Yes. What the frick are you on about?
You can't investigate X. You investigate, which is creating a clue. This is actually better worded then pic related. It should simply be "Cascade four times".
X is only used when there's a number associated, like discover. When you discover X you reveal cards from the deck until a card with mana value X is revelead.
It doesn't. You repeat the investigate action X times. There's no investigate X. If there was, you would, in one action, create X clues. This distinction is important for replacement effects.
Cascade is separated because each instance of Cascade causes another effects to enter the stack for each new spell cascaded.
It's the same with proliferate, for example.
Investigate can create an X amount of clues at the same time, no issue with different triggers and the stack.

No ESL dumbasses. You investigate once for each time Piper attacks and successfully damages the opponent's life. If she had 2/2, she would still only investigate once since it's one per attack. You get more investigations only if she is allowed to attack more than once in combat.
Holy shit edhbabies are moronic. It's for how much combat damage she deals. Hence the fact she can buff herself with the clue sacrifices and being in a proliferate deck. Quit acting like a smug homosexual when you clearly have zero clue what you're talking about. Otherwise the card would say "whenever piper deals combat damage, you create a clue token). moronic homosexual
More ESL idiots. There is nothing on the card that suggests you should investigate based on the amount of damage dealt.
I literally just posted a card that investigates when it deals combat damage to a player.
So you, a supposed master of english, must now tell me why "that many times" was printed upon Piper.
Are you claiming that the gender studies dropout idiots that make these cards are masters of english and are in any way consistent in their terminology? As it's written (terribly), the card states that investigations should be made once per successful attack on the opponent. Any claim that it's actually referring to damage is headcanon.
>that many times
Are you moronic or just dumb? If we go off of your asinine moron goofball logic then that line would be entirely redundant. It wouldn't even be on the card. >but but it's about extra combats
In a deck without red? No you moronic homosexual homo. Its about buffing herself and proliferating with the other cards in the decks to make more clues. Kys and do it quickly.
And just how do you suppose "that many times" refers to the amount of damage dealt?

Yes. I am claiming that.

Do you believe everything you read is perfect english if it's older than you are or something?
>it's for how much combat damage she deals
Then the card would say "investigate X times equal to the amount of damage dealt by this card", or "equal to Piper Wright's power"
Instead the card seems to imply the number of investigates is based on the number of times she deals combat damage to a player, which would be one unless she gets to attack extra times.
It's stupidly worded, Magic is stupid, frick you.

You gays have misused "ESL" to the point it has no meaning anymore. Same as woke or chud, all nothingburger words because people can't help themselves.
Doesn't matter really, does it? As long as they reference the OGs I'm happy. We didn't even think they'd reference NV let alone anything non Bethesdaslop

