if there's one thing that Gen 6 did right is give us the most soulful vs screens. Using actual art for all the trainers and gym leaders was one of the only moments of pure soul post gen 5. we'll never get full character art for all the trainers ever again thanks to absolute brainlets like you, thanks.

Using the portraits was lazy as frick, especially since not every trainer class got their own unique overworld model regardless of how off it looked from their actual design, sometimes leading to them looking entirely different once the battle started.

I'll agree that I haven't liked the embracing of the multicolored hair. Not sure if Pokemon always had it but it feels like it's gotten more prominent in the later games.
From the top of my head, it has been restricted to a single character in the last couple gens (Guzma and Nessa) but both those characters are awesome so I don't care.
Now almost every gym leader and Nemona has mixed colors. I don't understand it, I assumed they changed the overall artstyle to make it less anime-ish so it can fit broader audiences, but then they double down and give them third-grade anime hair colors anyways. What are they smoking?
I can deal with the silly hair, considering I grew up with Yugioh and other hilariously dated shows, but the thing that confuses me is the sudden inclusion of gaudy makeup. It started in X and Y with old ladies having purple nails (or were they blue? I can't recall), then it got more prominent with regular trainers, and then we started having major characters with moronic cosmetics. SwSh has two examples, one being Marnie and her dumb "punk" hair with matching emo nails, and the other being that ugly b***h in the DLC with the poison theme whose name I forgot. Nessa also has the blue over her eyes, which looks absolutely horrible with the rest of her design. The dark-skinned/black girl in the leak is taking it up a hundred notches with that Dial soap yellow makeup.
It's ugly, and looks absolutely trashy on these characters. I wish they'd stop trying. So far, only Jesse has been able to pull off wearing makeup, and it's only hilariously low budget lipstick.
