There's been a rumored new collection coming up and it's gotten leaked that they're going to be taking down Sonic The Fighters starting in november and it will be fully removed by January 28th 2024 on PS3 and Xbox 360.
The new sonic collection is rumored to contain Chaotix, Sonic R, Sonic The Fighters, Sonic Jam, Sonic Spin-Ball and Sonic 3d Blast.
This would be the first time Chaotix would be present on a collection as would Sonic Jam despite it being a compilation of genesis sonic games, you have that whole 3d overworld to explore now.
saturn emulation is hot garbage its literally impossible to get all of jam running. the open world is barely stable and the games just dont work.

look up Saturn Tribute or S-Tribute for switch and PC.
Saturn emulation for modern platforms has been a thing since 2019, and there have been a lot of games already emulated.
I'd buy it just for Sonic R if it has online
Did Origins have any online changes? I know they had challenges, but mostly just had added stuff for Single player. I'm imagining this new rumored collection is for the movie just like Origins was for the last one.

What? Just the overworld part? I can't see them including the whole thing, especially with Origins out.
Who knows, they added playable classic Amy, so maybe Shadow is next and will be thrown into redone origins versions of those games.

Not only would this require 32X emulation (which we have not seen in a commercial release up to this point), Sonic Jam has the original soundtrack for Sonic 3&K, so that can't just be emulated either.
What are you talking about, there's been multiple 32x titles ported to modern systems already. Granted they were the Cart+Disc combo games but they're out there.
If you're referring to Night Trap and Corpse Killer, then the comparison isn't really relevant, since those ports were multiplatform FMV games that didn't borrow anything from the CD 32X versions in particular, not at all similar to Knuckles Chaotix.
even if they did nail the 32x emulation themselves or borrow the right emu they would never release chaotix on anything with the way that game is, it's literally unfinished slapped together levels and barely anything happens in it
I'd argue they would release it if they could emulate it properly since they have no problem rereleasing worse Sonic games like Sonic Blast (the Game Gear game)

All I want is Chaotix. I’d buy any collection just to play that game. Sonic the Fighters is a pretty safe bet for a rerelease since it was in one of the Judgment games, I already own it digitally on Xbox so I’m not missing out if it’s delisted
