VV is changing that though and making it much, much more explicit that the MC is a stand in for his mythological wife. What they will do outside of that who knows but you do have access to your dorm room now and Aogami stayed in your dorm room for two nights in the original so....

NTA but episode 12 kind of sucked. A lot of shit was left unanswered for the sake of a surprise super boss at the last minute. The two male leads relationship didn't even conclude properly either. That said it was funny and lewd if the shirtless guy you see in the pic is your type. He gets bullied a lot.
Ended up watching the first episode on a whim, it's kino. Too bad the ending isn't great, oh well.
Its one of those things I've learned to accept with anime and manga. Doesn't stop the ride itself from being overall enjoyable.

I go harem route in every Persona game for my first run, pick a waifu, then romance only her during NG+. Anyone who thinks dating sims are problematic has no business playing Persona. That's the reason the franchise became popular. I would certainly hope that offending westerners is not the reason there's no dating in Metaphor and that it's just a story and design decision.

Around 2010 you could still say that they cared, they made a whole article about picking the right typefaces for the English localisation for Etrian Odyssey 4, because that was important for a game with lots of text. With EO5 they already didn't really give much of a shit about adapting what was in the JP text, and come the recent HD Collection you could tell they had, willfully or otherwise, completely forgotten about that deal with typefaces and making the UI look nice from a decade ago.

Apocalypse is reviled for the tone, the fact that your friends are actual power of friendship the true megami tensei is the friends we made along the way types instead of being allignment reps who could at any time go to fulfill their own objectives. Giving you a purely optional party chat where you can talk to your demons and develop context for your robot partner is never a bad thing. In fact SMT games are universally praised for whenever they give unique optional NPC dialogue that helps fill out the world.

You say that like it hasn't been answered a million times. At the start of the game you select between the old and new path. The first half of the game is largely similar but with a new character, new scenes and some changed/extended. Past the half way point it deviates into a new story.
Both. They added a completely new story route, but mechanical elements like human party members, demon haunts and new quests/demons are in both routes so even the original has added stuff
