Yeah, except it was a re-remake of Kanto in between a remake of Hoenn and sinnoh, just as they made Hoenn and Sinnoh and spat out a Kanto remake.
It's been 12 years sinc ethe last time they went to Johto, in 2018, it was 14 since we'd last seen actual Kanto. We're going to Johto before Gen's end and if I had to bet money, it would be an "enhanced" version on Switch 2, to start getting poképlayers to think about buying a new Switch for Gen 10, like LGPE launched on Switch to get people buying in preparation for 2019.