Right?
I have counted all the references in the cards to figure out how many times each game is referenced
>General Fallout gameplay and lore that was introduced in Fallout 1
Countless references, too many to count >Characters, areas, events and creatures first shown in Fallout 1
12 >Character first shown in Fallout 1, but the card is based around Project V3
1, pic related >Characters, areas, events and creatures first shown in Fallout 2
3 >Fallout 3 + DLC references
30 >Fallout New Vegas + DLC references
33 >Fallout 4 + DLC references
30 >Fallout 76 + DLC references
15
There are two cards that I have not been able to examine yet. They are "Marshal Anthem" and the untranslated "Fraying Sanity", but I believe they are both in the "General Fallout" category.
it depends on wtf are you even using as a criteria. Fraying Sanity is a normal MTG card and the art is just generic vault suit guy, Marshal Anthem is also a generic reprint with the art of railroad saving synths
>Marshal Anthem is also a generic reprint with the art of railroad saving synths
Right, that's a Fallout 4 reference, then.
I was just waiting for the flavor text to confirm for sure.
NTA but the master, harold, enclave oil rig, frank horrigan, aradesh, master making mutants, FO1 vault suit being worshiped, the master temple, ian, FO1 MC leaving, junktown
no idea how how got so many
>actually decent design space is relegated to universes beyondslop so they can sell >UB sets are also pushed to sell >the actual in universe shit is bottom of the barrel garbage because who cares about mtg in mtg lol?
tha absolute state of this game lmao
its 2024, collabs with popular IPs are the only thing that sell nowadays. Everyone hates star wars now but I bet if they did a star wars set people would eat that shit up. Marvel set will prove this
That one on the right looks really good, damn.
I'm still mad how shit the LOTR lands were.
I hope they fired whoever designed these back in December with the layoffs.
Yes, but those are the only full arts, unless you could the secret lair which is fricking $5 a land.
The non full arts mostly look like generic slop that could be anywhere, minus the single shire plains.
I can only assume you're being intentionally obtuse at this point just to stir shit.
The "map" lands are very lazy and look like an intern crapped them out, the non full arts look like they just unused art they had lying around.
Why weren't my full art lands shit like this?
The one on the left is Sanctuary from Fallout 4, dipshit. That full-art cycle is about Nora going through the events of the game and ending with her returning home. Harold is his own card.
The right lands are isometric but they chose Fallout 76 locations because NEW THING GOOD OLD THING BAD.
>take a great card game with mostly weak lore and add IPs with fantastic worlds and lore into it
It's no wonder the Lord of the Rings set sold so well. Tolkiens world mogs the ever living frick out of anything Wizards has ever done. Especially post Yawgmoth/Urza timeline.
someone told me some rrat that the gathering part of mtg originally implied it would be a gathering of different IPs but they couldn't support it until now
It's so weird MTG went years refusing to even do a D&D crossover even though both were WOTC properties, then all of a sudden just opened the floodgates to anything, 40k was weird enough but now fallout? Next has to be FromSoft stuff surely.
The module lands were 10/10. They were not only really good looking, but the module numbers up the top actually continued on from the last released modules of those types.
Next is Final Fantasy. Then we can do more tomfoolery.
Don't forget that they announced Marvel and Ass Creed as well
>Final Fantasy will be in Arena >Final Fantasy battlefield >Final Fantasy avatars >Maybe Final Fantasy music?
It will be the first non-standard set I spend gold and gems on to draft, unless it just ends up being mercilessly shit.
Next is Assassin's Creed and then Final Fantasy. Marvel is also confirmed
i c. That said,
>Transformers >Street Fighter >Stranger things >Princess Bride??? >FRICKING CREEPSHOW?!?!?!?!
I had no idea about any of these or that they'd done so frickin' many, my local just has the 40k, Doctor who and D&D ones on-shelf.
>then all of a sudden just opened the floodgates to anything
Hasbro made them. You think its a coincidence we got murders at karlov manor (with a clue universes beyond thing) on clues anniversary?
hasbro is going under and the only thing keeping it afloat are these sets
>Hasbro going under
How is it even possible for something as big as Hasbro to face financial trouble lmao.
>I had no idea about any of these or that they'd done so frickin' many, my local just has the 40k, Doctor who and D&D ones on-shelf.
They were 90% secret lair (Limited time sales from one website, with the second-hand market being full of scalpe... I mean MTG investors) and 10% 'booster fun' (bonus cards in certain packs for specific sets. Like the Godzilla in Ikoria and the Jurassic Park/World cards being in the new Ixalan set)
>How is it even possible for something as big as Hasbro to face financial trouble lmao.
Hasbro went into deep debt to buy eOne to SUPERCHARGE all their properties. Surprise surprise, eOne is shit and actively harmed everything they worked on. They sold it off for pennies on the dollar just to get rid of them. Now they're in a bad position AND have all that debt that didn't amount to anything.
Those are far more limited. The creepshow ones are also just reprints of zombie cards but with special looks. Zombie Master is like, an original MTG set card. All the princess bride cards were "reskins" meaning they are pre-existing cards but with a new name slapped on it and under it, it tells you what the actual card name is. Most don't mind this.
Everything you listed though was like 5-10 cards in a very limited time product you could only get from their website. Only Transformers was more than that, and even that was just like 15ish cards that were in a special booster slot, and not its own thing.
The stranger things and SF cards also now have "in universe" versions if you're autistic and would rather play AIESHA OF NEWPORTS N RIZZ over Ken, Burning Brawler
>then all of a sudden just opened the floodgates to anything
Hasbro made them. You think its a coincidence we got murders at karlov manor (with a clue universes beyond thing) on clues anniversary?
5 of them total. Out of....how many cards? 300+
GThere was no clue set. They saw that WOTC was making a murder mystery set and decided trying to use a big brand to help their failing board game sales was a good idea. No sane person thought a dead boardgame would sell magic product.
Crossovers are the official we're out of ideas flag, for both properties involved. Afterwards it's about shaking as much money out of the zombies pockets as you can before it crumples under its own weight.
Financially, the game is doing great. I'd say mechanically, the game is doing great (as long as you play Commander).
Even if Hasbro shuttered tomorrow, Magic would live on. Custom cards, proxies, etc. Its a timeless game that was built to scale.
I played more than standard but even that's beside the point.
EDH design isn't even good for EDH itself because now everything does at least 2, sometimes 3 things. Are you honestly happy with shit like deflecting swat and the other series of commander free spells? Are you happy with 35 new commanders releasing every single set? Are you happy with the blatant power and rate creep?

