It's too furry. Give it a helmet with a visor like a true Sentai helmet

The black part around the eyes is the visor

looks like a mask to me. He doesn't wear a helmet so why would there be a visor?
This pokemon leans more western comic superhero than japanese Sentai tbh

Nothing about the first stage's design really screams "fire type" to me, and the eyes are too small. Love the final stage though.

      anon, it's actually fire/electric.

That's haram. Starters shouldn't have another elemental type as their secondary typing

Well, what else can it have for a secondary type? Fighting?

Normal. Kinda fits the Zero to Hero theme

Kind of bland. Gives me incineroar vibes.
First form needs more thhought, 2nd form feels like a generic dog with a flame puff for a tail.
3rd is just incineroar fricked lycanrock dusk.

If you are going to go bipedal, just go bipedal from the start with the werewolf thing.
Make the first form more goofy.
2nd form should look like a mix of 2nd and 3rd forms.
And replace the third form with something more out there. Maybe a zero to hero style thing, where it's combat form is burning zord armor.

    As it stands it's boxed.

Maybe werewolf is a stretch considering I’m going for Japanese dog breeds mixed with sentai superheroes. But, ok.
Maybe I could’ve gone with a frog/toad for the spot.

        Anonymous

A frog would be an amazing idea for it.
You could end the line with the same idea of a little frog in the mouth of a large pacmanfrog. Megazord style.

Honestly for me it’s mostly your artstyle. It’s very flat even from forward angles and the utter lack of shading makes it unappealing to the eye.

You also need to grow a backbone. You can’t please everyone. Some people like generic coolmons, some people like the ugly scrunkly little frickers. Some like them cute, some like them ugly. Bipedal starters remain extremely popular even when you see terminally online people here or on Reddit decry it’s a furry propaganda dog whistle to groom our children.

Your designs aren’t going to shine until you start giving them the shine they need through your own confidence. There’s nothing wrong with asking for second opinions during development, but you’re caving to every third, fourth, fifth, and even hundreth complaint.

More traditionally it's the kitsune thats more seen in media. Since it often taskes on the humanoid form.
But as for traditional werewolves you got wolf demons etc, or the Guhin which is more a furry than anything else, then the inugami which is someone posessed by the spirit of a dog.

But it's japan, their folklore is little girls in the toilet and a ghost that politely asks you to look at his butthole. Where as the west has skinwalkers and the nuckelavee

Ok homosexual, folklore is split into 4 areas.
            European. Gnomes fae and ghouls
American. Skinwalkers, bigfoot, shit in the woods.
            Japanese. The grudge yokai watch
And the african shit. vampire with really long dick who exists to explain how your wife got pregnant by the local rapist.

You’re either an Amerigay or from a tiny shithole with irrelevant culture if you think you can compare three whole ass continents to one small island you tard

Also the rest of Asia is where?

                >Greek and Roman mythologies omni-present in media
                >Norse mythology bringing dwarves and elves into the public view, with other aspects appearing at a less frequent rate than classical mythology
                >Egyptian mythology
                >The various mythologies of the British Isles bringing a lot of taken for granted fantasy staples into the fold
                >Vampires and other ghouls from various Slavic and Eastern European mythology and literature
                >Modern American folklore that borrows from Native and immigrant cultures but puts new spins on them, with more recent phenomena that is totally unique to the young nation such as moth man or Bigfoot
                >Old Native American stories such as skin walkers and Wendigoes, with their relatives in south and Central America telling tales such as the chupacabra
And those are just some of the ones that are more common than Japanese mythology in pop culture. Just because you expose yourself to Japanese media doesn’t mean Japanese mythology is comparable to three whole ass continents of culture or even the rest of Asia.
