future is great and looked great. Don't make this a thread about that. We know future is the one hardly anyone here ever played. Today is a good day l. Kys
Most people here played jsr on steam or ps3 not Dreamcast or Dreamcast emulation. You can prefer whatever you like but it's a dead giveaway they never played it when a guy claims to love jsr and hate jsrf.
I'm pretty excited for a 3D game but I doubt anything's gonna top 4 or 2 for me. I hope it's still great fun with some banging music. Bring my homie Max back though, I miss him so much.
Yep. There were two updates for SOR4, one free and the other paid:
The free stuff: >Mania+ Difficulty >Extra color palettes >Training mode
The paid stuff: >Survival mode, which was very fun >New moves for each character, even the retro characters (you exchange these moves with others) >Max, Shiva, Estel (the cop lady) as playable characters >Roo (SOR3 ver.) is an unlockable secret character
They should make it faster like SoR3 with more cool features to be honest, and if they do a proper beat em up there would be nothing like it on the market.
I'm glad it's coming I hope things like weight and gravity return to the series, 4 was a shitty juggle fest like all modern beat em ups.
I want the fighting to have oomph and be more visceral, from what little you can see in the trailer almost looks your going to get zoom ins for cinematic attacks, I hope this won't break up the game flow, Double Dragon Gaiden has a similar mechanic and it turns the game into a slow paced slog.
Am I the only one who wasn't really paying attention to this because I saw actors and a montage and assumed it was an advertisement for already released shit
Why the frick would Sega announce 5 new games from completely different franchises in ONE trailer? Why not give them room to breathe? People are just gonna be confused now. Then Sega will wonder why none of them sold.
I think in part had they announced only lets say crazy taxi or golden axe probably not many people would care about these long dead and dormant IPs. Its not a very good choice regardless but if they really stagger these games and give them the polish they deserve we could be on the cusp of SEGA being good again.
Shill me on the Shinobi series, I only hear people ever talk about 3 and the PS2 game and they look pretty cool. But it seems like this franchise is really overlooked in terms of SEGA IPs.
Are the other Shinobi games not worth playing? I typically like playing short game series like this in order so when I get to the actual good shit, it hits harder than it would've if I just jumped into it.
Yes, but the OG style ones are ballbusters and pretty rough for a modern player because of their simplicity and instant death. Go ahead and try them, but don't feel bad about moving onto Revenge which is the first one with a lifebar and the game that put the series on the map.
Shinobi 1 is a skipper
Shadowdancer is probably the most shallow game in the series, it's just a hack and slash but it's the one with the dog so it's pretty cool, it's just Moonwalker but with ninjas.
the original version of Revenge of Shinobi is a spectacle that has to be played to be believed. it's Fortnite 30 years before Fortnite, with Batman, Spider-Man, the Hulk, Rambo, The Terminator and Godzilla all as bosses, Sega gave zero fricks about others IPs, also Yuzo Koshiro's best soundtrack on the genesis.
Shinobi 3 is just one of the tightest, most polished 2d games ever. it's stands up as great in any era.
shinobi 1 and shadow dancer are arcade-style games and you should probably play the arcade versions rather than the console ones to appreciate the context. i wouldn't say they are "shallow" but being arcade games they do have relatively simple movesets/powerups as opposed to the OP divekicks and shit you can do in s3
PS2 Shinobi and it's sequel Nightshade are the Dark Souls of the console, know more for being hard than good, think of them as a prototype Bayonetta as they share ideas and set pieces like fighting on top of a moving jet
the 8 and 16 bit Shinobi are slightly slower paced run and gun games similar to Namco's Rolling Thunder or Capcom's Codename Viper but with more emphasis on platforming, Shinobi 3 perfects the platforming and adds a really skillful defensive mechanic.
the original games have you find rescue npcs hidden throughout the stage to progress to the next level
don't fall for it, only schizo trannies play pso2 anymore. Sega DESTROYED the frick out of PSO2 with their NGS update, and they hallowed out the original PSO2 basically tanking their playerbase permanently. even the japs are upset.
>played Crazy Taxi, JSR, Golden Axe, and bits of Shinobi III throughout teenage years thanks to emulation and ports >absolutely loved them all >get trailers for new games for all these series at once >3D Sonic's even good again >mfw
The stars are aligning, just wait. Dreamcast 2 and SA3 any day now. This trailer + DBZ made that entire slopfest awards show worth it
They looked mid budget, which is a good thing. That means that
a) they're not part of the "super games" moronation, which are almost guaranteed to be live service stuff
b) they don't have sky high sales expectations and are most likely not ladden with classic modern AAA nonsense and will instead be focusing on just delivering a fun and good product.
I think most of the games are in early development, and that's why there was so little to show.
Shinobi looks ready, though. That could come out within 6 months, I feel.
There were multiple studios that worked on SOR4. Just by looking at Shinobi, I can at least say that Lizardcube, who mainly handled the art direction, are working on it.
Crazy Taxi as it is, is far too arcade for zoomies to want to play. JSR will also do poorly because they want all these games combined to make back the money they lost on Hyenas and that will NEVER happen.
