Art direction and the setting, including the "twist", are something unique, game is worth reckoning by that alone. As a game I find it to be fun, so there is that as well

sekiro's execution was kino. elden ring's execution was like frick man we're out of time let's pad this shit out.

Sekiro is also padded, just in a different way. They didn't have enough enemies or minibosses, or even bosses to justify the game's length, so you just fight everything like 5x. literally why both games are garbage.

They didn't reuse any assets for Sekiro and yet it has less filler than the game that rebranded itself twice since Demon's Souls.

          ?
It's loaded with filler. The game is all repeat bosses by the halfway point.

yeah no doubt this is the way miyazaki sees these games. that's why he always says
      >I don't want to keep making dark souls sequels [but I will so I can make the games I want to make]

Why are Sekirogays so desperate to compare Sekiro to games in a different genre?

I keep hearing about fromsoft games there’s always at least one thread up about their shitty janky games so they must be more popular than cod which never gets threads

Or they’re just ceaselessly shilled by a few loud mouthed buttholes trying to get people buy shit game of previous entries.

Fro favs are more annoying than snogs at this point and I wish they’d frick off v is so out of touch

For the last time (again). Sekiro is not a souls-like, but considering what each of them did right, Sekiro is a better game, yeah. In the same sense, Sekiro and Bloodborne are both peak FromSoft, everything else is subpar

Sekiro is the greatest FROMSOFT title period.

Yeah games like DS1 have better exploration and level design or interesting one-off mechanics. But all together Sekiro is their current magnum opus.

Elden Ring was a massive disappointment, the only way it was better than past titles was way more memorable characters and the exploration in early Limgrave was maybe the best of the series.

Sekiro is great, but I'd take any Souls game over it.

Bloodborne is their once-in-a-lifetime achievement. It is absolutely peak soul and the culmination of videogames as a medium. It's the summit, the firmament, the apotheosis, the end of the journey. All other games before and after are simply footnotes. Even on the tiny chance something ever comes along that's better, Bloodborne will be eternally acknowledged as the necessary DNA to that success, much like Bach owes everything to his superior, Vivaldi, or without God there would be no Christ.

Yeah, it has cool enemies and you can actually respond to their autism.
