not if you buy the cheapest piece of running trash (which is heaps of fun, especially if racing against other pieces of trash in a sort of derby/banger type of racing).
>when it comes to immersion on car culture, nothing beats it
They took that thing a bit too seriously, like giving rare old cars exorbitant prices to buy, so pricey that you even if you did everything in the game you could afford a couple
i know that pc fats turn up their nose at GT but in terms of car culture, car models, learning about the development of cars, etc., nothing beats it. And GT is obviously not as accurate as games like ACC, but it's fun and plays well, including with a controller.
And I also guarantee the game will be super popular and beloved, by those same pc fats, if (when) it gets ported.
I don't plan to buy a console but if they do port it over I haven't played the series since PS2 days and would likely try it. I expect nostalgia won't hold up and I'll go back to other titles but hey maybe I'll be surprised.

How do I make Assetto Corsa like my childhood memories of GT4?
You can't. You can run a bunch of janky mods that don't really work, or you can ignore the GT4 delusion and start playing upgraded TXR instead. 40 player lobbies. Simulated traffic across over a dozen kilometers of Tokyo expressway. Just don't take my fricking S2k you absolute c**t, why do half the servers offer dogshit cars nobody wants to drive?
no one turns their nose up at GT other than autistic simdads who turn their nose up at anything other than their favorite paywall regardless of platform. most pc people i'd imagine are more in the "please, please god let those nvidia leaks come true and port GT to PC because forza is so far down the shitter thanks to zero competition" camp
>no one turns their nose up at GT other than autistic simdads
amazing how these guys show up any time anybody on the internet talks about GT, like a bat signal
GT gays are the most annoying because they still think the game is a sim (It isn't) and get really angry when people criticise GT. GT hasn't been good since 4 and GT 7 is a microtransaction skinner box. At least with PC you get mountains of content for what you pay on Assetto.
dude I've been playing GT since fricking 1998 and I've never considered it a fricking simracing game series
you simgays are fricking obsessed with the game motto being "The real DRIVING simulator" while not fricking understanding the meaning of it
>because forza is so far down the shitter thanks to zero competition
it's kind of fricked how Ubisoft keeps trying, EA kept trying, no one wants to fricking try anymore because these games piss and spew about without any identity of their own, while Forza can shovel shit and get b***hed at and no one cares after a week. Horizon is boring, Motorsport is broken, and there's not an ounce of charm or personality that isn't "how do you do fellow car enthusiasts" tier garbage.
I think I could rant for multiple hours about how much I hate Gran Turismo. It's not that it's necessarily a bad franchise, it's that it isn't fun to play compared to like 90% of other racing games. Even if you have a wheel, it feels like shit. The cars handle worse than GTA IV, tuning is a complete potshot since you have barely any real feedback, the entire e-sports shit is cringe and I cannot believe that GT7 still forces you to be always online just to play it.
But above all else? I hate how the series peaked with GT2 and has since completely fallen off a cliff. Fans still suck this series off when it keeps getting worse, they even made the movie a box office hit when it barely fricking resembles these games.
>people buy expensive ass setups and monitors to drive in a videogame
Probably still less than maintaining a race car.
Plus crashing.
not if you buy the cheapest piece of running trash (which is heaps of fun, especially if racing against other pieces of trash in a sort of derby/banger type of racing).
Try to build a racing car first if you think sim racing is expensive.
It's pretty immersive, too... so I guess you could call it an "immersive sim racer".
Well the car handling isn't fun enough to call it an arcade racer, so what else can you call it?
>nupcgamer doesn't understand what sim means
Its not a sim, but it will forever be Kino.
It's a "semi-sim" at most, but when it comes to immersion on car culture, nothing beats it. It's on a league of it's on.
The term you are searching for is simcade

simulation: the production of a computer model of something, especially for the purpose of study.
yes. it is but you can question whether it is accurate to real driving.

Gran Turismo stopped being good with GT4, there are ways to turn Assetto Corsa into something similiar to GT too
I don't plan to buy a console but if they do port it over I haven't played the series since PS2 days and would likely try it. I expect nostalgia won't hold up and I'll go back to other titles but hey maybe I'll be surprised.
Well the older titles are getting some upgrades too
How do I make Assetto Corsa like my childhood memories of GT4?
Just search how to get and install Assetto Corsa Evoluzione, don't know if there is a GT4 UI mod available
The best roster of cars and best OST (if its japanese)

>Car models get ported into Assetto
>End up more accurate because Assetto's engine has higher fidelity
Thanks for beta testing though.

BUT IT'S LESS FUN BECAUSE IT REQUIRES MORE TECHNICAL DRIVING SKILL AND SHITS ON CONTROLLER PLAYERS.
PCgays shouldn't be happy with racing games on that platform either considering the amount of paid mods that exist
Better quality than Scam Turismo 7.
So does the official Formula 1 game and that's better quality than GT7

i'm amazed at how bad the new Forza turned out.
It's not, but wasn't it reasonable to call it that when it first came out?
its more sim than people seem to think
it even models tire deg
happens every day for some games, so many people call Smash "fighting game" for example

I don't see what makes 2 so great.
Everything about this picture, that's what.
>shit graphics
>shit controls
moron opinion
Threadly reminder in motorsport engine sounds is not the only thing you hear
?si=66ayBQW7x_3DnUMj&t=230
give me a "real sim" that feels good playing with a gamepad
>but then it's not a real sim
thats why it will remain niche forever
the fact this song is part of the soundtrack feels like a fever dream