The one that screamed live service was Crazy Taxi. Jet Set could be but it just looked bland overall. I wish we got some samples of music instead of generic nog beats
Streets of Rage 4 exists anon, I've gotten my fill of 2D since I doubt anything will surpass it in that regards. If we can get a 3D SoR game that's actually good I'm down. I just wanna beat shit up with a GRAND UPPA. Shinobi definitely deserves it more, I really hope it does well and gives its series some more visibility.
Also why are you projecting about penises, don't be weird.
Streets of Rage 4 sold over 2 million copies but I'm doubtful that this one will simply because it's in 3d and it only looks avg for a modern 3d game. If this were any company but Sega, I'd assume that these were just proof of concept vids but I'm confident that the final retail game will look exactly the same as the trailer. Modern Sega half asses everything, including Sanic.
By the way if you want that canceled Golden axe game
throw this in your web browser (Or if it actually shows up as a link, just click it.)
steam://install/1368460
>Jet Set Radio fan excited to play his favorite game for the first time
>new jet set looks objectively worse than future
how the hell did they do it
Future looked like shit homie, OG was way better but of course you wouldn't know that since you haven't fricking played it
future is great and looked great. Don't make this a thread about that. We know future is the one hardly anyone here ever played. Today is a good day l. Kys
I prefer JSR but man Future was a fricking Xbox pack-in, pretty sure more people played it than a njche Dreamcast game
Most people here played jsr on steam or ps3 not Dreamcast or Dreamcast emulation. You can prefer whatever you like but it's a dead giveaway they never played it when a guy claims to love jsr and hate jsrf.
no cel shading, that's pretty much it. it's leaning too far into realism to be good. bomb rush chads win again.
Complete lack of art direction
true
I've played JSR, JSRF, and BRC. cope
>b-but what about hover?
What ABOUT hover?
Streets of Rage chads, how are we feeling?
I'm pretty excited for a 3D game but I doubt anything's gonna top 4 or 2 for me. I hope it's still great fun with some banging music. Bring my homie Max back though, I miss him so much.
I played 1,2,3 but haven't even touched 4 yet lmao
Suprised golden axe also cameback I'm hypes for that one too, also suprised crazy taxi has no fans
>Bring my homie Max back though, I miss him so much
Max is in 4, Skate's the one that needs to be back in this entry.
Is this after the Mr X DLC? I haven't gotten around touching the game since but I need to fix that. Who else have they added since then? Shiva?
Yep. There were two updates for SOR4, one free and the other paid:
The free stuff:
>Mania+ Difficulty
>Extra color palettes
>Training mode
The paid stuff:
>Survival mode, which was very fun
>New moves for each character, even the retro characters (you exchange these moves with others)
>Max, Shiva, Estel (the cop lady) as playable characters
>Roo (SOR3 ver.) is an unlockable secret character
Pretty good, 4 was great
>crazy taxi has no fans
That's nice too, had a lot of fun at the arcades with it back in the day
They should make it faster like SoR3 with more cool features to be honest, and if they do a proper beat em up there would be nothing like it on the market.
Even if they most likely don't top 4, I'm so hype
I'm glad it's coming I hope things like weight and gravity return to the series, 4 was a shitty juggle fest like all modern beat em ups.
I want the fighting to have oomph and be more visceral, from what little you can see in the trailer almost looks your going to get zoom ins for cinematic attacks, I hope this won't break up the game flow, Double Dragon Gaiden has a similar mechanic and it turns the game into a slow paced slog.
More like NIGA
I swear he said homie instead of SEGA
YOU STILL DONT OWN A SEGA CD
Am I the only one who wasn't really paying attention to this because I saw actors and a montage and assumed it was an advertisement for already released shit
I am going to buy and play every single game shown and announced in this trailer
Why the frick would Sega announce 5 new games from completely different franchises in ONE trailer? Why not give them room to breathe? People are just gonna be confused now. Then Sega will wonder why none of them sold.
>sega
>making sensible business decisions
lol, lmao even.
I think in part had they announced only lets say crazy taxi or golden axe probably not many people would care about these long dead and dormant IPs. Its not a very good choice regardless but if they really stagger these games and give them the polish they deserve we could be on the cusp of SEGA being good again.
>that leak that mentioned new golden axe a few weeks ago and nobody cared
why is it always the REAL leaks that get ignored on/v/
Shill me on the Shinobi series, I only hear people ever talk about 3 and the PS2 game and they look pretty cool. But it seems like this franchise is really overlooked in terms of SEGA IPs.
Play those games you mentioned. Shinobi 3 is like 30 minutes long just emulate that shit right now and easy.
PS2 Shinboi will crush your balls. Its good af though. A very different kind of action game from today's titles.
Thay said play at least some of Shadow Dancer for dog bro
All the Genesis games are worth playing, I especially like Shadow Dancer.
Saturn Shinobi skip, one of the worst games ever.
shinobi 1 and shadow dancer are arcade-style games and you should probably play the arcade versions rather than the console ones to appreciate the context. i wouldn't say they are "shallow" but being arcade games they do have relatively simple movesets/powerups as opposed to the OP divekicks and shit you can do in s3
Shadow Dancer Arcade and Genesis are actually completely different games.
