All the resources that went to making these types of games are all for mobile gacha type shit now.
yeah they're pretty much only making mobile shovelware now
honest question, why the frick don't they just remove the leveling process? I love leveling and I think that the process is integral to stuff like EQ, FFXI, and WoW, but in modern MMOs it is such a time waste and after thought. There is no challenge, there is no engagement. It is just useless
you can thank wow for propagating that rush to endgame mentality
depends on what version of WoW you're talking about, I loved the leveling process in pre cata WoW. It was genuinely a better game than the end game content. The stories, the art, the music, the style, the dungeons. So fricking kino

These are the upcoming MMOs. Throne and Liberty will be korean + have grind.
Blue Protocol is run by Amazon for NA so expect stinky dogshit non-stop.
Ashes of Creation has been in development for 8 years or something, I would say avoid as I was not impressed when I was in the 5th round closed beta. The community is actual cancer and the devs want to eventually steal every cent you have.
>Ashes of Creation (Mix of Archeage/Lineage PvP + Everquest/WoW PvE + territorial control/city building/gathering/crafting) [Maybe 2025] >2025
not a fricking chance. That guy got way in over his head, he has no idea how to make an mmo. it's gonna be played by archeage survivors and die off when they don't want to leave their 10k dollar accounts and erenor sets behind.
this shit is supposedly an MMO, but has absolutely no buzz, closed beta had like 100 viewers on twitch and even in open beta it wasn't even close to 1k
DOA for sure unless they pay big name streamers to shill it
I played that today, anyone can join the cbt
it's not an mmo
there's a town that is essentially a lobby then you queue up for activities like mini games, bosses, pvp, or raids which weren't out yet
you do not get to customize your character and instead you pick a premade which is locked to your class
you can get them outfits and such
you have to pay or grind for new classes/characters
not an mmo
not a maplestory 2 clone
very jank
very low budget
ignore the smilegate name its phone jank
>shitty
No, they were actually good back then because they weren't blatant WoW clones
Now modern Korean MMOs? Yeah, they all follow the same pattern of "just rush to max level where the game actually starts... only for everything to be gated behind dailies and several layers of RNG"
honest question, why the frick don't they just remove the leveling process? I love leveling and I think that the process is integral to stuff like EQ, FFXI, and WoW, but in modern MMOs it is such a time waste and after thought. There is no challenge, there is no engagement. It is just useless
why not just put that effort into content that the devs can monetize (similar to their end game stuff). people aren't really spending money during leveling because it's not designed for that. just seems like an odd choice from both a development standpoint AND a financial one
>people aren't really spending money during leveling
People buy skips
former xiv drone here, bought 2 skips to raid because in adulthood you value your time and entertainment over money. they absolutely make bank off of skips, the leveling experience is torture.
Fricking this.
The leveling in Xiv is piss easy and you can easily out level the entirety of the game in a matter of hours if you just play the game normally.
If anything skipping some of the story makes sense if you really don't care to rewatch the storyline after the first time.
Yeah I don’t know. Guild Wars wasn’t exactly an MMO but you capped at 20 and still had plenty of game to grind through after that. This model of “okay lets load all the content at the level cap. Now raise the level cap and effectively throw all that old content into the dumpster” is such a literal waste of resources. If the cap was super low or just didn’t exist all the old content could remain relevant and hold onto newcomers that much longer.
when I was in korea it would always be the degenerate high school girls skipping class playing these games in the pc bangs. I'm convinced that no men actually play them.
>earliest dress-up simulators you could play
But of course, this used to be the demographic of most graphical MMORPGs before everything just became suits of armor and pauldrons
>cringe names
I was all .::WeirdAssName::. for us in Lineage 2 >badass armor
or weapons, Arcana Mace my beloved >multiboxing
I was keeping 6 clients in range of a siege to farm fame and was playing WoW on top of that.
>lvl 70 cap >no bots yet >the Christmas event that gave you monster scrolls and Rudolph mounts >grouping up with others to kill Uniques >finding some luxury goods on the ground and going thief >the sweet tears of 1* traders when my npc thief targeted their camel
Take me baaaack
Popping berserk and killing t*rks in Jangan Fields with my +8 SoSun spear, home
God this game was garbage
>lvl 70 cap >no bots yet >the Christmas event that gave you monster scrolls and Rudolph mounts >grouping up with others to kill Uniques >finding some luxury goods on the ground and going thief >the sweet tears of 1* traders when my npc thief targeted their camel
Take me baaaack
>camping tiger girl for 5 days straight >Finally get the kill >lv16 SoS bow drops >sell it for 20m gold
you mean you've played it? I don't mean the mobile version of mabi but the remake and I wouldn't be surprised if its trash since it's mobile but I hate that it's mobile and it wouldn't be saved by being cross platform either because it was made for mobile which means it's trash
For a mobile game ported to PC its quite fun
yeah I was kinda surprised how decent it was aside from the obvious mobile trash like the UI
if only they made a PC mmorpg, those devs have potential to make something good
I still play Mabi in current year. It's revamped it's New User content and tutorial 3 full times in the last year and a half, and is incredibly easy to start and get some competency in.
I never see it discussed here, and the in-game community is somewhat small, but there's still a lot to do and heaps and heaps of QoL coming down the pipeline.
>It's revamped it's New User content and tutorial 3 full times in the last year and a half, and is incredibly easy to start and get some competency in
Really? I might try it again. I tried playing it and felt REALLY lost.
It does a pretty decent job now introducing the basics and what upgrading your strength and your skills looks like.
If you do decide to play again, the questline is called Blaanid's Brave Boost. It's kind of aggressively pushed at you if you make a new character, but even your old character can do it.
Chain Slash's kit is very loaded and can accomplish a lot for any given situation. It scales incredibly well early on, letting you do a lot of early damage compared to it's contemporaries, but is somewhat difficult to push large numbers later on. But that would be at the point where you have a lot of other options trained up.
With the introduction of Arcana talents, tho, there's not really a bad talent to pursue anymore. You'll eventually explore all of them and rank them all up if you keep playing. If I can recommend against one, it would be Alchemy. Very powerful but scales horridly, and doesn't give stats that make your other talents better. Spoilers: I started with Alchemy and did just fine.
artists are often bad salesman, they can't get funding for their projects
and since games are more profitable than ever you can bet none of the artists are being paid
I don't want a remake. Let people keep the characters they have right now. Just redo the progression. Have end of Blaanid be the new baseline. so 20k cum level is equal to 0 cum level.
