Make sure to pick up the staff of arcane blessing in Act 1. If you just want her to cast bless consider picking up resilient (con) or war caster at level 4 so she doesn't drop concentration when she takes damage.
If you truly want to make her stick to bless and bless only, then respec to make her start with Sorceror, take 1 level in Cleric so that you get Bless and a heavy armor domain, and the rest in Sorceror. Pump your Cha and Con high, Dex next highest so she can buff before your other people go.
You'll get Constitution saving throws, metamagic that lets you double the length of Bless, sorcery points to convert into spell slots for more Bless, and some decent blasting spells from the back to do.
can she also cast haste this way eventually ?

There is good multiclassing. Cleric paladin is dumb but Thief + Fighter can be really good or Thief Barbarian. I made a Warlock/Paladin that gets 3 attacks per action point with Pact Bound Blade. So 6 attacks per turn with Haste, 8 once you get the Gold Rapier in Act 3.

You don't need to bench her. Separate her from the group and make her sit in the another room or at the distance. If they don't hear the dialogue they won't have an opinion on it.
When Astarion did the knife thing to me and I shittalked him, Shadowheart disapproved. That's when i knew she was this game's Kreia.
I think that may be related to her willingness to die for her mission. So you willing to die to avoid being overtaken by a being that is not their deity would be seen as a good thing.

NTA, but probably not. Tempest cleric fricking rules
Tempest is better for some burst spell damage mainly with other spellcasters and if you have them frontline tanking for repeated reaction damage.
War is better when you want to mix it with something that does Attacks, since you get a way to do some bonus action attacks or huge accuracy boosts on top of cleric spellcasting and heavy armor. I think it'd be real good on a pact of the blade Warlock, they'd like every one of those.
Yeah, you could even use metamagic to twin it to apply Haste to two people at the same time. Sorceror's one of the best buffing classes as long as you get armor on them, since they can do stuff like that and have Con saves.

I'd say Tempest is second best. Really the only thing Tempest cleric does is it maximizes its relevant spell damage using its channel divinity, which is cool, but it lacks spells that would push it into being amazing like Lightning Bolt.
War Cleric does a lot of work to increase the value of your action economy. First of which is you pretty much get a diet version of extra attack at level 1 which is a huge deal for level 1-3 gameplay and you get an on reaction +10 to any attack roll (weapon or spell attack) allowing you to abuse guiding bolt and inflict wounds. You get a spiritual weapon which is a non-concentration bonus action spell that just adds an extra body on the field to your party.
Guaranteed damage is a really big deal in 5e, it's why GWM/Sharpshooter builds are so strong, and Tempest has value, but not as much value as War Cleric

I thought for sure it was gonna be the Elder Brain talking to you or some other Mind Flayer hive mind thing. Kinda disappointment when it was a "Nice" mindflayer.
It's legitimately one of the most dick moves I've ever seen in an RPG campaign. Not the twist itself, but specifically making the player create an NPC that exists SOLELY based on the player's taste in waifus. If you were to do this same shit in a real TTRPG campaign, you could at least have the player create a real character, with a personality, a connection to their PC, and a fricking name at least. So that when the DM reveals they're used to hook you into a later plot or reveal, it actually has impact.
But in this game, you can't do that. You just choose their appearance, you don't know anything about them, you don't know who they are or why they exist, they have no inherent connection to your PC or their story. So instead of being an impactful twist that really pulls the rug out from under you by changing the context of a character you know well and/or care about, it's just "LOL THIS WAIFU YOU MADE THAT YOU WANT TO FRICK ACTUALLY DOESN'T EXIST LOL." But like, b***h I don't even know their fricking name.
Yeah it would have been better if like Shadowheart turned out to be a mindflayer all along, since she had the Artifact originally and seemed to know a bit about it.
