The only thing I want in this world is to have a Shiny Shuckle.
Looking online how to hunt shinies is crazy. Nobody seems to agree on anything. Im playing Sword/Shield. Pls help me out.
Right now what im doing is killing Shuckles non-stop and trying to get to 500. And just have a chain of Shuckle I killed without fighting any other pokemon. I also dont have shiny charm because im lazy and the game isnt great.
Am I increasing the odds of a Shiny by killing shuckles? Or am I waisting my time.

Didn't know struggling with a shiny on a Switch game was even possible.
Im not struggling. But I read online that killing 500 of one pokemon only raises the chance of encountering a "brilliant" one not a shiny.
It is possible, Shuckle is not in Dynamax Adventures, does not have a chaining method in BDSP, and was not available in the wild in Sun/Moon if we are even considering OP has the 3DS games and a way to transfer. Best odds is hatching eggs w/ MM but that is inferior these days because eggs don't have marks and you can bottle cap important stats anyways.

SWSH is shit but you can get the charm easily. Probably worth it in the long run. Although why not just hunt in another game?
Yeah I should get the charm. But catching 400 mons. and then trading some that are exclusive and erh. What a hassle just for a blue Shuckle.

Killing 500 boosts odd of Brilliant Aura spawns being shiny, with the charm reducing the total chance to 1/512, but only for the critters that spawn with the yellow smoke effect.
I want you to know that when my Switch died after trying to find a single Lapras via fishing on Route 9 in Sword and could not, I swapped to Platinum to find a shiny Shuckle on your behalf, but I suck at chaining, You are not alone in this hunt my friend.