Trim out a lot of the useless growth features like potential
Make leveling skills a large part of the game again, rebalance all the main story quests so they're not a pushover with blaanid gear which is the new baseline
and do a number crunch so everything is smaller again
I don't want to deal 1000k damage I want to deal 1k and be amazed
I honestly think a game like mabinogi would be fine having a mobile port/version. Being able to do slow shit while not at a PC would be cool as long as it isn't built specifically for mobile making everything else forced to be slow/simplified shit. Which it probably will be.
it already has a mobile version yeah but this one cleverly branded "mabinogi mobile" is a mobile remake with new graphics and probably dumbed down for mobile gamers and I'm assuming with cash shop up the ass
wouldn't be surprised if they went back to rebirth being a paid feature
>Chinkshit Mabi Mobile gives endgame skills like Hailstorm and FH/FS upon character creation >DevCat's is in limbo
At least the first one got shut down.

I don't get how the hell did they even go into development hell
like how do you frick up a mobile remake of a game so badly that it gets delayed for like 5 years and is in a constant state of radio silence for all of that
>but I enjoy leveling too
don't get me wrong a lot of wow players do like it but I still think it was wow that started the whole rush to endgame where the real game begins
I don't know if blizzard ever intended for it to be that way but they sure as hell supported players wanting it
it's probably a combination of factors but it's where the direction went after all the esports, theorycrafting autism, publicity for top tier raiding guilds, speedrunning and such got popular
gaming as a whole changed quite drastically from like 2005 to 2010
>I don't know if blizzard ever intended for it to be that way but they sure as hell supported players wanting it
They definitely intended leveling and grinding dungeons to be the core part of WoW because slow leveling curve = longterm subscriptions. They made the endgame similar towards Diablo 2 where you spam big bosses for the best gear since a lot of people played D2 for that aspect. It came to be a surprise that people actually cared more for the D2 mechanics of endgame than exploring the world and doing dungeons, so they updated the game to focus mainly on raids.
>flyff universe >game rebuild from ground up by fans >supposedly not P2W >suddenly gets funded by the original developers >launches not only P2W but also pay to progress
As always israelites ruin everything. We can't have a product that's good and fun AND makes money if there's a version of that product that is bad and not fun but makes MORE money.
probably the fact you had to constantly have a guy buff you in order to take down some of the higher rate monsters no matter what.
If you weren't being social you were getting your ass handed to you left and right and would have to spend a shit ton of money on healing items to keep yourself from going under.
I remember watching a trailer for an MMO when I was in school, that had a big emphasis on pets in combat and mounts. Anyone remember that?
I always wanted to play Aion too.
>rushing back home from school to play maplestory >server check >or server full >or dad downloading shitload of stuff on limewire >or little sister watching high school musical songs >suddenly it's the evening and have homework ot do
Maple is as shit as ever.
It's quite impressive what they've done map-wise, it's all pretty comfy. But due to the new structure of the game, you basically skip 95% of everything anyway. Quite the shame. Don't get me started on all the broken legacy systems that were either removed or nerfed and all the shit that was implemented, too. Took me a week of reading just to get my bearings
Pirate MMOs have this essential problem that it doesn't feel right if you alone are in control of a full ship but it's also not viable to have players doing every role in a ship.
Sometimes I wonder what happened to my old friends that used to play MMO together. Are they happily married with stable jobs? barely scraping to live? A shut-in NEET reading this thread? or maybe already gone from this world? Pretty depressing...
If a game is Korean, there's a 99.99% chance it is pay2win. However, you can still enjoy most of these games despite that. Some of them like Mabinogi only have very minor p2w advantages, and others take hundreds of hours of gameplay before you hit the "wall" where you have to pay to progress.
Dungeon Fighter Online for pure combat & leveling alts
Mabinogi for sandbox activities and community
BDO for life skills (fishing, chopping wood, etc). I like playing on private servers for BDO since they let you get cash shop stuff for free so you can skip the p2w.
All my friends hyped up BDO waiting for release. As soon as I get the game and start playing they told me they dropped it cause there wasn't meaningful guild activates (housing and whatnot)
I've been itching to play Mabinogi or RO for the first time, but I feel like the Steam versions aren't it. Is there a best way to play these games as a first time player these days?
I will never understand how people can enjoy those games.
Much worse than even the shovelware I played as a kid.
level 9999 is ascension cap. level 235 is character cap. level 105 is awakening cap. and I think now there's a constellation level system that's comparable to more than level 105 awakening, which is more than level 9999 ascension. all but character level are account bound at least.
>There's a private server that basically is the server now.
It was THE server until dev went full sperg, nowadays I have no idea if the grown ass woman in charge got her shit togheter. Still the server is quite p2w as expected of an ultra p2w game but still...
I swear to god there was a game like Rumble Fighter but with robots and it wasn't that one gundam game. I can't find it and its been haunting me for the past two decades
I don't know why they used a d3 armor set for that as it's something anyone can get and transmog onto their own armor. Kinda breaks the joke if you've played d3.
>Make Jett finally good with her Legion and 5th Job >Remove her because she's buggy with newer quests
How will they handle all the other non-KMS classes in the future?
I haven't played in a long time, but when I still playing a bit on and off, my Jett was always my goto class. I was actually thinking of coming back for a bit, but this fricking killed any desire I had.
last time I checked my 1660ti 3600 couldnt run it. the engine "update" completely murdered whatever was left of that game. the sequel is some dogshit mobile shovelware. such a shame, b&s still has the best combat out of every mmo ive ever played
pvp was unironically 100% skill based
Blade and Soul changed artist which went to make destiny child and nikkie the goddess of victory now. Also censored original art. Blade and Soul is just using name of brand it's not what it was originally.
I think mmos in general died when alts and multiple classes on a single character (like xiv) became a thing. it was cool being a shaman or warrior with a +100 sword or armor that few other people had. groups were varied and you felt like a specialist. not anymore
Played lineage 2 for years on private servers, played some RO loved it but never was good, Lunia online was fun not sure if korean and dungeon fighter online too. Also S4league but many cheaters.
I think he's talking about miracle cubes... I never had a need to do that myself personally but some homosexuals have to make constant rolls to get better gear.
At extremely stupid rates so it was up to you whether you wanted to gamble. You never made money off gacha. But after a certain point if you just allow leveled gear that’s also been MADE PERFECT STATS WITH CUBES, then you create what is a better chance. You already have the object in question you’re just tweaking the stats which didn’t have a bad rate on average with cubes. And the CUBES HAD TIERS TOO SO YOU COULD SELL THE CUBES THEMSELVES WHICH WERE USUALLY RARE IN GAME DROPS SO PEOPLE BOT FARMED. Basically the free market to a limit is necessary to not create the P2W situation in what’s otherwise a very deep game with actual substance if you care to read the lore. And the art style was good, will never be replicated.
