i know that pc fats turn up their nose at GT but in terms of car culture, car models, learning about the development of cars, etc., nothing beats it. And GT is obviously not as accurate as games like ACC, but it's fun and plays well, including with a controller.
And I also guarantee the game will be super popular and beloved, by those same pc fats, if (when) it gets ported.
Gran Turismo stopped being good with GT4, there are ways to turn Assetto Corsa into something similiar to GT too
I don't plan to buy a console but if they do port it over I haven't played the series since PS2 days and would likely try it. I expect nostalgia won't hold up and I'll go back to other titles but hey maybe I'll be surprised.

You can't. You can run a bunch of janky mods that don't really work, or you can ignore the GT4 delusion and start playing upgraded TXR instead. 40 player lobbies. Simulated traffic across over a dozen kilometers of Tokyo expressway. Just don't take my fricking S2k you absolute c**t, why do half the servers offer dogshit cars nobody wants to drive?

GT gays are the most annoying because they still think the game is a sim (It isn't) and get really angry when people criticise GT. GT hasn't been good since 4 and GT 7 is a microtransaction skinner box. At least with PC you get mountains of content for what you pay on Assetto.

it's kind of fricked how Ubisoft keeps trying, EA kept trying, no one wants to fricking try anymore because these games piss and spew about without any identity of their own, while Forza can shovel shit and get b***hed at and no one cares after a week. Horizon is boring, Motorsport is broken, and there's not an ounce of charm or personality that isn't "how do you do fellow car enthusiasts" tier garbage.

I think I could rant for multiple hours about how much I hate Gran Turismo. It's not that it's necessarily a bad franchise, it's that it isn't fun to play compared to like 90% of other racing games. Even if you have a wheel, it feels like shit. The cars handle worse than GTA IV, tuning is a complete potshot since you have barely any real feedback, the entire e-sports shit is cringe and I cannot believe that GT7 still forces you to be always online just to play it.
But above all else? I hate how the series peaked with GT2 and has since completely fallen off a cliff. Fans still suck this series off when it keeps getting worse, they even made the movie a box office hit when it barely fricking resembles these games.
I don't see what makes 2 so great.
