I think "meh" fits better than "shit" for the story I liked the side story with the "wizard" and the boy playing detective with his dog, too bad the main story felt so uninspired
This, roguelikes are the best example of that, they got very simple or no story, probably no music to speak of, if there are tiles they are just passable but the gameplay can be good, at least it is in DCSS
Every CDPR game is the inverse of this. They are good at superficial shit like art, music, writing, etc. but the second they need to program anything game related they shit themselves. Didn't even know how to program traffic or police chases in 2077 so they just cut it.
they messed up cp2077 (well, from what I've seen), but witcher3's gameplay was great. I don't know what the frick people are talking about, give me one open world game with the same scope as witcher 3 and with better gameplay ? the closest rpg you could compare it to like skyrim, ubisoft's yearly slop or dragon age were completely crushed by it
Witcher 3 is janky as frick when you actually compare it to any other game that has melee combat, horse riding, UI, etc.. Horse riding feels stiff and difficult to control outside of following scripted roads. Combat is mind numbingly simple, blocking is useless, theres 2 dodges for some reason even though rolling is much farther and has I-frames. You can also just cheese most combat encounters by just spamming Quen. The inventory systems sucks shit just because they do not organize any items well, they let you pick up almost anything and it fills up your inventory even though its useless junk or food types that have the same exact stats. Potions and skills would be better if they actually had more of them affect any of the gameplay beyond percentage buffs. They brought this shit percentage system over to CP2077 but then realized how boring it was, and then changed it all in 2.0 at least.
Speaking of the horse riding being stiff. Geralt feels stiff too. His movement feels and looks like a Postal 2 pedestrian. Jumping shouldn't even be in the game and is largely there to compensate for the amount of hills interfering with the ledge grabbing. He floats up like Mario when jumping, but suddenly falls like a brick. In combat, the most cancerous fights are the ones that require you to stay in a small area, because every god damn thing you do moves you around. Blocking any attack whatsoever should cause you to get knocked back every time.
I am at the place where I won't bother playing a game if all aspects aren't good.
Just good story? Just good gameplay? Just nice graphics?
All pass. If it doesn't look good, play fun and tell an interesting tale, I don't want it.
RE4 had bad aesthetics since everything is a shade of brown or grey, RE5 is even worse since everything is a shade of brown+bloom out of the ass. And the story of those games is worse than anything before them in the series, not surprising they also ruined it.
both Judgments
boring, fart music, ether on kamurocho map minus all its returning history or on initially lame Ijincho map, doesn't motivate you to be a better person
and the best combat in the yakooza series
Maybe a shit opinion and there's also a few good song there, but Zestiria gameplay was really fun to me. They also made playing casters way more fun than any other tale of game
Dying Light
shit man i was struggling to think of one and you're right
All I remember from dying light is that the MC can't think for himself, most of the plot could have been avoided if he was not super moronic.

>great gameplay

Music is great and the DLC has a pretty good story.
FFXVI
although there are a few good songs in the game
that piece of shit does not have great gameplay
Dota 2
witcher 3

DMC5, unironically.
Dmc5 has the most iconic soundtrack of any game in at least the last 5 years and it's not even close, ill give you the other points though
I loved DMC5 but I genuinely can't remember a single song from it aside from the Nero, Dante, and Vergil's themes
I like DMCV's soundtrack but I hate how Bury the Light has """""replaced"""" Vergil 2 as the de facto theme for Vergil in the heads of babbies
Elona, DCSS, ADOM, C:DDA, ToME
Baldur's Gate (3)

Videogames don't need stories
that's because you substitute literally everything with vidya, like a chicken eating compound feed allday
FFIX
Nu-Hitman
base version ace of spades (before machine guns). I wouldn't call it great but it was fun
RE4 and RE5
You're a fool beyond saving if you think RE4 has bad aesthetics or the writing is bad

The writing is good, but the game is brown as hell.
The Castle sections and night time Village look great.

Dragons Dogma
>Forgettable OST
I'm going to sneak into your home, carry you while you sleep and brine you in the nearest body of water you doubleBlack person.
Dishonored 2, though Karnaca doesn't always look like shit.
FF7
Action Quake 2.
elden ring
Street Fighter 6
I feel like more stylized lighting (such as this guys renders) would do wonders for the presentation in 6, it's egregiously bad in its current state
Maybe a shit opinion and there's also a few good song there, but Zestiria gameplay was really fun to me. They also made playing casters way more fun than any other tale of game
mario 64

Baldurs Gate 3
GoW ascension.