Those were a small pool of items that some people could buy but let’s be honest when the game came out it was kids playing it. My friend talked about it in elementary and I went through school up to college knowing people who played as a kid. So a kid is either gonna ask his parents directly which is not always yea, or steal the card info but not many kids are that crafty.
Most korean MMOs had soul, until eventually they have some big reorganization patch (Big Bang in Maplestory, for example) that rebalances and streamlines a lot of the game. Those major overhauls are always the beginning of the end, and every last one I played declined the same way.
>install L2 back when friend got me a cd with it >create f.elf >fap >create f.dark elf >fap >create f.dorf >fap >try to play the game >got tricked and killed in pvp >uninstall >back to playing RO
If I had to recommend something I think it would have to be Toram. I had fun just grinding things out in it and it seemed like the character progression side of things had some meat to it. I liked that the main quest wasn't the entire leveling process, just a small part of it. I'm not even sure if you have to do it.
I quit pretty much for the same reason as
I unironically love/loved toram but not having any friends who played made it not quite as good so I ended up quitting
Probably would've been fun with some friends to play with.
i played a lot of iruna online on mobile, which i think was a predecessor of toram. might have to check it out again if its on pc.
I think that's the case. Give it a shot. For being a port of a mobile MMO it's kinda decent.
If you're into classic real MMORPG grind there's HorizonXI. Launched a couple months ago and based on the player numbers its still going strong. FFXI is fun from the start sort of, the very first levels can be a pain and you always got another job to level even if you happen to reach the level cap for one. Similarly because of the job system and level sync it's rather easy to find parties even for lower levels.
As a bonus it has zero p2w or cash shop garbage because it's a private server.
Idk what it is but XI Horizon partying gets me anxious. Like I don't know how to play the jobs in a group and everyone on Horizon is oldies that know every meta. I sat and leveled WHM and THF to 12 but can't bring myself to look for a group.
It's scary as a new player I can relate. Healing for low level parties is brutal so I wouldn't recommend that for a newcomer. If you want the lowest expectations from people go MNK. They can't tank or pull so you get to sit there and wait for a monster to get pulled and provoked and then you can go slap it. The hardest thing you gotta do in the early levels is to use Boost before weapon skill.
There's also a Ganker LS. I haven't played in a while so idk if they still have threads in /vm/ or /vrpg/ but that's where you used to get in touch with them. XI players in general are pretty helpful and welcoming to noobs but you gotta say something or people won't know.
Ahhh that takes me back. I never played farther than the first 10 levels or whatever it was the trial gave you. Graphically speaking it reminded me a lot of the original .Hack games.
>Tried to make it a canon sequel to the original series >They gave humans the ability to go Super Saiyan and explained it as humans all having saiyan blood because they crossbred with Goku and Vegeta's descendants
Would have been less moronic if they just let you wish yourself into being a Saiyan
anyone remember either a korean or chinese MMO which was in 2,5D?
I played it like 12 years ago for a little bit when I was young, I used to love trying old indie games and random MMOs on Softonic
Thanks anon, now I remember I can't go back and play Ragnarok just like in the old times. I still keep a folder of screenshots back from 2005, I'm taking them to my grave.
I played that a lot but never progressed
mostly looked at what other people had and went "Wow i want that" but never figured out how to get anything or actually pursue anything
there was a resource on how to get most things though im not sure how accurate they were, I remember to get one armor it would spawn in a chest every hour or so but it was a CHANCE of a spawn every hour not 100%
I vaguely remember that and Dark Ages. Endless had a f2p mode I think? Or I played a private server I don't remember. Never got to play Dark Ages because it was p2p and I didn't have my own card back then.
is there any private server? the game really died quickly when I remembered a lot of hype around it, and it still has linked elements to it to this day
god what was this game, didn't its combat actually throw you into like a turn based system similar to old final fantasy instead of the usual real time stuff every mmo does
> didn't its combat actually throw you into like a turn based system similar to old final fantasy instead of the usual real time stuff every mmo does
No
what fricking game did that then I know I played a moronic 2d kmmo that looked exactly like trickster but it had combat encounters that worked like say earthbound where there is an enemy sprite on screen and you would run into it and start an encounter like picrelated, and people could see you on the overworld and join in your battles mid way
yep thats it, I didn't play it a ton but I thought it was okay

Yeah it was ok but it was mostly a glorified chatroom because most people used to autoplay to collect resources or were waiting to be done with things they were creating.
I remember the card mini game and drilling more than the actual gameplay but I’m pretty sure the norm back then was clicking an enemy to autofight with real time skills you can use
never heard of pangya but i love the 3d models and I found a private server to play it a bit and i wanna try and rip models out of it to use in vrchat i miss this comfy generation of 3d/2d art man.
>Angels online >Rare item with 0.000012% drop chance from a boss that spawned once every 6 hours >50-90 people spawncamping while botting that were able to kill it in seconds so it was impossible to get
Good ol insane drop rates.
getting a rune w/ skill was my first RMT experience as a 10yo kid
i still remember not eating lunch at school for 3 days to get the money and pay the dude, we went to the same school
>he doesnt remember breaking his +9 full moon sword >he doesnt remember breaking his +9 red iron blade >he doesnt remember fishing for hair dye to afford his next +9 weapon and break it again
>he doesnt remember fishing for hair dye to afford his next +9 weapon and break it again
I don't remember the upgrade system, but I do remember fishing for pearl because I had no money
a literal Black person blacksmith would start breaking your weapons from +5 onwards iirc
+9 to +10 was like 60% chance to break or something ridiculous like that
he just deleted your weapon, no -1 to level or start over
it was just gone
40% success rate? that sounds downright pleasant even with break on fail, plenty of games in the past 10 years have been 1-3% success rate with 100% chance to break on fail, and that goes on for several enhancement levels, like +25 on maplestory I believe is 1%/100% break.

deterministic upgrading is what I prefer, I'm just saying a LOT of games are shit nowadays, especially MMOs, you can't find a single multiplayer game with truly deterministic 100% upgrading anymore.
Lineage 2 was the only MMO where the "massive" aspect was true, Castle sieges were a mess of thousand players and it was glorious.
meanwhile current day WoW servers shit itself if more than 200 players are in the same area.
