Where the frick is it? Are they having dev problems? It better be equivalent to Liurnia + Caelid + Limgrave in size with multiple legacy dungeons.

They're following their usual release schedule. It will come out in March 2024. Expect gameplay trailer at TGAs.
its taking forever, so it must be huge. expectations are high
they wont let us down
>it better be bloated as frick and make the game even more miserable to play
no im good thanks
noone cares what you think chud.
noone cares what you think troony.
I don't want to play this game anymore tbh, it's boring to jump back into, world was ugly enough at release, now it's just sad.
troony got filtered even before the release.
LMAO kys homosexual
Body A
This
After playing Armored Core 6 I don't want to play souls-like anymore, mechas is better
trying to rehash as much as they can
gonna take some time
I hope it's actually not new areas as much as a rework of the world. Like after achieving an ending you can either start a new game or proceed to NG+ in the 'new', reworked map.
If it's going to literally just be 'ok here's some new areas' i unironically think the game will be too big.
It won't be too big, it'll be a dream world.
I really doubt they would make a NG+ DLC, and there's no way they would rework their entire optimization scheme to fit a whole new region into the base game's map.
You will just interact with Miquella's egg and load into a DLC map.
>You will just interact with Miquella's egg and load into a DLC map.
Certanly, they'll do it that way
But imagine a pain from making Mohg fight a mandatory to access dlc... bruh
It'd only be painful when you get summoned for the fight, but your Physick doesn't have the purifying tear.
>I hope it's actually not new areas as much as a rework of the world.
I wish for more meaningful NG+es in Souls games as much as the next anon. But this was NEVER going to work. That's just not how From does things, and the sheer scale of the base game would make any serious changes to the overworld too taxing for the dev team. It's evident that they have that idea of phasing the game world through different stages depending on the story progress and other things, like the dragon eclipse thing in DS3, and the giant statue heads in ER. But ultimately they always scrap the idea and just go with the cosmetic changes, i.e. skybox. And I doubt they can, or even would think of trying to cram the feature into a DLC, when they couldn't implement it in the base game in the first place.
Vaporware
It will almost certainly be larger than previous DLCs. How large is anyone's guess.
My guess is 1 main region, 1 smaller underground region, 2 legacy dungeons, and some mini-dungeons.
I would be satisfied with this and a bunch of new weapons/spells/arts. But with how long it's taking, I'm expecting a bit bigger than that
Even though I wasn't that big on Elden Ring I might have played the dlc if it was released in the same year. Two years later though, nah im good.
It's been cancelled.
I know you're there samegay. You can't just rely on multiple IPs, you have to actually put effort into distinguishing your posts.
Wtf are you talking about schizo this is my first post in literal weeks
I'm hoping for a whole new region and a legacy dungeon.
I recently got around to playing Dark Souls 3 for the first time, plus DLC, and the DLC for that was pretty disappointing. The painted world was one small area and two annoying bosses. I got this and ringed city for free with my copy, but imagine paying $20 for that back on release. I hope the Elden Ring DLC will actually be more than that.
Also that it's closer to something like Liurnia and less like the mountains. I'm going to be pissed if it's big and empty like the mountains, that place plays exactly like how the shitposters imagine the rest of the game to.
DS3 DLCs (if you combie both) are the best in the series though, together with The Old Hunters (which was initially supposed to be two DLCs as well). FromSoft's DLCs have yet to disappoint. They never do simple cashgrab DLCs, they always deliver great content.
Painted world was shitty. You're only remembering it fondly because of the Friede fight. Otherwise it's just a jog through the woods and cliffs while an army of guards and wolves rush you.
Nah, it was good. That rotten Corvian Settlement was the shit. I love that diseased village trope, I liked Ariandel, and I liked the Fishing Hamlet.
Well I just finished it and strongly disagree. I don't mind it as part of the GOTY edition, but I'd be genuinely pissed if I paid extra for that.
The problem was the Gravetender was a shit boss with a normal enemy you probably weakened already going in.
i lost my save file. should i start a new game and play through now, or wait for dlc
basically if dlc will have new weps in the original map, then i'll wait i guess
>i lost my save file
Literally HOW? It should be in the Steam cloud.
