Here's your new Mystery Dungeon game bro
Hopefully this does decently enough so the series doesn't almost die again

Is that Mamel barrier fricking night time mode again? Talk about Monkeys Paw shit. Frick that I was excited then immediately pissed.
I don't see any time mechanic, so it's most likely just a unique boss enemy. With how they're saying it's "back to basics" they're probably not including day/night stuff since they know not everyone likes that mechanic from 5.
It's one of the worst gimmicks I've come across in any game ever, if it comes back I won't buy the game its that bad. Other than that it looks okay, it seems like a nice step up from Etrian Mystery Dungeon.
Looking at the website, the barrier might be connected to the glowing thing in the same room. Maybe you have to destroy that first to get rid of the barrier?
Also since these monsters are 3x3 you can probably just run into corridors to escape them.
What if they're like the DOEs in Etrian Mystery Dungeon and just break through the walls and make the corridors wider as they pass?
I don't like it already, I hate that devs feel the need to shoehorn gimmicks in like this. I bet it turns out to be shit.
>we're going back to basics
Yeah right.
>noooooo, how dare the game make me play differently and adapt my strategies!
lol
>WOOOAH IS THAT A FRICKING KAMEHAMEHA??? SO HECKIN BBBASED
It literally killed the series, only revived by nintendies who are so desperate they buy anything that ends up on switch.
>I-IS THAT... A ROGUELIKE MAKING ME... MANAGE LIMITED RESOURCES???? AAAAAAA HELP ME POT-MAN, I NEED MY 1000000000 MILLION VACUUM-SLASH SCROLLS!!!!!!
Yeah, that totally killed the series and not the 5th game being jp only and its re-release being on the fricking VITA.
It literally reduces the amount of resources you have to manage because everything else other than your skill counts become worthless. Its literally doing the opposite of what you think it is
here
I completely forgot about skills (haven't played in over a year), that part of night mode did suck tbh, it's stupid to have a completely separate type of resource that's irrelevant for 90% of the floors and only takes effect towards the end
There's plenty of items that are still useful during the night, skills just force you to be extremely careful due to how few skill slots you get to survive night with. Resource management isn't just managing a lot of resources, it's knowing WHEN to use those resources and dealing with when you have an extremely limited amount of them and knowing how to make the most of each one.
I liked night mode
It's okay, there are people that like PMD in this very thread you're in bad taste company.
I'm sorry you got filtered
I'm sorry you think it's filtering to not enjoy essentially having to play a mini game from a different game instead of the mystery dungeon I paid money for. If it was just visibility and making enemies a bit stronger it would have been fine.
only pokemon mystery dungeon matters, the absolute state of your failed thread is all you need to know.
That's like saying no game other than fortnite matters. The Shiren MDs are much better than the casualised pokemon entries but people gobble shit up don't they.
Both are good you homosexuals.
Shiren is eternal, the Japanese will keep it going forever.
They literally said in an interview that the only reason 6 got made was because the Switch port of 5 sold well, and that the series probably would've been dead or had a long hiatus if it sold badly.
So what MD games would people recommend outside of shiren and pokemon? I used to play the chocobo MD game when I was younger but I don't really recall many other MD-style games
Gensokyo Wanderer is kinda nice,
Call me when a new Izuna game drops
>he doesn't know
How did this fricking dead genre get two games announced in two weeks?
Izuna's always rode off the popularity of MD so I wouldn't be shocked if they saw that the Shiren 5 port did well and decided to try and revive Izuna because of it.
Here's your innkeeper for tonight
nice feet
What's a good Shiren to start with to prepare for 6?
1 on SNES/DS or 2 on N64. 2's easier so if 1 is too hard you can just skip right to 2, it's a prequel anyway as well.
