller but it's so good.
How is pic related any different? Never tried an elite controller mind you. But it looks just as cancerous as an Xbox's d-pad.
Its a magnetic cap for the analog dpad beneath. You can swap it for a simple cross dpad. They are better for different things, for example that one is great for fighting games, it is very simple to get exactly the directional inputs you need for qcs, hcs, and 360s. The plus requires both the down and up to be pressed simultaneously for diagonals so it's not ideal for that, but for things like platformers and games where the dpad is just inventory you just take that off and pop on the plus sign cap. It's great. There are even a few aftermarket caps if you want. Same for the sticks and backpaddles.
I really like the elite but their quality control sucks dicks
