I want to talk about Horizon because I really like the series. But whenever I make a normal thread it reaches to page 10 at the speed of light. Only way to have actual discussions about this game is with bait threads.
The gameplay never evolves. Horizon has so much potential if they allowed you to have builds. Like a technomancer build, or an energy weapons build, or a melee axe build or something. But Aloy just uses her bow and her traps for the most part and that's it. It gets stale. For example, I would not play Monster Hunter if it only allowed me to use bows. I'd think it was a game that got boring after 10 hours.

-Combat is unique, it's nothing like anything else in the market. Not even Monster Hunter's ranged weapons plays like Horizon, also in MonHun you fight 4/1v1 rather than 1v1/4.
-Controls are extremely tight. Next to no input lag. You would expect a game with hyper realistic graphics to have sluggish controls because of le realism but they went the opposite. It feels more like controlling Bayonetta than Arthur Morgan.
-World is surprisingly thought out well. Many different tribes and their cultures shows themselves in architecture, their appearance and even in side activities. Not a single Oseram is lean for example because they are all beer chuggers.
-Open world is well designed and Aloy has the running speed of a horse, it's extremely easy to traverse long distances compared to let's say AC Odyssey or RDR2 which forces you to watch empty wasteland while auto riding a horse
-Fundamentals of shooting gameplay makes every encounter fresh. Games like CoD can afford to have 2 enemy types for 6 hour campaigns. Horizon has like 50 enemy types for 50 hours long campaign.
-Music is pretty good. Every machine has their own battle theme too.
What armor set makes Aloy barefoot?

You are allowed to have builds though. Even once you get to have limited legendary gear pool no 2 player has same weapon wheel. I never use blastslings for example. I just don't find them fun. Someone might not find javelins fun etc.
