Is it any good? I don't have enough time to sink into a game and discover it's shit.

It's a wargame + fallout/dune + 4x. If you like all of those, it is good. If you don't like those, it is bad.
You can also play it as a moronic post apoc simcity too
>always surrounded by religious fanatics
Just like real life.
Why is it so difficult for a space 4X game to have an in-between of planetary combat that isn't autistic spreadsheet simulationism, and it's not poop-brained "bigger number wins" simplicity?
It's so depressing.
I just want to find a good strategy game that isn't "complex" due to moronic mechanics or UI.
>good strategy game
>not complex
pick one moron
Man I love Shadow Empire but the card system and the fact the AI doesn't play by the same rules fundamentally kneecaps it
I'm looking forward to the simplified logistics rules option that the AI will also be able to use
its not that it even complex(whatever it mean), its just bloated
and yes some of the best strategy games are relatively simple
Agree, it never felt complex to me. Just really slow to actually get into before it got boring.
i think one of the worst thing is planet generation, in plenty of rolls you get most boring campaign possible, plenty of times they are one sided and when you actually see a enemy its over
Paradrones need to go back
>muh paradrones
The reason the word "complex" was in the quotation marks is implying that that anon doesn't think just making UI shit and adding more numbers creates satisfying strategic complexity. It's really ironic for you to call him a moron while failing to understand the point being made.
I do love it when /vst/ elitists reveal their brainlet level though.
Apparently it's very very good for its niche, but honest to God it's the worst UI I've ever come across
Artwork is terrible and the sound effects seem to be ripped off a civ 2 scenario. It might be enjoyable for someone who doesn’t have to work for a living.
Any suggestions for a strategy game?
How about a nice game of chess?
AI War: Fleet Command
>implying I don't read the Shadow Empire manual at work
The artwork has soul
>not using the mod for AI generated art on vidscreens
>shadow strategem card
>beta for new character art
lrn2art
>>beta for new character art
they look somewhat more souless than old
>enjoy shadow empire
>decide to try out decisive campaigns
honestly, way more stressful with time limits
it has many homosexual and transexual undertones, it's obvious that the dev is full bore globohomo. Apart from that it's decent. I'm waiting for a proper dune mod
>it has many homosexual and transexual undertones
proofs?
pics of the new ones?
>Is it any good?
idea is great and when you start playing it look like deep solid game b ut more you play and more you know how things work then you see that its deigned badly with many the most moronic made systems, extra bloat that make game worse and over all its piece of shit
still it can be addictive sometimes when its not total bore, kind of like paradox games but less polished
I played it few months ago
While i enjoyed premise, a lot of mechanics and the way you can customise world ultimately i found it boring
Water, food and everything in this game will only concern you for a few initial turns and then you're left with building logistics and army nonstop
Everything in this game is made with design of you blobbing nonstop, so if you don't like that then don't bother
its essentially a Empire but with extra bloat and dumb redundant systems added
It's fun to build cities
Can I just be an autist and play this like sim city/transport tycoon?
its a war game
Not really
