The story was fine, they just need to fix the difficulty curve at Ueno and rework Temple of Eternity and The Empyrean into good dungeons. That and rebalance how level interacts with skills and enemies so a proper build can still do well against higher level enemies.

I don't think the idea is too far fetched. It's on UE4 so it shouldn't be hard to port, Atlus has been doing improved re-release for a while and God knows SMTV would need some improvements. Also it's the best selling game in the franchise, so why not branch out a bit? Unless Nintendo is holding the series hostage, that's hard to tell, it's what everyone assumed about Persona (with Sony instead).

Persona 5 is the New Horizons of Animal Crossing and just like it, is only popular because of women who don’t like actual vidya. Being a murderhobo in SMTIV:A was a better use of my time than this. SMTV at least didn’t stop you every 5 minutes for 30 minutes.
P5 wasn't particularly good, except in terms of gameplay. My prediction is that P6 will be the utmost refined version of the persona battle system, and complete ass juice in terms of story and characters, and people will eat it up anyway.

Sure. I'm waiting on the DLC to hit over 50% off, SEGA never goes above 33% sales. For now it's an 8/10 SMT game, the lack of story content and lack of memorable dungeons hold it back from 4 and 4 Apocalypse. Neutral route being the worst its ever been is one other reason some soured on it hard, tradionally Neutral SMT gives you the most fights but in SMT5 the game just abruptly ends and you get no Lucifer fight either. Left me confused. There's Law/Chaos/Neutral/and "True Neutral Ending" route in SMT5. True Neutral is weird as hell to activate and super strict to get it at end game.
I enjoyed what I played of it but dropped it toward the end of the second area because the performance was just too bad. I'll replay it on emulator at some point and hopefully enjoy it to its fullest.

For now it's an 8/10 SMT game, the lack of story content and lack of memorable dungeons hold it back from 4 and 4 Apocalypse. Neutral route being the worst its ever been is one other reason some soured on it hard, tradionally Neutral SMT gives you the most fights but in SMT5 the game just abruptly ends and you get no Lucifer fight either. Left me confused. There's Law/Chaos/Neutral/and "True Neutral Ending" route in SMT5. True Neutral is weird as hell to activate and super strict to get it at end game.

I enjoyed what I played of it but dropped it toward the end of the second area because the performance was just too bad. I'll replay it on emulator at some point and hopefully enjoy it to its fullest.

the performance wasn't that bad. at least not to the point where it made the game literally unplayable like deadly premonition 2 or drakengard 3.

i didn't. those are examples of games being unplayable because of performance issues.
I suppose I prioritize performance more than most. Like if a game doesn't run smoothly or drops frames in areas it directly affects my enjoyment and desire to continue playing the game.
It's not that bad anon. It's a turn based game so the performance isn't the end of the world. Truthfully there are much worse performing games out there, sorry you quit my dude but it was a good game. The overworld performance gets some getting used to but DigitalFoundry found it to be 30FPS, just not smooth as we would like it to be. And I say this as someone won primarily plays PS5 games in 60FPS mode. Hopefully you can enjoy it on an emulator at some point if that's what it takes, till then cheers fellow SMTbro.

Imagine it like Outlaw Star with a gun that takes magic bullets. A SMT game set in space as a western with the journey being to the center of our galaxy encountering demons and seeing your companions go in different routes from you.
You have gun, but instead you shoot demons.