There isn't any issue here.
Pretty terrible to focus on dice alone. Even if you're using D20s to get even more robots, you're better served focusing on a treasure angle to aim for a Revel in Riches win.
power creep.
Blame the school of design that led to Horizons Block Constructed. Modern Horizons 1&2 introduced MASSIVE amounts of power creep that every eternal format is struggling to adjust to
out of curiosity is there any "collab" card that is pr was top tier? I feel collabs happen often but whenever I see a magic thread it is just people shitting on them.

Why are new cards worded like ass
Yes
It wouldn't seem foreign if you aren't an ESL.
Yes. What the frick are you on about?
You can't investigate X. You investigate, which is creating a clue. This is actually better worded then pic related. It should simply be "Cascade four times".

There are two cards that I have not been able to examine yet. They are "Marshal Anthem" and the untranslated "Fraying Sanity", but I believe they are both in the "General Fallout" category.
TL;DR: Fallout 1 and New Vegas won
it depends on wtf are you even using as a criteria.
I was just waiting for the flavor text to confirm for sure.
flavor text is in italics, it has no flavor
Got it, the only one I saw was the Extended Art, which never have flavor text. That leaves Fraying Sanity, then.
There's one I'm missing right now that I don't remember where I found, but here's all but one of the ones I found
flamer is not a fallout 1 or 2 reference, and you forgot the enclave oil rig blowing up and the mantle
Can you show all the 1 and 2 references? I don't care about the new slop.
NTA but the master, harold, enclave oil rig, frank horrigan, aradesh, master making mutants, FO1 vault suit being worshiped, the master temple, ian, FO1 MC leaving, junktown
no idea how how got so many
they're in
Lot of cards that look like they would be fun in limited but look like they will never see any play in constructed.
They're Commander exclusive cards, only usable in Commander, kitchen table, Vintage or Legacy.
The closest you'll get to Limited with them is Cube.
They give reminder text for menace but not finality?
ran out of space
>Enchantment
>not a battle
Kek this game is such a shitshow now