Why does no one ever talk about Mabinogi? I thought its a unique and interesting game.
no other mmo's combat comes close for me, RPS style combat is just too god
i remember just being able to use windmill properly put you in the top 1% of players
I played most of those, but for me the one that I remember because it had the best pvp I've ever experienced AND your own pet e-girl voiced by toyosaki aki was AIKA. world vs world was so fricking fun, I remember being anxious to log in the next day as soon as I logged out because I wanted to be around to help stop/go on raids for relics.
>deleting classes >skipping 90% of the world >new player experience sucks >client is buggy and will crash constantly >unoptimized >pay to win or anti social servers, pick one
it wasn't in 2005. if you have played recently, it absolutely is, it's just a mobile phone gacha game now, even reboot feels like it except they took out the gacha so you just feel permanently fricked because you can't pay to get OP but you can't get really progress that fast by playing either, so you have no sense of feeling like you are getting stronger.
I've been itching to play Mabinogi or RO for the first time, but I feel like the Steam versions aren't it. Is there a best way to play these games as a first time player these days?
The live version of Mabinogi is fine, people will complain about skill/feature bloat and completely ignore all the years of good content and QoL updates. Not to mention it's more beginner friendly than ever right now. As for
RO private server communities are ass. They ruined the game with their moronese.
https://mabi.pro/ seems to be still around. Dead but it's based on some older version of the game so it should be less bloated. I haven't tried it.
MabiPro is absolutely not the way to go especially as a new player, it's based on a very early version of Mabinogi lacking a ton of worthwhile content and most skills and like half of the content that is there isn't translated. It's a server for hardcore nostalgiagays that played back in G2/G3 and want to relive a bit of that.
>Play fiesta >Have a great time >Hit the first wall (lv 85) >Decide to start to spending some cash (not that much) >Finally reach last promotion (lv 100) >Reach second wall (lv 103) >Drop it all together
I had fun but the endgame gets too grindy and too money demanding, I still miss it from time to time tho.
Can anyone help me remember a mid to late 2000's Eastern-themed mmo? I remember it being sprite-based, top down, and one of the weapons being those long Chinese spear sword with the ribbons round them.
Oh, and I remember you could jump too. Frick, it's driving me.nuts.
willhelm reich in 1930s practiced psychotherapy called vegetotherapy where he made his patients undress and then painfully pressed their bodies with his hands. The wife of this israeli man described the therapy as a physical attack from the therapist. For an unknown reason after the session the patients may have had sensations of orgasmic pleasure flowing through their body. Now the violating pervert said it's because they had their repressed memories released after the violation he committed. That's clearly bullshit but there was already research at the time on and the violator himself was familiar with the electrodermal acitivity that is continuous variation in the electrical characteristics of the skin which was said to be the source of the pleasure. But what could've caused the electrical variation in such a way at that situation
A different thing I'd like to ask is would someone happen to know released papers/publishments from 1900-1970 that mention the symptom of intrusive images? The earliest I could find mentioned was from 1970.
Also of interest are the applications of diathermy or
other electromagnetic radiation procedures
Koreans probably used up their collective lifetime of soul making KMMO music.
i used to play lots of them back in the day. wonderland, grand fantasia, eden, lagsword. all of them start good but eventually become shit, either because the company becomes greedy and release broken characters or enhancement levels to milk whales, breaking pve and pvp in the process, or because the community fills up with homosexuals and drama landwhales and ends up killing the game, this last part being especially true for p-servers. in the end, they become a huge waste of time because everything you did goes down the drain, so i keep myself away from mmos and online games in general
I always dream of how the Korean gaming market would've played out if netcafes never caught on
kdnf have battlepasses too but ours are usually always gimped versions (unique experience). if you compare our spectre and blitz battlepasses from last year you will see a huge difference between them despite the same price. i caved and bought it a week ago anyway since i wanted account vault space

I played that one quite a bit
cleared most if not all the dungeons and went on a crime spree
I remember crouching in some dungeon in a corner hoping nobody would murder me and steal my crap
I was playing immortal/melee priest build, i just by chance healed a red player
Then i started to enjoy the thug life, we made a party with 4 of us all criminals and cleared the content together.
Fun times. Especially dunking on people coming into dark alley for duels
I really loved priston tale. Also I vaguely remember one where it was tab targeting and your "character" was some kind of air ship but there wasn't much vertical movement it was mostly horizontal movement
I like Mabi. The community is pretty tight nit these days, something about seeing the same people on and just asking them to run some stuff. Thank god they reworked archery and im not missing my 95% shots and dying.
No new grindy korean mmorpg's coming out soon or atleast annouced?
I have played Maplestory for 18 years, give me something else for fricks sake.
All the resources that went to making these types of games are all for mobile gacha type shit now.
Browser mmo called mad world
You should have upgraded to DFO years ago
yeah they're pretty much only making mobile shovelware now
you can thank wow for propagating that rush to endgame mentality
depends on what version of WoW you're talking about, I loved the leveling process in pre cata WoW. It was genuinely a better game than the end game content. The stories, the art, the music, the style, the dungeons. So fricking kino
push for endgame started in TBC and got way worse in WotLK
that's around the time when the mindset changed as well
vanilla wow you could play without ever raiding and be happy and nobody would shit on you for playing like that
I actually fricking hate you.

>Wayfinder
Was excited for this one but the fixed characters killed it for me.
frick genshit for making that garbage normie popular
if I'm investing a lot of time into a character I don't want it to be some preset character or multiple characters I want it to be my character.
>Aion 2 (PvP focus w/ some PvE) [2024?]
I though it was confirmed to be a phone game?
mobile is the most popular platform for MMOs now. get with the times, old man.
kys mobile peasant
your kind ruined gaming
Blue Protocol is run by Amazon for NA so expect stinky dogshit non-stop.
Ashes of Creation has been in development for 8 years or something, I would say avoid as I was not impressed when I was in the 5th round closed beta. The community is actual cancer and the devs want to eventually steal every cent you have.
Ashes looks like dogshit and it's hyped to high hell. There's no way it will live up to people's expectations.
>Ashes of Creation (Mix of Archeage/Lineage PvP + Everquest/WoW PvE + territorial control/city building/gathering/crafting) [Maybe 2025]
>2025
not a fricking chance. That guy got way in over his head, he has no idea how to make an mmo. it's gonna be played by archeage survivors and die off when they don't want to leave their 10k dollar accounts and erenor sets behind.
