You also had to go through an entire Sky island platforming section first.
I accidentally stumbled upon the end of that island by randomly dropping in with the glider, I had no idea what the frick I was doing and then randomly got Mineru's vow, it was really anticlimactic and I wished they had properly sealed the place so you can't sequence break accidentally. It fricking breaks the final section of the game plotwise.
I akshually liked that you could do things out of order but yeah the npcs being stuck in their routine because the script didn't get activated was one of the worst parts of the game

it's the big quest that starts at Kakariko with the ring ruins, enjoy all NPCs pretending you never discovered it for 2-3 hours as you make your way there

I think TotK Spirit Temple might qualify as the worst 3D Zelda dungeon, if not the worst overall

The Zonai are a race of mecha nuts, and Mineru is THE mecha nut. In life she would rather starve herself than stop working on constructs. The Ancient Hero also lead an army of them against the first Calamity Ganon.

We don't really know what happened to the Zonai, and whether their disappearance was entirely involuntary. I did find Ganondorf's tone while he was cheekily bemoaning the Zonai's extinction to be very suspicious, although most people watching that cutscene tend to focus on his remark over Rauru and Sonia's interspecies rulership.
I think he was just mocking them while throwing exposition, not implying he had anything to do with it. You give TotK Dorf too much credit, he's one of the most unga bunga dorfs of the series, even moreso than Demise.