>should i start a new game and play through now, or wait for dlc
Knowing From the DLC is going to be an endgame area, so it's better to get through the base game to level up first.
>shadow of the erdtree is actually a level 50 area
kek, can you imagine the shitstorm
What shitstorm? People would just make new characters for it.
The anons who would scream about it are likely the ones who'd be doing it anyway because their TORtanic attempt has been an utter failure and the terminally online know only doubling down.
i mean, i want some new challenges. some mid game bosses would be pretty bad
Well I wouldn't worry, all the DLC so far for their other games is all about the overtuned super bosses.
After Malenia I'm kind of afraid to see what they'll be doing next. I'd put money on the DLC having an Evergael with a familiar looking boss called Mannia or something though.
There’s like a 50% chance we fight young Malenia in the past so Miyazaki can show her bare feet like he wanted to originally.
Unlikely, but in that case you can just quickly run to NG+ or beyond and tackle it with your NG character. I myself am gonna play the DLC on NG+2/3.
i don't pay for video games and i nuked my old linux install for nix os but ssd stopped being recognized even in bios
Weren't they waiting for AC6 release to start development? It's only been two months.
There’s no way, we can’t wait another year and a half for this
Nope, they stated on a interview they started working on the dlc as soon as the main game came out but with a smaller team. Now that AC6 is out, every dev is working full time on the ER
expansion/dlc
They didn’t start on it until that announcement that’s why.
I really thought it would be at tgs with a November announcement but I guess not. Itll be at TGAs woth a march release date… two fricking years for a dlc.
Remember when the Old Hunters came out like half a year after Bloodborne and was the best expansion ever?
>TGS
It's fricking dead, m8. Japs haven't been doing reveals there in ages.
There hasn’t been a single great announcement from that show in like FIVE years. Sony gets all the good ones close to then.
Based on one of the employee's Linkedln account, the DLC has started development since April last year.
>Implying it won't have an Eclipse mechanic applying to vanilla game buffing the base game for extra rewards and spawning extra enemies in the whole game spirit form for when you are not being invaded or invading
>Implying it won't have 4 extra legacy dungeons the size of Leyndell
>Implying it won't have 17th century firearms with bayonets with melee heavy attack and weapon skills but projectiles having jar cannon waiting times
>Implying it won't turn Elden Ring from 10/10 to 200/10
>implying it wont be mediocre garbage
Nioh already did your first suggestion although it’s a separate mission
probably going to be turned into ER2, released in 2025 or 2026, and still have assloads of jank and cut content
>cut content
you mean flavorful and mysterious lore bits
is "coherent storytelling" ever a planned feature for a fromsoft game?
no, but incoherent storytelling is.
It's probably going to be an expansion-tier DLC. Wasn't there some datamined thing a while back about mentions, or hashtags in the game for something like 35 new bosses?
If this is a $30-$40 DLC, and Elden Ring itself already has I think 150 bosses, that feels about right.
>video game expansion is going to be expansion-tier in size
>35 new bosses
But how much of them would be unique not rehashed but it's two of them now
Fallingstar Beast (Blue)
I can already see that these 35 bosses will be 5 actually but repeated 7 times each
I will kill myself if this is true and the sole "unique" boss is Godward the Grafted
Armored Core just came out. It would be silly to undermine their own game.
Shadow of the Erdtree might as well be complete and ready for release, but they would never release it so close to another of their games. It'll probably come in December or early 24.
Game Awards. Give AC6 some time to breathe, and get the same event where the big ER blowout happened.
AC6 is already dead, it was always going to be a niche game for turbonerds and had more time in the sun than it deserved
I finished AC6 in the space of two weeks with all three endings, and I've got to somewhat agree. I never really got into it the same way I got into Souls games, it was fun but was missing that spark that would have made it special.
Considering they publish through Bamco, and what Bamco said about wanting to capitalize on ER's success, and Bamco's practices in general, I wouldn't be surprised if it gets reworked into a full on sequel or a massive SotFS style re-release kind of DLC update.