New games are all wow clones and grinding is officially illegal.
this shit is supposedly an MMO, but has absolutely no buzz, closed beta had like 100 viewers on twitch and even in open beta it wasn't even close to 1k
DOA for sure unless they pay big name streamers to shill it
haven't even heard of that
got any more info?
i think the beta is running right now for both PC and mobile
>preset characters
into the trash it goes
I played that today, anyone can join the cbt
it's not an mmo
there's a town that is essentially a lobby then you queue up for activities like mini games, bosses, pvp, or raids which weren't out yet
you do not get to customize your character and instead you pick a premade which is locked to your class
you can get them outfits and such
you have to pay or grind for new classes/characters
not an mmo
not a maplestory 2 clone
very jank
very low budget
ignore the smilegate name its phone jank
>ashes of creation: never ever
Very comfy period of time. Miss playing some RO on my shitty walmart PC.
>shitty
No, they were actually good back then because they weren't blatant WoW clones
Now modern Korean MMOs? Yeah, they all follow the same pattern of "just rush to max level where the game actually starts... only for everything to be gated behind dailies and several layers of RNG"
Isnt Latale just a Maplestory clone but with a shitload more clothes?
honest question, why the frick don't they just remove the leveling process? I love leveling and I think that the process is integral to stuff like EQ, FFXI, and WoW, but in modern MMOs it is such a time waste and after thought. There is no challenge, there is no engagement. It is just useless
>a time waste
That's exactly the point. It's a meaningless and useless(for the player) timesink.
why not just put that effort into content that the devs can monetize (similar to their end game stuff). people aren't really spending money during leveling because it's not designed for that. just seems like an odd choice from both a development standpoint AND a financial one
>people aren't really spending money during leveling
People buy skips
fair enough, I forgot that some games sell boosts
former xiv drone here, bought 2 skips to raid because in adulthood you value your time and entertainment over money. they absolutely make bank off of skips, the leveling experience is torture.
> XIV leveling
> hard
Get out of this thread you fricking child
Fricking this.
The leveling in Xiv is piss easy and you can easily out level the entirety of the game in a matter of hours if you just play the game normally.
If anything skipping some of the story makes sense if you really don't care to rewatch the storyline after the first time.
He never said it was hard.
Just because they weren't WoW clones doesn't mean they were good
please god take me back...

Why does no one ever talk about Mabinogi? I thought its a unique and interesting game.
just like all the other long lived mmos it ruined itself with too many updates
it's a fricking mess of a game today and the rework is gonna be mobile only if it ever escapes development hell
mabi mobile is trash
you mean you've played it? I don't mean the mobile version of mabi but the remake and I wouldn't be surprised if its trash since it's mobile but I hate that it's mobile and it wouldn't be saved by being cross platform either because it was made for mobile which means it's trash
yeah I was kinda surprised how decent it was aside from the obvious mobile trash like the UI
if only they made a PC mmorpg, those devs have potential to make something good
It is, just that it’s old
I still play Mabi in current year.
I tried playing it and felt REALLY lost.
there's a thread over on /vm/ that's pretty helpful as well as a guild
also pretty much every player in game will flock to and help new players
Thanks anon.
It does a pretty decent job now introducing the basics and what upgrading your strength and your skills looks like.
If you do decide to play again, the questline is called Blaanid's Brave Boost. It's kind of aggressively pushed at you if you make a new character, but even your old character can do it.
Is there a recommended talent to start as? From what I've seen people say chain slash
It's not Master Plan yet
This is when you prepare for the fakies to come back and make loadsa money off those paygays
mabinogi has the cutest characters
imagine if we got a remake that wasn't mobile garbage
where are the people that made these old games today? why does it feel like society as a whole was replaced by fricking bots circa 2014-2015?
jesus.
artists are often bad salesman, they can't get funding for their projects
and since games are more profitable than ever you can bet none of the artists are being paid
Which it probably will be.
doesnt it have one already?
it already has a mobile version yeah but this one cleverly branded "mabinogi mobile" is a mobile remake with new graphics and probably dumbed down for mobile gamers and I'm assuming with cash shop up the ass
wouldn't be surprised if they went back to rebirth being a paid feature
>Chinkshit Mabi Mobile gives endgame skills like Hailstorm and FH/FS upon character creation
>DevCat's is in limbo
At least the first one got shut down.
I don't get how the hell did they even go into development hell
like how do you frick up a mobile remake of a game so badly that it gets delayed for like 5 years and is in a constant state of radio silence for all of that
I'm still here all these years later
>tfw still no other MMO with systems as neat as mabinogi

thank you anon
no ty, i stole the image. yes, i like it that much.
My first Korean MMO . . . too bad no one on Ganker played this.
I never got into helbreath myself but I knew some dudes who played it
Black Desert Online for me.
The RNG is great
A lot of Korean mmos could be great... if they were less Korean.
Meanwhile Eden Eternal is being dug up and and releasing again this year
>eden eternal
isn't that the game that would just play itself if you told it where to go? I feel like I played that a LONG ass time ago
>nobody would shit on you for playing like that
I guess I don't really give a frick what other WoW players think. I enjoy raiding but I enjoy leveling too. frick em
I don't know, I remember playing it during beta.
>but I enjoy leveling too
don't get me wrong a lot of wow players do like it but I still think it was wow that started the whole rush to endgame where the real game begins
It came to be a surprise that people actually cared more for the D2 mechanics of endgame than exploring the world and doing dungeons, so they updated the game to focus mainly on raids.
>so they updated the game to focus mainly on raids.
exactly
the game didn't start out like that but it did become that
You forgot the best one.
Or maybe you didn't, since this one was far from shitty.
Most comfy hours of my life were spent playing this game.
Never played it but looking at trailers and gameplay vids makes me nostalgic idk why...
Phantom School was kino.
>flyff universe
>game rebuild from ground up by fans
>supposedly not P2W
>suddenly gets funded by the original developers
>launches not only P2W but also pay to progress
As always israelites ruin everything. We can't have a product that's good and fun AND makes money if there's a version of that product that is bad and not fun but makes MORE money.
Wait did this really happen?
Last I checked, you could play it in your browser and I started but somethign happened that made me quit. Was it this?
probably the fact you had to constantly have a guy buff you in order to take down some of the higher rate monsters no matter what.
If you weren't being social you were getting your ass handed to you left and right and would have to spend a shit ton of money on healing items to keep yourself from going under.
and BDO

My korean MMO of choice is mabinogi
it's fun i like it
I remember watching a trailer for an MMO when I was in school, that had a big emphasis on pets in combat and mounts. Anyone remember that?
I always wanted to play Aion too.

DFO my beloved
I hope they don't frick up the 3D version they're making
For a mobile game ported to PC its quite fun
I unironically love/loved toram but not having any friends who played made it not quite as good so I ended up quitting
i played a lot of iruna online on mobile, which i think was a predecessor of toram. might have to check it out again if its on pc.
