osrs is ok if you want to space out and chill, but it gets super grindy and autistic later on when skills slow down. rs3 is confusing and i have no idea whats going on.
RS3 if you want to play for the story and get out
OSRS if you want soul/nostalgia
OSRS if you want a long term game and don't mind the grind
OSRS if you want the best community
Ironman is the best way to play in both games by an absurd margin for a long time but don't do it if you care about end game drops and aren't prepared for fricking ridiculous grinds where you might have to clear raids thousands of times and maybe not even get what you want, or at the very least be willing to deiron.
I don't have paper thin feelings so this doesn't bother me, other than the dumb shit like the Ali stuff but I recall everyone having an issue and it not coming to OSRS.

I already played the game. You're just lying.
thank you for telling us that the gays and trannies are living in your head rent free, go shit up another thread

Sell me on Runescape. OSRS or RS3? Ironman or regular account?
OSRS is fun. Like others said in the thread, in the later levels you really feel the grind, but I've come to enjoy the late level content that grinding to those levels provide. Group Ironman has been really fun, it's been a way to get a couple of friends into the game and they've stuck with it since it was introduced. If you have any friends that are interested as well, I suggest you try that. The General Exchange had taken a lot of fun out of the game and Ironman was incredibly refreshing, allowing me to use a lot of content that I originally would have never tried if I hadn't.
tl;dr try OSRS, group iron with friends
OSRS is generally a better game to play even if it's more grindy. RS3 is basically built around microtransactions so playing an ironman is the only way to play it.
OSRS also has a new skill in Sailing coming soon which looks fun.

>pretend to be a newtard just to discuss his game >get mad when called out
You osrsgay are so pathetic. You can't even get a thread rolling without pretending to be a newbie
If you're a first timer, I wouldn't recommend being an ironman just because you'll get burnt out quick. I haven't played RS3 since 2013 so I can't say for that, but OSRS is definitely worth trying out if you're interested. I cannot express this enough: find your own way to play. I think this goes for any game, but as soon as you try and find the fastest way to do stuff (grind to get the best gear asap, max out stats asap, etc.) it completely ruins the experience. Go in completely fresh and I assure you the experience will be so much more fun.
When I first played back in 2007, I looked at other players gear and told myself, "I don't know what that gear is, but I'm gonna get the stats and money to wear it some day" and months later I finally got it. It's a much more satisfying way of playing than going on the wiki, looking up the fastest money making/training methods and trying to full send it into those.
>find your own way to play
I actually take back what I said about doing group iron with friends. This advice is legitimately the best a person could give to someone trying this game.
>playing a click game >think that is any better
No, really. Go find another thread. Your behavior is juvenile and pathetic.
Stopped playing when they added gay shit. A shame since I was getting into group iron but we all stopped playing because of it. Just not worth getting invested into a game when they prioritise that shit over quality especially when the majority were against it.
>you're insecure >paper thin feelings
So you won't mind if they revert pic related? After all, only people who were sensitive would be upset about meanie words in their vidya.
Banter on fishing trawler was 10/10. Reading them while this music was playing was fun as frick. But that's all gone now.
I don't have paper thin feelings so this doesn't bother me, other than the dumb shit like the Ali stuff but I recall everyone having an issue and it not coming to OSRS.

In one year you'll be able to load up private pirated osrs clients filled with playerbots hooked up to chatgpt. You'll be able to do an iron man account with exactly the same experience, if not a better experience
100000000 or 10 players doesn't mean jack shit if you don't interact with them. The biggest fallacy to any mmo claiming bigger pop means its good. You would barely interact with one.
Shit tons of people don't play private servers. With the upcoming ChatGPT update, they can speak indistinguishably from regular humans on osrs. You'll be able to make friends on it and go do questing and other stupid bullshit together and it'll largely be an identical experience to the "ideal" form of the game.
How can anyone think the grand exchange killed the game when it was just jagex reducing the amount of scam bullshit that was going on through sal, tipit, and zybez? They all had equivalent forums that did what the grand exchange did, but with a frick of a lot more scammers. GE was a direct result of that.
OSRS, in fact, saw the EXACT. SAME. THING. Happen, and don't forget how it was polled to be reintroduced 🙂
ge allows mass dumping of item stacks in seconds and allowed hyperefficiency to flourish, additionally decreasing the value of all items and increased the incentive to flip items at tiny margins (to the point where they added tax)
it made gp/hr become the only consideration that matters when attempting to make money, when before it also involved the ease of selling the item, that's why ppl did lobsters, ran law/natures, or picked flax back in the day, not because it made tons but because it sold reliable
i.e. if you did zulrah 10 hours a day for a week, yeah you made 140m (2m/hr atm)... but only if you spent the time to sell all the items at their proper value, without GE, that takes more then a minute, or even a half-hour, it also forces socializing and slows down the pace of the game, which benefits the games longevity

rs3 is fine if you switch to legacy mode and ignore microtransactions

They seem to be working vert hard to make rent.
Did anyone ever make a plugin that undoes all this? It's almost all clientside so it should be possible right?

Neither. Games been dead since 2007.
OSRS was okay for the first half of 2013 before the community ruined it.

It's like a way funnier clown outfit

Was sold until you mentioned bots and chatgpt. Just let me play on private clients with a shitton of people.
100000000 or 10 players doesn't mean jack shit if you don't interact with them. The biggest fallacy to any mmo claiming bigger pop means its good. You would barely interact with one.
You interact with people as an ironman when doing raids, group content like BA or even just social bosses like Todt.

Exactly, frick the GE. Only chads play Ironman.
