Sony porting their games to Steam is so fricking moronic and backwards because they do everything in their power to hinder Xbox despite it being FAR in last place while Steam is growing immensely. Sony defeated SEGA, Microsoft mogged Nintendo by buying Rare and other stuff, so Nintendo had to rebrand itself as the kiddy option, now Microsoft killed itself as it's oft to do, Sony couln't handle its own success andd Nintendo is literally the only option left if you are remotely serious about console gaming.

I've been gaming on PC and console since the early 90s, and I think it's clear home consoles are going the way of the dinosaur. PS5 is the only true home console left, and I've probably used mine for a total of 2 hours this past year to try out FFXVI. The switch is a handheld with an HDMI port, there is no debate around this, it is not a home console. I haven't touched my switch at all in years. BotW is probably the most overrated game of all time, Mario titles are always boring nostalgia bait, Animal Crossing hype came and went fast, and Gamefreak has already ruined itself.
As more and more devices like the Steam Deck get released, home consoles will become further relegated to third world shit holes. Both Nintendo and Sony should politely bow out of the hardware space. It will be a better, more just society to be unified on a singular platform.

I was alive in the 80s dip shit. I grew up playing Master Blaster and Castlevania on NES and Doom on PC. There is just too much overlap between PC and home console these days, making PC the clear choice objectively. Nintendo hasn't released a competitive piece of hardware since the GameCube, which was a flop.

Microsoft's defeat is due to their own dumbass decisions over 2 decades landing them 3rd place every fricking time. From doing nothing but shooters and sports on Xbox, to the 360 having a 30+% failure rate and immediately dropping support for the 360 when the Xbone released. The Xbox itself proclaiming always online and no game sharing right before release. The Series S existing at all which held their games development back, and finally the XBSX/S having no reason to be owned because everything they released was also on PC or other platforms via Game Pass.
The Xbox brand was never profitable for Microsoft.