I started with toram but if you payed any attention at all to iruna's lore it seems like toram is a REALLY cool continuation
My childhood is going to internet cafe with friends after school to play eastern MMOs. Miss those simpler times.
Don't cry.. don't cry..
>i bet it's the prontera theme

Knight Online
Anyone remembers this?
I never managed to make this game run back then and I'm still mad about it.
In Latam this game had ads in the 1 anime channel we had in cable it was very fun
it must really suck for you guys that had to lose your preferred kmmo years ago and can never get that magic back
NA DFO was doomed for failure from the beginning
thankfully we can forget Nexon NA was ever a thing thanks to DFOG
yeah first time around it was great. closing and restarting it with the limited changes and raids made returning players move on. we grew out of it
Maple is as shit as ever.
Took me a week of reading just to get my bearings
>play such a shitty p2w obscure mmo
>that nobody even remembers it
I still long for a good pirate mmo ;_;
for me it was SMT: Imagine
Pirate MMOs have this essential problem that it doesn't feel right if you alone are in control of a full ship but it's also not viable to have players doing every role in a ship.
Sometimes I wonder what happened to my old friends that used to play MMO together. Are they happily married with stable jobs? barely scraping to live? A shut-in NEET reading this thread? or maybe already gone from this world? Pretty depressing...
mine are mostly NEETs and none are married. MMOs frick you up
Your list of options is one that becomes progressively more likely.
How many of these are pay to win type shit? I want to try out a game like this but anything that has "spend coins get xp" is an instant turn off
If a game is Korean, there's a 99.99% chance it is pay2win. However, you can still enjoy most of these games despite that. Some of them like Mabinogi only have very minor p2w advantages, and others take hundreds of hours of gameplay before you hit the "wall" where you have to pay to progress.
Do you have a personal favorite?
Dungeon Fighter Online for pure combat & leveling alts
Mabinogi for sandbox activities and community
BDO for life skills (fishing, chopping wood, etc). I like playing on private servers for BDO since they let you get cash shop stuff for free so you can skip the p2w.
Holy shit I forgot about Dungeon Fighter Online. Thanks Anon!
That also sounds appealing, I'll try it out.
I was crazy hyped for BDO, but quit very quickly once I realised how greedy the devs were. How up to date are the private servers?
All my friends hyped up BDO waiting for release. As soon as I get the game and start playing they told me they dropped it cause there wasn't meaningful guild activates (housing and whatnot)
They're like 6 months behind or something like that. Not a huge deal unless you absolutely *need* to play the latest class as soon as it releases.
Play MapleStory Reboot server then. The only stuff you can spend money on is playing dress up
okay fine I'll reinstall and give it another shot
not now
probably not tomorrow
but at some point
This jpg almost made me cry
I will never understand how people can enjoy those games.
Much worse than even the shovelware I played as a kid.
because it was an adventure. a vast world of stuff to see and monsters to kill. not everything was known. people were more friendly with each other.
I like the LaTale character sprites and cosmetics. They look very nice.
>Check out Latale for the first time in years
>Lv9999* is the cap
>9999
Disgaea MMO when?
level 9999 is ascension cap. level 235 is character cap. level 105 is awakening cap. and I think now there's a constellation level system that's comparable to more than level 105 awakening, which is more than level 9999 ascension. all but character level are account bound at least.
> Best MMO
> Got to crossover with best golf game
If only we knew kino would die back then
Oh I guess I don't have any of the Trickster x Pangya screenshots on this HD, I hope they're somewhere safe
Trickster had cute artstyle but I had no idea what to do in the game, I just spent a lot of time drilling on the beach.
Aren't there private servers? I see a "Life TO
There's a private server that basically is the server now.
playtrickster
>There's a private server that basically is the server now.
It was THE server until dev went full sperg, nowadays I have no idea if the grown ass woman in charge got her shit togheter. Still the server is quite p2w as expected of an ultra p2w game but still...
Drills man..
I wonder if there's a future where we can have AI run a server so that it doesn't sperg out. Pserver hosts always do. It's inevitable.
,
wonder how good the cosmetic side of stuff is in Trickster
I swear to god there was a game like Rumble Fighter but with robots and it wasn't that one gundam game. I can't find it and its been haunting me for the past two decades
Is it Botz?
holy shit it was. thank you anon
For me it was the edgiest of edgy MMOs
that MMO was peak pic related
I don't know why they used a d3 armor set for that as it's something anyone can get and transmog onto their own armor. Kinda breaks the joke if you've played d3.
For me, it was KAL online.
Have you said your goodbyes yet?
>Make Jett finally good with her Legion and 5th Job
>Remove her because she's buggy with newer quests
How will they handle all the other non-KMS classes in the future?
I haven't played in a long time, but when I still playing a bit on and off, my Jett was always my goto class. I was actually thinking of coming back for a bit, but this fricking killed any desire I had.
My Jett was named CSNY
crosby still nash young
i was a cool cringey 12 year old
Shit I was thinking about funding my Beast Tamer but after that I don't think it's a good idea
What, beast tamer is getting removed too?
no but like jett she is not from KMS so maybe BT, Kanna and Hayato can also be removed in the future
>GMS is slowing turning into KMS but in burgerspeak
I mean, this is what we wanted 15 years ago, but...
I wanted some of the stuff korea had like coke world and such.
We got some of them but usually gutted and way past when they'd be useful.

How is Blade & Soul in 2023?
last time I checked my 1660ti 3600 couldnt run it. the engine "update" completely murdered whatever was left of that game. the sequel is some dogshit mobile shovelware. such a shame, b&s still has the best combat out of every mmo ive ever played
pvp was unironically 100% skill based
TERA had better combat.
>the engine "update"

>Not Better: Frame Rates
That was the major problem with UE3 MMOs in general, how do you frick that up?
by putting in negative effort since the game was already long dead
same problem with unity devs: they don't know how to actually code so the optimization is guaranteed shit
Blade and Soul changed artist which went to make destiny child and nikkie the goddess of victory now. Also censored original art. Blade and Soul is just using name of brand it's not what it was originally.
the og art was great
I really liked BnS, but my ping was too high and I couldn't do the Monk bread and butter combo combo in PVP so I stopped playing.
pretty jank
I think mmos in general died when alts and multiple classes on a single character (like xiv) became a thing. it was cool being a shaman or warrior with a +100 sword or armor that few other people had. groups were varied and you felt like a specialist. not anymore
Played lineage 2 for years on private servers, played some RO loved it but never was good, Lunia online was fun not sure if korean and dungeon fighter online too. Also S4league but many cheaters.