PS2 Shinobi and it's sequel Nightshade are the Dark Souls of the console, know more for being hard than good, think of them as a prototype Bayonetta as they share ideas and set pieces like fighting on top of a moving jet
the 8 and 16 bit Shinobi are slightly slower paced run and gun games similar to Namco's Rolling Thunder or Capcom's Codename Viper but with more emphasis on platforming, Shinobi 3 perfects the platforming and adds a really skillful defensive mechanic.
the original games have you find rescue npcs hidden throughout the stage to progress to the next level
>know more for being hard than good
That's the talk of a weak man
NEGA
>BMAF
Based Sega
Sega knows it’s us brothas keeping them in business. About time they started giving their finest rice maidens to us. The future is blasian.
Blasians are even more disgusting than normal mongrels and they fit in even worse. You Black folk have serious mental disorders
Cry Chang.
>MUH JAPANESE WIFE BBC
HOT
Blasia girls are hot af. Keep seething ricedick.
Thoroughly enjoyed thing
>new sega console
>has all the fightan games on it
>and a black guy screaming SEGA every time the disc registers an authentic SEGA-CD disc
Would you buy it?
How loud is he?
Pretty loud
?t=92
Sega has fallen into the woke void now too frick
Look at all that minority representation. Disgusting
Play Segas Super Game MMO
What happened with that?
It got a version 2 and is available on all platforms
https://pso2.com/lp/
post more of this character i saw you post more this character
Play Segas MMO right now if you want more
i did it sucked
If I play can we do “that”?
don't fall for it, only schizo trannies play pso2 anymore. Sega DESTROYED the frick out of PSO2 with their NGS update, and they hallowed out the original PSO2 basically tanking their playerbase permanently. even the japs are upset.
Die ngs
Sure when they nuke NIGS and resume development of pso2 base.
can`t believe this game is already 3 years old lmao, theres still barely any content in the game
I'm just glad they are still trying and at least being aware that Dreamcast era was something
>played Crazy Taxi, JSR, Golden Axe, and bits of Shinobi III throughout teenage years thanks to emulation and ports
>absolutely loved them all
>get trailers for new games for all these series at once
>3D Sonic's even good again
>mfw
The stars are aligning, just wait. Dreamcast 2 and SA3 any day now. This trailer + DBZ made that entire slopfest awards show worth it
WAIWAIWAI WTF WHAT HAPPENED??? IS SSGA RETURNING??? TRAILER PLEASE!!
Most of the games looked low budget and outsourced besides JSR.
What a fricking incredible announcement. If they do motor raid next I'll explode or Virtua on
>new golden axe & shinobi game
FINALLY
Best trailer of the show, I came
Crazy Taxi looked very empty, like there was hardly any traffic.
I think most of the games are in early development, and that's why there was so little to show.
Shinobi looks ready, though. That could come out within 6 months, I feel.
Chances of Phantasy Star Generations IV? The game will have it's birthday in few days
BMAF is so kino
awesome, now if only they can fix pso2 up, or just release a real pso3
Frick PSO, give me a new single player Phantasy Star. I don't give a shit if you think IV wraps everything up. There's plenty they could do.
yeah, I'd also like a new single player phantasy star game.
Frick Phantasy Star, make a new IP.
So is Shinobi by the Streets of Rage 4 devs
We dunno shit yet
There were multiple studios that worked on SOR4. Just by looking at Shinobi, I can at least say that Lizardcube, who mainly handled the art direction, are working on it.
It's probably the same artists/animators.
>NEGA
>Big gays
>Thanks homie
5/10 would shitpost again
Crazy Taxi with drift boosting seems fricking fun
DEATH ADDER BROS, WE EATING GOOD TONIGHT
i just want SEGA to make a new arcade racing game
Crazy Taxi as it is, is far too arcade for zoomies to want to play. JSR will also do poorly because they want all these games combined to make back the money they lost on Hyenas and that will NEVER happen.
This is SEGA we're talking about, so they're gonna frick it all up somehow.
Probably half of them, but statistically we get one or two good games out of this
As long as JSR is good and they dont make it a fricking live service like rumors have claimed for years then I'd be happy to buy it
The one that screamed live service was Crazy Taxi. Jet Set could be but it just looked bland overall. I wish we got some samples of music instead of generic nog beats
Am I the only one disappointed that Streets of Rage was some weird unity slop while Shinobi is the one with the fluid 2D art?
But I guess this is Ganker so you guys are just probably thinking about black wieners as usual.
Just play 4
SEGA games are too arcade like to appeal to modern audiences.
that's why they went full nostalgia bait to attract older millennials like me.
I'd kill for a non vr Space Channel 5 that worked on modern TVs
Streets of Rage 4 sold over 2 million copies but I'm doubtful that this one will simply because it's in 3d and it only looks avg for a modern 3d game. If this were any company but Sega, I'd assume that these were just proof of concept vids but I'm confident that the final retail game will look exactly the same as the trailer. Modern Sega half asses everything, including Sanic.