Hello. My name is Inigo Montoya. You doom bladed my 1/1 Human Token. Prepare to take combat damage.
she is fricking in
Go back to /tg/ to chill your political indoctrination tool that pretends to be a card game
No one cares about your politics obsession, American.
AND ONE MORE FOR THE ROAD
I cant believe people still defend FromSlop
>actually decent design space is relegated to universes beyondslop so they can sell
>UB sets are also pushed to sell
>the actual in universe shit is bottom of the barrel garbage because who cares about mtg in mtg lol?
tha absolute state of this game lmao
It is literally the cardboard version of Fortnite.
ok so you'd rather the universes stuff be shit AND regular planes be shit?
This set feels like they spent a good amount of thought on the mechanics and on the fanservice (notable characters, moments, even memes)
if the rest are of this quality, the final fantasy set is going to slap
>least disengenuous wotc shill
Karlov Manor is a good draft set, though
its 2024, collabs with popular IPs are the only thing that sell nowadays. Everyone hates star wars now but I bet if they did a star wars set people would eat that shit up. Marvel set will prove this
>two forest card
>Harold got a reference
That one on the right looks really good, damn.
I'm still mad how shit the LOTR lands were.
I hope they fired whoever designed these back in December with the layoffs.
There's more lands than that in the LOTR set.
Yes, but those are the only full arts, unless you could the secret lair which is fricking $5 a land.
The non full arts mostly look like generic slop that could be anywhere, minus the single shire plains.
>he doesn't know Middle Earth is literally our planet
I can only assume you're being intentionally obtuse at this point just to stir shit.
The "map" lands are very lazy and look like an intern crapped them out, the non full arts look like they just unused art they had lying around.
Why weren't my full art lands shit like this?
>swamp
>mordor
The one on the left is a reference to Harold, a super mutant who became infected with a GELK in Fallout 1 and 2 and became a tree in Fallout 3
It look really similar to the forest town in Fallout 3.
Hey at least Harold got his own card. Shame they didnt make it a reprint of Dryad Arbor
>Shame they didnt make it a reprint of Dryad Arbor
Fallout already got a Fortification. It would be too much if they made a Land Creature as well.
see pic
what is the mountain supposed to be? I dont remember this place, nuka world?
Yep. The island is Far Habor as well I believe.
Libertalia, it's the first mission the Institute sends you on
>nuka world
Yep.
>you can't stop the press
>1/2 that has to attack face to be useful
>can be blocked and killed by the most basic creatures
What did they mean by this?
So is this like the Fortnite of card games?
Yes.
No, because Fortnite doesn't try to adhere to any lore or logic at all. It's basically just skins.
is this fallout shit a set or just a collection of EDH precons?
Latter
The actual Universes Beyond set is Final Fantasy, coming next year. For Arena too.
Can't wait for all the wacky shit that will have.
I still can't believe that EDH players will destroy all the rules of the game but have an aneurism if someone plays a Universes Beyong card.
Spoiled children usually throw the biggest fits.
isnt universe beyond legal on EDH?
>e but have an aneurism if someone plays a Universes Beyong card.
/edhg/ spergs are not the average playerbase. Many players like the UB stuff
>take a great card game with mostly weak lore and add IPs with fantastic worlds and lore into it
It's no wonder the Lord of the Rings set sold so well. Tolkiens world mogs the ever living frick out of anything Wizards has ever done. Especially post Yawgmoth/Urza timeline.
someone told me some rrat that the gathering part of mtg originally implied it would be a gathering of different IPs but they couldn't support it until now
Magic Arena is the video game I have the most hours in the past 4 years
I will never play Memeander in my life
I barely play Brawl as is
It's so weird MTG went years refusing to even do a D&D crossover even though both were WOTC properties, then all of a sudden just opened the floodgates to anything, 40k was weird enough but now fallout? Next has to be FromSoft stuff surely.
hasbro is going under and the only thing keeping it afloat are these sets
We got two DnD sets anon