Maplestory at least had soul though, until it became P2W.
>until it became P2W.
so the first few months until gacha?
>You never made money off gacha
Best gear and best scrolls were locked behind gacha, then they locked more best gear behind that TCG scam.
Maplestory was always P2W, gachapon, scrolls, white gloves, buffs, etc.
Its just that after big bang people started to notice it more.
Prepaid cards were how most kids bought stuff back then, still most parents always said no.
Most korean MMOs had soul, until eventually they have some big reorganization patch (Big Bang in Maplestory, for example) that rebalances and streamlines a lot of the game. Those major overhauls are always the beginning of the end, and every last one I played declined the same way.

Recommend some f2p MMOs that are just fun to play even during levelling. I don't care if they're low pop/dying or w/e
If I had to recommend something I think it would have to be Toram. I had fun just grinding things out in it and it seemed like the character progression side of things had some meat to it. I liked that the main quest wasn't the entire leveling process, just a small part of it. I'm not even sure if you have to do it.
I quit pretty much for the same reason as
Probably would've been fun with some friends to play with.
Fiesta is still alive?!
Fiesta is taking a siesta last I checked.
when will they get their montezuma's revenge?
After nap time and some of Abuela's hot cocoa.
>Pristontale
Ahhh that takes me back. I never played farther than the first 10 levels or whatever it was the trial gave you. Graphically speaking it reminded me a lot of the original .Hack games.
It was unironically so shitty that not even the Dragonball NAME could carry it
Wow I forgot DBZ Online existed. I remember wanting to play it so bad. Guess its for the best I never got to
There's a private server up if you google it I thnk but like.... Yeah you shouldn't bother. Xenoverse does the concept better.
Not just the name, they also made DBO canon. Still funny they scrapped the whole thing and just made Xenoverse instead.
>Tried to make it a canon sequel to the original series
>They gave humans the ability to go Super Saiyan and explained it as humans all having saiyan blood because they crossbred with Goku and Vegeta's descendants
Would have been less moronic if they just let you wish yourself into being a Saiyan
For me it was Tales of Pirates.
I enjoyed Flyff but man I don't remember a single thing about it except for the giant gauntlet class.
Tree of Savior bros....
Such good art direction wasted
Owari da
>from the genius mind of korean la creatividad, the driving force behind the original ragnarok online kim hakkyu
It's so fricking over.
everything about it was great except for
>let's build layers of walls like it's Constantinople
why did they think this was a good idea
It had a spark during the open beta and then it was taken away.
anyone remember either a korean or chinese MMO which was in 2,5D?
I played it like 12 years ago for a little bit when I was young, I used to love trying old indie games and random MMOs on Softonic
grand chase?
top down or side scroller?
side scroller
I am always shocked mabi's servers are still up and running
Thanks anon, now I remember I can't go back and play Ragnarok just like in the old times.
I still keep a folder of screenshots back from 2005, I'm taking them to my grave.
The time flew by.
>GM SONE IS SO PRETTY!
lmao simp caught in 720p
any endless online bros...
I played that a lot but never progressed
mostly looked at what other people had and went "Wow i want that" but never figured out how to get anything or actually pursue anything
there was a resource on how to get most things though im not sure how accurate they were, I remember to get one armor it would spawn in a chest every hour or so but it was a CHANCE of a spawn every hour not 100%
>the lines to kill penguins as they respawn
pain but also I want to go back
I vaguely remember that and Dark Ages. Endless had a f2p mode I think? Or I played a private server I don't remember. Never got to play Dark Ages because it was p2p and I didn't have my own card back then.
endless was only f2p pretty sure
no but how the game is filled up with mixed systems from various updates over the years
I don't know how they've reworked it but when I last played it was an incoherent mess
Lobotomy corporation MMO game when?
i'm a hueboy so i play grand chase and maplestory
I'm thinking of playing BDO again. I love the carriage trading and sailing, it's so comfy.
anyone here played the original dragon ball online? nobody...? ok
is there any private server? the game really died quickly when I remembered a lot of hype around it, and it still has linked elements to it to this day
yeah, i think its called dragon ball online global or something
I want to devote all of my free time to a korean mmo that hasn't changed since 2008
if you haven't played DNF I highly recommend it
2D beat em up is fun
the steam release is shit
download the game's actual client then dummy
i cant speak ching chong
the actual client is in english dummy
>"I wont cry this time"
>memories come rushing in
>cry like a b***h
I miss you guys...
I spent 6 years of my life in Ragnarok. Good times. On a private server with mid rates (3/3/5) it wasn't too horrible to get stuff as well.
I still remember my favourite mob: Moonlight flower. Korean games were based
I miss the pixel art golden age of Korean MMOs, all the shit that’s left today is bland 3D fantasy now
god what was this game, didn't its combat actually throw you into like a turn based system similar to old final fantasy instead of the usual real time stuff every mmo does
Trickster
> didn't its combat actually throw you into like a turn based system similar to old final fantasy instead of the usual real time stuff every mmo does
No
what fricking game did that then I know I played a moronic 2d kmmo that looked exactly like trickster but it had combat encounters that worked like say earthbound where there is an enemy sprite on screen and you would run into it and start an encounter like picrelated, and people could see you on the overworld and join in your battles mid way
Wonderland Online?
I still find funny how a few people israeliteed the servers economy into the ground.
yep thats it, I didn't play it a ton but I thought it was okay
Yeah it was ok but it was mostly a glorified chatroom because most people used to autoplay to collect resources or were waiting to be done with things they were creating.
I remember the card mini game and drilling more than the actual gameplay but I’m pretty sure the norm back then was clicking an enemy to autofight with real time skills you can use
Used to play mabinogi and trickster and flyff.
never heard of pangya but i love the 3d models and I found a private server to play it a bit and i wanna try and rip models out of it to use in vrchat i miss this comfy generation of 3d/2d art man.
I could play shitty shovelware for hours as a young kid, but these MMO"RPG"s were so bad that even I lost interest after 10 minutes.
classic amazing games...
zombie panic, co-op horror, free on steam...
home
>RO
>0.01% card drop rate
good times
>Angels online
>Rare item with 0.000012% drop chance from a boss that spawned once every 6 hours
>50-90 people spawncamping while botting that were able to kill it in seconds so it was impossible to get
Good ol insane drop rates.
Did anyone on Ganker ever play Mu Online? As a teen I fricking loved playing MU
getting a rune w/ skill was my first RMT experience as a 10yo kid
i still remember not eating lunch at school for 3 days to get the money and pay the dude, we went to the same school
yeah, i remember my cousin and i used to play a class with red hair that would spin (dont remember the name)
My brother played that.
