Honestly I think this would have been a better story. Meteion should have been a Nibirun creation that went despairo-mode and killed them all then started going off and killing everything else in the universe before arriving on Eithyrs. The Nibiruns were like the Ancients and had creation magics, they were basically late-stage-civilization Ancients, they could have easily written it so that some depressed Nibirun, not Hermes, created Meteion for the same reason, to find an answer to life and it came to the same conclusion and then decided to end everything.
Instead of Ultima Thule the final zone would be the lifeless Nibirun homeworld, and this is where we learn the origin of Meteion (her being a Nibirun creation that went haywire).
This also would have had the added bonus of keeping the mystery of what caused the Final Days a mystery until much later in the story. An issue I had with Endwalker was that Meteion was revealed WAY too soon (literally the halfway point) which left basically no further mystery for the rest of the expansion. It would also mean that the villain was some otherworldy entity rather than something from our world which would have left those who were hoping for some alien monster being behind the Final Days at least semi-satisfied (she'd still be a bird e-girl though not Lavos-tier).
On top of this, it would mean that, rather than the final zone being tiny bite-sized pieces of other worlds (and the rest relegated to being brief areas of the final dungeon) that we barely get to explore, we'd get one whole alien world as our final zone that we would much more intimately explore the ruins of.
Thoughts?
I would've preferred this solely because it would prevent a moronic years long war between waifuhomosexuals and fujoshi over which ancient dindu nuffin.

I actually didn't mind that. It gave context to what was going down and what you were going up against. If they kept it to a last minute reveal it would have been just a shit as the final IX boss.
If you went with this, literally the entire moral of "life is worth living" would have to be resolved in the last 5 minutes, instead of the least 5 hours, and there would be no personal stake whatsoever because the entire plot would have been "an alien came here and fricked us up, the end". I get that the entire plot coming down to the ancients is frustrating for some, but I assure you, making the plot into there just being some random literal who that caused everything for reasons completely removed from the rest of the game wouldn't have made it better.
Let's expand on this idea:

>Nibirun Hermes is some scientist who's involved in magic experiments. He studied Dynamis, like Ancient Hermes, and has a far more intimate knowledege of it than the rest of his peers
>His daughter was some girl with unique aether that made other scientists take interest in her in using her in their experiments. They wouldn't be torturing her or anything, just performing tests on her
>One day something goes horrifically wrong during a test, the end result is not only is his daughter killed, but her soul obliterated as well (something that has never happened before in Nibirun recorded history). Meaning she cannot enter the lifsetream and be reborn. When their whole society reveres the cycle of rebirth and uses this as a cope for dying.
>He can't cope with his daughter being erased from existence, dopamine-rotted fellow Nibiruns literally do not know how to comfort him at all because they're all devoid of basic emotion thanks to their society excises it (save for rare excpetions like Nibirun-Hermes who managed to retain his emotions for whatever reason). He's horrified that literally nobody gives a shit about his daughter being super-killed and just immediately resume their experiments on other subjects like nothing happened.
>Decides to create a bird to comfort him, either intentionally or unintentionally out of dynamis. His memories of his daughter intrude this thoughts during it's creation, causing the bird to come out as a parody of his daughter. Which is why Meteion looks like a pesron with bird features.

Not because she had the moronic conclusion that "other civilziations being dead means we should all just die too lol lmao" but because her master, who had now completley lost the will to live because she confirmed there is no way to bring back his daughter from literal nonexistence, infected her because of her dynamis-nature and made her take on his suicidal will.

And you know what happens next so I don't need to explain. There, now Hermes (the Nibirun version of him) actually has an extremely sympathetic motivation, Meteion isn't deciding to wipe out the universe because of some moronic "logical" conclusion but because she is literally infected with suicidal ideation from the closet being in her life who is suicidal because he just lost all hope of getting his daughter back (who she is an artificial copy of).
Sometimes I forget that as bad as EW was, it could've been so much worse. Thankfully, you'll never be writers beyond Ganker shitposts and job reports.

People need to understand Y'shtola will never be allowed to have an actual character arc because she's a mascot who needs to sell the game. MSQ hands you items so you don't really need anything.
Being able to level ridiculously fast to 50 is one of the best changes they've done. It would be even better if they frontloaded all abilities a lot more, but until then this will have to do.

Finally leveled all jobs, here's my tier list for each job questline (not separated by expansions because that's too much work). Keep in mind this is just in terms of writing and story, not gameplay.
I feel you really need to split the Class and Job questlines apart, since the quality difference in some is staggering. ROG would be way higher than NIN imo.

You simply absorb the damage that the target would usually get. I think Mits work, except for Hallowed because that would enable you to cheese mechanics and that is something SE really doesn't want you to do.
In general I get most use out of it in 24 man raids, when people are low and an AoE is about to go off, or the healer needs babysitting. Unsure if you can still prevent "on damage" effects. Like, some DoTs only apply if the mechanics actually damaged you or some mechanics only knock back when they damage you. I want to say you could basically prevent those effects with cover in the past.

That chance is astronomically small. I would assume less than 50% of PLD have Cover on their hotbars and even less have it on a mouse over macro that you probably need to be fast enough to cover for a mechanic that is evidently already casting. Its the same shit with rescue, unless you are anticipating you need it, it will do jack shit. The amount of corpses I have rescued due to the latency being absolute dogshit...

Pull the adds into the middle so we can AoE them better. If the adds have to be split up then fricking move to the end of the arena. Don't just move a little bit backwards, run with that shit all the way to the frickend of the arena. The more space you give other players the easier they will be able to handle mechanics. If you see someone else tank the boss in the fricking middle of the room then provoke and run with it. Even if he steals the threat from you he will not move the boss again.
Always have your stance up.
Fight other people for a boss.
Turn the boss around so it cleaves people.
When you're about to eat shit never shirk other tanks and IMMEDIATELLY provoke back on yourself if someone tries to take the load of your back.
If you are tank A always pick up B an C mobs.

And... Lastly D: I prefer FFXIV on almost every level, but there are some things on end content that I wish FFXIV would take from WoW. FFXIV could use a bit more polish on end content.