Yeah, but he has a point. They went for years without wanting to do it.
Hasbro is real desperate now, though. WotC are one of their few cash cows as long as they keep milking MTG for all its worth and more.
The module lands were 10/10. They were not only really good looking, but the module numbers up the top actually continued on from the last released modules of those types.
Don't forget that they announced Marvel and Ass Creed as well
Next is Final Fantasy. Then we can do more tomfoolery.
>Final Fantasy will be in Arena
>Final Fantasy battlefield
>Final Fantasy avatars
>Maybe Final Fantasy music?
It will be the first non-standard set I spend gold and gems on to draft, unless it just ends up being mercilessly shit.
i c. That said,
>Transformers
>Street Fighter
>Stranger things
>Princess Bride???
>FRICKING CREEPSHOW?!?!?!?!
I had no idea about any of these or that they'd done so frickin' many, my local just has the 40k, Doctor who and D&D ones on-shelf.
>Hasbro going under
How is it even possible for something as big as Hasbro to face financial trouble lmao.
TiL
>4 billion buy
>500 million sold
It's nice to know one of the biggest companies in the world is about as good at investing as me.
Why didn't they actually use clue then?
They did, there are clue cards.
5 of them total. Out of....how many cards? 300+
GThere was no clue set. They saw that WOTC was making a murder mystery set and decided trying to use a big brand to help their failing board game sales was a good idea. No sane person thought a dead boardgame would sell magic product.
>No sane person thought a dead boardgame would sell magic product.
It's the other way around, it's Magic selling a dead boardgame product.
There is a clue mini set, its just some weird stand alone product thing.
It has all the weapons as equipment, and the rooms as brand new lands.
>No sane person thought a dead boardgame would sell magic product.
bro has literally never heard of Critical Role
Next is Assassin's Creed and then Final Fantasy. Marvel is also confirmed
Its a timeless game that was built to scale.
>the game is doing great (as long as you play Commander).
Go suck a billion wieners.
Standard is dead, let it die. Commander is more fun.
>Are you happy with the blatant power and rate creep?
actually yes because it's raised the average powerlevel up so people whine less
Please go back to /edhg/
Here is your Magic The Gathering cards bro
what is teysa suppose to represent?
My wiener becoming erect.
I play MTG Arena, so none of these are playable except for Teysa and Frodo if I go play the cringe modes
Feels good
Warhammer fantasy set when?
Necrons are fricking cool
There's like nothing wrong with like half of these.
>sliver legion
Literally a charity thing. The art was originally done like a literal 5 year old and then a real artist tried to build off that.
>Optimus
Reskin
>Bus
Reskin
>Blanka
UW
>Dustin
UW
>Magus
Foglio also did moronic art and everyone loved it
>Negan
UW
>Frodo
What's wrong with fricking frodo?
>Necron
No real opinion here
>Teysa
There isn't any issue here.
realistically speaking, how viable is a mr house full dice deck?
Pretty terrible to focus on dice alone. Even if you're using D20s to get even more robots, you're better served focusing on a treasure angle to aim for a Revel in Riches win.
why the frick does every card now creates treasures or foods
If cards don't snowball out of control instantly they are unplayable trash.
power creep.
Blame the school of design that led to Horizons Block Constructed. Modern Horizons 1&2 introduced MASSIVE amounts of power creep that every eternal format is struggling to adjust to
out of curiosity is there any "collab" card that is pr was top tier? I feel collabs happen often but whenever I see a magic thread it is just people shitting on them.
a lot of cards from LOTR are broken, the one ring is a must include in every deck
When did you quit, Ganker? I quit around 2017-2018.
Frick the new timeline. Ban every card and alternate art/flavor text that released after Fate Reforged.
Dude, I quit in Mirrodin. Only played single player games after that.
All tcgs are scams
I quit when Oko turned the game into a 3/3 elk.
does this mean there will be an elder scrolls set?
that sucks
mtgsisters...the yugioh chuds are laughing at us again...
>new cards
>almost all have terrible art.
I WILL NOT BUY.
>new vegas stuff
Just like that i look away from yugioh today, it looks fricking good