This shit was the most ridiculous kino concept for an MMO I’ve ever seen and we’ll never see another like it
Metin2 bros, where you at?
WON ZAJENTE
I remember farming the monkey dungeon to get the medal that would let me get a horse
>he doesnt remember breaking his +9 full moon sword
>he doesnt remember breaking his +9 red iron blade
>he doesnt remember fishing for hair dye to afford his next +9 weapon and break it again
>he doesnt remember fishing for hair dye to afford his next +9 weapon and break it again
Elden Ring has 100% chance to upgrade with 0% chance of losing your weapon.
deterministic upgrading is what I prefer, I'm just saying a LOT of games are shit nowadays, especially MMOs, you can't find a single multiplayer game with truly deterministic 100% upgrading anymore.
WHY WOULD YOU EVER PLAY SOMETHING LIKE THAT???
Lineage 2 was the only MMO where the "massive" aspect was true, Castle sieges were a mess of thousand players and it was glorious.
meanwhile current day WoW servers shit itself if more than 200 players are in the same area.
>Mabinogi
That's the opposite of shitty, no other MMO even comes close. Honestly one of my favorite games.
no other mmo's combat comes close for me, RPS style combat is just too god
i remember just being able to use windmill properly put you in the top 1% of players
Overshadowed Korean RPGs that only Koreans could have actually played...home
BROTHERS
RINE HOLDING
maplestory isn't shitty
>deleting classes
>skipping 90% of the world
>new player experience sucks
>client is buggy and will crash constantly
>unoptimized
>pay to win or anti social servers, pick one
it wasn't in 2005. if you have played recently, it absolutely is, it's just a mobile phone gacha game now, even reboot feels like it except they took out the gacha so you just feel permanently fricked because you can't pay to get OP but you can't get really progress that fast by playing either, so you have no sense of feeling like you are getting stronger.
What are some good mmos or private servers for dead mmos with good dress up stufd
HorizonXI
FFXI has amazing armor visuals and there's a transmog type feature.
Fiesta takes me back to middle school days.
I've been itching to play Mabinogi or RO for the first time, but I feel like the Steam versions aren't it. Is there a best way to play these games as a first time player these days?
RO private server communities are ass. They ruined the game with their moronese.
https://mabi.pro/ seems to be still around. Dead but it's based on some older version of the game so it should be less bloated. I haven't tried it.
The live version of Mabinogi is fine, people will complain about skill/feature bloat and completely ignore all the years of good content and QoL updates. Not to mention it's more beginner friendly than ever right now. As for
MabiPro is absolutely not the way to go especially as a new player, it's based on a very early version of Mabinogi lacking a ton of worthwhile content and most skills and like half of the content that is there isn't translated. It's a server for hardcore nostalgiagays that played back in G2/G3 and want to relive a bit of that.
Who watched this movie because they played ArchLord?
>Play fiesta
>Have a great time
>Hit the first wall (lv 85)
>Decide to start to spending some cash (not that much)
>Finally reach last promotion (lv 100)
>Reach second wall (lv 103)
>Drop it all together
I had fun but the endgame gets too grindy and too money demanding, I still miss it from time to time tho.
Played Rose online because this girl I liked was playing it in 2005.
18 years and two kids later. Man time flies.
Anon living the dream
Can anyone help me remember a mid to late 2000's Eastern-themed mmo? I remember it being sprite-based, top down, and one of the weapons being those long Chinese spear sword with the ribbons round them.
Oh, and I remember you could jump too. Frick, it's driving me.nuts.
I am currently playing three of those
I miss flyff so god damn much bros
>mfw looked up one of my old MapleStory friend's IGNs on a whim the other day and found a tribute video to our old guild uploaded almost 15 years ago
>doesn't post it
come on man
>Played Maplestory pre-big bang, Played latale since it's first day of release
>never made a single friend or found a guild that I felt at home at.
Just me?
Can't relate, been through a lot of guilds. They all fall apart in the end though.
But if anyone wants to start a guild in current GMS or Mabinogi I'm not opposed to the idea.
wait, I thought actual maplestory shut down years ago
No it's still going, but it's probably very different from what you remember.
Fiesta Apoline bros wya
willhelm reich in 1930s practiced psychotherapy called vegetotherapy where he made his patients undress and then painfully pressed their bodies with his hands.
>Old KMMO thread
>No one is posting the comfy KMMO music of old
Guess I'll start
First game I played with a Ganker guild, those were the days.
Koreans probably used up their collective lifetime of soul making KMMO music.
I always dream of how the Korean gaming market would've played out if netcafes never caught on
anyone still play dfo
lost my pin for my release account and never bothered to start again..
yes
I will never stop playing fgrappler
>I will never stop playing fgrappler
this you?
I wish I could pull off a hairline like that with such enviable indifference
yea is that battlepass exclusive to DFOG or something?
kdnf have battlepasses too but ours are usually always gimped versions (unique experience). if you compare our spectre and blitz battlepasses from last year you will see a huge difference between them despite the same price. i caved and bought it a week ago anyway since i wanted account vault space
i used to play lots of them back in the day. wonderland, grand fantasia, eden, lagsword. all of them start good but eventually become shit, either because the company becomes greedy and release broken characters or enhancement levels to milk whales, breaking pve and pvp in the process, or because the community fills up with homosexuals and drama landwhales and ends up killing the game, this last part being especially true for p-servers. in the end, they become a huge waste of time because everything you did goes down the drain, so i keep myself away from mmos and online games in general
>maplestory
>ragnarok
>shitty
>literally the only playable MMOS ever made
These are the same people who pay $15 a month in the year 2000 to play a wacky cartoon warhammer knock off.
Remember the good old times?
Are there any other games with such a cool crime system?
Tell me im not the only one played this until they shut it down?
>Remember the good old times?
I do. https://youtu.be/mF5ssefULow?t=3
Never forget what they took from you
>tfw never fought Demifiend or Satan
for me it was the fightersnot really mmos but
twas a fun game
>could never play this shit due to the region locks
pain
The best!
Based mabi chads. Finished g3 last night (kind of wild that with blaanid boost I became strong enough to solo g3 final in just a few days...)
i played this shit just about as much as i played maplestory back in the day
You'd have an argument if it was latale but that looks awful
So please tell me, whats the required mental illness to enjoy these games? It cant be autism because i have that
I've never played Mabinogi. I just downloaded it, and am going in. Wish me luck
Lineage 2 has to be one of the best games ever created.
