Barely any dark shit anymore and literally nobody dies anymore. Even Frontiers that people like to proclaim that it's "dark" is pretty light-hearted when compared to the dark subjects from SA2 or 06.

My problem with it is that it danced around it's concepts rather than not actually go into it since there's the themes of mortality and accepting one's death BUT it's all either surface level or again danced around and not actually explored unlike the other games where it attempts to (but imo fails at)

Just make a sonic adventure remake and train a new team to be able to make these games and understand them. Then make sonic odyssey or whatever the frick they want to call it. You know what I mean. Train a new team first. Then get back to the adventure style. It would sell especially on the switch to nostalgia tards.
