How can people get caught up in a SINGLE scene so much? Makoto's romance route is one of the worst ones and she doesn't even care at all if you refuse her.
Meanwhile Yoshizawa literally tells you she loves you before romancing her and Haru becomes depressed if you refuse her, and she's still sad about it in Valentine's Day if you don't pick her.
How Makoto became so popular and the "canon waifu", I'll never understand.

Kasumi was made to be the canon girl in Royal because they needed to make players care about her. But I absolutely agree that if there were to be a canon girl it would have to be the one that expresses the most amount of romantic feelings towards Joker outside of the romance route, which is Haru.

She is even worse than Marie in that regard because at least Marie doesn't force the MC sit at home while she does all the important shit in the story.

I'm willing to chalk that up to coincidence since 'jack of all trades starts weak but becomes godtier at the end of the game' is sort of a recurring theme in jrpgs and it's not like Atlus have ever given a shit about balance.