So, Souls games (and many other vidya) often use the DLC as a chance to restore some of the previously cut content. And with SotE seemingly focusing on Miquella, that corroborates the datamines. But apart from just the cut questline, have there been any traces of "proper" content being cut? Like whole areas, dungeons, etc? Where will the DLC take place? Is it going to add some new and "real" locations to the game world, or will it be a dream/nightmare-like version of familiar locations?
Well. There's that giant foggy area in the middle of the map you never uncover.
They cut an entire questline, npc and game mechanic (!) Involving stealing dreams very close to release
They will be in one way or another repurposed for the DLC
I mean quests, NPCs and mechanics is just things you put into the levels. I was talking about cut areas, dungeons, maps.
Re-reveal at TGA and launches in march. Mark my words
I thought a leaker had said the idea was to release this shit before end of year. But if that were true it seems like they would have started marketing it by now, so I guess not. It's a shame because I was really hoping to get some time to play over the holidays
it won't be better than bloodborne so who cares
You, apparently. Why else would you make such an attention-seeking post? Not that I'm giving you the (you) you're fishing for.
The Elden Ring map is plagiarized from Immortals: Fenix Rising.
Like, it really is.
post proof
Mars's realm is Caelid, Athena's "academy" is Raya Lucaria.
Starting zone is Weeping Peninsula.
Literally share a mountaintop of the giants.
Hephesteus realm is fall biome.
>google it
>it's exactly the same
There's a Liurnian lakelands between Athena and Aphrodite's realm.
Athena has an "Academy".
I honestly think they used this map as a starting point since Japanese basically don't know what to do ever except copy.
But, then they autist'ed out and made it their own.
Thank you anon, I have been the only Black person to realize this.
>it's exactly the same
lolwut
same
The connections don't really work when you look at the original concept art for the Land Between though
Don't be autistic.
The Immortals map is easily transposed into the other map.
'easily' involving olympic-gold mental gymnastics
>south of the map is green map with ruins and stuff
>north west of the map is a green map with a lake and a magic school
>west is the red map with lots of soldiers and war and stuff
>north east of the map is a yellow plateau
>north of the map is Iceland
How are they not the same?
>north of the map is iceland
It's snow and MOUNTAIN tops with GIANTS who are frozen and dead.
And there's a volcano zone.
anon your directional sense...
>>west is the red map with lots of soldiers and war and stuff
Whoops meant east
OH NO NO NO NO ELDEN/V/ROS WHAT ARE WE GONNA DO? THEY LITERALLY HECKING RIPPED OFF Immortals: Fenix Rising!
IS FROM SOFTWARE A HACK??
see
>Multiple legacy dungeon
I hope the game is just 4 legacy dungeons all interconnected.
Yes I want das1, frick that dogshit boring open world slip you clowns call content.
I wouldnt complain about this either, i think both are fun for different reasons. Id prolly prefer it. But we both know thats not what theyre gonna do
>I hope the game is just 4 legacy dungeons all interconnected. Yes I want das1
we are never getting that again thanks to ER's success
Lads why do the rancorcall spells do no damage? If Shadow of the Erdtree is about Godwyn and Miquella it better boost the shit out of INT/FAI builds.
Because if something is done well in a prior game (Dark souls 2 dark magic was pure kino) they have to randomly frick with it in the next (ds3 is still kino but you only get any dark spells like 50% of the way through the game and your build only fully comes together at the very end)
So that's 2 games with good or decent dark magic so elden ring has to make sure it's shit until 80 faith and 80 int where it instead matches 50% of the damage of a regular sorcery with that same build
>Both rancors suck
>Tibia's summons sucks
>Fia's mist sucks and you can't even get it until halfway into the game
>Explosive ghostflame is unbearably slow to cast and at the very end of the game
>Prince of Death staff halfway into the game
The gelmir sorceries are marginally better but the staff is pure bladestone levels of bad grinding and both it and Gelmir's fury are halfway into the game.
That would be a lot just for a DLC. I bet it'll just be like a Liurnia sized area, maybe with a Haligtree sized one with it.
dear miyazaki please make enemies and the bosses vulnerable to holy, especially the final bosses. they finally get faith builds the coolest and most varied they've ever been then had most of the bosses resist holy.
But at least I have my lightning pyromancy and rocks scaling with faith, But sometimes I want to throw light at people
